Confirmed! Lauren Ambrose Will Play Fanny Brice In Funny Girl Revival!

We were pulling for you, Lea Michele. We really were. We wanted this for you with all our hearts.

But we have to say - this girl's not half bad!

Yesterday, we reported a rumor that Six Feet Under star Lauren Ambrose was poised to take the lead in the new revival of Funny Girl on Broadway. That rumor has now been CONFIRMED, with both Lauren and director Bartlett Sher releasing statements to that effect.

For Lauren, this role is a dream come true and she conveyed her excitement for the project, saying:

"Let's face it, there is obviously more than a lot to live up to playing Fanny Brice, but I am humbled and thrilled by the opportunity to be a part of this revival. The character is complex, the music beautiful and challenging. I can't wait to get into that rehearsal room with the team Bart is assembling — wish we could start tomorrow!"

Alright, we're going to be honest. When we saw this news yesterday, we were not amused. We thought, "This chick's more of a film actress than a Broadway star," and we weren't so confident she could handle such an iconic role. Then, we did a little digging and we found out she's actually the lead in a band called Lauren Ambrose and the Leisure Class. Then, we found this video of Lauren singing a raspy, jazzy version of My Man from the film version of Funny Girl. (above)

We watched it. We liked it. We like her! She can sing!!! We're warming up to her...

For the rest of you, steadfast and true to your belief she isn't right for this point, we'd like to share with you the director's statement to put things into perspective:

"It's important that people not see this casting process as trying to find the next Barbra Streisand. She is one of a kind. Instead, I really needed someone with whom I could explore the original musical and come to terms with Fanny Brice for a new era. I understand how difficult this part is to fill as well as the characteristics required to explore this in a new way. The world of burlesque, vaudeville and the Follies is a unique American invention and how Fanny Brice came up in that world is a wonderful story, but this show is also about the sacrifices of being an artist and the high cost that women in particular suffer when they find great success and the difficult choices that come with accomplishment. Lauren Ambrose has enormous accomplishments as an actor, especially a truthfulness in her acting that leads to great comedy, as well as a wonderful, rich voice that is fully trained and can genuinely soar.

For me the key to any revival is finding the balance between respecting and unearthing all the deepest intentions of the original, and yet pushing the work ahead to see it in a new way. I know with Lauren that we can do that. We couldn't be more thrilled to get to work and make something special and something new."

So basically, suck it and stop crying. No one can be Barbra Streisand. True, there are some so eerily close that when you close your eyes while watching Glee, you'd think it was 1964 and you were sitting in the Winter Garden Theater watching Babs on opening night.

But this guy wants to put his own stamp on the show, which means he wants someone in a rank all her own for the role. Understandable, we suppose.

Still, don't think you've completely won us over yet, Missy! We need to hear you sing Don't Rain On Our Parade first! That's what is really going to make it or break it for us!

Casey Anthony MUST Return To Orlando - Or Else!

You can't outrun your fate, girl. Not this time.

Casey Anthony has to be in Orlando by 10 a.m. tomorrow or her butt's back in the big house. Her lawyers desperate attempts to sway Judge Stan Strickland failed and now, she has to return to Florida to being her supervised probation stemming from her check-fraud charges.

Now, when Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez appeared on The Today Show this morning, he insisted there was an "issue of safety" if Casey went back to Orlando. He revealed that she and he were genienely concerned something might happen to her. That concern is about to get a whole lot more REAL as the Department of Corrections Orlando Intake Office says it "does not have the resources to provide extra security" for Casey when she returns. Same goes for the Orlando PD.

So basically, she's on her own.

Furthermore, if she decides to push her luck and fails to show up tomorrow she will be in violation of her current probation order. That's when the judge smacks his gavel, gives a wave and a bench warrant for her arrest is issued. And we don't think he'd have the slightest hesitation of doing it either.

Live-Action Barbie Flick Finds A Ken In 90210 Stud Trevor Donovan

At least that's the rumor.

In case you weren't aware, when Barbie celebrated her 50th birthday anniversary tow years ago, Mattel announced that the company had plans to team up with Dreamgirls producer Laurence Mark to develop a live-action flick based the luckiest piece of plastic on the planet! (Seriously, she has EVERYTHING!!!)

Well, there's still no word yet on how the movie's plot is doing - or what it is - and there haven't been any names mentioned to take on the role of the iconic doll. However, we have heard some buzz on who might be playing her love interest - Trevor Donovan!

Reportedly, Trevor just recently met with producers about the role and it sounds like things went very well!

He'd certianly be our pick! That hair, those eyes, his chiseled abs of perfection....

Um, can we play Barbie??? PUH-LEASE???

Laurence Fishburne Joins Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel!

Nice to see that Larry is keeping busy, post-CSI!

Back in June, we heard that Laurence Fishburne was parting ways with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and we were wondering what he might do next.

Now we know.

Mr. Fishburne will join Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman movie Man of Steel as Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White.

The role was previously played by Jackie Cooper in the Christopher Reeve movies, and most recently Frank Langella played White in Superman Returns.

Congrats on landing such a great role so quickly, Laurence! Sounds like you'll be just fine without CSI!

Sean Kingston Speaks About Near-Fatal Jet Ski Accident

Yesterday, we heard that Sean Kingston would be "breaking his silence" over his near-fatal Jet Ski accident in a new special called MTV First: Sean Kingston.

Now, we've gotten a look at the special (above), and it actually seems like Sean does have quite a bit more to say about his experience.

After going through such a traumatic experience, we can understand why Sean would want to talk so much about it, but hopefully now that he's done the big interview, he'll be ready to move forward and get going on the new album.

Big Brother Loser Winner Sued For Embezzlement

Oh shiz.

Big Brother winner Mike "Boogie" Malin and his business partner, VH1 reality star Lonnie Moore, are being sued by their former business partner Shereene Arazm for embezzlement.

Arazm says that the the two "illegally siphoned away [money] to support their lavish party-boy lifestyles." She says that for years, they were stealing money from her investment, the Geisha House, LLC restaurant group

In the lawsuit, she claims:

"They gambled away hundreds of thousands of dollars that never belonged to them, they used some of the stolen monies to pay for sex, and they traveled the world at Arazm's and the restaurant group's expense."

But get this!! She also alleges that Boogie used company money and resources "to have multiple sexual encounters with various older men during which Malin would live out fetish role play fantasies."

Whoa!! What the...

Boogie is fighting back though. He says that she tried to extort him by telling him that a week before filing the lawsuit, she would air his dirty laundry if he didn't pay up quickly. He's also suing on the claims that her people hacked into his emails and tapped his phone.

Arazm's responded to Boogie's lawsuit, saying:

"The lawsuit filed by Malin was simply a preemptive strike since Malin and his partners knew they were being sued for serious wrongful conduct. The claims in the suit are completely false and fabricated. We fully expect to get the suit promptly dismissed."

Those are some pretty crazy claims there. Boogie has always seem rather shady, but we can't tell who's lying here. We're sure the dramz just started though and both sides are coming out swinging.

Miley Cyrus just bought a brand new, $4 million house in Studio City, CA!

For those unfamiliar with LA culture, Studio City is a city within Los Angeles, and it's 'pretty cool.'

OK, back to the housing situation.

It has a pool, surround sound, and TEN parking spots! In LA, that might as well be worth half a mil on it's own.

Kelly Rowland was spotted chilling with Beyonce on the set of Queen B's new video for her third single Party from her latest album 4. Kelly was wearing a sparkling pink jacket and shorts while Beyonce was wearing a black leotard, bunny ears, and a yellow fur jacket.

LOLz WTF!

The two looked to be joined at the hip as they were seen giggling together. Aw, we love to see our two favorite Destiny's Child girls together! Can't wait for Kelly's cameo!
