Young Investment Banker Commits Suicide, Jumps Off Trump Place Tower Posted: 20 Dec 2010 05:59 AM PST This is sad: A young investment banker with a charitable heart left friends stunned Sunday over why she would take her own life by leaping from a Manhattan high-rise. Jessica Fashano’s last known words were asking directions to the roof of the 40-story Trump Place tower on the upper West Side, a police source said Sunday. “They have video showing her by herself; she goes out onto the roof,” the source said. Fashano, 27, an associate investment banker with Citigroup, did not leave a suicide note, so it remains a mystery why she chose to end her life on Saturday morning and why she chose the Riverside Blvd. building to do so. She lived on W. 53rd St. “We are deeply saddened by Jessica’s passing,” Citigroup officials said in a statement Sunday. “Our thoughts are with her family at this time.” As Fashano’s parents in her hometown of Morris Plains, N.J., mourned in private, her friends described her on Facebook as a beauty with a big heart. “I feel like she was stolen from us,” said Christopher Powell, who organized a Facebook remembrance page for his friend. Pals said Fashano showed no hint of depression this month when she helped host a benefit for Harboring Hearts Housing, a group that provides temporary, affordable homes for cardiac patients. “She was selfless with her time, generous with her heart and unyielding in her ability to find that extra amount of time, love and effort as a volunteer for our organization,” wrote Michelle Javian, Harboring Hearts co-director. “Her laugh was contagious, and her willingness to giveback to our community through her various charitable involvements is something for which we are all so verygrateful.” R.I.P. The couple were spotted enjoying a romantic vacation in Miami and Mexico over the Thanksgiving weekend in November. And now it looks like A-Rod, real name Alex Rodriguez, is ready for Cameron to be part of the family after he brought his children along to share Christmas with them in Mexico. The Knight & Day star looked stunning as she lounged by the pool in a tiny black bikini and white fedora hat, an near-identical outfit to the one she wore on Thanksgiving. She also changed into a tight white dress at one point that showed her taut yet curvy figure off to perfection. And from the way she cuddled A Rod’s daughters Natasha, six, and Ella, two, it’s clear Cameron is already feeling maternal towards the little girls. Meanwhile A-Rod, 35, seemed totally relaxed and comfortable as he watched his 38-year-old girlfriend having fun and bonding with his children. Cameron has spoken out before in defence of women who don’t want children, saying there are already enough people living on the planet. But she never ruled out having children herself, telling Cosmopolitan magazine last year: ‘I think women are afraid to say that they don’t want children because they’re going to get shunned. ‘But I think that’s changing too now. I have more girlfriends who don’t have kids than those that do.’And honestly? We don’t need any more kids. We have plenty of people on this planet.’ On whether she wants children of her own, she said: ‘I never say never. I don’t know what’s going to happen. ‘I could end up adopting half a dozen kids, or I could end up being the next “Octomom”.’ Source
