‘Jersey Shore’ Season 3 Releases A Promo Video Trailer

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 02:27 PM PST

A couple of weeks ago MTV released the first promo images for the upcoming 3rd season of Jersey Shore and a week later they released the final cast photo. Today we get our first look at the first video trailer for the upcoming season and as you might imagine, the 2-minute clip is full of mayhem, physical assaults and the arrest of Snooki. Bring on Jersey Shore Season 3!

Just when you thought all the drama left Jersey Shore when Angelina Jolie Pivarnik quit the show at the end of last season (much like she did at the start of the first season), well … you were wrong. From the looks of this clip, Sammi Sweetheart Giancola — who was never really friendly with the other ladies in the house — will be causing the drama this season. She takes a punch from Jennifer Jwoww Farley and she gives a punch to (ex?) boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro (who was just indicted for assault from an incident that took place on JS season 1) while Mike The Situation Sorrentino looks on … yeah, it sounds like we are in for another bitchin’ season of Jersey Shore. And so, without further ado … here is our first look at Jersey Shore season 3:

Get your GTL and fist-pumpin’ skills warmed up, y’all … the calamity commences on Thursday January 6 when Jersey Shore season 3 premieres on MTV. Are you excited for another season in the Jersey Shore?

Cristiano Ronaldo, Jr. Steps Out With His Granny

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 02:06 PM PST

A couple of weeks ago we got to see a few fun photos of soccer stud Cristiano Ronaldo waving to and making cute faces at his baby son Cristiano Ronaldo, Jr. during a soccer match in Madrid, Spain. Today we get to see a couple of new photos of Crissy Jr. out and about in Funchal, Portugal just a few days ago with his grandmother Dolores Aveiro. Daddy Cristiano Sr. was not with them … but it looks like Jr. is being allowed out in public more often these days.

I know I say this every single time but … I *still* cannot believe that Cristiano Ronaldo is a father. With that out of the way, I must also reiterate how adorably cute I think his little baby boy is. Don’t you just want to pinch this little boys chubby cheeks off and eat them up?! Chubby babies are the best. Cristiano is a very lucky man to call this precious little butterball son. Now that the baby is being allowed out in public more often, we may actually get to watch him grow up.

‘Balloon Boy’ Falcon Heene & His Brothers Start A Rock Band

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 01:20 PM PST

Balloon Boy is back, y’all! Remember little Falcon Heene who was believed to have been lost in a homemade hot air balloon last year … and then it was discovered that his father Richard Heene orchestrated the whole thing as a hoax and he was, therefore, sent to jail for his crime? Yeah, that kid and his brothers Bradford and Ryo have started up a little band and RadarOnline has our first look at their debut music video.

Keeping it all within the family, Falcon, 7, Bradford, 11, and Ryo, 10, have dubbed themselves the Bear Scratch Band- a play on their father Richard's latest product for people with an itch. As per the name, the Bear Scratch helps simulate the animal's method of rubbing against a tree to relieve an itch. The boys' first video is for the Bear Scratch Dance- the product's jingle written by Smokey Miles and published by Meson Music. Filmed last week in Florida, Richard shot the video of his sons over a couple of days and his wife Mayumi edited it. As for the boys' performance, Miles gave them rave reviews. "I am amazed, they did so well. They were naturals," Miles told RadarOnline.com. "They were just having fun. Richard said that the boys love music and have been playing music for some time." Falcon is the lead singer of the group and also plays harmonica on the track. Miles also said this is just the beginning for the Bear Scratch Band. "I’ve got a bunch more songs written for them," he revealed. As for how the family has been doing since the fallout of the balloon incident, Miles said they are finding ways to make ends meet. "They are like every other family, they are struggling to keep things going with the economy," he said. As for the Bear Scratch, Miles said Richard is getting orders from Europe and many customers are returning to order more to give as presents.

Ugh … I suppose we shouldn’t be all that surprised that Richard Heene is still trying to make money off of his kids … but at least he’s doing it legally this time. This music video clip can only be streamed on Radar‘s site HERE but it’s worth checking out if you want to see what the Balloon Boy family is up to these days. To be honest, I had totally forgotten they ever existed until I heard about this video. I’m not a fan of the music nor am I at all interested in this Bear Scratch contraption that is apparently selling like hotcakes in Europe but … I suppose good for the Heene family for trying to make an honest buck.

The Official Prince William Wedding Memorabilia Is Now Available For Sale

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 01:00 PM PST

Hear ye! Hear ye! The royal wedding of Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales and his longtime girlfriend Catherine Elizabeth Kate Middleton (who were spotted out on the town in England over the weekend on their first official outing since announcing their engagement last month) is only 4 months away … but the official Royal Wedding memorabilia is NOW available for sale!!!

Britain’s royal wedding is still four months away, but the first official memorabilia went on sale Monday — a range of wedding china personally approved by the couple. Prince William’s office said the items had been commissioned by the palace department responsible for the royal family’s art collection and made in Stoke-on-Trent in central England, a traditional center for British ceramics. The three souvenirs — a tankard, plate and pill box — each feature the couple’s entwined initials, the prince’s coronet emblem and the date of the wedding — April 29, 2011. Kate Middleton and Prince William: How well do you know them? A quiz. On sale at royal palaces and a website, profits from the collectables will be donated to the charity which curates the royal family’s artworks, known as the Royal Collection. “The Royal Collection has been working on the design since around the time of the engagement — it’s a very fast moving process,” William’s office said in a statement. His office said that the prince and his future bride had both approved the wedding merchandise.

I understand that these sorts of ceramic souvenirs of major events in the British Royal Family are quite collectible and are much-sought after as soon as they are released … tho, I hear that items that contain photographs are much more desired by collectors. As you can see, these items only feature words and the official monogram of the Royal couple. Still, I can see the appeal. As a yank, I’m not one for collecting Royal memorabilia but I might want to get my hands on one of these trinkets. In fact, I already ordered a bootleg coffee mug from eBay that was immediately put up for sale when the engagement announcement was made … David used it for his coffee this morning. I’m not sure if there’s time but perhaps these Royal offerings would make nice Xmas gifts for the Prince William fan on your list? I can’t wait ’til the t-shirts hit the streets … I really, really want a Royal Wedding t-shirt :)

It Can’t Rain All The Time

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 12:05 PM PST

And so … the rain continues to fall here in SoCal. I’m not gonna lie, while I can appreciate the change of pace … the continuous rain is starting to be a real downer. I spent all of yesterday holed up indoors, trying to stay out of the cold wetness inside … and also spent much of my time trying to extract the constructive criticism from some of y’all about your feelings regarding the new layout of Pink is the new Blog.

Believe me, from the bottom of my heart … I am very thankful for all the feedback … both good and bad. Yes, it is much easier to read the positive comments but the passionate negative comments are very enlightening. I’ve been blogging for a very long time. It started out as a hobby but over time it turned into a passion and has been my livlihood for quite some time now. While nothing would make me happier than to please all people, all the time … that simply cannot be. When I started blogging, there was no TMZ … major news publications never dared to lower themselves to the blog format … and it was pretty much the Wild West of the Blogosphere (oh yeah, we used to use that word, too). My initial blog format was to write one big, long post per day and squeeze in as much daily goss as I could in that one post. The only reason that was my format of choice was because my poor HTML skills wouldn’t allow me to do anything else. It took a long time for me to risk changing EVERYTHING into a totally new format a few years ago … and then again now. It’s clear that some folks don’t like this new layout, and I can totally appreciate that. I’m listening to the dislikes and working towards finding a way to find a middle ground … as I said yesterday, nothing is set in stone. At the end of the day, I still really love what I do. I still really LOVE keeping up on pop culture and celebs and sharing my thoughts on all the funnest stuff. That is what I have been doing since I started blogging and that is what I plan to do for as long as I can. Blog culture is so different now than it was when I started. Now, major corporations with seemingly endless amounts of money fund seemingly endless numbers of blogs. I’m still just one person. In order for me to be able to continue to do what I love doing … I need to grow, adapt, change. Of course it is not my intention to alienate anyone, least of all you beloved readers who seem to enjoy what I do … but in order for me to be able to keep on bloggin’, things gotta change from time to time.

To those of you sending in your well wishes, positive comments and love — words cannot express what that has meant to me in the past 24 hours. To those of you honestly sharing your thoughts — both good and bad — I honestly love you for taking the time to share those thoughts with me. My end goal has been and will continue to be to keep writing Pink is the new Blog. I’m happy and thankful for any and everyone who wants to keep reading along.

The Fall Of ‘Spider-Man’

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 10:43 AM PST

Last night we learned the shocking yet not altogether surprising news that an actor fell 30 feet and was injured during Monday night’s Broadway performance of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. As you may know, last night’s injury was the 4th of the show’s run … and the show hasn’t even officially opened yet. Today, photos and video footage of the failed stunt have come to light, making it seem more likely that the embattled musical production is just doomed to fail.

Just to recap the news as was reported last night, a stunt actor playing Spider-Man fell 30 feet without his safety cable intact (it us unknown if the cable broke or if it wasn’t fastened properly) causing audible screams of horror in the audience. The show, which was almost over, was stopped immediately and ended … and the audience was ushered out so that EMTs could be called to attend to the injured player. Here are a few screencaptures from video of the accident:

The accident happened during the finale number, Spider-Man was supposed to jump off the bridge to save the falling Mary Jane Watson … but because his safety cable wasn’t connected to his body, the actor just fell straight to the ground. Thankfully, it is being reported that the actor was not severely injured in the fall … even still, he had to be transported to the hospital for observation:

Amazingly, someone managed to record video of the fall … which you can watch in full here as it was broadcast this morning on The Today Show:

Click HERE to watch the video on You Tube should the above embed not work for you. It’s impossible to tell but it does look like the safety cable snapped. Altho this is the fourth injury of the show, it is absolutely the one most people are talking about … and will continue to talk about. I’m not sure if the video is going to do much to ease worries that Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is dangerous but just hearing that an actor fell 30 feet amid screams of horror can’t be good for promotion. Again, I ask, how much longer can this show continue to weather these sorts of headline mishaps? What will it take for the show to either be a stunning success (unlikely) or a horribly embarrassing flop failure?

‘The Pee-Wee Herman Show’ Will Return To HBO

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 10:04 AM PST

Happy news for fans of Pee-Wee Herman!! The Pee-Wee Herman Show, which is currently on Broadway after a very successful run here in LA at the start of the year, is coming back to TV. HBO announced today that they will film one of the Broadway performances of the show for broadcast on their network sometime next year.

On Tuesday HBO said it would shoot the current Broadway production of "The Pee-wee Herman Show," which stars Paul Reubens as that impish man-child of its title, for a special to be shown next year. Pee-wee historians – and you know who you are – may recall that HBO previously broadcast a "Pee-wee Herman Show" special back in 1981, taped at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles. That show, which Mr. Reubens and his colleagues at the Groundlings comedy theater began performing in 1980, would go on to form the basis of the "Pee-wee Herman Show" currently being presented at the Stephen Sondheim Theater on Broadway. HBO said it would tape its new "Pee-wee" special immediately after the show's Broadway run ends on Jan. 2; a broadcast date wasn't announced.

So crazy … The Pee-Wee Herman Show started as stage performance that was broadcast on HBO then got turned into a TV series for kids (Pee-Wee’s Playhouse) which then got turned back into a stage show that will be, once again, broadcast on HBO. If the course trajectory holds, Pee-Wee Herman might get another kids’ show sometime soon. David and I were very lucky to get to see this new live version of The Pee-Wee Herman Show when it opened here in LA last January … and we had a blast! I’m sure the folks in NYC are enjoying it as well. Now, all the other folks who weren’t able to see the show live will at least get to see it on HBO next year. This is great news, yeah? Pee-Wee fans gotta be geeked about this news.

Heidi Klum & Seal Brave The Torrential Rain For Xmas Shopping

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 09:43 AM PST

While much of the US is dealing with bitter cold and Europe is dealing with tons of snow, we here in SoCal have been getting drenched for the past week by continuous rainfall. I’m not even exaggerating, the rain hasn’t stopped falling for days (and we’re due for another 12 inches today and tomorrow)! Still, Xmas shopping stops for no man … or celebrity. Happily marrieds Heidi Klum and Seal dug out their umbrella and slipped on their rubber boots to do a bit shopping here in LA yesterday.

This kind of rain isn’t really new here in SoCal, despite the fact that people always like to forget. It may not rain here for most of the year but when it does rain (in the Wintertime) it tends to pour for days on end. I came home from a long visit to NYC when David was still living there to find half of my living room carpet soaked because water had seeped in under the wall. BUT, despite the rain … people are getting out of the house to take care of things. I’ve never seen so many umbrellas in LA before … but people do own them. With four kiddies and countless family and friends to shop for, it’s really cool to see Heidi and Seal braving the rain to do their own shopping (rather than sending out assistants and lackeys to do the dirty work). I predict the rain will stop falling by Xmas this weekend … at least, that’s what I’m asking of jolly ol’ Saint Nick.

A Very Snoop Dogg Xmas

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 09:14 AM PST

Snoop Dogg teamed up with Pepsi Max to star in a new promo video for the company that features the rapper reading his own version of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. As you might imagine, the classic holiday tale is updated with Snoop‘s trademark flair and, naturally, includes product placement by Pepsi.

As far as commercials go, this one is pretty damn entertaining. Let’s be honest, anything with Snoop Dogg in it is going to be worth checking out … but this Xmas video is fun, funny and kinda cute. I, personally, love the shout out to his Jewish friends ;) Behold … the video:

The thing I like most about this video is that it’s not all that commercialized. Yes, it’s clear that Pepsi is being sold in the clip but there is enough entertainment Snoop Dogg style that makes the video fun to watch again and again. I’m still an ardent Coca Cola drinker but I gotta give it up to Pepsi for hookin’ up with the Snoop D-O-double-G on this one. Ho, Ho, Ho bitches!

Lindsay Lohan Accused Of Assault By Betty Ford Staffer

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 08:36 AM PST

Yesterday we learned the disheartening news that Lindsay Lohan reportedly threw a party where alcohol was served with a bunch of fellow rehabbers while in a Betty Ford Center Sober Living facility last week. Additionally, Lindsay reportedly visited a bar on the night of this party. Today TMZ is reporting that a female staffer at Betty Ford is alleging that L. Lo assaulted her after she returned from that bar … and she wants to move forward with charges.

Lindsay Lohan is a suspect in a criminal battery investigation and the alleged victim — a staff member at Betty Ford — wants Lindsay prosecuted … this according to law enforcement sources. The Palm Desert Police Department is now investigating an altercation that occurred after Lindsay and her roommates reportedly went to a bar and came back home. Upon arriving at the house, the incident with a female staffer from Betty Ford allegedly went down. The police received a call at 1:03 AM on December 12 for “hand-to-hand battery.” Cops came to Betty Ford after receiving the call and interviewed both the staffer and Lindsay. We’re told the staffer “desired prosecution.” We’re told when the police finish the investigation, the case will be forwarded to prosecutors for review.

TMZ is also reporting Lindsay‘s side of the story. According to “sources close to” Lohan, it was the female staffer who first put her hands on Lindsay and that is what started the physical altercation:

Lindsay is telling people close to her … the drama unfolded when she arrived to the BFC on December 12 roughly ten minutes after her curfew. Lindsay claims when she walked into the BFC — a female staff member was “unfairly” scolding her about the situation … and demanded the actress take a drug/alcohol test. We’re told it was during the heated exchange that the woman “put her hands on Lindsay.” Lindsay claims she told the woman, “Take your hands off of me” and then “pushed back” … We’re told Lindsay feels the staffer has had it out for her for a while … and with LiLo reaching the end of her stay at the clinic, the actress believes the staffer was looking for a final confrontation.

For once, it would be nice to hear Lindsay take responsibility for something. It’s entirely possible that this female staffer initiated physical contact first but it’s not so easy to believe when you consider that nothing that ever happens is Lindsay‘s fault. I doubt anything will come of this incident but … the whole matter is really disheartening. I don’t know that any of this sounds like Lindsay has learned much from her rehab stint. I’m amazed that Lindsay is allowed to leave rehab with a midnight curfew … are you kidding me? AND, she can’t even return in time for curfew??? It’s a shame that Lindsay‘s rehab stint is starting to look like a joke … cuz I was really starting to believe that she was getting better.

Should this assault case go before a judge, Lindsay could actually get sent back to jail. I HIGHLY doubt it will come to that but … ugh, what a dumb way to risk one’s freedom.

Chris Brown Graduates

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 07:54 AM PST

Last month, Pink reader Tori sent us a few photos of Chris Brown, who was convicted of assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna in August of 2009, serving some of his Community Service hours by cleaning up the alleyways of Virginia. Today we learn that Chris has successfully completed his court-ordered year-long domestic-violence course and he proudly shared the news on his official Twitter profile.

Chris Brown was so proud about finishing his yearlong, court-ordered domestic-violence class that he posted his certificate of completion online on Monday. “im done with class,” the singer, 21, wrote on Twitter, with a link to a photo of the certificate. He later added another post, reflecting on how he’s changed since being convicted of felony assault against his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009. “i have enough self respect and decency to be proud of accomplishing this DV class,” Brown wrote. “Boyz run from [their] mistakes. Men learn from them!!!”

Without question, Chris Brown became persona non grata when it was discovered that he brutally assaulted Rihanna … for the most part, he was dead to me. I’m still not a fan … but I am very happy to see that Brown continues to work on redemption. The scope of his crime should never be forgotten but I suppose he deserves credit for the work he’s been doing to pay for his crimes. I was encouraged by the photos we saw last month of Chris fulfilling his Community Service hours and I am even more encouraged by this news of his domestic-violence course completion. He still has a long way to go to pay back his debt to society but if he continues to work hard toward that goal, he may actually learn the long hard lessons that could keep his violence in check.

Billy Ray & Tish Cyrus Plan To Sell Their Mansion

Posted: 21 Dec 2010 07:20 AM PST

The multi-million dollar mansion in Toluca Lake, CA where former Miley Cyrus boyfriend/underwear model Justin Gaston spent his formative years is about to be put up for sale. As you may recall, Billy Ray and Leticia Tish Cyrus announced back in October that they are divorcing (amid rumors that Tish cheated with Bret Michaels), therefore, they no longer need to own a home together.

Sources connected with Miley Cyrus’ family tell TMZ … Billy Ray and Tish will put their Toluca Lake home on the market — we’re told probably for more than $7 million. Billy Ray filed for divorce October 26. But get this … sources tell TMZ that more than three months ago Tish, looked at a home listed in nearby Encino for $4.6 million.

And so … the end of an era. The Cyrus family, in happier times, pretty much ruled Toluca Lake in the good ol’ days. The family, in various configurations, could be spotted walking together, bike-riding together and just plain hangin’ out all over town. But, alas, now that love is no longer in the equation and Billy Ray and Tish no longer want to be married to one another … those happy days are no more. I guess Miley will have to find a place of her own to smoke whatever it is that she likes to smoke … oh, waitaminute … she’s already found a place.
