Steve Harvey: Men Can't Be Friends With Women?!

Well here's an interesting convo.  Especially around the Holidays when you see all those exes and "friends" again back home and start to wonder if it could work again. Steve Harvey appeared on CNN to promote his new book 'Straight Talk, No Chaser.' Find out what he had to say about males having female friends when you read on...

 

Steve sat down with CNN's Fredricka Whitfield to talk about his new book on relationships.  I guess hes been deemed the expert after his "Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man" book. Watch the video to see his viewpoint on why males can't have female friends.

 

 

Do you agree with Steve? Is it impossible for a male to have a true female friend?  Now I wasn't the biggest Steve Harvey fan after his previous book seemed to just spew common sense at women and expected them to literally buy into. But I admit, I agree with Steve and it's been my philospohphy that after a certain age--males and females who just met cannot be strictly friends.  Meaning--at least 1 party is always willing to be sexually interested to some extent.  Whether they admit it or not.

After performing Saturday night with U2, Jay-Z and Beyonce' woke up at their posh hotel in Perth, Australia to take in the sights.  Pics of the couple chillin' on the balcony when you read on...

 

Yeah we see you Bey.  Can't tell if this polka dotted and tank top look are her jammies or a real outfit seeing that she's rocking a necklace.  But she's makeup free and looking extra laid back.  Must be nice to kick it on the other side of the world with your hubby and not have to promote anything.  Work hard, play harder.  Not mad at all.

EVENT FAB: Nelly's 5th Annual Black And White Ball

Nelly threw his 5th Annual Black And White Ball last night and his "good friend" Ashanti was there on his arm to give him support again.  Pics of the non-couple, J.D., and others at the ball inside...

 

 

Nelly's 5th Annual Black And White Ball was held last night at the Chase Park Plaza in St Louis, MO.

The man of the hour seemed to have a great time.  It was all in the name of giving back to his hometown.

He was joined by his boy Jermaine Dupri.


 


 

And JD also DJ'd the event.

Ashanti looked fab for her man's event.  Excuse me, her good friend's event.
 

Darryl "D.M.C." McDaniels was there.  

He later performed.

NFL PLayer Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams was there too.

 

Later in the evening, Ashanti switched outfits and headlined the show.

 
 

I guess they did "Body On Me" together.  Well aren't the cute.

PARTY PEOPLE: Vanessa & Angela Simmons, Ameriie, Keri Hilson, & More Party Through The Weekend

Weekends were made for partying.  And that's just what the YBF folks did.  Vanessa and Angela Simmons hit up the Blush Boutique Nightclub at the Wynn in Vegas this weekend.

 

We've got the pics of them and others partying elsewhere when you read on...

The sisters were in town to help Ne-Yo and his the Compound Foundation's Annual Giving Tour provide shoes and clothing donations. In addition, Angela and Vanessa will also donate $1 for every Krump It sneaker sold online from December 10th - January 10th at Lovepastry.com to the Compound Foundation.  Sweet!

 

Ameriie rolled into Miami to party at Play nightclub in Miami with her fiance Lenny.  It was her sister Angela's b-day (on left in pic below) and they went out to have some fun:

And her man.

And over in D.C. Saturday night, Keri Hilson and Raheem DeVaughn were on hand to celebrate Big Tigger's birthday bash at The Park.

And Jamie Foxx rolled through too.  Fun times.

Tiny, the R&B writer/producer/reality star and wife of T.I., recently sat for a photoshoot with Sister 2 Sister magazine and we have the pics for you.  See the photos inside....

 

Tameka "Tiny" Cottle is has been teaming up again with members of her former popular female r&b group Xscape.  And she's been doing photoshoots and such trying to stay in the limelight.  And now she's in the new issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine on stands now.    Here's the pics:

Keri Hilson rolled into Philly to perform for Kendra G.'s show and her own listening party.

She's really trying to promote this album I see.

Elsewhere in Philly, Diddy hosted the 2010 Joy To The World Fest Black Tie Gala at the Ritz Carlton in Philly.

He had Kendra G and Jermaine Dupri and Fabolous in the mix.

Waka Flocka Flame Talks About The House Raid + Charles Hamilton Punches A Cop

The big news last week was the raid of Waka Flocka Flame's home in Georgia.  Now we have an interview with Waka where we get his side of the story.  See what he has to say inside plus get the deets on Charles Hamilton's arrest...

 

In a recent radio interview with Jenny Boom Boom’s show on CT’s 93.7, Waka Flocka Flame talked about the house raid.  Waka said he was in court for traffic tickets when his road manager told him that his house had been raided.  Here's what he had to say:

On reports police were searching for info relating to gangs -

Waka said he is a rapper not a gang banger.  That would be hustling backwards.

On Gucci Mane -

A day after the incident. Waka wasn't sure what happened to Gucci Mane.  He couldn't answer questions about whether Gucci was handcuffed or released.

On being name to MTV's top rappers list -

Waka was surprised because he does not consider himself a lyrical rapper.  After the news came out, he watched the blogs for two hours to see how many haters he got.

On being successful -

Waka does not consider himself a success.  He says he would consider himself successful if he had 7 or 8 successful businesses going.

On mixtapes -

Waka likes mixtapes more than albums.  He says rappers go harder on tapes.

 

Luckily we have the full interview for you because to be honest, it's hard to understand most of what he says thanks to his special dialect.

NY rapper Charles Hamilton was arrested in Ohio last week for assault.   The streets are saying he caused a disturbance in a bar, and when confronted by a cop, he hit the officer in the face. SMH.  He is still in custody with bail set at $25,000.

Lisa Raye's Daughter Kai Morae Celebrates 21st Birthday

Kai Morae, the daughter of Lisa Raye, and star of TV ONE's "The Real McCoy" celebrated her 21st birthday and we have pics for you inside...

 

 

Kai Morae of "The Real McCoy" celebrated her 21st birthday at the Chicago nightclub, The Shrine, on Saturday night with 21 of her closest friends.  

 

Such a pretty gal.

 

Kai said the new season finished taping a few days ago, and the new shows will premier in April 2011 on TV-One. "Expect more drama and hilarious moments than the first season," Kai guaranteed.
