Rush Limbaugh Gives Half-Ass Apology For Calling Law Student A 'Slut'

Posted: 04 Mar 2012 12:40 PM PST

UGH.

Right wing radio host Rush Limbaugh is under fire for calling Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute" after she came out in support of health insurers being required to offer birth control to their subscribers (watch above).

In case you missed it, these were his exact words last Wednesday:

"What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute."

Disgusting.

But, looks like he (kinda) had a change of heart after four of his sponsors, including LegalZoom and Quicken Loans, severed their ties with his show. He decided to "make amends" by posting the following half-ass apology on his website:

"For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.

I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit?

In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone's bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.

My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices."

Still not good enough.

Oprah Wins! OWN Ratings Are Up!

Posted: 04 Mar 2012 12:00 PM PST

Rejoice!

Ratings for Oprah's network OWN are finally rising!

And it's all because of, well... Oprah!

Since she's been giving herself more face time on the network with her show Next Chapter and other primetime specials, February ratings have risen a pretty impressive 12% in primetime and 29% for the total day.

With her Joel Osteen interview, raking in a record 1.6 million viewers, and her special on Whitney Houston, Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview bringing in almost 1 million viewers, it seems that the channel has finally found its niche.

Basically, just keep Oprah on the air!

LOLz! We could have told ya that!

Lindsay Lohan Thinks She Did A Great Job On SNL

Posted: 04 Mar 2012 11:40 AM PST

Ummmm....

We hate to break it to you, but it wasn't that great.

Even though Lindsay Lohan got pretty bad reviews on her return to SNL, the actress still thinks she did a great job on the show last night.

According to sources, Lindsay knows it wasn't "perfect," but did make excuses say that there were several last minute changes, including taking her out much-hyped singing monologue.

Actually, that was probably for the best.

Whether or not you think she bombed, you have to admit, it wasn't SNL's best and we were really hoping she would have done better.

Oh well.

GLAAD Slams Kirk Cameron Over Homophobic Comments

Posted: 04 Mar 2012 09:00 AM PST

After Growing Pains star Kirk Cameron made homophobic remarks during his interview with Piers Morgan, calling homosexuality "unnatural," GLAAD has fired back at the actor/Born Again Christian, calling his views outdated.

Senior Director Herndon Graddick says:

"In this interview, Kirk Cameron sounds even more dated than his 1980s TV character.

Cameron is out of step with a growing majority of Americans, particularly people of faith who believe that their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character and not condemned because of their sexual orientation."

If you missed Kirk's interview, check it out above. Way to go, Piers AND GLAAD, for putting him in his place.

Lindsay Lohan Does Lindsay Lohan In SNL Prison Sketch

Posted: 04 Mar 2012 08:40 AM PST

This sketch isn't a far stretch from Linday Lohan's real life.

In fact, she even plays herself in the "Scared Straight" skit with Kenan Thompson, above.

Is this really all the writers could give her?? She's not exactly spreading her wings here....

Sigh, watch her prison sketch above. It's not pretty. Jason Sudeikis' laughing break is the only redeeming quality here.

P.S. Srsly though, enough with the rape jokes, SNL. Not funny.
