Kirk Cameron Responds To The Backlash Over His Outdated Homophobia!

Posted: 06 Mar 2012 01:20 PM PST

Oh here we go!!

Kirk Cameron has released a statement in response to the backlash given over the homophobic views he expressed to Piers Morgan.

Throwing it back on everyone, because ya know, he definitely shouldn't be held accountable when he says homosexuality destroys society, Kirk says those who judge him are just as bad as he is for judging homosexuality.

Welp! He's right when he says everyone is judging him too (for being narrow-minded). But here's the thing - the judgement thrown back on him won't hinder his civil rights. It's the judgement he and others spew that keeps gay Americans from enjoying certain freedoms.

His statement reads:

I spoke as honestly as I could, but some people believe my responses were not loving toward those in the gay community. That is not true. I can assuredly say that it's my life's mission to love all people. I should be able to express moral views on social issues. especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years — without being slandered, accused of hate speech, and told from those who preach 'tolerance' that I need to either bend my beliefs to their moral standards or be silent when I'm in the public square.

Yawn.

As long as his views are hindering civil rights -- such as the right for consenting gay adults to marry -- he should prepare for all the raised eyebrows that come his way.

Those kind of views breed negative actions: bullying, violence, and worse.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, sure. But if those opinions hinder the rights and lives of those who haven't done anything to warrant it, then yeah, you're an asshole!

*That being said, nobody should ever mimic homophobes and physically act on their opinions of Kirk.

Thoughts?

Deplorable! The Game And His Crew Grope A Woman On Stage And Then Throw Her Off For Not Exposing Herself!

Posted: 06 Mar 2012 01:10 PM PST

We cannot even begin to express our complete disgust with this.

An unacceptable violation on so many levels.

During The Game's show in Adeilaide, Australia, he was videotaped bringing a girl from the audience onstage, and despite her being increasingly more uncomfortable and resistant, was coaxed by him to show her chest while members of his crew openly groped her.

And to put the icing on the cake and show the world just how awful he truly is, he finally says "You shouldn't have brought your ass up here," and has his crew throw her off the stage.

Watch (above).

Horrific, disturbing, and truly frightening to think that anyone, let alone someone in the public eye and in full display, would think it's acceptable in any capacity to force a woman into doing something like this, and then encourage it.

We'd like to wonder how he'd feel if a bunch of adult men were doing the same thing to his daughter when she's that age.

Broadway Backwards 7 Breaks The Gender Rules And Raises $320K For Charity!

Posted: 06 Mar 2012 12:20 PM PST

That's how you do it, Broadway babies!

The seventh Broadway Backwards event took place Monday and some of Broadway's heaviest hitters performed during the gender-bending musical night.

The event featured same sex pairings in normally heterosexual duets, leaving the words and lyrics mostly unchanged. The event raises LGBT awareness as well as gives the gay community a chance to see their life stories played out on stages.

Plus, who doesn't want to see King of Siam and Anna as men?!

Broadway babe Telly Leung summed up the night beautifully:

The whole concert is about looking at things in a different way and re-examining preconceptions of not only theatre music, but [also] preconceptions of 'alternative lifestyles.' Hopefully people walk away from the theatre and do that in their lives the way we re-examine the songs—re-examine our lives and how we see the world.

Other Broadway superstars that performed include Robin de Jesús, Betty Buckley and Andrew Rannells. The event raised $320K for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, capping off a FABulous night!

Check out the video above to see how performers prepared for the a-mazing event!

Glee Stars Were Touched That Brad Pitt & George Clooney Supported 8

Posted: 06 Mar 2012 12:10 PM PST

As were we all! Nothing like the two hottest men in the world to bring the kind of audience and attention this production so definitely deserved.

The 2010 federal court case over Proposition 8 was turned into a magnificent production by Dustin Lance Black and this week, some of Hollywood's hottest stars stepped in to read pivotal parts for the play. Names like Jamie Lee Curtis, Christine Lahti, George Takei, John C. Reilly, Martin Sheen, Matt Bomer and Jesse Tyler Ferguson mingled with the Glee trio Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer and Matthew Morrison in the production, as well as marveled at the star power of Brad Pitt and George Clooney, who so happily offered their celebrity to the important piece.

Their work in the show not only inspired the audience, but their fellow cast members, including their friends from Glee. Following the performance, Jane raved:

"I was so moved that they care enough about this issue. I love that they took time out of their incredibly busy schedules to do this… to let the world know what went on in that courtroom. I was really touched and moved to see all these really big stars with fire power up there and advocating for our rights."

While Matt echoed her sentiments, Chris added that he had more than a few jitters when it came to appearing on stage with Brad and George. He gushes:

"[It was] nerve wracking! I'm so glad I was playing someone young on trial, because otherwise I don't know if I could have been like, stoic and played it off like Brad and George did. I was terrified."

Yeah, we would've been too!

Perhaps this could be the start of a wonderful working relationship for you all. Perhaps this play will take off (we can only hope) and people will insist that it be put into production or something. Maybe there will be a time when you'll reunite to perform this piece again. And maybe in that time, gay marriage will finally become legal in the state of California.

Here's hoping.

Rush Limbaugh Loses More Than 20 Advertisers After Calling Law Student A 'Slut!'

Posted: 06 Mar 2012 12:00 PM PST

That's what U get for UR disgusting behavior, Rush!

Despite half-ass apologizing for his words, Rush Limbaugh is losing AT LEAST 20 advertisers after calling Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute" on his show. (above)

Some of the advertisers who have dropped Rush as a result of his deplorable words include the following:

Sensa Weight Loss program, Polcycom telecommunications company, AccuQuote life insurance, Bonobos clothing company, Geico insurance company, John Deere, AOL, Sears, and Allstate.

Aside from losing advertisers, Rush's show is also getting pulled by some radio stations, including WBEC in Pittsfield, Mass. and KPUA in Hilo, Hawaii.

We don't feel bad for him AT ALL. His words were horrendous and inexcusable.

Zac Efron, Conan, And LaBamba Are The Boy Band Of The Future

Posted: 06 Mar 2012 11:50 AM PST

Well....we wish!!

After Zac Efron admitted on Conan Monday night that he used to sing Beach Boys with his friends on the streets of France, the cheeky host asked Efron to join himself and LaBamba in a rendition of Barbara Ann.

And you know what? It's pretty good! Can we see more Conan/Efron/LaBaba collaborations in the future? YES PLEASE.

We even came up with a name for the group: Conan O'Brian And His Ginger Sideburns!

Check out the hilarious video (above). What do U think of their melodious cover?
