A Happy Ryan Phillippe Goes Shopping For Amanda Seyfried

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 06:32 PM PST

Last month we saw the first photos of newish couple Ryan Phillippe and Amanda Seyfried out and about in public together … and I think it’s safe to assume that they will still be a couple for Valentine’s Day next week. Yesterday, Ryan was spotted doing a bit of shopping for Amanda at the ubertrendy Zadig & Voltaire … I wonder what he got her.

Ryan sure looks happy in these photos … see what the love of a good woman can do for you? I’m guessing that Amanda will be just as happy when she opens this VD gift next week ;) As I said before, I love them as a couple … is it time we start calling them RyFried?

Watch: Kylie Minogue Releases Tour Dance Rehearsal Footage

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 05:23 PM PST

We are just weeks away from the start of Kylie Minogue‘s Les Folies Tour 2011 and today we get to see some fun behind-the-scenes dance rehearsal footage released by Kylie herself. While her state of the art concert stage is being built elsewhere, Kylie and her troupe of dancers are gettin’ down the moves that will wow the crowds when they hit the road.

Even tho we here in North America will NOT get the same state of the art stage that the European audience will see, I’m certain we will still get to see the same dance moves. Here is video of Kylie and her dancers rehearsin’ their new moves:

I am so excited!! David and I will be seeing Kylie and her Les Folies Show LIVE in Berlin, Germany on March 1 and we are VERY excited :) Once we return home from our 5 year anniversary trip to Germany, we will see Kylie a couple more times here in LA and in Las Vegas. This little tease has really gotten me excited for the show. Wee!!

Justin Bieber (Kinda) Does ‘Mad’ Magazine

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 04:29 PM PST

Justin Bieber has been gettin’ his fair share of magazine covers & photospreads and we all know now that he is now dating up with Selena Gomez … but today we get to see how Mad magazine is paying tribute to the tween heartthrob. Mad magazine character Alfred E. Neuman channels his inner Biebs on the cover of the new issue of the mag.

Fresh off appearances on SNL and in a Super Bowl commercial with Ozzy Osbourne, the ubiquitous Justin Bieber — who has a feature-length film coming out Friday — has been given the Alfred E. Neuman makeover on the cover of MAD magazine’s latest issue. Next to the Bieber caricature — complete with his purple hoodie and hair combed over his eyes — it says: “HIS STUPID HAIR! HIS DUMB BOOK! HIS TERRIBLE MOVIE! HIS AWFUL MUSIC!” The 16-year-old heartthrob also has appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair. “That was probably the highlight of his career and being on the cover of MAD is the lowlight,” MAD Editor-in-Chief John Ficarra told The Associated Press. “He’ll hate it and buy every copy, and it will be a sellout. Or, conversely, Bieber won’t even notice and we’ll probably sell three copies of the issue.”

LOL! Dude … he’s finally made it. I used to LOVE Mad magazine when I was a little kid. Between the ages of 8 and 12, I really felt that Mad was the only magazine that I felt was truly mine. Even tho I couldn’t have a subscription, I made sure to pick up new copies as they came out on monthly visits to Sentry Drugs (then, I would go over to Woolworth’s and spend the rest of my money on action figures … that is, until I go into music and started buying 7″ records and cassette tapes). I may not be a fan of Bieber‘s music (at all) but I can’t hate on the kid if Mad magazine is giving him props.

Cynthia Nixon & Fiancee Christine Marinoni Welcome The Birth Of A Baby Son

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 03:15 PM PST

It’s a boy for Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni! Marinoni gave birth to the couple’s son, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, on Monday, Feb. 7, Nixon’s rep confirms. “Christine and baby are doing great,” her rep tells PEOPLE. Jude Law & Sienna Miller Are Dunzo!

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 02:00 PM PST

Sad news to pass along today … Jude Law and Sienna Miller have broken up, again. Just yesterday I was wondering aloud why Jude and Sienna had not been seen together lately and now we know why … the couple have decided to call it quits! According to a official confirmation made to People magazine, the split is amicable. Sad but true, JuSie is dunzo!

They were hot and heavy over the summer, and still vacationing together after Christmas, but perhaps winter iced over this relationship: Jude Law and Sienna Miller have split up, PEOPLE has learned. “It is mutual and amicable and they are still friends,” a friend of the actors says. According to the friend, the pair separated several weeks ago. “It was an entirely an end-of-the relationship decision,” the friend says. “It had run its course.” Adds a rep for Law: “I can confirm that Jude Law and Sienna Miller are no longer in a relationship.”

Wow! And just as suddenly as they hooked up again, they are over … again. You may recall that we learned back in December that the couple bought a new place together. So either one of the two of them will keep the new London flat or they’ll have to unload it and part ways. I was sure that Jude and Sienna were headed for the altar together … they were very happy for well over a year now. But now … over. Let’s pour one out for our dearly departed JuSie. What a bum out :(

Dina Lohan Is Pissed That ‘Glee’ Keeps Making Fun Of Her

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 12:50 PM PST

If you caught the Super Bowl episode of Glee on Sunday night, you may have noticed (and then laughed your ass off) that the show poked fun at Lindsay Lohan‘s mother Dina Lohan by referring to her as one of the Losers of the Year. Yeah, well, Dina noticed as well and she is pissed that Glee keeps making fun of her. Last year, they made a joke at Lindsay‘s expense calling her “crazy” and now they’ve dubbed Dina a “loser”. Dina has gone on the record to publicly voice her displeasure.

Dina Lohan is calling a flag on the play after Glee's Super Bowl episode took a dig at her (and her imaginary dog "Sparky"). At the close of the special Glee outing (which was watched by some 26 million viewers), guest-starring newswoman Katie Couric informed Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester that she had been named "Loser of The Year," beating out the likes of Mel Gibson, Tiger Woods and LiLo's famous-ish mom. The Lohan family matriarch took issue with the mention, griping to E! Online that the Fox series "has targeted everyone, from gays to lesbians, Asians, [and the] disabled." Though if one actually stops to review that list, Glee has actually done right by most of the groups. Nonetheless, DiLo — who vented earlier this season when Glee teach Holly Holiday (played by Gwyneth Paltrow) made light of LiLo's rehab stints — goes on to say that such snark is "a shame…. [T]he writers need to be nice and more creative, as opposed to being hurtful. They are sending the wrong message to the youth that are watching." Lohan even pulled Couric herself into the nontroversy, noting, "She has a short memory [since] the tabloids were trashing her a few years ago — and she's a mom!"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Yeah, Dina is pissed that she got a shout-out on a national television show? My ass. I fervently believe that Dina is relishing the fact that we are even talking about her at all. She is a joke, one worth laughing at. What ISN’T a laughing matter is the deep trouble that daughter Lindsay has gotten herself into. TMZ is reporting that she will be formally charged for Felony Grand Theft tomorrow … news that L. Lo was undoubtedly aware of when she made her visit to her probation officer in Santa Monica, CA earlier today:

TMZ has learned … Lindsay Lohan will be charged with felony grand theft tomorrow. Sources connected with the case tell us … the single count of felony grand theft will be filed at Airport Court in L.A. Wednesday morning. Lindsay will be arraigned at 1:30 PM. She must be present for the hearing. Lindsay will be charged with stealing a $2,500 necklace from an L.A. jewelry store. If convicted, she could be sent to California State prison.

Who’s laughing now? Dina should concern herself with her daughter’s tragic life over anything else. Parent your children Dina and just be quiet.

The Nine Inch Nails Masterpiece Collection

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 12:22 PM PST

After a pretty bizzy weekend, I decided to chill out at home and keep things nice and quiet … so it was the perfect time to rock out to the 3 best Nine Inch Nails albums of all time. I’ve been fortunate to find vinyl copies of The Downward Spiral, The Fragile and Year Zero and last night was my time to listen to them all in full, in sequence.

Without a doubt, NIN is my all time fave band of all time. Listening to these masterpiece albums on vinyl just reminded me of the genius of Nine Inch Nails. I have never listened to these albums in order on vinyl before and it was truly fantastic. We are so lucky to have NIN music … and luckier still that Trent Reznor continues to make new music. The Year Zero vinyl is really freakin’ cool … the B side of the second LP is etched with a really cool design. There is no music on this side, just the cool etching. i’m not sure how your Monday night turned out but mine was really fun. If you get the chance, I highly recommend that you listen to NIN on vinyl … it will take your love of the music to a whole other level.

Britney Spears Pushes Back The Release Date For ‘Femme Fatale’

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 10:46 AM PST

Welp Britney Spears fans, I got some good news / bad news for you. The good news is that today we get to check out a NEW promo photo of our dear Britney. The bad news is that Jive Records has just announced that her new album Femme Fatale, which was due to be released on March 15, has been pushed back 2 weeks with a new release date of March 29.

Britney Spears' highly anticipated seventh studio album Femme Fatale is confirmed to be released on March 29th. The "Hold It Against Me" video directed by Jonas Åkerlund will premiere on VEVO and will air simultaneously in its entirety on MTV right before a new episode of the network's top-rated Jersey Shore and on MTV.com at 9:56 PM EST on February 17th. Special teasers for the "Hold It Against Me" video have been airing on Britney.com, and will continue to air up to the premiere.

Boo. So now we have to wait an extra 2 weeks to hear Femme Fatale in full (that is, unless the album leaks early … as these things tend to do). Considering the fact that they are still recording and selecting songs for the album, it makes sense that they would want an extra 2 weeks to get everything sorted. Now, as for this new promo photo … I like it but I don’t love it. Britney looks like she’s kinda smiling … but she doesn’t look too happy. I hate to say it but I’ve been less than impressed with the promo photos we’ve been getting. The single cover art for Hold It Against Me is fab … the Femme Fatale coverphoto and now this photo are, well, less than fab. What do y’all think … are you super bummed about the album release delay? What do you think about this new photo?

‘The New York Times’ & ‘LA Times’ Officially Review ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 10:21 AM PST

There is a tradition on Broadway where major news outlets choose not to officially review shows and plays until they officially open for business. But, because producers of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark pushed back their opening night from December, to January, to February to MARCH, news outlets like The New York Times and The LA Times have broken with tradition and published their reviews. Tired of waiting, these news outlets decided to finally chime in and offer their opinions of the show … and unfortch for Turn Off the Dark, neither newspaper had any good things to say about it.

Finally, near the end of the first act of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark," the audience at the Foxwoods Theater on Saturday night got what it had truly been waiting for, whether it knew it or not. Calamity struck, and it was a real-life (albeit small) calamity … No, an honest-to-gosh, showstopping glitch occurred, just as the title character of this new musical was about to vanquish or be vanquished by the evil Green Goblin. Never fully explained "mechanical difficulties" were announced by an amplified voice (not immediately distinguishable from the other amplified voices we had been hearing for what felt like forever), as the actors in the scene deflated before our eyes. And for the first time that night something like genuine pleasure spread through the house. That glee soon took the form of spontaneous, nigh-ecstatic applause, a sound unheard in the previous hour. After vamping on a green fake piano (don't ask), Patrick Page (who plays the Goblin with a gusto unshared by any other member of the cast) ad-libbed a warning to Reeve Carney (who stars as Spider-Man), who had been awkwardly marking time by pretending to drink Champagne. "You gotta be careful," Mr. Page said. "You're gonna fly over the heads of the audience, you know. I hear they dropped a few of them." "Roar," went the audience, like a herd of starved, listless lions, roused into animation by the arrival of feeding time … All subsequent performances of "Spider-Man" should include at least one such moment. Actively letting theatergoers in on the national joke that this problem-plagued show has become helps make them believe that they have a reason to be there. This production should play up regularly and resonantly the promise that things could go wrong. Because only when things go wrong in this production does it feel remotely right — if, by right, one means entertaining. So keep the fear factor an active part of the show, guys, and stock the Foxwoods gift shops with souvenir crash helmets and T-shirts that say "I saw 'Spider-Man' and lived." Otherwise, a more appropriate slogan would be "I saw 'Spider-Man' and slept." I'm not kidding. The sheer ineptitude of this show, inspired by the Spider-Man comic books, loses its shock value early. After 15 or 20 minutes, the central question you keep asking yourself is likely to change from "How can $65 million look so cheap?" to "How long before I'm out of here?" … I would like to acknowledge here that "Spider-Man" doesn't officially open until March 15; at least that's the last date I heard. But since this show was looking as if it might settle into being an unending work in progress … my editors and I decided I might as well check out "Spider-Man" around Monday, the night it was supposed to have opened before its latest postponement. You are of course entitled to disagree with our decision. But from what I saw on Saturday night, "Spider-Man" is so grievously broken in every respect that it is beyond repair. Fans of Ms. Taymor's work on the long-running musical "The Lion King," adapted from the animated Walt Disney feature, will have to squint charitably to see evidence of her talent.

Yikes! The full New York Times review can be read HERE. Next up, the review by The LA Times:

Well, it turns out there is a valid reason the producers of "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" have been keeping critics at bay. Julie Taymor’s $65-million, accident-prone production, featuring an erratic score by U2's Bono and The Edge, is a teetering colossus that can't find its bearings as a circus spectacle or as a rock musical. The endlessly postponed official opening was last moved from Feb. 7 to March 15, but the battle over health care reform has a better shot at being resolved before the manifold problems of this frenetic Broadway jumble get fixed. In the meantime, "Spider-Man" has been making lucrative lemonade out of all the lemons the media has thrown an embarrassing spotlight on … But the time has come to assess the work, not the hullabaloo surrounding it. So much emphasis has been placed on the technological hurdles, the notion that "Spider-Man" is trying things that have never been attempted before in a Broadway house. What sinks the show, however, has nothing to do with glitches in the special effects. To revise a handy little political catch phrase, "It's the storytelling, stupid." And on that front, the failure rests squarely on Taymor's run-amok direction. This is, after all, her vision, and it's a vision that has been indulged with too many resources, artistic and financial. The production, lacking the clarity that’s born out of tough choices, adds when it should subtract, accelerates when it should slow down. Taymor's inventive staging of "The Lion King" was a victory for the craft and commerce of theater alike. But the investors of "Spider-Man" have inadvertently bankrolled an artistic form of megalomania.

Yeah, you get the gist. The full text of the LA Times review can be read HERE.

As I fear, it sounds like the show is all spectacle with no story … the fact that it took 2 months after previews began for the show to come up with an ending is very troubling to me. In response to these reviews, a spokesperson for Turn Off the Dark has gone on the record to bitch and moan about the “early” reviews:

"The PILE-ON by the critics was ridiculous and uncalled for. Their actions are unprecedented and UNCOOL!"

LOL!! Not only is the show the joke of Broadway (and the world of theater over all) but the responses these morons make publicly are even worse! I generally agree with reviews by The New York Times so I’m worried y’all, especially since David and I will be seeing the show in a few weeks. That being said, and I’m kind of ashamed to admit it, David and I are still very much looking forward to seeing Turn Off the Dark precisely for the reason that the Times makes clear in their review … we kinda want to see something go wrong. This show is about the spectacle and the most attractive thing about it (except to die hard Spider-Man fans) is the promise (yes, PROMISE) that the show is flawed and that something could go wrong at any moment. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is making money, yes, but I’m convinced it won’t make back the $65 million that it cost to create. The producers may be smiling now about all the sold out shows but in the long run, I’m telling you, this show will be remembered as the biggest joke Broadway has ever seen … I know this because it has already become a laughing stock joke … and it hasn’t even officially opened yet.

Starting May 21, the cast of Glee — including newcomers Darren Criss and Chord Overstreet — will perform in 16 cities across North America … just like they did fabulously last Summer.

On the heels of blockbuster ratings for the post-Super Bowl episode Sunday night, Twentieth Century Fox Television and "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy are pleased to announce that the critically acclaimed "Glee Live! In Concert!," starring 13 members of the television show's cast, will return to North American concert stages this spring. Beginning Friday, May 21 at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, "Glee" stars Lea Michele (Rachel), Cory Monteith (Finn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Chris Colfer (Kurt), Kevin McHale (Artie), Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina), Mark Salling (Puck), Dianna Agron (Quinn), Naya Rivera (Santana), Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike), Chord Overstreet (Sam) and Darren Criss (Blaine) will perform in an all-new singing and dancing celebration of the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning show. The North American engagement of "Glee Live! In Concert!," is a unique concert experience once again conceived by Murphy that will include live performances of some of the show's most memorable musical numbers from Seasons One and Two, including "Empire State of Mind," "Toxic," "My Life Would Suck Without You," "It's My Life," and of course, the show's anthem, "Don't Stop Believin'." Described by the Los Angeles Times as "triumphant," USA Today called last year's concerts "equal parts musical theater, giddy pop culture phenomenon and Journey-loving rock show." "The cast and I were so moved by the love and enthusiasm of our fans at last year's concerts that we knew we had to do it again," said Murphy. "There is something magical about thousands of 'Gleeks' coming together to share a special night with our cast, and this tour is one way we can thank them for their unbelievable support from the beginning." "Joining the cast this year has been like hopping on a fast-moving train," commented Overstreet. "I have already had so many incredible experiences, but the chance to perform live on stages across the U.S., Canada and Europe takes the cake. This is too cool." "Joining the cast of 'Glee' has been an amazing, rewarding and humbling experience all at once," added Criss. "On top of all of that, I'm fortunate to play such a strong and interesting character like Blaine that speaks volumes to fans. Eva Longoria & Eduardo Cruz Get SMOOCHY On Their Very Own Love Boat

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 09:36 AM PST

Eva Longoria and her new man Eduardo Cruz spent another day on their own personal Love Boat off the coast of Miami, FL taking their burgeoning relationship into new territory. On Sunday, we saw photos of Eva and Eduardo just chillin’ together. Yesterday, we saw photos of the pair chillin’ together … the morning after they spent the night together on their yacht. Today, we get to see new photos of the pair gettin’ cozy on their boat … even sharing a few smooches along the way.

As if there were any doubt, Eva and Eduardo are hookin’ up! Yeah it’s kinda soon after Eva‘s divorce from husband Tony Parker became official (just last week) but, hello, have you seen how cute Eduardo is? I can’t blame her one bit. Rebound relationships rarely turn into anything significant but … well, there’s a first time for everything ;)

Watch: Christina Aguilera Proves That She Knows The Words To The National Anthem

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 08:23 AM PST

On Sunday the world watched (well, only 111 million people, to be exact) as Christina Aguilera flubbed the lyrics to The Star-Spangled Banner as she performed out national anthem live in front of Super Bowl XLV and poor Xtina has been catching heck for it ever since. Today, TMZ brings us video from her Super Bowl rehearsal last Saturday that proves not only that Xtina knows the words to the song but that she is actually capable of giving an amazing performance of the song.

Christina Aguilera sang an UNBELIEVABLE rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” during Super Bowl rehearsals — one of the best ever — and she was so confident in her performance, she didn’t even finish the song!!! TMZ obtained footage of the National Anthem rehearsals — shot Saturday in Cowboys Stadium. Christina not only gets all of the lyrics correct — but the delivery was Whitney Houston-esque.

Watch the rehearsal video below:

It’s pretty clear that Xtina got caught up in nerves and that is why she messed up the words. I LOVE this rendition … it has a few flourishes but none that I find particularly irritating and/or grating. Xtina, we love you … just chill a bit on the exaggerated singing and you will be fine. This video is great, ain’t it?

First Look: Meryl Streep As Margaret Thatcher

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 08:00 AM PST

It looks like legendary actress Meryl Streep is ready to collect a few new award trophies for acting because today we get our first look at her in full make-up as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the upcoming biopic The Iron Lady based on the famed politician’s life. As you recall, in recent years Streep previously transformed herself into an Anna Wintour-like character for The Devil Wears Prada and almost completely into Julia Child for the film Julie & Julia. Now, Meryl will become the Iron Lady herself.

The very first image of Meryl Streep as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady has been released. The film tells the compelling story of Margaret Thatcher, a woman who smashed through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated world. The story concerns power and the price that is paid for power, and is a surprising and intimate portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman. "The prospect of exploring the swathe cut through history by this remarkable woman is a daunting and exciting challenge. I am trying to approach the role with as much zeal, fervour and attention to detail as the real Lady Thatcher possesses – I can only hope my stamina will begin to approach her own!" Meryl Streep said. The Iron Lady stars Meryl Streep as Lady Thatcher and Jim Broadbent as Denis Thatcher. Their young selves are played by Alexandra Roach and Harry Lloyd. The rest of the cast of family and friends, politicians and advisers, is made up of the very best of British acting talent, including: Olivia Colman, Nicholas Farrell, Susan Brown, Roger Allam, Anthony Head, Julian Wadham, Pip Torrens, Nick Dunning, Richard E Grant, David Westhead, Angus Wright and John Sessions. Shooting began on location in the UK on 31st January 2011

Meryl looks amazing! Without question, Meryl Streep is one of the finest actors alive today … but when she transforms herself into a character, she really becomes the character:

Her Julia Child was nothing short of uncanny. It’s clear Streep has the Thatcher look down … I cannot wait to see this film. What do y’all think of Meryl Streep‘s new look as Margaret Thatcher?

Victoria Beckham FINALLY Shows Off Her Baby Bump

Posted: 08 Feb 2011 07:31 AM PST

At last!! At last!! Victoria Beckham finally came out of relative seclusion in London earlier today and finally showed off her burgeoning baby bump. Unfortch, Vicki B‘s belly is not yet protruding with any significance so we can’t really see anything … but we do know that there is a tiny Beckham growing inside her tummy so … yay!

VB made her way thru London’s Heathrow airport earlier today on her way to NYC ahead of Fashion Week and was forced to show off her growing bump. As you can see, there isn’t really anything to see. If we didn’t know she was pregs, these photos would look no different than the ones we always see of her walking thru the airport. Even still, we know a baby is on the way so this is significant because it is our first look at her tummy since we learned of her pregnancy. Baby Beckham #4 is due to be born this Summer … so let the Bump Watch continue!
