will.i.am Talks About The Song He Wrote For Britney Spears’s New Album

Earlier today we learned that singer/songwriter/producer will.i.am worked with Britney Spears on a new song for her new album Femme Fatale and last night will talked a bit about that song. While he was careful not to reveal too much, will did give a bit of info about how the song will sound when we finally get to hear it.


All I know is that if will.i.am is NOT singing on the track then I will prolly love it. I can’t say I’m too excited about Britney‘s collaboration with will but … I guess it’s a done deal. Now … we continue to wait to hear any of the new music from her new album. Does this interview with will.i.am make you excited to hear the track … or not?

Prince Donates $1.5 Million To NYC Schools

After completing a short residency of concert performances on his Welcome 2 America Tour, Prince has decided to donate $1.5 million to 3 arts-oriented NYC schools. The Harlem Children’s Zone, Uptown Dance Academy and the American Ballet Theatre are the lucky organizations that will benefit from Prince‘s generosity.

Although Prince is in the middle of his hugely successful “Welcome 2 America” tour, he took some time to honor his promise to give back to education. His Purple Highness announced that he would be donating $1.5 million to three very deserving three local New York City schools. Prince opened up a $1 million line of credit to the Harlem Children’s Zone, and a $250,000 line of credit to the Uptown Dance Academy and American Ballet Theatre. According to a press release, he set up these amazing lines of credit so he can remain in involved with the school’s needs. “A function of our love for the next generation is instilling in them our own hard-fought knowledge. We can’t wait to see — or only hope for — the future of those coming after us,” Prince said. “We must actively take responsibility for ensuring their success.” Kudos to Prince for giving back.

I love that Prince is giving back some of the money he has made from his NYC concerts to some very deserving kids. It is very easy for celebs of his stature to take take take but it takes a special person to give give give so generously. Prince rulz. Now, if he would just bring his Welcome 2 America Tour to LA, I’d love him even more. Perhaps he can give some of that hard-earned money to schools over here as well?

First Look: Halle Berry On ‘The Simpsons’

The Simpsons are planning a BIG Oscar-themed episode this month and it will feature none other than Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry. Here is our first look at Halle in her Simpsons form.

The Simpsons are going to the Oscars on Fox February 20 (one week before ABC airs the real deal), and 2001 winner Halle Berry will be on stage to present an animated film award. “Bart makes a short film version of his Angry Dad Web series and is up for an Oscar and other awards, but Homer tries to take all the credit,” executive producer Al Jean tells TV Guide Magazine. “Halle starts talking about herself as she’s presenting. She ad-libbed something she actually dreams about at night that we left in.” As for re-creating Berry’s Elie Saab gown, “We always ask the subject to give us a photo they’d like us to work off, and then we give the character an overbite,” says Jean. “It’s hard to make Halle Berry look bad.”

Aww … she looks great. I love this. Despite all the drama going on between Halle and her estranged baby daddy Gabriel Aubrey, it’s nice to see that something positive is going on with her these days. I think Halle Berry will be a great guest star for the show … don’t you?

With all the buzz surrounding the release of Britney Spears‘s new album Femme Fatale, it appears that a new rumor about a possible tour has made its way to the Internets. Now, let’s be real here … her album isn’t even out yet … but still, according to The Mirror, there are plans for our dear Britney to hit the road on a new world tour — with at least one stop in Dublin, Ireland.

Pop sensation Britney Spears is planning a sensational return to Dublin’s O2, The Irish Mirror can exclusively reveal. She is planning a gig in Ireland during her explosive new tour that will kick off later this year. A source close to the star revealed last night: “Brit is back and this tour is going to be bigger than ever. Her new work is going to blow people’s minds and she’s adamant that she wants her Irish fans to get in on the action. This is going to be the comeback of the year – it’s what we’ve all being waiting for – it’s going to be the hottest ticket in town. Britney’s team have already sat down and drawn up a list of countries they want the show to roll into. And the UK and Ireland are top of the list in Europe.” The pop princess, who’s new album Femme Fatale is released on March 15, faced a barrage of criticism when she last performed in Ireland five years ago and mimed her way through the entire show. The star was a huge flop with some fans even demanding their money back claiming they had been “cheated” by the pop princess. But the singer is determined to bounce back. The source said: “She will be singing live this time. Britney wants to win back the support she lost on the last tour. She wants to take people’s breath away with these gigs and she’s going to start rehearsals in August. It’s going to be huge.”

Um … yeah. Trust me, I would LOVE for Britney to tour but … I’m not counting my chickens before they hatch. All of this sounds lovely but, yeah, I don’t believe a word of it … just yet. Do you?

Lindsay Lohan Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ To Felony Grand Theft

Just moments ago, Lindsay Lohan went before Judge Keith Schwartz to enter a plea of Not Guilty to the charge of felony grand theft that was filed against her earlier today here in SoCal. All in all, it is very likely that Lindsay will get off without any consequence by working out a plea bargain arrangement for the theft charge … but because she is currently STILL on probation, she may yet face jailtime for violating the terms of her probation. In open court, Judge Schwartz chided Lindsay and reminded her that she is “just like everyone else”. But, will she listen and take this new warning to heart?

Moments after Lohan entered a not guilty plea in her felony theft case — the judge came down on her like a ton of bricks … telling her “things will be different” this time around because she’s on the hook for a felony. During the hearing, Judge Schwartz said Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, and prosecutor Danette Meyers, were going to meet to possible reach a plea bargain. Lohan — alongside attorney Holley — was then remanded into custody … and is currently being booked. Judge Schwartz set her bail at $20,000 — but warned, “If you violate the law, I will remand you and there will be NO BAIL.” The judge also revoked Lindsay’s probation in the DUI case and set bail at $20,000 — so total bail is $40,000. Lohan was also ordered to refrain from contacting the jewelry store during the case, after Meyers said someone had sent the store owners flowers, which kind of freaked them out.

For the theft charge, I’m convinced that Lindsay doesn’t have anything to worry about. As for the probation violation, well, she prolly should be concerned. You may recall that she was sent to jail a few months ago for violating the terms of her probation. Being charged with a felony while on probation is serious biz. This was the look on Lindsay‘s face when the judge told her that she could be severely punished for violating the terms of her probation:


For now, Lindsay is prolly breathing easy … but we’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out. In the end, even if she does get sent back to jail, she will likely not be incarcerated for very long. Jail overcrowding means that cases like hers aren’t all that important. One thing is for sure … Lindsay‘s life continues to play out like a bad, embarrassing, tragic and sad joke. This girl is so young … and already so haggard in terms of run-ins with the law. Tragedy, they name is Lohan.

Robert Pattinson Gets His Own ‘Water For Elephants’ Movie Poster

Last week we got our first look at the first movie poster for the new film Water for Elephants, starring Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon. Today we get to check out a new poster for the film that prominently features Mr. Heartthrob himself, R. Pattz as well as a brief description of the film.

As a young man, Jacob Jankowski was tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. It was the early part of the great Depression, and for Jacob, now ninety, the circus world he remembers was both his salvation and a living hell. A veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was there that he met Marlena, the beautiful equestrian star married to August, the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. And he met Rosie, an untrainable elephant who was the great gray hope for this third-rate traveling show. Lindsay Lohan Arrives At Court To Face Felony Grand Theft Charges

In a scene that is likely to look very familiar to many of us, Lindsay Lohan showed up at an LA courthouse just moments ago to face felony grand theft charges just filed against her a couple hours ago. As you can see in the screencaps below, Lindsay got herself dressed to the nines for today’s court appearance.


And here we go again. Earlier today we saw photos of Lindsay gettin’ all primped yesterday for today’s court appearance and now we see the fruits of all that labor. Lindsay is in the courthouse right now … as I understand it, Lindsay is being formally arrested, mugshot and processed and then will go before the judge to be formally arraigned on her felony theft charges. After she gets her court date, she will post bail and go home … but, you never know with these sorts of things. I’ll be sure to update a bit later on once all of that goes down. Can you actually believe we’re dealing with another courtroom drama involving Lindsay Lohan so soon after her last courtroom drama?

Earlier today we got our very first look at Ever Imre, newborn son of Alanis Morissette and Mario Souleye Treadway, and right now we get another look at the darling little baby boy. Just hours after Alanis shared the first photo of her son with the work on her official Twitter profile, we get to see new photos of her stepping out here in SoCal with her baby boy for a stroll together … and they BOTH looked absolutely adorable.


Will you PLEASE look at this precious little boy?! He is all eyes, ears and nostrils. What a precious, precious little doll. It looks as if Alanis released the first photo of her son in order to try and deflect attention from the fact that she is ready to go out in public with him. OY! He is just so cute. I hope we get to see more of him out and about with his parents soon. Is Ever not the cutest little boy ever?

Movie Review: ‘The Roommate’

Last night, David and I decided to go to the movies and we chose the #1 movie in the country, The Roommate. Now, despite the questionable things we heard about the flick, I’ve been looking forward to this film ever since it went into production last year. Is The Roommate the best movie ever? No. But, it’s fun as Hell and deffo worth your time.


Chock full of cliches, you’d think that I would’ve hated this movie … but, to be honest, Leighton Meester‘s performance as a crazy stalker chick really makes this movie worth seeing. She is so over the top without actually being over the top annoying. I can’t even being to list the plot holes but, again, the movie really works because Meester is so much fun as the lead crazy chick. I couldn’t get over how similar Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester look in this film … they were perfectly cast. Pretty much everyone in the film comes from a CW TV show (Gossip Girl, 90210, The Vampire Diaries, Hellcats) so it kinda feels like a made for TV movie … but, I love me some cheesy popcorn movies and this is exactly that. We had fun, you may too.

No plans for tonight … just a quiet night in I think. Happy Hump Day :D

Miley Cyrus Does ‘Marie Claire’ Magazine

Miley Cyrus is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Marie Claire magazine and while her fairly stunning photospread is likely to get most of the attention, I am more interested in the interview portion of her appearance. Miley‘s interview with Marie Claire is her first since she got busted smoking a bong full of salvia last year. She does talk a bit about the incident and, surprisingly, she sounds genuinely apologetic.

The subject of “The Bong Incident” (which, in case you have been living under a rock, involved a two-and-a-half-minute video of Cyrus smoking a bong filled with salvia, an herb sold legally in many health-food stores, posted on TMZ in December) has come up, and after she says all the things you expect her to say (“I’m not perfect … I made a mistake … I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans …”), I cannot help but set my journalist hat aside for a minute and say, “But do you really think it was a mistake? Obviously college kids your age all over America are smoking bongs with a lot more than salvia in them.” She looks at me with her big blue baby-doll eyes. “But they’re not Miley Cyrus,” she says. “They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.”

Kids make mistakes … kids do dumb things … Hell, adults do, too. Yes she got busted but at least she apologized and owned up to her actions (unlike some other celebs who always feel victimized and refuse to ever take responsibility). I’m not a Miley fan but I can respect her for this. Now, for those photos … she may have caused quite a stir when she brazenly showed off her bare back in Vanity Fair magazine a couple of years ago but it looks like she’s no longer afraid to show some back skin. She looks lovely in these photos, don’t you think?

William Orbit Confirms That He Is NOT On Britney Spears’s New Album

Yesterday we learned officially that the release date for Britney Spears‘s upcoming new album Femme Fatale has been pushed back from March 15 to March 29, presumably because she is still figuring out the final tracklist and she is deffo still recording tracks for the album. In fact, Britney tweeted yesterday that she recorded a new song with will.i.am (which, IMHO, is very troubling news cuz I’m not a big will.i.am or Black Eyed Peas fan). It was previously presumed that William Orbit would have a song on the album because word got out that he worked on a song for her … but according to Orbit himself, his song will NOT appear on the album … and he has a lot to say about his omission.

In a series of tweet messages on his official Twitter profile, William Orbit discussed at some length his dismay at not being included on Britney‘s new album. Here is the full text of his relevant tweet messages:

Damnit. I was really hoping the William Orbit song was gonna make the cut, he is really fantastic. Orbit is right tho, Dr. Luke is running the show and he gets to pick the people he wants. I am not at all interested in hearing will.i.am on the album. Yes, he can write a good pop song but I do NOT want to hear him singing on Britney‘s album. Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz Are Dunzo!

Whoa! Sad and very surprising news to pass along today … TMZ is reporting that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have split up! Ashlee and Pete would’ve celebrated their 3 year wedding anniversary in May … but instead, Ash has filed for divorce from her Fall Out Boy … just days ahead of Valentine’s Day :( The couple are dunzo, y’all!

TMZ has learned … Ashlee Simpson just filed for divorce from hubby Pete Wentz. In documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Simpson cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. She’s asking for joint legal custody and primary physical custody of two-year-old Bronx. Simpson, who is repped by disso queen Laura Wasser, is also asking for spousal and child support. Wentz is repped by Stacy Phillips. Sources tell TMZ there is no prenup. The couple married in May, 2008.

I kid you not, I actually gasped OUT LOUD when I heard this news. There has never been any indication that I could see that there was anything amiss in the couple’s marriage (they sure looked happy at the US Open last September). In fact, I was always so impressed by how unpublic the couple have been about their relationship. Sure, we see the couple out and about with their son Bronx Mowgli from time to time (like when they went grocery shopping for Thanksgiving last November) but, for the most part, this celebrity couple tended to keep to themselves. Ugh … this is so sad. Altho I remember being a bit concerned at how young the couple got married (and let’s be honest, the fact that Ashlee was pregs with Bronx prolly had a lot to do with the couple’s need to be married), I long ago stop worrying about Ashl33n. Ugh … this is so sad :( What a bummer. Are the Simpson sister’s just cursed or what? I just don’t get it ;(

UPDATE: TMZ has sources that claim that Ashlee just got tired of Pete‘s “erratic behavior”:

Our sources say, no third party is involved. One source very familiar with the situation tells TMZ, “It’s really all about Pete’s erratic behavior.” The source adds, “She really wanted out” … “After Bronx was born Ashlee made a conscious decision to get out of the business, but Pete’s heart was in music so he kept touring and that became a big issue in their relationship.”

Meet The 83rd Annual Academy Award Nominees Class Of 2011

All of the nominees of this year’s Academy Awards met for the annual Oscar Luncheon this week so that they could meet one another, give a few interviews and pose for one, massive group photo. The Academy posted the Oscar Nominees Class Photo on their official Twitter profile and altho it took me a couple of passes, I finally found my favorite Oscar nominee — Trent Reznor — in the sea of nominees (on the far right, Atticus Ross is two people behind him).

Yesterday we saw the FIRST PHOTOS of newly pregnant Victoria Beckham (barely) showing off her burgeoning still non-existent baby bump as she made her way thru London Heathrow airport on her way to NYC. Today we get to see photos from Vicki B‘s arrival in NYC and find that she decided to cover up even more her non-bump. BUT, VB failed to cover up the wallpaper on her £22,000 gold iPhone and proudly showed off the half-nekkid photo of hubby David Beckham reclining in bed as her mobile wallpaper.

Most people would be thrilled just to get their hands on the latest iPhone or Blackberry. But when you are Victoria Beckham, you simply have to go one better. The designer jetted into New York yesterday carrying what may be the ultimate fantasy phone – a custom-made gold iPhone 4 costing a staggering £21,995… with a topless photo of her husband David as the screen background. While smouldering pictures of the handsome sports star are a popular wallpaper option for many women, Victoria’s is likely to be one snapped in the flesh. Victoria flashed her couture cellular as she marched through JFK airport still in the leather trousers, blazer and studded Christian Louboutin heels she left Heathrow in. The 36-year-old matched her gold phone with a striking gold bangle, and also added a warm scarf during the flight … Victoria isn’t showing any hint of a baby bump just yet, and has been sticking to loose-fitting tops during her early pregnancy. Lindsay Lohan Gets Her Hair Did, Gets Ready For Court Arraignment

Yesterday we learned the not-at-all-surprising news that troubled trainwreck Lindsay Lohan will be charged with Felony Grand Theft in an LA courtroom at 1:30 PM PT this afternoon and today we learn that Linds decided to make sure she looks her best before she gets hauled into police custody and charged … again. L. Lo paid a visit to the hair salon yesterday to get her hair did because, I’m sure, she wants to look her best for her NEW mugshot.

The L.A. County District Attorney believes Lindsay Lohan is a seasoned fashion thief, and that’s a primary reason why she’s being prosecuted for felony grand theft. Sources connected to the case tell us … in deciding whether to prosecute, the D.A.’s Office heavily considered 3 incidents where Lindsay allegedly pilfered expensive items:

  • She was suspected of taking a $400,000 necklace in 2009 from an Elle Magazine photo shoot.
  • She was accused of stealing a $12,000 mink coat in 2008 from a NYC nightclub.
  • She was accused of taking a $35,000 Rolex from a “friend” in 2010.

Lindsay was not prosecuted or convicted in the three cases, but sources say prosecutors not only heavily considered the prior incidents in making their decision … they will ask the judge to admit the three incidents into evidence to show “prior bad acts” if the case goes to trial. Our sources say there are two other factors that weighed heavily in the decision to prosecute:

  • Lindsay has had repeated run-ins with the law, including two DUIs.
  • She repeatedly thumbed her nose at the legal system by failing to perform her probation requirements, blowing off court appearances (remember that trip to Cannes?) and acting disrespectfully before the judge (the whole fingernail thing).

As TMZ reported, the D.A. has a surveillance video which shows Lindsay walking out of a Venice, CA jewelry store with the $2,500 necklace in question. The necklace is partially hidden by other trinkets around Lindsay’s neck. Lindsay will be arraigned today at 1:30 PM PT. Lindsay will be in court, accompanied by her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley. Prosecutor Danette Meyers reps the people of the State of California.

Lawdy, Lawdy!! Dear, sweet, totally clueless Lindsay is facing the most serious criminal charges of her life — with the threat of incarceration in State PRISON — and her biggest concern is getting her hair did. What a moron. I am utterly convinced that Lindsay prolly thinks she can just cry and weasel her way out of another mess — and she may — but I know that if I were in her shoes, I’d be crapping my pants with worry. As I understand it, Lindsay will surrender to the police, she will be formally arrested and mugshot (I believe this will be her 5th mugshot?) and then arraigned and charged. She will enter her plea of Not Guilty and then will be able to post bail and be free again. Then the State has to waste tax payer money on a new trial for a later date and we go thru the crazy mess, again, of Lindsay Lohan eating up court time with her careless behavior … but, hey, at least her hair will look good. I wonder what secret message she will paint on her fingernails this time around. HMMM. It seems like only yesterday that we went thru this courtroom bullshizz with her … where does the time go? Stay tuned … we’re about to do this all over again.

In late December we learned the happy news that Alanis Morissette and her husband Mario Souleye Treadway welcomed the birth of a baby boy they named Ever Imre. Last night, Alanis shared the first photo of her precious baby boy on her official Twitter profile.
