Chris Brown Rocks Out "TODAY" & Dismisses Questions About Health & Drama, Drops EXPLICIT "Love More" Video With Nicki Minaj Posted: 30 Aug 2013 08:54 AM PDT Chris Brown, who seemed completely uninterested in doing the pre-show interview with Tamron Hall & Matt Lauer, hit "Today" this morning to rock the stage.  Check out what went down in Rockefeller Plaza and his brand new video for "Love More" with Nicki Minaj.  And yep it's explicit....   As Breezy hit up "Today" to rock the Rockefeller Plaza stage with "Love More," he didn't appear as hype as he usually is.  Not sure if it's exhaustion, health or annoyance, but he completed his performance for his fans.  He wasn't, however, as open in his interview. When Tamron asked if he was OK following his non-epileptic seizure earlier this month in a recording studio, he responded: "I'm good.  Just needed some rest. That's it." And when Matt asked about his latest negative rants on twitter after he told Matt previously he was focusing on the positive, Breezy brushed it off saying, " "It's not my music...I'm more worried about actually loving my fans. He also brushed off the question about whether he will actually quit music.   A recent Twitter rant of his said that his upcoming X album would be his last.  He responded that he's simply only worried about this music right now. "It's about the music right now.  I'll continue to work for my fans." DEEP SIGH: Lamar Odom ARRESTED For DUI! Posted: 30 Aug 2013 08:10 AM PDT Lamar Odom's down turn continues as he was arrested early this morning in the San Fernando Valley.  And he was booked for a DUI after showing obvious signs of intoxication...of some sort.   Details inside... After going too slow (50 mph) on the 101 Freeway at 3:45am PST, Lamar Odom was stopped by Highway Patrol.  And everything went completely downhill from there. According to TMZ, CHP noticed clear signs of Lamar "driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol," and he failed all sobriety tests.  He refused to take to any chemical tests once he was booked. It took Lamar driving 3 exits before he actually decided to pull over once he saw and heard the sirens and flashing lights. As of now, Lamar is being held on $15,000 bail.  Lamar has been in the news lately for an alleged crack addiction.  And supposedly his wife, Khloe Kardashian Odom, is on the verge of splitting but is making a last ditch attempt to help him.   Photo: Fame/Flynet

Beyonce Shot New Video For Upcoming Single "XO" At Coney Island Posted: 30 Aug 2013 07:22 AM PDT Yesterday, we all saw the pics of Beyonce and her crew having some wild times riding high at Coney Island.  We suspected she was filming something.  But now, we can confirm it was indeed a new video for her brand new upcoming single called "XO".... Superstar Beyonce was spotted at Luna Park in Coney Island riding the iconic 86-year-old Cyclone Rollercoaster while filming the music video for her newest song “XO," a rep for Coney Island confirms to TheYBF.com.   Bey showed her love for BK by rocking a Notorious B.I.G. hat as she was screaming it up on the ride with her crew.   She's even got model Jourdan Dunn and her stylist Ty Hunter in on the adventurous vid.  We've also been told by another source that Mrs. Carter has finally wrapped her new album and it already has a name. Before she heads to Philly to headline Day 1 of the Budweiser Made In America Festival on Saturday, the blonde bob rocking Mrs. Carter had some major fun in Brooklyn in Coney Island.  Model Jourdan Dunn, who has a cooking channel on Mr. Carter's Life+Times website, was right there with her.  And so were the cameras.    It's unclear if they were just her own cameras for her own Tumblr page, or if she was doing an actual video or photoshoot.  But the diva looked cute in a tank top and jeans and Prada zip front lug boots as she screamed it out on the wild rides with her stylist Ty Hunter and the rest of her team: Fun times! Chris Brown.   Earlier today, rapper Azealia Banks was seen arriving at BBC Radio 1 Studios in London. We've noticed that the "212" rapper often brags about her "weave" game on Instagram, but we're not so sure about today's selection.  It looks like she snatched a wig off her vintage Barbie.    Back on the music front, Azealia recently dropped the lyric video for her tune "ATM Jam" with Pharrell and we're sure a proper video will be available soon.   And in R&B beefs...... In case you missed it, songwriter/singer Lyfe Jennings has penned a song called "ABCs" which is like a Kendrick Lamar-styled challenge to Anthony Hamilton, Kem, Raheem Devaughn, Musiq Soulchild, and Jaheim about who's the best songwriter in the genre.  Listen to the song here. Though the challenge started off innocent enough, the -ish went left on Twitter.  Lyfe used his timeline to call out Raheem for being a "soft ass nigga".  At one point, Lyfe even hinted that Raheem threatened him "shooters".  But we became skeptical.  Check out some of the slick talk..........    Shortly after we were tipped off about the "Twitter Beef", we were ALSO tipped off about the album release dates of both artists via a conveniently random email. SMH.  The thirst..... We understand that Miley Cyrus' VMA performance is getting everyone's attention, but why do these VERY talented folks have to "create" beefs to drive album sales? SIDEBAR: The "random" email we were sent confirmed that Lyfe's 5th studio album, featuring "Boomerang" is due October 8th while Raheem's A Place Called Loveland is in stores September 3rd.   There you have it. We now know everyone's release date and no one needs to contact their "shooters" or make threats.   And in new music..... Sevyn Streeter, the fab chick who's wrote Chris Brown’s “Fine China,” Ariana Grande’s platinum selling smash “The Way” featuring Mac Miller, and most recently Tamar Braxton’s new single "All the Way Home”, is ready for her close-up. Sevyn (who won two ASCAP songwriting awards in 2012 and one in 2013) is currently in the studio working on her highly anticipated solo debut album and has released her latest single, “It Won’t Stop” features Chris Brown. INTERVIEWS: Pharrell Williams Opens Up About Fianceé Helen Lasichanh, Their SON Rocket & WRITING Hit Songs In The Shower! Posted: 29 Aug 2013 04:30 PM PDT "Blurred Lines" producer Pharrell Williams appeared on the "TODAY" show where he opened up about his fiancee and son--a rare ocassion--and revealed that he writes many of his hits in the shower!  Watch the interview inside....   With 16-Grammy nominations and 3-wins to his credit, producer Pharrell Williams appeared on "TODAY" this morning where he revealed that he's written most of the songs you love ("Blurred Lines", "Milkshake", "Hollaback Girl") in the shower.  "I can write pretty much anywhere, but in the shower it's, like, where it's, like, really great," He added that Nelly's "Hot in Herre" was one of his biggest shower-penned songs. Reflecting on his childhood in Virginia Beach, he said he met his producing partner Chad Hugo at band camp.  He said, "Most of us were kinda nerdy. Nobody sort of walked in, like, you know, Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl-cool." While telling the story of his first encounter with Chad, he joked "One year....when I was at band camp" (inside joke from American Pie). So what does he consider to be his best work? He said, “The best song that I’ve ever co-written was my son.” (referring to his son Rocket, with fiancée Helen Lasichanh).  He even penned a track for his son, called "Rocket", on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack. THEY TRIED IT: Shonda Rhimes Claps Back At Claims "Scandal" Glorifies Adultery....Plus, NEW PROMO! Posted: 29 Aug 2013 02:53 PM PDT The battle of whether ABC's hit show "Scandal" glorifies adultery continues.  After the executive producer of a new salacious ABC show "Betrayal" spoke publicly about how "Scandal" maintained its success despite the adultery, it sparked creator Shonda Rhimes to write something about that.... Shonda just let y'all know you shouldn't mistake the deep artistic storyline of her show "Scandal" for a co-sign of adultery.  So she broke down what she trying to accomplish. In her latest piece in TV Line, she says: “I don’t feel like we’re making adultery acceptable. We weren’t setting out to make adultery OK,” Rhimes says of the Betrayal comparison. “To me it’s not about adultery or not adultery. We’re telling the story of these two characters who very specifically have this kind of relationship.” Rhimes also notes that, to Scandal‘s credit, “we tell all sides. So while there are times when you’re like, ‘Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Liv are wonderful and I want them to be together,’ there are also times you think, ‘Fitz is scum and he shouldn’t be cheating on his wife.’ And there are times you think, TONY GOLDWYN, BELLAMY YOUNG‘Olivia should go off and find herself somebody who’s single.’ “I like the fact that everybody feels this big debate. That’s fantastic, because that’s the point,” Rhimes concludes. “We’re not giving a judgement on it one way or the other.” *Snaps* Meanwhile, "Scandal has wrapped it's second season of taping .  And you can expect to see more Fitz/Liv action.  Shonda gave up a little info saying, "It's not over." “When we come into the season, Mellie does have things managed on the marital front. CAMPBELL: Yes. I love the relationship that I have with Azzedine, with Donatella, with Stefano [Gabbana] and Domenico [Dolce], with Marc Jacobs, with Anna Sui. When I started out modeling, there weren't casting directors and there weren't stylists, so you just dealt directly with the designer. Justin Timberlake Posted: 29 Aug 2013 11:11 AM PDT Just in time for his Budweiser Made In America festival kicking off this Saturday in Philly, Jay-Z just dropped his brand new video for "Holy Grail" ft. his Legends of Summer homie Justin Timberlake.   Check out the dark vid inside...   Jay-Z and JT shot their video separately, but director Anthony Mandler made it a seamless collabo effort.  In the vid just released via Facebook, Jay is seen in a dark warehouse-like space contemplating the need for the drug of fame.  And Justin is seen in front of a car--that is set on fire--singing about the ups and downs of the business.  The vid gets chopped and screwed on some parts for emphasis, and ends with a mountain of cups of champagne "runneth" over.  Check out the "Holy Grail" video, for the song that appears on Mr. Carter's latest album Magna Carta Holy Grail, below.

Since her attempt to regain custody during an emergency hearing (following the near-death drowning of Usher V) was dismissed, Tameka reportedly fired her former attorney, Angela Kinley, and showed up with two new legal eagles, Alexa Ross and Richard Robbins (shown above). But if she was hoping to take her legal battle in a new direction, her attempt was derailed when Mr. Raymond (much like R&B Divas LA star Kelly Price) failed to show up for the mandatory hearing.  We assume he was busy... The judge was a little peeved and according to the Hip Hop Enquirer, requested Tameka and her attorneys and Usher's legal team to join him in a closed meeting in the judge's chambers. We don't know what was discussed, but we're sure Usher's team got an earful about him missing the hearing. Another hearing has been set for the month of October and Usher is expected to appear.
