Tron Legacy 3D Opens BIG!

When you've beaten one of Avatar's records, you know you've done good with your movie!

Sources are reporting that Disney's Tron Legacy 3D did extraordinarily well last night at it's midnight showings. According to reports, the movie grossed $3.5 million from the screenings, with just over a million of that coming form the 228 IMAX screens it was playing on.

That number is reported to be the biggest percentage, about 25+%, done by any movie's midnight box office premiere in IMAX. It bested Iron Man 2, Inception, and yes, even Avatar.

Hmm. Wonder if it will overtake any of those movies' overall gross at IMAX? We shall see!

If you need a little convincing to see this movie, check out our review HERE.

The Good Guys Get The Axe

Well, it lasted longer than most of the shiteous less watched shows to which we've already said good-bye!

The Good Guys, starring Bradley Whitford and Colin Hanks, has finally been taken out back and shot by the FOX network!

Dallas Film Commission's Janis Burkland explains:

"We liked the show. And they had a great experience here. But the ratings weren't good. I think it would have done well on cable. It's not the kind of show network viewers understand [because] it's too quirky. Where cable viewers are more apt to go sampling and try out different stuff, network viewers are looking for more traditional shows."

That may be the case, we think that Colin should head back over to Mad Men! We miss him there!

Sorry, guys. Better luck next time!

RiRi And Matt Calling It Quits?

We hope not because we really like these two together.

Things aren't looking too good for Rihanna and boyfriend Matt Kemp as the two have reportedly been spending a lot less time together.

The L.A. Dodger has been training in Arizona while RiRi has been jetsetting around the world, promoting her album, making it difficult for them to be together.

The two were said to be planning to spend the holidays together, but things have since changed and the romance has apparently fizzled. A pal says that Rihanna is "still very much a kid."

Meanwhile, with rumors swirling that said Matt had cheated on RiRi with a girl he was hanging with at an El Lay nightclub, sources insist that he would never stray and that "the girl…is nowhere near his type."

We hope the rumors aren't true. Ri needs a good man in her life and we just want to see her to be happy!

Wow! There's not too many people who can replace Robert Downey, Jr. - but if anyone can do it, it's certainly him!

George Clooney has reportedly signed on to Alfonso Cuaron's science fiction drama, Gravity, alongside Sandra Bullock!

The actor has alleged replaced Downey as the leader of a space station that gets destroyed by asteroid debris, and along with the help of Sandra, who is the only other survivor, must find a way to successfully return to Earth!

Production begins in April or May of 2011.

This actually sounds pretty awesome! We're looking forward to hearing more about this one!

What do U think?? Do U want to see Gravity??

Virgin Actor Sentenced To Life In Prison

He's finally going to pay for what he did.

Shelley Malil, best known for his role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, was sentenced to life in prison for attempting to murder his girlfriend, Kendra Beebe.

The conviction comes after almost two years of litigation, but finally, Kendra has received some justice. In her testimony, she told the court:

"I stand before the defendant alive. Despite plunging a knife in me 23 times and trying to kill me, I am alive. Despite the wicked scars he left on my body, I am alive."

And she will continue to live, while he spends his life rotting in prison for his wicked deeds.

And that's the way it should be!

Shelley has the possibility to get parole, but not for a long time coming. Until then, we hope he takes this time to really think about the terrible pain he has caused to others.

Sharon Osbourne Doubts Chezza's Stateside Success!

We're going to have to respectfully disagree on this one!

Sharon Osbourne recently revealed that she thinks Cheryl Cole, who has been reportedly offered a judging position on the US edition of The X Factor, may not be a good fit for stateside audiences, and instead thinks Nicole Scherzinger may be better off for the job!

She explains:

"Cheryl's perfect for England. She's the nation's sweetheart and they absolutely love her. But over here [in the US] it's Nicole's town. You have to think of the audience and most of them would never have heard of Girls Aloud. Nicole's great TV, has a huge following here in the States and people absolutely love her. Plus she's beautiful and talented. It takes a long time to make it in the States because it's so huge. I think she's made the right decision to move out here. She couldn't just come over and do a show then pootle off. Cheryl reminds me of Bambi. She's got these big, brown, beautiful eyes and you just want to stroke her."

We have a feeling that our Chezza may be SLIGHTLY more well known than what you're assuming, bb!

And with the kind of success that she's had in the UK, we think that the slightest bit of media attention will launch her into superstardom here, too!

But we certainly shall see, won't we?

Here's hoping! Fingers crossed!

Kevin Smith Tweets About Clerks 3 And Other Potential Sequels

Posted: 17 Dec 2010 11:50 AM PST

kevin smith talks potential sequels via twitter

Yesterday, we reported on a new deal by The Weinstein Company and Miramax where they'll be sequelizing a bunch of their hit/classic films.

Given his track record with both companies, it's no surprise that Kevin Smith chose to share his thoughts on the possibility of Clerks III and other Jay and Silent Bob sequels.

Here's what he had to say about it on his Twitter:

"…I sold the movie [Clerks] to them in 1994. But I guess if someone was going to exploit the library for sequels, remakes, tv, I'd rather it be the devil I know. Nice to know there's a home for Clerks III if I ever wanted to make it, but hope it doesn't become a home for a Clerks-anything if I'm not involved."

More from Kevin:

"Either way, I doubt my shit is even something they wanna re-do/remake. They own Clerks, Chasing Amy, Jersey Girl and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. But then it's further complicated by the Jay & Silent Bob of it all. They don't own Jay & Silent Bob; I do. They own Strike Back, but they can't make any flick that'd include Jay & Silent Bob (even a Strike Back sequel) without my permission/license.

The only flick they own free & clear of me with no ties whatsoever, is Jersey Girl. And from personal experience, there's little to no interest in a sequel or remake, unless it opens with JLo's dead Mom busting out of her earthen grave, trampling her only begotten daughter's copy of a Necronomicon as she eats her brains. If they wanna do THAT Jersey Girl sequel, I'm totally in. But honestly, all those flicks are theirs to do with as they will. I can't (and won't) complain. At least the Guardians of Ga'Harvey are still in place, looking out for the dopey little (f)art flicks I made so long ago."

LOLs! This is HIGHlarious, Kevin!

We'd LOVE to see THAT Jersey Girl sequel! Sounds amazing!

Would U like to see Kevin Smith's movies get the sequel treatment?

…Snooch to the nooch.
