Prince William missed his mum on his wedding day: ‘She would’ve loved the day’ Posted: 29 May 2012 09:01 AM PDT Katie Couric managed to score one of the biggest "gets" for a journalist – she got exclusive interviews with Prince William and Prince Harry, both promoting their grandmother's Golden Jubilee celebrations, which begin this coming weekend. I think the full ABC interview comes out tonight? Damn, I'll have to remember to watch it. Anyway, People Magazine just got another excerpt from the interview – William talking about his mother, and how his wedding was "the one time since she's died where I've . . . thought to myself it would be fantastic if she was here, and just how sad really for her, more than anything, not being able to see it." Here's more:
God, that is super-sad to think about. Diana would have loved to see William's wedding. She would have had a lot to say about the planning of the wedding, and I think she would have had a lot to say about Kate Middleton too. We've played this "What if, what if" game before, to mixed results, though. I still think that had Diana lived and seen her boys grow into adult men, the women that Harry and William choose as girlfriends and wives would be a lot different. Here are some of released videos we have of the Couric interviews. I enjoy the American tendency to completely overlook Prince Charles. Like, people (specifically Americans) act like William is going to inherit the throne after the Queen. Which won't happen. And here's some video of Harry's interview (I think Harry's got the sexier voice, right?): |
Gregg Allman, 64, on his 7th marriage, to 24 year-old, “this time, I am really in love” Posted: 29 May 2012 08:33 AM PDT
[From ET Online] Piers Morgan asked Allman how many times he’s been in love in his life and he said “twice” despite the fact that he’s been married six times to date, adding that he “didn’t reciprocate” his other wives’ love. That’s cold. There’s no fool like an old fool. This guy didn’t seem, how do I put this, all there when I saw clips of his interviews on Piers Morgan and CBS This Morning. (below) Most of his kids are older than his fiance, and if this marriage lasts more than a couple of years (doubtful) this very young woman stands to inherit everything. Allman’s fiance Shannon, 24. She looks like Lauren Conrad here: Allman on CBS This Morning. He’s kind of slow and doesn’t get to the point. He talks about his relationships at around 4:45. photo above credit: Andrew Evans / PR Photos |
Michael Fassbender is a Star Wars geek, still has his Ewok village & Millennium Falcon Posted: 29 May 2012 08:29 AM PDT Here are some newish photos of Michael Fassbender over the weekend at the Monaco Grand Prix, looking very much like a kid in a candy store. Fassy's level of excitement for all things car and car-adjacent is a little bit… I don't know, off-putting for me. I'm not a car person, obviously, and when Michael and I get together, this will have to be something we work on. Like, will he expect me to support and be an equal participant in his car and racing enthusiasm? Or can I simply say, "It's your thing, sweetheart. I'm fine with this book. You go play with your toys"? What turns Fassy on more: a lady's sweetshop or a really beautiful car? Fassy talked to a reporter at the Grand Prix too: In other Fassy news, there are several new interviews out now for Fassy's promotion of Prometheus. GQ UK has a new video interview with him here, and I saw this quote that I loved – Fassy on whether he was ever a "sci-fi geek": "No. Not really. I liked Star Wars I suppose, which is pretty sci-fi. But I've never been someone who collected comic books or any of that sort of thing. Other than Star Wars, which I did collect lots of things. [Like the] Ewok village that I still have… and the Millennium Falcon." Yeah. Not a sci-fi geek but he still has the Millennium Falcon. GEEK! Here's a video interview with Fassy from Digital Spy (GAH HIS VOICE!!!!!): Do you want more of that GQ p0rn? Of course you do. |
Rob Pattinson fell for ‘Hunger Games’ casting rumors: who should play Finnick? Posted: 29 May 2012 07:54 AM PDT This is just a cute story and one that (even the most begrudging) fans of Robert Pattinson would appreciate for its self-deprecating nature. Apparently, there’s been quite a lot of buzz in the Hunger Games casting department in regard to the upcoming sequel, Catching Fire. In particular, online rumors (which likely originated on the movie’s IMDb board) have indicated that Robert Pattinson might have been a possibility for the coveted role of the sexy and seductive former victor Finnick. In an amusing twist, Rob has revealed that he initially believed these rumors, and he was crushed to learn that he was not in running for the role. Poor Sparkles, right?
[From USA Today] Poor Rob. Of course, he’s got a lot of stuff coming up in the new future including playing the soldier who led to the capture of Saddam Hussein. So Sparkles will be alright; in fact, he’ll be more than alright. Still, I can’t help but feel a little twinge of sorrow for his presumably downcast face when learning that he was not wanted for the role of Finnick. On that note, who should play the seductive yet ultimately damaged Finnick? I’ve racked my brain on previous occasions for the answer to this question, and the only actor I can come up with is Taylor Kitsch. Thoughts? Photos courtesy of WENN |
Clint Eastwood’s daughter destroys $100,000 bag, thinks people don’t get “art” Posted: 29 May 2012 07:53 AM PDT
Shields is now appearing on the Eastwood family reality show, “Mrs. Eastwood and Company,” and he’s using this latest stunt to promote it. He even plugs the show in the entry on his website with these photos. Here’s what he wrote:
[From Tyler Shields] Shields and Francesca wrecked some black Christian Louboutin pumps back in January, and those photos didn’t get as much attention of course, nor did they draw as much ire. There’s a big difference between ruining a $500-$800 pair of shoes and mutilating a purse that’s worth more than most families earn in a couple of years. TMZ reports that people are trashing Francesca and sending her death threats over Twitter and Facebook, and her response is that people just don’t get it.
[From TMZ] You can read more comments on Tyler’s blog, including some that trash his style as well as his concept. As much as people who live in the real world have trouble grasping the point of Shields’ brand of shock art, it’s clear that Francesa doesn’t “get” reality either. Of course people are going to be upset. (Although personal attacks and death threats are of course wrong.) It must be hard for a girl still in her teens, who will never have to willingly work a day in her life, to understand how wasteful this seems to a lot of people. I blame Shields for this, though. What is poor Clint Eastwood saying about this? He’s already got to contend with that stupid reality show he wife insisted on doing. It’s got to be humiliating to see the antics his kids are up to. I used to see him as a Dirty Harry, Walt Kowalski type. Not anymore. Francesca and Tyler are shown in October, 2011 and January, 2012. She’s also shown alone on 5-9-12 and 4-30-12. Credit: WENN.com. Paris Hilton is seething with jealousy over Kim Kardashian’s fabulous life Posted: 29 May 2012 07:50 AM PDT Paris Hilton was all over the Cannes Film Festival. Don't even ask me why. I'm assuming she just came to party and be seen, although I'm sure she had "business" in town too and thus, an "official" reason for coming. Hilariously, Paris's former famewhore protégé Kim Kardashian was in town too, and Kim (and Kanye) soaked up most of the extra attention given to The Famewhores of Cannes. Virtually every blog ignored Paris, despite having new photos of her every single day. So once Paris's famewhore protégé has not only eclipsed her (Paris's) fame, but exceeded it so spectacularly, what is left in the famewhore wake? Jealousy. Seething, petty jealousy.
Instead of trying to be Kim Kardashian, I think Paris Hilton should try to be Nicole Richie. Except that she's not smart enough to model herself after Nicole, and Paris isn't even smart enough to surround herself with people who would advise her to do something like that. But wouldn't that sort of work for Paris? Stop partying, get married, have a baby, remake herself into some kind of designer/businesswoman, get a supporting role as some kind of "host" on a reality show. That would be the smart way for her to proceed, but Paris is so dumb, she thinks that she should just stick with her old plan – which Kim Kardashian has just co-opted and improved. I would feel bad for Paris, but… yeah, that's not going to happen. Look, Kim's old face! |
Jessica Biel on marriage: ‘Nothing will really change, b/c I’m almost never home’ Posted: 29 May 2012 07:23 AM PDT Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake's wedding plans continue unabated, despite the fact that they should both be running away from this wedding at full speed. But come hell or high water, Jessica is getting Justin down the aisle and she will put up with any and all acts of douchebaggery to become "Mrs. Timberlake". I tend to think the tabloids are right in this situation – the wedding will be going down this summer, probably in California. Over the weekend, Jessica and JT threw themselves a huge engagement party. It was a cocktail party with the men in suits and the ladies in black dresses (like a funeral) except for Jessica, who wore "a leopard-print halter dress cinched at the waist with a hot pink belt and matching shoes." Wolfgang Puck catered. Some of the guests? Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Trace Ayala, Ellen DeGeneres, Portia DeRossi and Amy Adams. An insider tells Us Weekly, "Jessica and Justin were mingling both separately and together throughout the party… Jessica seems to be very close with Justin’s friends and vice versa. You can see that they have been dating for a long time and really know each others friends and family well. The party was a fun celebration and a preview of what’s to come with the wedding.” Jessica has really won her prize, hasn't she? Yes, she has. In addition to becoming "Mrs. Timberlake", Jessica also managed to get Justin to sign on to her latest film – as a songwriter and singer! Jessica will star and produce The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea this year, and Justin has signed on to compose original music for the film, and serve as music supervisor. It will be JT's first musical work since 2009. The film shoots in the fall, lending more support to the idea of a summer wedding. Also: despite Biel's recent trip to Italy to meet with designers, sources close to Biel are still claiming that she wants a wedding gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. The same designer who did Britney Spears's wedding gown to Kevin Federline. Last story: Jessica has a new interview with a French magazine, and she's talking about how she thinks "nothing will change" once she's a married lady. She's probably right.
Oh for the love of God. Jessica, girl. We need to talk. No, scratch that. I'm not going to waste my breath. But it feels like "More tears are shed over answered prayers than unanswered ones." This is what she wants, and I don't think she's really given it much thought beyond the wedding. The simple thought of "What will Justin Timberlake be like as a husband?" is enough to give me a panic attack, and I'm not the one pledging myself to this douchebag. |
Britney’s fiance Jason Trawick’s video message in bed: sweet or too personal? Posted: 29 May 2012 05:45 AM PDT We’ve heard that Britney is having problems on set, that she’s left at least twice during taping without warning, and that she took at least four performances off during her first day. People are scrutinizing her closely, and so her fiance is trying to show her support. He did that in this oddly intimate video that some say is way too personal to be posting publicly. Here’s what he said: “Princess. We just completed our first weekend in Austin, on X Factor. I just want to say I’m very proud of you, and I love you so much. Congratulations. Now get back in here so we can go to sleep.” I can see how this guy would think it was sweet to give some words of support to his fiance. Everyone is ragging on Britney, and it’s probably wearing on her. I get the impression that she’s sensitive, and that this is probably a lot for her to handle. We’ve heard that Jason is with her while she’s been judging on X Factor, and in his mind he surely thinks it’s fine to record a message of encouragement for her. It would have been, if he either would have 1. kept it private between the two of them or 2. was sitting up in a chair, and wasn’t all sleepy and sexy sounding. That was weird to me, along with the reference to the fact that Britney was about to come to bed. That’s not for public consumption. People can be really careless with technology. Do I sound old? Sometimes I feel like I am, because I’m pretty guarded with what I put online. I don’t see the benefit of sharing such personal things. Here’s Jason with Britney in NY outside the Fox upfronts on 5-14-12. Look at how he’s trying to hold her dress down for her. Photo credit: PacificCoastNews.com |
Justin Bieber suspected of battery during ‘physical altercation’ with a pap Posted: 29 May 2012 04:25 AM PDT Is Justin Bieber finally cracking to the pressure of being a global superstar? I say “finally” as if he’s been around for decades, but he has thus far (in the past few years of his ubiquity) maintained a relatively squeaky image in spite of admitting to drinking a beer once in his life and being good friends with Chris Brown. Speaking of which, Justin may have one-upped Chris Brown’s little adventure of stealing an amateur pap’s phone when the Biebs literally “went bonkers” (according to Fame/Flynet) on a paparazzo while he was out on a date with Selena Gomez. Nobody knows for sure what happened, but TMZ reports that there was in fact a “physical altercation,” and it looks like Biebs lost a hat and shoe in the process. No word on whether his pants finally fell all the way off his body, but the police, fire department, and an ambulance all showed up for the party when the photog failed to lift himself from was the ground. Here are the details from TMZ:
[From TMZ] Who knew that Bieber had it in him to actually get angry and lose his cool in public? Perhaps this is a sign that he’s been hanging around Chris Brown for far too long, but I hope that the reports are wrong and Biebs didn’t really physically hurt someone. But since the seed is planted and whether or not Biebs actually threw a punch, this photog is going to come looking for some money. I guess we’ll see what happens, but I’d expect a pay off to occur whether or not Biebs did anything wrong. What a mess. If it’s any consolation to the Biebs, Bar Refaeli has been inexplicably going on about how she’ll marry Bieber some day. Selena, watch out. Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet |
Princess Charlene’s multiple Monaco photo-ops: depressed or perkier? Posted: 29 May 2012 04:24 AM PDT Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco were all over the place this past weekend. I'm including some photos from the events they did (together!) in Monaco, including a charity fashion show (Charlene wore orange-brown pleats), the Monaco Grand Prix (Charlene wore black and white stripes, with some great red lipstick) and the Formula One gala (Charlene wore a black evening gown). Oh, and they did a photo op for a charity for disabled people too – that's the turquoise outfit. She and Albert did several other events too, but these are the ones I wanted to cover. I've looked through all of our photos, and my general thought is that Charlene is still not pregnant. But! She has gained a little weight, which does give her a slightly knocked-up air. While I think Charlene and Albert negotiate these dual public appearances and make smiley faces for the cameras, I don't think Charlene wants Albert to touch her at all in private, and God knows, maybe the feeling is mutual. From what the "sources" in Monaco say, poor Charlene is just a glorified broodmare and everyone in Monaco is SO disappointed in her. You would comfort-eat too. Meanwhile, remember how that French magazine reported (last year) that Charlene tried to escape Monaco three times only to have her passport confiscated? Albert said he was going to sue. And now he has:
[Via The UK Press Gazette] From what I remember of Albert's reaction to the story, he was seriously pissed off and Charlene just looked like a hostage agreeing with her captor. I have to think that while Albert wants The Sunday Times to admit a mistake and allow him to be publicly vindicated, when you introduce this kind of thing into the legal system, it's going to end up a hot mess… for Albert and Charlene. If libel cases in France are anything like the libel cases in America, won't The Sunday Times have to "prove" that they got part or all of their story right? Which means they'll have to present evidence that Charlene did in fact try to pull a runner before the wedding. Which might be kind of easy to prove, you know? |
