Why is Megan Fox no longer ubiquitous? Posted: 17 Dec 2010 11:05 AM PST These are some new photos of Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green out and about in LA yesterday. These are the first new photos we've had of Megan in a while. And I'm just writing about these photos too - it's not like there's some new Fox interview, or some gigantic story about her today or anytime recently. Which brings me to my question - is it just me, or has Megan Fox's popularity and ubiquity faded just as quickly as it surged? For a few years there, every single dude was in agreement: Megan Fox was The Hottest Chick. And then *poof* she was gone. Not really "gone" but it just seems like dudes don't really give a crap anymore. Is it because she left/got fired from Transformers? Is it because she wouldn't stop saying dumb, ridiculous crap in every interview? Is it because she married BAG and now she's no longer theoretically up for hot sex with randoms? Or is it because Megan was messing with her face so much that for her last promotional tour, she looked like a Gigantor-headed Botox Monster? All are solid possibilities. I have to say this, though - I like that she's not one of those girls who feels the need to pap themselves constantly (coughBilsonBosworthcough). I like that she's been away from the public eye for a couple of months. I also like that, in these photos, she really dressed down and she also looks like she's stopped messing with her face. BAG looks kind of hot too. Also - Megan has been working. She's currently filming Friends With Kids… working with JON HAMM. For the love of God. The film is written and directed by The Hamm's lover Jennifer Westfeldt. Would you let Megan Fox around your man? What if your man was The Hamm? If I was with The Hamm, I would make him a dong-chastity belt. Photos courtesy of Fame. |
Prince Harry: “I always think of my mother in everything I do” Posted: 17 Dec 2010 10:30 AM PST Prince Harry has given a new interview to Bild, a German publication. It's online, and since I don't speak German, Google Chrome translated the page for me, with typically hilarious results. For example, "I know that the Germans are always very hospitable, and I look forward to the Berlin meet … As long as nobody on the football touches on! I have been a few times in Germany, it is a great country.” Yes. I love Google Chrome translations. Anyway, other sources had Harry's quotes with a much better translation, and… it kind of breaks my heart. He talks about his mom, and how he still thinks about her and how he hopes that she's proud of the work he does. I'm seriously tearing up over here! Prince Harry has praised his brother’s bride-to-be Kate Middleton as ‘the sister I always wished for’. Harry, 26, said he was ‘enormously pleased’ about William’s engagement to the 28-year-old, adding that she was a welcome addition to the Royal Family. The couple announced their engagement last month after an eight-year courtship, and will marry in Westminster Abbey on April 29 next year. Prince Harry made his comments during an interview with the German newspaper Bild, ahead of his visit to Berlin tomorrow to receive an award recognising his charity work. The royal will be presented with a Golden Heart on live television during Ein Herz fur Kinder (A Heart for Children), Germany’s largest television fundraising gala. He said: ‘I have known Kate for years and it’s great that she is now becoming part of the family. I am enormously pleased. I always wished for a sister and now I have one.’ The prince also spoke about the influence his mother Diana, Princess of Wales and father, the Prince of Wales, have had on his charity work. Harry told the newspaper: ‘I hope that my mother would be proud of me.’ He added: ‘I always think of my mother in everything I do. It is correct that my brother and I often ask ourselves what our mother would have done in this situation. That helps us again and again. But I also learned enormously from my father, who has been engaged with numerous charities for decades. My mother was to me, like my brother, a role model. And also to many people worldwide. I believe that people took to her so warmly because she possessed the ability to take away their embarrassment in whatever situation she met them in. She was immediately sympathetic. Exactly like her, I know that I enjoy a privileged position as a member of the royal family and I must use what was given to me to try to make a difference in important topics.’ [From The Daily Mail] Sweet little ginger mama's boy. I would mother the hell out of him, I really would. This is the one who will break hearts forever. Also: Harry should start a "What Would Diana Do?" (WWDD?) movement. We could make bracelets. Angelina Jolie celebrates UNHCR’s 60th anniversary in Spain Posted: 17 Dec 2010 09:52 AM PST While in Spain on her "Velvets of the World" tour, Angelina Jolie stopped by the UNHCR headquarters in Madrid to celebrate the UNHCR's 60 anniversary. The above photo is from her visit - the dude she's sitting with is Jesus Vasquez, some Spanish "presenter". He's cute. Anyway, she released a statement too! MADRID, Spain, December 17 (UNHCR) – UNHCR Goodwill Ambassadors Angelina Jolie and Jesús Vázquez met in Spain this week and paid tribute to the staff of the refugee agency on its 60th birthday and to the people they help. “In the week of UNHCR’s anniversary, I would like to highlight the strength and courage of the world’s refugees and [other] forcibly displaced people who are, for all of us, an example of generosity and dignity,” Jolie said during a visit Thursday to UNHCR’s Madrid office. “My thoughts go also to the dedicated UNHCR staff, who for many years have risked their lives to protect the lives of refugees.” Award-winning actress Jolie was in Madrid to promote her latest film, “The Tourist,” and took the opportunity to meet UNHCR staff and discuss Spain’s asylum system, mixed migration flows into the country, resettlement and other important issues. She also heard about plans for the anniversary year. Jolie met Vázquez, a popular TV presenter in Spain, and shared with him some of her experiences as a goodwill ambassador over the past decade. Since becoming a goodwill ambassador in 2006, Vázquez has been actively supporting awareness and fund-raising activities in Spain on behalf of refugees, including a charity art auction on Wednesday in Madrid. UNHCR turned 60 on Tuesday. It was founded on December 14, 1950 to help Europeans displaced during World War II and was only expected to be in existence for three years. Today, it works around the world, helps millions of people and has an open-ended mandate. [From The UNHCR Press Release] Good for her. I've been wondering why we hadn't seen any UNHCR stuff from Jolie during The Tourist's promotional tour. Usually she schedules refugee activities side-by-side with film promotion. In other Jolie-Pitt news, there's a rumor going around that she and Brad are going to get married on Valentine's Day in India. Apparently, some Indian guru has agreed to bless their union…? [Angelina and Brad] are apparently heading to India for their vows on Valentine’s Day. A temple in Northwest India will be where the two have their vows and will be blessed by spiritual leader Guru Gurudev Ramlalji Siyag. The Guru has known the couple since 2005. A source told the Hindustan times, “They've been practicing his Siddha yoga and they start and end the day by chanting a sacred word he's given them. It's transformed their relationship they've both cut back on drinking and no longer argue.” [From Starpulse] I thought Aniston got "yoga" in the divorce? But yes, this report is crap.
