Lindsay Lohan’s alleged smackdown victim isn’t pressing charges

This disappointing news came out a few days ago, and I'm sorry I didn't get to it before now. Apparently, my Team Random Fired Betty Ford Employeee status is in major flux. Dawn Holland, the Betty Ford ex-employee who allegedly was the victim of a Lindsay Lohan drunken-smackdown several weeks ago, is no longer "working with the authorities" on the battery incident. Meaning that Holland is no longer interested in pressing charges against Lindsay, which also means that a potential assault charge won't be going on Lindsay's record and affecting her probation. Which means we're even further away from seeing The Crackhead in jail.

The ex-Betty Ford staffer who claims Lindsay Lohan assaulted her earlier this month will not only drop her criminal complaint, she’ll refuse to cooperate with authorities … TMZ has learned.

Dawn Holland, who told TMZ earlier this week how Lindsay ripped a phone from her hand causing a severe sprain, now says Lindsay should not be prosecuted.

Holland’s lawyer, Keith Davidson, tells TMZ, “Dawn will not continue to press charges against Lindsay, nor will she be assisting any further in the investigation or prosecution.”

And this is interesting … we asked Davidson how his client would respond if she’s subpoenaed, and he said, “She won’t.”

Davidson says Holland and Lindsay share a common bond — they’re both recovering addicts, Holland does not want “in any way shape or form to do anything that would violate Lindsay’s probation or cause an arrest.”

Davidson says, “A crime has quite simply not been committed by Ms. Lohan.”

[From TMZ]

Ugh, I hate this. I really do. I was all prepared to completely go to bat for Holland. But the crack hustle never ends… which brings me to another point: was this part of some kind of pay-off situation? Did Mother Crackhead open up her checkbook? Or did Holland just figure that this whole thing wasn't worth the trouble? Ugh.

Kate Middleton spends her last Christmas as a commoner

Posted: 26 Dec 2010 08:16 AM PST

48770, BERKSHIRE, UNITED KINGDOM - Saturday December 25 2010. Kate Middleton and family are pictured arriving home after spending Christmas Day out together. It may be Kate's last Christmas with her family - mother Carole, father Michael, sister Phillipa and brother James as she will no doubt spend next Christmas with the Royal family. BBC and Sky News crews along with photographers were waiting eagerly for her arrival at the family's Berkshire home. Photograph: PacificCoastNews.com

These are photos of Kate Middleton in a cage for the holidays! No, not really, although it does look like she's entered the "veal pen" of royal life, doesn't it? These are photos of Kate in the backseat of some kind of royal transport, with her family of commoners. This is to be Kate's last Christmas as a commoner, sob! She spent Christmas with her family, not with Will or any of the royals. William didn't even spend the holiday with his family though - he worked! He was on call with his helicopter rescue team in Wales. But no worries - Kate and Will are going to spend New Year's together, with the royal family.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are set for the most exciting year of their lives – but they had to spend Christmas apart.

The lovebirds, both 28, were 270 miles apart Christmas Day as William had volunteered to work a shift with his helicopter search and rescue crew in North Wales, while Kate spent the day with her parents in Berkshire, England.

But they won’t be apart for long: The two are expected to spend New Year’s Eve together.

William is off work now until after the New Year celebrations and is heading for Sandringham, the royal family’s retreat in Norfolk, eastern England. It is known whether Kate will immediately join him, but if she does, it would mark the first time she has stayed there while the Queen and extended family have been in residence.

It has been a momentous Christmas holiday period for the couple.

Kate joined William at one of his official royal duties just days after she had been on the guest list at a private luncheon hosted by Queen Elizabeth.

Elsewhere, the Queen – in distinctive fur hat – led members of her family to church on Christmas morning, taking a bouquet of flowers from a young well wisher.

There was no mention of her grandson’s upcoming wedding in her annual televised address – or anything about her other grandchild, Zara Phillips’s engagement.

Meanwhile, the man who will officiate the couple’s April 29 wedding, the Archbishop of Canterbury, has said there was “cause for celebration” that any couple should want to “embark on the adventure of Christian marriage.”

In his Christmas Day message, Dr. Rowan Williams, said, “As the prince and his fiancee get ready for their new step into solidarity together, they will have plenty of inspiration around, more than you might sometimes guess from the chatter of our culture,” the BBC reports.

[From People]

Okay, did anyone else chuckle with "the adventure of Christian marriage"? I mean, good for them, and I'm not judging, etc. But "the adventure"? "Christian marriage"? Ugh. It makes me think that Kate and William are embarking on some kind of mega-triathlon with Jesus.

Anyway, good for Kate, I guess. She doesn't look too bummed to not spend the holiday with her fiancé. It's only going to get worse, Kate!

Brad & Angelina are having their holiday adventure in Namibia

A few days ago, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were spotted in Namibia. They were photographed doing some last-minute shopping for the kids (photo here, at Radar). Angelina had already said in an interview that they planned to spend Christmas traveling and "having an adventure". So the adventure was a trip to Namibia, Shiloh's birthplace.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and all the little Jolie-Pitts are spending Christmas in Namibia, RadarOnline.com has learned. The couple was spotted yesterday doing some last minute holiday shopping at a mall in the city of Windhoek, and RadarOnline.com has the pictures.

The coastal African nation of Namibia is where the couple’s daughter Shiloh was born on May 27, 2006.

Angelina tipped her hand about the family’s Christmas vacation plans in a recent interview.

“We’re going to travel with the kids and go to a random part of the world,” she told Larry King. “We’re going to travel and have an adventure because that’s what we love to do.”

By the looks of the shopping cart loaded with toys Angie was seen pushing through the mall, the kids woke up to a very merry Christmas this morning.

[From Radar]

It's kind of nice. Maybe Angelina and Brad are thinking about starting that Namibian charity in Shiloh's name, like they've always claimed they would. As for spending the holidays in Africa… eh. I mean, it works for them, and as the Brangeloonies pointed out (meaning "they yelled at me"), the Jolie-Pitt family goes to Missouri every other Christmas, and spend the other times traveling and adventuring. Also, I had this thought: they spent much of the past three months or so in the snowy, freezing cold of Budapest, Hungary. They might want to just be somewhere warm, you know?

Here's a clip from Angelina's 2006 interview with Ann Curry when she was pregnant with Shiloh, and the family was in Namibia.

Daniel Craig & Rachel Weisz spent Christmas together - it’s so on

NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 13: Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig attend a private screening of 'Enduring Love' at the MGM screening room September 13, 2004 in New York City. (Photo by Bowers/Getty Images)

I told you it was on! Well, I had some doubts too, but I was coming down on the side of wanting there to be something there, just for the sheer hotness level. So guess who spent the holidays together? Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz! OH YES. As you may remember, Rachel split from her longtime partner Darren Aronofsky a few months ago, and the immediate rumor was that she and Daniel Craig had been boning while they worked together earlier this year. The British tabloids were all over it, and some unnamed sources "confirmed" their affair, and it was widely reported that Daniel had dumped his longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell at some point over the past few months. And now there are photos of Daniel and Rachel together! Like they are announcing their coupling! The photos are here, at The Daily Mail.

They were first linked together last month after she was said to be ’smitten’ with her Bond co-star. But despite quashing the rumours they were an item, Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig will have trouble denying their romance now after they were snapped hand-in-hand during a cosy Christmas break together.

Pictures in the News of the World today show the pair, who star together in Dream House due to be released next year, laughing and holding hands while away together in Somerset. Craig, 42, and Weisz, 40, were pictured bundled up against the cold as they went for a stroll by the £1,000 a week cottage near Yeovil.

According to sources, they left the cosy bolthole on Christmas Eve and headed to the local pub.

An onlooker said: ‘Daniel and Rachel looked like a romantic couple in a film. They were laughing and hanging on to each other’s words and stopping to take photos of each other.’

And one fellow customer in the pub added: ‘They were clinging to each other like honeymooners. The chemistry was obvious.’

The pair, who have know each other for several years, were brought together to star alongside each other in Dream House, due for release next year. Weisz plays the wife of a New York publishing executive, played by Craig, who relocates his family to a town in New England only to discover their perfect home was the murder scene of a mother and her two children.

They were then romantically linked last month after Weisz split from her fiancé director Darren Aronofsky.

A source close to The Mummy star said she was 'head over heels' for Craig and added: ‘Rachel and Daniel simply sparked during the filming of Dream House in Canada. They have great chemistry. Darren's such a good and responsible man, but Daniel's the opposite extreme, he's brooding and mysterious. Darren and Rachel have simply grown apart, they spent long periods away from each other, moving in different directions.'

And shortly afterwards, Weisz and Aronofsky issued a joint statement that said: ‘Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months. They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in New York.'

Craig got engaged to producer Satsuki Mitchell two years ago after he proposed with a Cartier ring and said she helps keep him grounded.

He said: ‘I couldn’t get though it without her. You’ve got to have a sense of perspective and she gives me that.’

But recent reports have suggested that they have now split up, although Craig has yet to deny or confirm this.

[From The Daily Mail]

Homewreckers, all of them. Hot, sexy homewreckers. It's so interesting, this little piece of news. I wouldn't think Daniel would want any part of his private life out in the open, at all, but going to a pub and being affectionate with his jumpoff is an interesting development. Maybe he wants people to know that this is for real. Maybe it's true love? As for Rachel… well, I'm kind of disappointed in her, even though I understand how a woman could throw away a stable relationship with the father of her child for a sex-filled romance with a brooding James Bond. Sigh…

Rumours that Weisz has been having an affair with James Bond star Daniel Craig have been quashed by friends of the Oscar-nominated actress. Miss Weisz was making her way to Kiehls with her friend. Hugh Hefner (84) proposed to Playmate Crystal Harris (24)

Posted: 26 Dec 2010 07:16 AM PST

I feel kind of guilty putting all of these engagement announcements all together, but in my defense, two of the couples that got engaged are kind of boring. First up: Hugh Hefner got engaged. He's 84 YEARS OLD. He proposed to one of his many girlfriends, Crystal Harris, who is 24 years old. OH GOD.

Hugh Hefner rang in the holidays with an engagement ring.

The Playboy founder is engaged to girlfriend Crystal Harris, 24, he announced on Twitter.

“After the movie tonight, Crystal & I exchanged gifts. I gave Crystal a ring. A truly memorable Christmas Eve,” Hefner, 84, wrote. “When I gave Crystal the ring, she burst into tears. This is the happiest Christmas weekend in memory.”

Later, he clarified, “Yes, the ring I gave Crystal is an engagement ring. I didn’t mean to make a mystery out of it. A very merry Christmas to all.”

This will be the third marriage for Hefner. In 2009 he filed for divorce from his second wife, former Playmate Kimberly Conrad, after the two separated in 1998. He was previously married to Mildred Williams; their marriage ended in divorced in 1959.

Harris was December 2009’s Playboy Playmate.

There are sketchy age differences, and then there's this. I mean… no fool like an old fool, right? I'm always reminded of something my father said about an older man marrying some young girl - "At his age, he's just paying to look at her." As in, all of Viagra in the world isn't raising that sail, so Hef is just buying himself a young, pretty blonde to look at and be his companion. More power to him…? Ugh.

In other engagement news, Ginnifer Goodwin (32) just got engaged to her boyfriend of two years, Joey Kern (34). Apparently, Kern proposed earlier this month… and they just decided to announce it now. Their wedding date is tentatively announced for next fall. Also: Jason Mraz (33) proposed to his girlfriend, singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman (28). Let's give a round of applause for age-appropriate unions!
