Rupert Everett slams Jennifer Aniston, in generally uncool

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 08:43 AM PST

wenn2748953

I know some of you like Rupert Everett, but I've grown to despise him. It is a relatively recent development - I usually liked him in movies, and I thought he was a decent actor. But over the past couple of years, he's given some of the strangest interviews. He has been revealed as an extraordinarily bitchy, catty, nasty, self-loathing gay man who blames his own sexuality on his failed career, never considering that perhaps no one wants to work with such an a–hole. Anyway, Rupert gave an interview to BBC radio (audio here), and much of it is simply his greatest hits, a litany of bitching and moaning. But Rupert gets on a roll as he slams the Hollywood system, and he ends up naming names: Jennifer Aniston, specifically. Oh, this should be good.

Despite the stereotype, Hollywood is not at all liberal, says British actor Rupert Everett. Ifact, for gay actors like himself, it’s quite conservative. The 50-year old actor, best known for his role in ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding,’ spoke with the UK’s BBC’s Radio 4, sounding a familiar lament about his role in the film industry, and the discrimination he faces.

Comparing his acting talent to that of Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, Everett said that producers would say they couldn’t find a role that fit him, which he said came only because he was gay.

“I never got a job there, and I never got a job here, after [coming out],” he said. “I did a couple of films, I was very lucky at the beginning of my career… and then, I never had another job here for ten years, probably, and I moved to Europe.”

It’s not just him though; he thinks it’s a problem for all gay — and women — actors.

“I think show business is ideally suited for heterosexuals, it’s a very heterosexual business, it’s run mostly by heterosexual men, and there’s a kind of pecking order. I think the position of women is a pretty difficult one in show business. If you look at the idea of a drunk women in show business on the skids at the age of 50, and a drunken man in show business on the skids, the drunken man gets an awful amount of support, and the women is a slut.”

The system is especially biased, he thinks, because the audience doesn’t see actors as gay or straight.

“The audience has a completely perception of the performers than the business… But the business is what makes the stars, really. There are lots of women and lots of men in the business that the powers that be decide are the right people and they’ll stand with them for quite a long time.”

Still, Hollywood decides on its own who to support, even if its undeserved, Everett says. And to prove his point, he criticized the career of Jennifer Aniston: “Like Jennifer Aniston will just have one too many total flops. But she’s still a member of that club. And she will still manage to — like a star forming in the universe — a whole lot of things swirling around and suddenly solidifying into yet another vital tasteless romcom: a little glitter next to the Crab Nebula.”

His advice for gay actors? As he’s said before, perhaps not coming out is the best bet:

“There are many of them, and I don’t blame them, it’s very sensible. If I hadn’t been someone who liked and if I hadn’t been a kind of sex maniac and all those kind of things and wanted to go to raves and circuit parties, I don’t think there’s anything to wrong with it. It would have been too complicated for me to tell the lie.”

[From Huffington Post]

Ugh. Okay, he has a few points, but they tend to be lost in the miasma of self-pity and general nastiness. First: I've said it before, but Rupert is not completely wrong about out-of-closet gay actors. They do have it a lot harder than straight actors. BUT - there have been very notable successes in the past decade, and if you look at those successes, you'll notice something: all of the gay success stories in Hollywood involve actors and actresses were are extraordinarily likeable and talented. Perhaps Rupert didn't have the goods to back it up, you know? He's also right about aging and declining within the industry, and the sexism of how an aging actress is treated. But, once again, there are notable exceptions, and I believe it is getting better because of groundbreaking, talented women.

As for the Aniston stuff… well, I'm not even sure what point he's trying to make. Hollywood rallies around it's own? Hollywood will "forgive" someone like Aniston even after several flops in a row? Eh. Whatever. I wonder if Aniston's rep will even deign to comment about this one (you laugh, but her rep commented about that Joan Collins stuff). Here's Aniston's statement: "Rupert Everett IS SO UNCOOL." Done.

Life & Style: Camille Grammer is “the most hated housewife”

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 08:10 AM PST

1102finalcover

So, apparently EVERYONE is watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I'm not. But my mom wants to gossip with CB about all of the drama that's going down, and now the RHOBH are getting the RHONJ treatment - meaning tabloid covers and manufactured drama. The stand-out of the Beverly Hills cast seems to be Camille Grammer, the now estranged wife of Kelsey Grammer. Camille got dumped by Kelsey, and viewers of the show are now seeing why… apparently, she's a monster.

Camille Grammer jumped at the chance to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills so she could finally step out from behind the shadow of her husband, Kelsey Grammer. However, she never realized that she would become one of the most hated Housewives yet. In fact, 52% of readers polled picked Camille as the most hated Housewife–beating out Real Housewives villians Danielle Staub and Michaele Salahi.

“I hate Camille and her bitch brigade,” tweeted one show fan. Noted another, “Camille needs to be in a padded cell!”

But who is the real Camille? Before she touched down in Beverly Hills, Camille Donatacci was a “nice, funny” and well liked student at Montclair State College in New Jersey, a former classmate tells Life & Style. But after she met Kelsey on a blind date in 1996, a money-hungry, materialistic side emerged.

“She moved to the West Coast, and no one I know kept in touch with her after that,” says the classmate.

A year later, Camille and Kelsey tied the knot but Camille soon became more committed to the lifestyle than to her husband. The relationship was clearly in trouble when they started filming.

“Camille stopped having sex with Kelsey about a year before they broke up,” an insider tells Life & Style. And Kelsey now fears her next move.

“He pleaded with photographers not to take his picture with his fiancée because his ’soon-to-be ex-wife’ would see it and go ballistic,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. “Kelsey claims she shows pictures of the couple to the kids and blames Daddy for the mess.”

[From Life & Style]

Wait, what? Kelsey asks photographers not to take his photo when he's out with his jumpoff? The hell? Don't go out with your jumpoff! But seriously, I don't even watch the show, and I'm getting severe "monster" vibes from Camille. Villagers, get your torches ready.

Oh, and I’m now obsessed with her bolt-ons.

Natalie Portman’s baby-daddy is already giving interviews, so much for “privacy”

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 07:52 AM PST

bm1

So Natalie Portman completely shocked everybody on Monday when she announced her pregnancy and engagement to People Magazine. It was just a brief confirmation, and hours later, Natalie gave her personal statement to Entertainment Weekly. In that statement, she described herself as "indescribably happy" and she also managed to emphasize her "privacy". It's an interesting hat-trick, announcing your pregnancy and engagement while simultaneously campaigning for an Oscar, promoting several movies, and attempting to be "private". I said yesterday that I was looking forward to seeing how all of this would play out, and I didn't have to wait long for the first chapter. It seems that while Natalie isn't giving some gushy, famewhore-y, LeAnn Rimes-esque interview and posing with her ass and ring out, Natalie's baby-daddy Benjamin Millepied has no problems getting a little press for himself. Benjamin just gave an interview to People Magazine so that we can get to him a little bit better:

He may be engaged to one of the season’s most buzzed-about movie stars but Natalie Portman’s new fiancé, Benjamin Millepied, is a superstar in his own right in the world of ballet.

Born in Bordeaux, France, to a decathlete father and a dance teacher mother, the principal dancer with the prestigious New York City Ballet was inspired as a child by Mikhail Baryshnikov in White Nights.

But Millepied, 33, took his role as Portman’s dance partner in Black Swan (which he also choreographed) because he admired Director Darren Aronofsky’s work, and because he was certain “that I wasn’t going into another sort of average, uninteresting dance film.”

Here are five more things to know about Portman’s groom-to-be – and the future father her child:

1. It’s in His Name
Perhaps he was destined to dance? The name “Millepied” roughly means “a thousand feet” in French and it is reportedly not a stage name. Portman, on the other hand, was born Natalie Hershlag.

2. He Choreographs in the Kitchen
“I love to cook,” Millepied tells PEOPLE. “Nowadays I actually cook Italian-style food more than French heavy sauces. I make a good salad, some great roasted vegetables, grilled fish. I’m crazy about L.A. because at the farmers’ market you find all kinds of wild mushrooms.”

3. He’s on the Drum Beat
Millepied’s family moved to Dakar, Senegal, for a brief period when he was a child. “We lived next to this really famous family of drummers,” he has said, “so I played the drums seriously until I was 12 or 13 [years old].”

4. He’s Also a Director
“I just co-directed a French film in Paris with the actress Lea Seydoux (Inglorious Basterds) and I’m actually in it with her,” he says of the film Time Doesn’t Stand Still. “There’s one dance in it but it’s not really a dance film.”

5. He Proves the Uptight Ballet Dancer Is Just a Stereotype
“They are really normal and fun and outgoing people,” he says of his colleagues in dance. “Especially the new generation. The technical level is higher than it’s ever been and they’re as dedicated as ever. But they are people who know how to have a good time, that’s for sure.”

[From People]

Did anyone else read this and think back to that story from Page Six about how Benjamin is an obsessed social-climber who dumped his live-in girlfriend as soon as Natalie threw him her seductive bitchface? Yeah… it's interesting. As I've said before, I wish them well, and I hope Natalie has a safe and healthy pregnancy, and I also think she's now the lead in her Oscar race, and good for her. BUT - Benjamin seems like he's trading on his connection to Natalie to build himself a little career, right? Maybe it will all work out. Maybe not.

Elton John is going on tour one month after his baby was born

I'm actually very happy for Elton John and David Furnish - I think they wanted to become fathers for a while now, and it's nice that they found a way to do it. They welcomed baby Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John on Christmas, a nice little late-in-life baby. You'd think that the two would be focused completely on little Zach, right? Not so much… Elton John already has a 26-city tour planned for Europe and America. Baby needs some new booties?

Sir Elton and his partner David Furnish became fathers for the first time on Christmas Day after Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born to an unnamed surrogate in California.

Despite their joy at the new arrival Sir Elton will be occupied with the demands of a 26-date tour of the US and Europe from January to June this year.

It will start in France on January 26 in Lievin, and finish in Ireland on June 11 including performances in Switzerland and Germany. The singer also has scheduled dates in the U.S. and Canada.

It has also been reported that the couple will still host their annual Oscars party in Hollywood on Feburary 21 this year.

Sir Elton announced the birth amid claims that he and Furnish may have paid an agency more than £100,000.

[From The Telegraph]

The gay-parenting thing doesn't bother me in the least. I'm not even concerned with the age thing. But THIS bothers me. Why schedule all of this crap when you know when your baby is due? It's like the Sarah Jessica Parker stuff all over again - you pay all of this money to get these beautiful babies, and you're going to run all over working non-stop when the babies are newborns? SJP left her newborn twin girls for TWO MONTHS right after they were born. While Elton's schedule doesn't look that hideous, it's still worrisome. BUT - considering the 26 dates are spread out over six months, maybe it will be fine? Ugh.

Also - David Furnish made a statement to Us Weekly about the Ukrainian baby that he and Elton tried to adopt last year:

Sir Elton John, 62, and partner David Furnish, 48, welcomed their son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John on Dec. 25, UsMagazine.com exclusively reported Monday. “For many years we have talked about fulfilling one of our greatest wishes by becoming parents,” John tells Us. “And now this wish has been granted to us, we feel so blessed and lucky.”

The birth marks the realization of John and Furnish’s dream of becoming parents. Last fall, the couple visited an orphanage in the Ukraine and planned to adopt a 14-month-old boy named Lev and his HIV-positive brother Artyom. “David always wanted to adopt a child and I always said ‘no’ because I am 62 and I think because of the traveling I do and the life I have, maybe it wouldn’t be fair for the child,” John told reporters. “But having seen Lev today, I would love to adopt him. I don’t know how we do that but he has stolen my heart. And he has stolen David’s heart and it would be wonderful if we can have a home [together]“.

Earlier this year, their petition to adopt was declined by the Ukranian authorities, and Furnish told the BBC that they were “massively gutted” by the rejection. Since then, Furnish and John have worked tirelessly behind the scenes through Ukranian lawyers to find Lev and Artyom a happy home.

Furnish commented: “Although Ukranian law does not permit Elton and I to adopt Lev and Artyom, we are determined to give them the best chance of living a happy and healthy life with a loving Ukranian family. The arrival of our son has done nothing but strengthen our resolve to help these two wonderful children. We are, however, constrained by Ukranian policy and legal procedure, and this is why for the past 12 months we have retained a leading Ukranian law firm to assist us in this process.”

After being rejected in their adoption bid, John and Furnish decided to pursue their dream of becoming parents with the help of a surrogate. The couple have told Us that they wish to keep those details private.

Though Zachary is John and Furnish’s first child, the five-time Grammy winner and his partner have already had some parenting practice: between them, they have 6 godchildren, including John Lennon’s son, Sean; Elizabeth Hurley’s son, Damien; and David and Victoria Beckham’s sons Brooklyn and Romeo.

[From Us Weekly]

Elton has said before that he plans to leave his estate to his godchildren - but that was before he had a kid of his own. Do you think he's already changing his will? Probably.

Ah, well. Best wishes to Elton, David and Zach.

Prince William & Kate Middleton will have to wash their own dirty knickers

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 06:33 AM PST

wenn31383301

Us Weekly already reported this little tidbit several weeks ago, on one of their cover stories about Kate Middleton. According to that older story, Prince William doesn't want to have a staff at his disposal while he and Kate are living in Wales (for William's RAF training/duties). BUT - when they are in London, they have lots of servants at their disposal, at least according to Us Weekly's reporting. Now The Telegraph, that bastion of conservative Britannia, is reporting something similar. According to their sources, it's still William who is pushing the idea of "no servants" and Kate is just quietly bidding her time until she can pay someone to fart for her.

His father famously employs almost 150 staff to cater for his every need, but Prince William has insisted he and Kate Middleton have no intention of taking on butlers or household staff when they begin married life in April.

The future king and queen have done everything they can to live life like any "normal" couple during their weekends together at the Prince's rented cottage on Anglesey, doing their own shopping, cooking and cleaning. And although they have bodyguards on 24-hour duty protecting their isolated cottage, they have told aides they intend to carry on fending for themselves when they return home as newlyweds.

The couple believe that sharing their home with servants would ruin the intimacy of their relationship, and will carry on looking after themselves until the Prince finishes his tour of duty as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot in three years' time.

A senior royal source said: "It's very much their instinct to manage on their own. They want to do their duty and make sure they are a real asset to the country but they are private individuals who want to get on with their lives. Prince William is not into extravagance and, like any other young officer in the armed forces, that is how he chooses to live his life. He and Catherine live without domestic staff and they wouldn't do it any other way. That's the life they want to lead. The Prince is committed to his career at RAF Valley until 2013 and he wants his wife by his side during that time."

The Prince is very close to his grandmother, the Queen, and is aware of how fondly she and the Duke of Edinburgh recall their early married life together in Malta, where the Duke was based as a naval officer.

The Duke and the then Princess Elizabeth spent some of the happiest years of their lives at the Villa Guardamangia, the rented home of the Duke's uncle, Lord Mountbatten, where they lived in near-anonymity from 1949 to 1951 and regularly went dancing at a local hotel.

Prince William is also determined to shield his bride-to-be from the sort of media attention that surrounded his mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales, and cherishes the seclusion of Anglesey as a result.

His insistence on doing his own cooking and washing up is in stark contrast to his father, the Prince of Wales, who employs 149 staff, of whom 25 are classed as personal staff for himself, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princes William and Harry.

They include butlers, chauffeurs, valets and chefs and are paid a total of £6.3 million.
The BBC journalist Jeremy Paxman claimed in a book about the royal family that the Prince had four servants in attendance to help him get dressed every morning, and that one aide squeezed his toothpaste onto his brush for him and another once held a bottle while he produced a urine sample.

The claims were denied at the time by Clarence House, but the Prince has struggled against accusations of extravagance for decades.

[From The Telegraph]

I enjoy the comparison of Prince William to the Prince of Wales, but seriously, the Prince of Wales is one of the hardest working royals out there. I'm not saying he needs more than a hundred staffers, but I am saying that Prince Oedipus and his PR team (of STAFFERS) shouldn't throw stones, considering William barely does one royal event a month. Of course William doesn't need a huge staff - he's hardly a working royal. That being said, of course William has a staff. He has a couple of secretaries and a butler-type, at the very least, but those staff members are "counted" as part of Charles' staff.

And while I'm pretty sure that Kate isn't going to enter the royal family with a full slate of royal duties because she and Will will try to get pregnant right away, I still find this whole "Waity Katy's Dilemma" thing hilarious. She's marrying the future king and she's expected to wait on him like a servant! But she's going to be sheltered AGAIN from doing any actual work on behalf of the family. I wonder if Kate considers this one a win?

Joe Francis’ fake marriage is over after less than two months

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 06:19 AM PST

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - SEPTEMBER 02: Joe Francis and Christina McLarty arrives at the opening night of Taste Of Beverly Hills Wine & Food Festival on September 2, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California. (Photo by Valerie Macon/Getty Images for Taste of Beverly Hills)
Girls Gone Wild creep Joe Francis got “married” to his female doppleganger, entertainment reporter Christina McLarty, in a lavish ceremony at his Mexico estate this November. Francis and McLarty entered into a “civil domestic partnership” officiated by Kevin Huvane of Creative Artists Agency in front of 200 guests including a bunch of Kardashians. They explained at the time that they weren’t getting traditionally married because same sex couples didn’t have the right, and issued a statement claiming “we don't believe it's appropriate to be married until our gay and lesbian friends are afforded the same rights as us to legally marry in the United States.” Well it may have saved them a lot of trouble, because Francis and McLarty were kaput after less than a month together as man and wife. Radar reports that she moved out shortly after Thanksgiving.

Less than two months after Joe Francis and long-term girlfriend Christina McLarty married in a civil ceremony at his luxurious Mexican retreat, the pair have split, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

“Joe Francis’ wife moved out, and they might be getting a divorce,” a source close to the couple told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

A rep for Francis denied the story to RadarOnline.com on Tuesday.

But the source who is very close to the situation said Christina “moved out of their Bel Air home and into her mother’s house.”

It is not known if she has been staying with her mother temporarily, but the split was an open secret among many of Francis’ pals.

After a four year courtship with the CBS reporter, 37 year-old Francis popped the question in San Tropez while on vacation. In November, the pair had a lavish wedding ceremony at his Punta Mita estate. But their marriage was short lived, and Francis was overheard discussing his separation with close friends at Bruce and Kris Jenner’s annual Christmas eve party.

“He was talking about the details of the separation openly while at the Kardashian holiday party,” our source explained.

“Christina moved out a bit after Thanksgiving.”

[From Radar]

At least she got out. I’m more surprised to hear that they dated for a full four years. It must take incredibly low self esteem, and high levels of delusion and masochism to put up with the king of all douches for that long. Once she was looking at a lifetime with the guy, even those long held defenses broke down and McLarty faced reality and split. I wonder what prompted the breakup and if there was abuse, cheating or both involved. Not much would shock me about Francis.

Charlie Sheen was partying with hookers & blow for Christmas

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 06:00 AM PST

wenn2377295

While our collective Christmases weren't as Hermes-filled as Beyonce's, all of us were doing better than Charlie Sheen. Yes, having avoided prison and any consequence for his coke-and-rage-filled actions, Charlie Sheen spent the holidays in the warm embrace of network love, too much money, paid companionship and blow. Somebody had a snowy Christmas! Ugh. According to Radar's sources, Charlie blew (operative word) off all of his family obligations to spend the holidays in a never-ending "party" of hookers and cocaine. That's our Charlie?

Charlie Sheen is partying hard once again and missed THREE family Christmas events as he lived the high life, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

One year after being arrested on domestic violence charges in Aspen, Colorado, the Two and a Half Men star was nowhere to be found at family events where he was expected.

“He skipped going to his brother Emilio’s, didn’t show up at Denise Richards’ house and also skipped seeing his daughter Cassandra,” a source close to the family told RadarOnline.com.

So where has Charlie been?

“He’s back partying again,” a source told us. “Although it’s tough to say he’s back partying because he never really quit!”

Sheen had a disastrous night partying with porn star Capri Anderson in New York, but that hasn’t slowed him. Anderson filed a criminal complaint claiming Sheen held her against her will and Sheen filed a lawsuit against her for extortion.

“He did a lot of cocaine that night,” a source close to that situation told RadarOnline.com, and Sheen hasn’t stopped.

“He likes hookers and he likes coke and he’s got enough money for both,” the source said.

While the star blew off the family events for Christmas he wasn’t suffering from holiday depression. “He’s been having a great time partying like crazy for the past several weeks,” the source said.

[From Radar]

I believe this. I don't think Charlie "learned" any lesson from his experiences over the past year. It was just over a year ago that he beat the hell out of his wife and threatened her with a knife when they were blitzed out of their skulls, and Charlie skated. Then he locks a hooker in a hotel closet, trashes a hotel room and all the cops want from him is an autograph. When is Martin Sheen going to stage another intervention? Or has Martin thrown up his hands at Charlie at this point? Could be. If somebody doesn't step up, Charlie’s downward spiral is just going to continue on throughout the year. Hookers and blow for everybody!

Matt Damon put a hair tie on his tongue to perfect True Grit character’s voice

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 05:52 AM PST

Any day that I get to watch a Matt Damon interview ends up being a good one, and this day is no exception. Damon showed MTV’s Josh Horowitz exactly how he perfected the gravelly lisp as his character LaBoeuf (pronounced La-Beef and no relation to Shia) on True Grit. He asked if anyone had a ponytail tie and then promptly put it on his tongue, explaining that it did hurt but that he was ok with it. (You can watch that part above, with more interview videos with Damon on MTV.com.)

After watching the trailers for True Grit, I’m pretty sure Damon only used a hair tie on his tongue when his character was chewing tobacco. (Horowitz says it’s the second half of the film, which I hope doesn’t reveal any spoilers.) Like he normally sounds like he’s doing a milder version of his Matthew McConaughey impression, but in scenes where he’s got a mouthful of snuff (1:10 into this video) he talks with that pronounced lisp. This movie looks so damn good, I’m really looking forward to it. It’s out in the US on December 22.

Horowitz also asked Damon about the future of the Bourne series, and he was vague about it. Damon said he didn’t know what was planned for the latest reboot, but had faith that it would be true to the spirit of the franchise. He also didn’t rule out reprising his role. “I do know that whatever [they're] doing won’t preclude Paul [Greengrass] and I from coming back and doing ours.” Please let there be another Bourne - just one more is enough.

Teen Mom’s Amber out of jail, will probably get custody of daughter again

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 05:51 AM PST

48781, ANDERSON, INDIANA - Monday December 27, 2010. Teen Mom, Amber Portwood's booking photo after being taken into custody Monday by Madison County Police on charges of domestic violence. Placed on a 24-hour hold with a $5000 bail, Portwood was formally charged with four counts (three felony, one misdemeanor) related to several alleged physical attacks against Gary Shirley, her ex-fiance and father to her 2-year-old daughter Leah. Portwood has reportedly been barred from contact with her daughter, and that Shirley will have temporary custody of the child. Portwood is expected to be released on Tuesday afternoon. Teen Mom’s Amber Portwood, 20, has been released from jail after being put on a 24 hour hold for three felony counts of domestic violence and one misdemeanor for child neglect. Many of us were relieved when we heard that Amber had been given a “no contact” order for her daughter Leah, 2, who had previously been placed under state supervision but was returned to Amber’s custody after she moved and actually bought a bed for the toddler. Now that Amber is out, having posted 10% of her $5,000 bail and entered a “not guilty” plea, her lawyer assures us that Leah will soon be back in Amber’s care. I hope this guy is wrong, but sadly it will probably take a lot more than neglectful parenting and some beat-downs on camera for Amber to lose custody:

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood’s life is about to get a whole lot better.

The reality TV star, who was released from jail Tuesday after spending 24 hours behind bars on charges of battery for fighting with her ex-fiancé Gary Shirley, will soon be reunited with her 2-year-old daughter, Leah, according to her lawyer.

“It’s my understanding that Leah will be placed back with her,” attorney Robert Schembs tells PEOPLE.

On Monday Portwood, 20, was charged with three felonies, including two counts of domestic battery and one count of neglect of a dependent, as well as one misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. She was booked Monday afternoon and kept overnight at the Madison County jail in Anderson, Ind.

She is no longer allowed to have contact with Shirley, according to Schembs. Still, he adds, “To my knowledge, they’re on good terms.”

“I’m really proud of her,” Schembs says, adding that he saw the reality TV star Monday night in jail. “She was staying strong. Her outlook was positive. She had shock, of course, but having said that, she was in good spirits. She’s really trying.”

Radar Online has the details from court papers filed by prosecutors. They state that Amber told them “the incidents were out of anger and were not staged for the reality show” and that she did “not remember everything due to some medical issues in which she is under a Dr.'s care for currently.” That story also reveals that the judge chose not to enforce the no contact order between Amber and Leah, which probably explains why her lawyer is so positive that Amber will get custody again. The judge did enforce the no contact order between Amber and Leah’s dad, Gary Shirley, however.

There’s a follow up article on Radar claiming that Amber wanted to break up with her boyfriend and reconcile with Gary but was prevented from seeing him by that no contact order. Meanwhile TMZ has a video of Gary on the phone with Amber while she cries and yells at him. He’s obviously mocking her to his friend taping him, and is seen laughing at her while he makes empty promises and apologizes. What a mess these kids are.

Kelsey Grammer tells People he’s getting married ASAP

Yesterday we heard that Kelsey Grammer was gunning for a quickie divorce from his estranged wife, Camille, that would allow him to quickly remarry his 26 year younger fiance, Kayte Walsh. The story was that Kelsey was trying to make the split final to marry Kayte ASAP and then deal with splitting his considerable assets with Camille later.

Kelsey has issued a statement about the matter to People Magazine, and he basically confirms this news, saying that he’s marrying for love. You know he’s doing this to really stick it to Camille too.

Of course Kelsey Grammer is anxious to get married: That’s because he’s deeply in love with his fiancée Kayte Walsh.

The actor has confirmed an impending wedding while also responding to a barrage of reports about him and Walsh, including that he’s pushing for a quick divorce from his wife, Camille Grammer, 42, so that he can marry Walsh, 29, as soon as possible.

“Kayte and I are marrying because we are engaged, and we are engaged because we are in love and see no reason to postpone our happiness any longer,” the actor tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Grammer does not say when the nuptials will happen, but adds: “We are planning something we wish to be a private affair among several of our friends. Anything else is conjecture and false. Kayte and I are the only reliable source for this story. End of story.”

Grammer has two kids with Camille, daughter Mason, 8, and Jude, 6. He also has two older daughters, Spencer, 27, and Greer, 18, from previous relationships.

They’re getting married because they don’t want to “postpone happiness,” as if getting married was the only route to happiness. I get the feeling that Kelsey wants to get the hell out of his marriage and that attaching himself to a young chick is the only way he feels that’s possible. This kind of makes it clear to me how Kelsey ended up with a wretched person like Camille. He may seem like he’s taking the high road, especially compared to Camille, but this move shows he’s just as petty as she is.

Camille recently told Extra that Kelsey was away from her and the kids before Christmas and that she was crying decorating the tree without him. “Kelsey enjoyed decorating the tree and that's something we all did as a family, and so last night I was decorating the tree with the kids alone and it brought a tear to my eye, or several. It's definitely not easy. But you know, time to make new traditions.” Camille also claims that Kelsey told her their kids, daughter Mason, 9, and son Jude, 6, would “get over it” once they realized he wasn’t coming back. I’m wondering whether Kelsey saw his youngest kids on Christmas or not. The fact that he didn’t even bother to mention them in his statement at all makes me think that he didn’t.
