MEDAL RUNNERS: Sprinter Allyson Felix WINS Olympic Gold Medal, Andre Merritt & Jason Richardson Win For TEAM USA!

US sprinter Allyson Felix sprinter all the way to a gold medal in the 200 meters yesterday.  Get the deets on this fab lady inside and see who else is bringing home medals to the USA....

During the U.S. Olympic trials, Allyson Felix, 26, ran 21.69 in the 200m, history's fourth-fastest performance, making her a fan fav in London. And yesterday, the runner ran all the way to a gold medal in the race.

Though Allyson is a very decorated athlete, this is her first individual Olympic gold medal.  Born and raised in California, she attended USC and describes her talent on the track as a gift from God.

She is coached by Bobby Kersee (the husband of legendary track star Jackie Joyner-Kersee) who also led Florence Griffith Joyner to gold back in the day.

The poised sprinter tweeted, I've been waiting for this opportunity for so long. Praying that His will be done, and not my own. Ready to run my HEART out.

Congrats Allyson!  And major congrats to YBF Chick Carmelita Jeter (pictured above on far left) who grabbed the Bronze in the same race.  She also grabbed the silver medal in the 100M Finals a few days ago.  Sanya Richards-Ross, who already has 1 Gold, took 5th place in this race.

 

As for the fellas:

Aries Merritt copped the gold medal in the men's 110-meter hurdles yesterday.

His teammate Jason Richardson flew to take the silver in the same race. 

 

As for one of the fastest men in the world:

Though US sprinter Tyson Gay finished a disappointing fourth place in the London 2012 men's 100m final, he was all smiles for Athletics Night presented by Omega House in London last night.  Tyson hopes to medal as a member of the USA's 4x100m athletics relay team on August 11.

Today is the 49th birthday of the late great Whitney Houston. Come inside and celebrate her smile and other great moments in her life....

Today, we're remembering the great things about one of the first YBF Chicks we remember dancing on our tvs, with a pop style and singing with the most soul-ful of voices. We remember her smile and her voice and more.

She gave us the most memorable version of our national anthem, some of the greatest love songs of all time and some pretty funny one-liners throughout her career.

In honor of her legacy, her daughter Bobbi Kristina and Bobbi's "partner" Nick Gordon got tattoos.  BK tweeted, Tat tat tatted YURP.. ;) now your truly ALWAYS with us mommy (: we love you @nickdgordon always&forever{<3}

31-year-old "Anything" singer Monica made her way to Soho to shop it up after her promo rounds with her hubby Shannon Brown.  And rocked all white with a green cargo jacket and multi-colored hi-top sneakers with her red Chanel bag:

HOTNESS: Tyra Banks ZIPS Around NYC To Get Sexy For "2 Days In New York" Movie Premiere

That's the Tyra we know and love!  The modelicious Ms. Banks is making singledom look hot as she's been hitting red carpets looking fabulous these days.  And yesterday was no different as she rocked a one shoulder curve hugging zipper back blue dress to hit Chris Rock's 2 Days In New York movie premiere.

At The Cinema Society in Manhattan last night, the 38-year-old "America's Next Top Model" host hit a premiere in her fave look of a zipped back dress and her tan sling backs (we're not loving the shoes).  And she didn't have her rumored boo, the newest ANTM judge Robert Evans, on hand.  Chick was just fine flying solo.

Looking hot Ms. Banks!  By the way, famed movie director Tyler Perry will be guest starring, in addition to Alicia Keys, on the upcoming season of "Top Model."  Tyra explained that Tyra will present acting challenges to the model contestants, while Alicia will serve as a mentor.

Season 19 kicks off August 24.

Trina & LeToya Luckett JET Into London...To Cheer On Their Ballers James Harden & Kevin Durant

LeToya Luckett just landed in London early this morning.  And we've confirmed that her first stop was North Greenwhich Arena to see her rumored boyfriend Kevin Durant ball out for TEAM USA tonight.  Interestingly, Trina, who is rumored to be dating Kevin's USA teammate James Harden, flew into London this week as well.  And hit the arena with her.  Pics inside...

Singer LeToya's Luckett's bestie Keshia Knight Pulliam posted a pic of LeToya, rapper Trina, friend Arian and herself having a ladies' night out in Londontown tonight.  And the "Torn" singer tweeted about her long flight into the city.  She jetted across the pond to cheer on her boo Kevin Durant in the Olympics.

She posted a pic of her and Keshia saying, "Look who I found in London."

LeToya and Kevin, as well as Trina & James, have been mum about whether they are or aren't dating.  But pics speak for themselves.  Not mad at all.  Go USA!

Chris Brown wants fans to partake in his new Mechanical Dummy line so he posted pics of himself and Karreuche Tran modeling the clothes he's drummed up so far.

Hey Karreuche!  The clothes look a little masculine, but it may just be what's selected from this shot.

The clothing line is one of the more positive things to happen to Chris this week.  As it's happened many times before, photoshopped seual pics and rumors involving Rihanna all hit the net again this week.  But Chris kept it moving as usual.

In a new promo for the 2012 VMAs, 'Ye & his "perfect b*tch" star with funnyman Kevin Hart.  Kevin is trying his hardest to "join" the duo at the show by dressing like them and hanging with them and trying to get a triplet-style celebrity name.  So Kim has not one, but two famous black men in her bedroom all to herself?  Her fantasy has been fulfilled.

Em recently spoke out against being compared to Atlanta's "L&HH" star Mimi Faust saying, 

 I mean I spoke to Mimi and watching her I felt for her. I understand how it feels to love someone and feel that pain, but I’ve never been through anything that she’s been through. Fab only has one child with me so I don’t know what that feels like to have a man with many. I’ve never dealt with anything on that level in my life. Dajuan Porter (a popular DJ in Pennsylvania) was arrested recently and charged with three counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, three counts of sexual assault and burglary, according to NewsOne.com. Dajuan would put the men in a compromising position (he allegedly spiked their drinks) and performed oral sex on them as they slept. In each case, the assault ended once the men woke up and stopped him.

And this must be some type of fetish for Dajuan as last year, he was charged in Worcester County, Maryland, for sexually assaulting his sleeping cell mate in prison.What's really hood?

HURDLE GALS: Track Stars Dawn Harper & Kellie Wells Grab Medals, LoLo Jones GOES OFF On Media After Losing

The YBF chicks are looking to dominate the track & field races in London.  So far, both Kellie Wells and Dawn Harper copped medals during last night's 100-meter Hurdles race.  And after their USA teammate LoLo Jones came in fourth, she went in on the media this morning about why she believes she's getting crucified for losing.

In a super close race ending with Australia taking the Gold, TEAM USA also scored two medals--Dawn Harper taking the Silver and Kellie Williams taking the Bronze.

Dawn (pictured above) said about the race:

"When I leaned at the [finish] line, I looked over and that's when I finally saw her," Harper said of Pearson. "And I was like, 'Did I sneak? Did I just sneak and get past her?' I looked up, and I actually realized I didn't win when I saw her fall to the ground. I was like 'Dang it, she's happy. She just won.' "

"12.37 is not bad. I cannot be mad. I enjoyed the whole process."

The 28-year-old from East St. Louis, Illinois took the Gold in this same race at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.  But silver is something to cheer for too!

 

And the Nike sponsored Hampton University grad Kellie Wells is just as happy about her bronze.  

 

But LoLo Jones, who has become a celebrity due to her strong stance on her Christianity, saving herself for marriage and making a comeback after her Beijing Olympics bout, isn't happy.

She came in 4th, and she feels like people are on her case for it.  Despite most media outlets being extremely supportive of her career and the fact she's a record holder who is doing big things on the track, LoLo feels like all media is against her.

The NYT did a profile on the 30-year-old a few days before the race and one point said, "Jones has decided she will be whatever anyone wants her to be — vixen, virgin, victim — to draw attention to herself and the many products she endorses."

The Times also quoted an academic who had a few words people deemed as scathing:

“It reminds me of Anna Kournikova,” said Janice Forsyth, the director of the International Centre for Olympic Studies at the University of Western Ontario.

This was a reference to the former Russian tennis player whose looks received far more attention than her relatively meager skills.

“It’s really a sad commentary on the industry Lolo is in,” Forsyth said. “Limited opportunities are there for women to gain a foothold unless they sell themselves as sex kittens or virgins for sale. I don’t know if this is Lolo being Lolo or part of a marketing scheme to remain relevant in an Olympic industry where if you are not the Olympic champion, you are nothing.”

LoLo went on "The Today Show" this morning in tears (she was also in tears after coming in first in the qualifying race and said people are "hating on her") and stated:

"I think it was crazy just because it was two days before I competed, and then the fact that it was from a U.S. media," Jones tearfully told the Today Show following her fourth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. "They should be supporting our U.S. Olympic athletes and instead they just ripped me to shreds. I just thought that that was crazy because I worked six days a week, every day, for four years for a 12-second race and the fact that they just tore me apart, which is heartbreaking."

"They didn't even do their research, calling me the Anna Kournikova of track," she said. "I have the American record. I am the American record holder indoors, I have two world indoor titles. Just because I don't boast about these things, I don't think I should be ripped apart by media. I laid it out there, fought hard for my country and it's just a shame that I have to deal with so much backlash when I'm already so brokenhearted as it is."

Again, a huge percentage of media, us included, praise her for her talents.  And never in history has every single media outlet adored an athlete.  There will always be criticism, especially on the professional level that one chose to enter and get paid for.  The real test is can you move past it and do what you came to do.

Solange LANDS Deal As FACE Of Madewell + Is Nia Long Set To STAR In Film Version Of Zane's "ADDICTED"?

Solange has landed a new modeling gig as the face of Madewell clothing company.  See the pics inside and get the deets about Zane's Addicted heading to the big screen.

Solange Knowles has landed a major modeling contract with Madewell--J. Crew's sister store.  She's already shot a few ads for the company's Fall 2012 collection which she rocks with her big curls.  And the styles are so her.  The style of Madewell is described as casual with attitude:

Madewell is a women's-only, item-driven line focused on "timeless and ageless" casual merchandise. The attitude is clean, modern and affordable; items are priced 20 to 30 percent lower than J. Crew, and the intent is to provide value without being too volume-driven. The bulk of the business is jeans, chinos, T-shirts, woven shirts, sweaters and fleece sweatshirts, and about 80 percent of the assortment is less than $100. Most of the key items are in the $48 to $78 range.

Jordin Sparks makes wholesome look sexy on the September 2012 cover of REDBOOK magazine.  The singer and actress is poised to take over theaters next Friday with the lead role in Sparkle, and she's dishing all on how Whitney Houston, weight loss,  & the love of her life Jason Derulo, have changed things.

Jordin's looking stunning in orange as she covers the pages of REBOOK's big September issue.  And she's being surprisingly open about how weight loss has affected her life, how much she loves her man (they just celebrated their 1-year anniversary on Augiust 1!) and why she chooses to avoid the Hollywood party scene. 

On how Whitney Houston's death puts Sparkle in a new light:
"I get so overwhelmed because it's my first film, and for my first film to be so deep and heavy...I got to work with one of my idols and sing with her, and she even played my mother. I don't know if anything will ever be as good as this. Sometimes I ask myself, 'Why did I deserve to have a part in a film like this?' I don’t want this to come off crazy, but somebody said to me, 'It's like Whitney essentially passed the torch.' And to hear that, it's just nuts."

On Whitney’s struggles with addiction:

I can only talk about what I experienced. I do think there is a different aura around the film now. I think there was some skepticism before. And there are certainly some themes in the movie that everyone would have wanted to ask Whitney about like, “Did you relate your own life to this part,” which I’m sure she would have answered honestly. The cool thing about Whitney was that she was not scared to talk about or confront the things she had gone through.

On her recent weight loss:
"My whole journey has been about self-acceptance. There's no quick or magical way to lose weight. You just have to do it the natural way — diet and exercise and stick to it — and be able to do it at your own pace. Everyone has their own thing."

On finding love with fellow musician Jason Derulo:
"We both went through things that were tragic, and that brought us even closer together. He had a near-death experience, and I lost someone. Priorities get in line when stuff like that happens. Family is what matters — and being with the people you love."

On why Hollywood's party scene isn't for her:
"Oh, I'm waaay too scared to dabble in anything like that. I like the way my heart beats, I like the way I think; I don't need or want anything to change that. The first thing I think of is, 'What would my grandparents say?' My mom and dad would kick my butt."

Beverly Hills was poppin' yesterday as celebs like Stevie J and Joseline, Grant Hill and Paula Patton were spotted out and baout. See pics inside....

"L&HHATL" stars Stevie J and Joselin were seen holding hands while hitting up Mr. Chow for dinner in Beverly Hills yesterday.  These two are comedy at its finest.

And we want to know why Joseline didn't take the tag off the booty of her pants.  So are these two just a flat out couple now?  Even though we hear Stevie was wining and dining MiMi in Atlanta a little over a week ago right before he and Joseline jetted to NYC (before heading to Beverly Hills)?  Chiiile....

Also at Mr. Chow.....

NBAer Grant Hill arrived solo at Mr. Chow as well.  He's in L.A. now as the baller signed a new contract this summer to move to the L.A. Clippers.

 

He looked great in his blue suit.

YBF chick Paula Patton made the rounds in BH yesterday. 

Rocking a light blue summery dress, the actress was her usual smiley self.  By the way, she's still booking films left and right.  Mission Impossible: 5 was just announced and she's rumored to be reprising her role as the ass-kicking "Jane Carter."  And she's also starring in the upcoming romantic comedy from David E. Talbert, Baggage Claim, also starring Oscar winning actress Octavia Spencer and Derek Luke.
