Is It Really A Wrap???: Rihanna And Matt Kemp Are Done…

Posted: 10 Dec 2010 08:04 PM PST

Rihanna and Matt Kemp

After Matt Kemp was seen getting it in with some sleezy chicken at the club,Rihanna turned around and found somebody’s son to feel up on as. Word is… these two have been playing tit for tat when it comes to the cheating and instead of Rihanna and Matt continuing to fake the funk, they have decided to call it quits…

Matt Kemp and Rihanna have been dating for quite a while. Throughout their relationship, rumors of cheating on both sides surfaced daily. Now the baseball star and his pop star girlfriend have called it quits. With Kemp smack dab in the middle of his off-season, and Rihanna traveling the globe promoting her music, the two slowly drifted apart.

Kemp's penchant for clubbing was also partly to blame for the demise of their relationship. My sources tell me Kemp left a Hollywood club last week with two girls in tow and brought them home. My eyewitness who was there, tells me the two girls both crashed in Matt's room the entire night. I doubt he was reading them bedtime stories. Rihanna was ready to move on as well. Her reported romance with Drake was semi responsible for the fights that eventually lead to the split. I wouldn't be surprised if they rekindled a few times. but my source tells me it's officially over.

Dayyummm Rihanna… well, we’re surprise that it lasted as long as it did but she’s young, Rihanna will have a new victim in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1

Shaunie O’Neal: I’m Not Ready To Be Married Again But I Do Have A Special Someone That Can…

Posted: 10 Dec 2010 05:51 PM PST

Shaunie O Neal

It’s been a year since Shaunie O’Neal took Shaq for as much as her pre-nup would allow. She’s been busy with VH1 as the executive producer to “Basketball Wives” and “Football Wives”. After 10 years of dedicating her life to being a loving mother and “faithful” wife… Shaunie’s main focus is taking care of her kids, the cougar meat and creating a legacy. In a recent article written by Shaunie, she lays out the divorce survival guide for all the women who think life is over after divorce…

You probably think I'm going to tell you all my business, but I'm not. But what I will share is how I was able to find life after divorce.

As you may know, I was married to a very well-known NBA player, whose whole world I became totally engrossed in, and somehow, along the way, I lost myself. Don't get me wrong. I was more than happy being a supportive wife and mother, but there was a part of me that was itching to create my own identity and leave a legacy for my children.

Sometimes, as wives and mothers, we become so good at taking care of other people that we forget how to take care of ourselves. Five children and 10 years later, I was faced with the painful truth that my marriage was over, and I had to take a long, hard look in the mirror and make a decision. Would I wallow in self-pity and let the ordeal overtake me or would I find the strength to keep going and get back into the game of life? I chose the latter, and my plan was simple…

Looking back, almost a year later, it amazes me how much my life has changed and how my determination to keep moving forward, for myself and my children, has yielded an endless amount of opportunities— opportunities that I quite honestly may not have had the courage to say yes to before. My mother always told me, "God would never put more on you than you can bear," and that is so true. Through this whole process I've found strength I never knew I had, and I realized my true potential and self-worth…

And so here I am, closing a very long chapter in my life and starting a new and exciting one. I'm proud to say that season two of Basketball Wives will now be an hour long and will be back on VH1 December 12, and Football Wives, for which I'm also executive producer, has gotten off to a great start. And I'm writing a book (not a tell-all; I'm still keeping my business to myself) to encourage other women with children that there is life after divorce.

There are so many things I want to do in this new [phase of my life], including finding love again. I'm dating someone special and have found it to be extremely helpful in the rebuilding process. The worst thing I could do is believe that because I'm divorced I'm not desirable or because I'm divorced I'll never find love again. And while I'm not quite ready to be married again, I'm ready for whatever life brings my way, and I know I can handle it.

SHAUNIE'S POST-DIVORCE PLAN

1. Surround yourself with people you trust and who will be a great support system for you and your children.

2. Figure out what you are passionate about and start working toward it every day.

3. Pray as much as possible to help eliminate any negative thoughts of regret, doubt, and fear.

4. Set aside "me" time that includes exercising and doing fun activities with friends to help you find yourself again.

5. Keep things as amicable as possible with your children's other parent to minimize the impact on them. We are the ones going through a divorce—notthem—so don't put them in the middle.

A “Lil Positivity”: NYC Media Personality Egypt Puts On For Her City

Posted: 10 Dec 2010 04:23 PM PST

Egypt Sherrod

‘Tis the season! And Egypt Sherrod is embracing the meaning of the season: stepping outside of herself to make sure the less fortunate are straight.

Here’s how Egypt is giving back.

"Egypt's Give Back Tour" is a coat, toy, and fundraising drive to benefit the Tri-State area's financially challenged residents. The 5-day tour will be anchored by a daily 5-hour radio live broadcast originating from locations in Brooklyn, Bronx, Harlem, Queens and Newark, NJ (heard via 107.5 WBLS-FM).

While the holidays can be the most joyful times of the year, they can also be the most stressful times of the year as people are faced with the decision of want vs. need. Having recognized that one small act of consideration or selflessness can impact a life on a major level, the "Egypt's Give Back Tour" was birthed.

"Recent statistics report that well over a half a million NYC residents will lose their unemployment benefits between now and May of 2011. That number is staggering!" Egypt stated. "I've always felt a sense of responsibility to utilize the power I have behind the radio microphone to serve a much greater calling to help our communities; one that gives a voice and hope to the legions of Tri-state residents whose basic everyday needs might otherwise go unmet. The Give Back Tour is a big step in that direction," Egypt added.

Listeners are encouraged to donate new or clean, barely worn coat or unwrapped toys for all ages. Please be advised that financial donations will be accepted as well.

Good stuff!!

Two More Black Actors Out Of A Job: TNT’s Top Lady Cop Calls It Quits

Posted: 10 Dec 2010 04:07 PM PST

It seems like “The Closer” star Kyra Sedgwick has decided it’s time to do something else with her life. The TNT show’s 2011 season will be it’s last, according to reports.

Which means we can add Corey Reynolds and Robert Gossett to the list of unemployed Black actors.

Farewell, Brenda Leigh Johnson! According to TNT, their network-defining drama The Closer is closing down late in 2011. By the time the series wraps, after a 15-episode seventh season, the show will have produced 100-plus episodes of the Los Angeles-based crime procedural starring Kyra Sedgwick.

So why is the network shutting down a winning series that has long had some of the best ratings of any show on cable?

Per the network, “The difficult decision to conclude the series with season seven was made by Kyra Sedgwick.” Network and studio bosses then went on to praise the show’s winning formula and Sedgwick’s Emmy-winning portrayal of the hard-driving Southern belle. The head of Turner Networks, Steven Koonin says, “It’s impossible to fully express our appreciation to Kyra Sedgwick, series creator James Duff and all of the other talented people who brought The Closer to TNT viewers.”

Production on season seven begins in the spring, with the final episodes will no doubt air during the summer, when The Closer will likely be paired again with TNT’s other lady-cop drama, Rizzoli & Isles, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

Must be nice to be able to afford to just up and quit on folks, without thinking about your fans. Or the two brothers you’re putting out of a job. You know times are hard for Black actors! We would’ve never done you like that, Brenda Leigh!

Y’all see how she waited until after “over 100 episodes” though, right? You know what that means? Yup! Syndication and wild royalty paper. Kevin Bacon ain’t marry no fool.

Sextra: All Day I Dream About Sex … Is This Truer for Men or Women?

Posted: 10 Dec 2010 04:03 PM PST

Good day, Bossip readers and Happy Friday to you all! So, for the longest time, science says that men have sexual thoughts every seven seconds! Which means that they would think about sex almost 10,000 times a day which is about the same number of times your heart beats! To many of us, women in particular, that sounds ridiculous, and, moreover, impossible! How can the majority of one’s thoughts be consumed with sex? Seriously, we can all say that we’ve all caught ourselves randomly drifting off into the depths of our freakish desires but every seven seconds seems like a lot, right? And that’s just the ratio for men! Meanwhile new ‘studies’ indicate that women think about sex just as much as men … if not more! Which means that women think about sex more than 10,000 times a day and it trumps the number of her heartbeats? No way! Again, it seems impossible but it’s definitely a topic that deserves a little healthy exploration! So, we took to the streets and asks a few folks who they think thinks more about sex through out the course of a day! Please take a look and discuss!

On certain days, I’m hornier than others. But I do think about it a lot even when I’m not horny. It could be anything that gets me thinking about it. If I see a fine man, I automatically wonder if he’s packing and if he’s good in bed. My Fed-Ex delivery guy is sexy as hell and muscle bound in all the right places. I always think about how easily is goes down in porns and wish it were that way when I see him. But I still believe men think about it more than we do, seriously … it’s in a man’s nature. They see a set of boobs and they’re horny. They see a donk switching, their minds goes to sex, it’s automatic! I think I just contradicted myself but you won’t convince me that we think about sex more than women do. - Karynn, 31

Honestly, if men think about sex every 5.8 seconds, I think they say, then women never stop. There is no off button for sex when it comes to women, they’re just more deceitful with it. Woman are very sexual beings – not just sexual … they’re sensual. What they buy and what they wear is for what? To feel sexy! They work out but why? So they can look and feel sexy. Women are far more sexual than men and they always think about sex. And every woman has a vibrator, tell me I’m lying. - Malik, 3?

Mmm, I say women. For a long time I thought it was men but I talk to my grandmother on the regular basis and the older I get the more loose she’s become with her words. She’s been a widow for about 25 years now and she’s always talking about sex! If I take her out to eat and we have like a male waiter or bartender, she’s saying all kinds of inappropriate things about men and how she has cobwebs in her area. I don’t really like to hear her talk like that because she’s in her 80′s but I’ve come to realize, she’s still a woman with sexual desires and hers are stronger than my own. Yuck … Nana? - Aaron, 29

Girl, I could talk about this all day! Honestly, I think it’s neck and neck. I think there’s certain things that trigger thoughts of sex for a woman just like a man. Ours might be a little different in nature but I think we all feel the same kind of urges when we see certain things or when we see feel or smell certain things, so, I don’t think men really think about sex anymore than women do. - Jacki, 33

I say women. My wife has a certain look that she gives me and I know she wants it when I get that look. We’ve been married for five years now and I’m just now learning that there are different variations of that look and if I had known sooner, I would’ve known that she was ready a whole lot more than I could even imagine. I have to go with the women on this because they’re the ones that trigger the thoughts in us to begin with so … what comes first? The chicken or the egg? I would say that women do think about sex more than we do, hands down. - Steven, 36

Which one is it? Men or women … what are your thoughts, Bossip fam? Please share them below!

Jesus Take The Wheel: 6-Year-Old Dies After Jumping Off A Moving School Bus

Posted: 10 Dec 2010 03:54 PM PST

This is so sad on so many levels.

The 6-year-old boy who jumped from the back of a moving school bus in Baltimore County has died of his injuries.

The mother of Jeremy Jennings says he was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m. today at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Jennings was critically hurt after jumping from a bus leaving The Villa Maria School St. Vincent, a special-education school in Timonium.

Police say he attempted to exit the front of the bus after a school aide intervened in a fight between him and another child.

Jennings then ran to the back of the bus, opened the emergency exit and jumped out.

Rest in Peace little one.
