Disney's Tangled finally toppled the boy wizard that is Harry Potter this weekend, coming into the #1 spot with $21.5 million at the box office. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 settled with second place, bringing in another $16.8 million, bringing the cumulative total to $244.2 million. Wowsa!! Burlesque and Unstoppable tied for third place with $6.1 million each. Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway's Love and Other Drugs brought in $5.7 million in fifth place. Meanwhile, art house film Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, brought in an impressive $77,459 in only 18 theater locations, making it Fox Searchlight's biggest opener ever. Plus, it's already getting Oscar buzz! Seems like they have a hit on their hands! What did U see this weekend? |

Yes!!! Robert Downey, Jr. has reportedly signed onto a new comedy musical for the big screen! Developed by the writers of the Broadway hit Next to Normal, the project is currently untitled, but is said to be about a pair of Broadway songwriters who take jobs at a theater camp after their musical flops. Talk about bad family blood!! Not only was Dane Cook's half brother sentenced to five to six years in prison after he embezzled millions from the comedian, but now the Massachusetts attorney general's office has ordered his half brother to pay $12 million in restitution. Darryl and Erika McCauley pleaded guilty to stealing from Cook and was sentenced to prison back in October. A spokesman for the attorney general says that the court will tally the couple's assets, including a home in York Beach, Maine, and hotel and restaurant investments. Sheesh. | Another Actor Injured On The Set Of Spider-Man Musical Posted: 05 Dec 2010 08:20 AM PST
This is getting out of control!! With several delays and numerous technical difficulties including other actors getting injured in the show's dangerous stunts, reports are coming out now that yet another actor was injured during the Spider-Man musical's first preview last Sunday. Natalie Mendoza, who plays villainess Arachne, was struck by a rope that was holding a piece of equipment offstage and suffered a concussion. She didn't immediately report the injury to the producers or the actors' union, and even performed in the next night's performance against doctor's orders. However, after a few days, she fell ill on Thursday and her understudy stepped in and took her place. Responding to why Mendoza continued to perform after being injured, the musical's spokesperson said, "It was her choice, she insisted on doing it." The New York State Dept. of Labor confirmed on Friday that it was investigating the accident, and a rep for the agency said:
Seems like MAJOR changes need to happen for this production to continue! This is the THIRD injury on set! Actors, beware! |

In today's Z-list news, former child star Danny Bonaduce has married his manager girlfriend, Amy Railsback. Danny proposed to his girlfriend, who's aged 28 and 23 years his junior, six months after finalizing his divorce from his wife of 16 years, Gretchen.
