Guess Which ‘Glee’ Character Is Joining The Football Team

The cast of Glee were snapped filming new scenes for an upcoming episode of the show and it was spoilerishly revealed that the William McKinley High School football team is going to get a new member!


So as not to spoil the surprise for those of you who like to have your surprises unspoiled, I’ll keep the reveal behind the cut. I will hint that the new footballer is a member of the New Directions glee club. Can you guess who it is? Find out if you’re right, after the jump …

Glee fans are more used to seeing her wearing a frumpy cardigan, checked skirt and unflattering knee socks. So at first glance, it’s a little difficult to recognise Lea Michele dressed up in a bulky American football shirt while filming a new episode of the show. The actress, who plays Rachel Berry in the hit TV series, wore her hair in braids, with her face painted with two black streaks. Despite her more unusual attire, Lea looked happy and relaxed as she strolled alongside co-star Cory Monteith, who plays her on-off love interest Finn on the show. Earlier this month, Lea had discussed the episode, which is said to air next year following the Superbowl. ‘It’s a lot of football stuff. You may or may not see me in a football uniform. That I will say,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. It was unclear if Rachel will actually be joining the McKinley High football team, or if her appearance was just part of an extravagant musical number. Other Glee characters Kurt and Blaine were spotted in the bleachers cheering her on, while co-stars Chord Overstreet and Mark Salling were also on the football field. Glee is now on hiatus in the U.S., with the next episode not airing until February 2011.

It makes sense that there will be a bit of football featured on Glee, especially since they are working on a special Super Bowl episode … but I would’ve never guessed it was Rachel Berry (played by Lea Michele) who would be joining the team … I can’t wait to find out how all of that comes about. Not only is Rachel a member of almost every club in high school but she can now add the football team to her list of extracurricular activities? To be honest, I’d expect nothing less.

Red Wingin’ It

Despite the fact that It’s So Cold in the D, I managed to get out of the house yesterday to have a bit of fun around town. Sarah, Mark and I made our way downtown to Joe Louis Arena to watch the Detroit Red Wings take on the Montreal Canadiens. But, before we got to Joe Louis Arena, we took a quick tour around Detroit on the famed People Mover … and I got to use my new Michigan Mittens:


Then it was time for the hockey game! After the jump, check out some of the fun photos that I snapped last night …


I am happy to report that the Red Wings beat The Habs by a score of 4-2 but it was a great game overall. I am always so impressed by Canadian hockey fans … they never get nasty and always act classy both in victory and defeat. I miss going to hockey games here in Detroit, we had so much fun last night. Oh, and don’tcha love my Red Wings Santa hat? Dope, right?

Afterward, Sarah and Mark retired for the night and I met up with my boy Sergio so that we could go to my old haunt City Club:


I will always love City Club … but the place is a mere shadow of its formers self. We stayed until 3AM and the place was very sparsely populated … when back in my hey day, it’d be packed wall to wall. Still, we had a lot of fun … City Club will always be home to me.

I’m thinkin’ we’re going out to Royal Oak tonight … keepin’ it simple and fun.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Jr. Cheers On His Daddy From The Soccer Stands

Back in October we got our first real good look at Cristiano Ronaldo‘s newborn son Cristiano Ronaldo, Jr. as he was being carried by his grandmother (tho, for all intents and purposes his mother) Dolores Aviero. Today we get to see the little tyke in the arms of grandma’s boyfriend José Andrade as he cheers on his daddy Crissy as he played soccer for his team Real Madrid. In salute to his son, Cristiano threw up a hand in the air and then sucked the thumb of the other hand after he scored a goal in the game:

It’s not exactly the most conventional reaction after scoring a goal. But footballer Cristiano Ronaldo went a little gaga on the pitch after hitting the back of the net – by sucking his thumb as his young son watched on. The Real Madrid star saluted his pride and joy with the gesture during his team’s match against AJ Auxerre on Wednesday. Six-month-old Cristiano Ronaldo Junior was being held by Jose Andrade, the boyfriend of Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro. And it appeared the Portuguese sportsman’s good luck charm paid off, as his team went on to defeat AJ Auxerre 4-0 during the Champions League game. Ronaldo, who dates Russian model Irina Shayk, announced that he had become a father on Facebook and Twitter this summer. He shocked fans when he revealed he had become a father to Cristiano Ronaldo Jnr on June 17 to an un-named American mother. He said he was in ‘full custody’ of the baby, which is being cared for by his mother Dolores, 55, and sisters Katia, 33, and Elma, 35.

I’m still not used to the idea of Cristiano Ronaldo, a man child himself, being the father of a baby but it looks like Cristiano, Jr. is in very good hands … with his grandmother and her boyfriend. So … wanna see what the little dude looks like these days? Check him out, after the jump …


He’s a cute little chubbykins, ain’t he? I guess now that he knows his baby boy is a great good luck charm, we can expect to see Junior cheering on his dad at future Real Madrid soccer games.

Lindsay Lohan Gets Charmed & Dangerous For Marc Ecko

Back in August we learned that Lindsay Lohan was chosen by fashion designer Marc Ecko to be his digital muse for his new Cut & Sew by Marc Ecko line. Today we learn that Marc and Lindsay have teamed up again for a new promo campaign. You the consumer will have the opportunity to cut and sew Lindsay Lohan in a new promo video for the Marc Ecko line:


The way I understand it, folks can download a video of Lindsay Lohan and then edit the video however they see fit so that they can upload the video to the site for sharing. If you’ve ever wanted to direct a short film with Lindsay Lohan in it, HERE’S your chance! After the jump, check out the video of L. Lo that is being made available for this promotion …


As you can see, this video was filmed ages ago … back when Lindsay was blonde and presumably crazier. It’s weird to see the “old” Lindsay after seeing fresh photos of the “new” Lindsay. I’m not sure if this campaign will actually do much for the Marc Ecko line but … I suppose it’s worth a try. Will you be cutting and sewing Lindsay for this campaign?

David Beckham Does Some Xmas Shopping

Spoiler alert … if you are expecting an Xmas gift from David Beckham this year, chances are he bought your gift at Ralph Lauren in Beverly Hills, CA. Becks was spotted making his way out of RL yesterday with a nice collection of big blue bags full of gifts that he will presumably be giving out for Xmas:


With only about 2 more weeks until Xmas, it makes sense that Becks would start doing his serious holiday shopping. Have YOU started your Xmas shopping yet?

‘Thor’ Officially Releases A Movie Trailer

Back in July an almost 6-minute long teaser trailer for the Marvel Comics film Thor was leaked to the Internets, straight from 2010 San Diego Comic Con. Today, we get our first look at the official release of the first Thor movie trailer … which features many scenes from the leaked trailer and is 2 1/2 minutes shorter:


The clip is still very cool and I really loved it … when I saw it 5 months ago. But, for those of you who missed seeing it when it was released back in July, you can check out the shorter yet official Thor teaser trailer, after the jump …


I do love the clip but much like the recycled image used in the first Thor teaser poster which was released earlier this week, I feel kinda cheated … since I’ve already seen it all before. Still, I am very much looking forward to the film’s release in May. Thor cometh, and I can’t waiteth.

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Take Care Of Last-Minute Wedding Errands

Earlier this week we read a report about rumored plans for Nicole Richie and Joel Madden‘s wedding, which is said to be taking place today, and today we get to see a couple photos of Nic/Joel running around SoCal individually taking care of a few last-minute wedding deets:


I’m quite certain the big, important stuff was being handled by professional wedding planners and their lackeys but I’m also certain that there are a few personal things that Nicole and Joel want to handle themselves. It’s unclear when today exactly the couple will say their I Dos but it won’t be long now. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden will very soon become Mr. & Mrs.
