Billy Ray Cyrus Is ‘Sorry’ For Miley Cyrus’s Bong Smokin’ Video

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 11:44 AM PST

On Friday we got to see video of 18-year old Miley Cyrus smokin’ a bong full of something (reportedly a legal hallucinogenic herb called Salvia) and today we get to hear from Miley‘s father Billy Ray Cyrus on the controversy. As you may be well aware, Billy Ray and wife Tish Cyrus are currently divorcing … so in Billy Ray’s tweet message about the video, he implies that the fault for Miley‘s experimentation is not his because “there is so much beyond” his control. HMMM. Read on for the full text of Billy Ray‘s official comment on the Miley vid:

Sorry guys. I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. Im so sad. There is much beyond my control right now.

While Billy Ray isn’t outright blaming Tish for Miley‘s indiscretion, the subtext is pretty clear. To be honest, I highly doubt that Miley‘s decision to experiment with … stuff … has anything at all to do with Billy Ray‘s control. The girl is a millionaire, she’s gonna do whatever the Hell she wants irregardless of what her parents have to say about anything. That being said, divorce can be really hard on kids … and 18 or not, Miley is still a kid. She may be acting out in an effort to win attention from her parents. Whatever the case may be, here’s hoping both Billy Ray and Tish can be there to parent their child … well, as best they can.

The Royal Treatment

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 11:27 AM PST

Yesterday was another fun day here in Detroit … Mark and I went out for one of our regular sushi dates at Little Tree in Royal Oak, MI after we did a bit of shopping on Main St. I’m telling you, I’ve seen my fair share of fantastic shopping in my day but Incognito on Main St. in Royal Oak is still one of my fave shops anywhere. I always find something great there. Mark and I got a pair of great Made In Detroit t-shirts and other fun stuff:

Then we ate our faces off. So much fun. After dinner, Mark went out to hang out with one of his friends and Sarah and I hung out for the rest of the night. Of course, we ended up just being lazy and chillin’ in her room for the rest of the night. We ended up watching White Christmas ’til 2 in the morning. Yeah, we party hardcore.

A dreaded snowstorm has rolled into town today … it’s snowing like crazy right now … big, fat, snowflakes. I’ve decided to stay one more night to avoid all the craziness at the airport and will, instead, fly back to LA tomorrow. Today, I’m planning to hang out with Tracey and Zakiya and then tonight I’m meeting up with Sergio for a party. Happy Sunday! I hope it’s warm and sunny were YOU are today ;)

Hot Dude Of The Week: Jason T.

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 10:41 AM PST

It is time, once again, to say hello to the Hot Dude of the Week! Today’s specimen of manliness was photographed by Wander Aguiar … say hello to Jason:

It’s easy to fall under the spell of Jason‘s relaxed posture in this photo … he looks about as laid back as they come, literally. Altho the temps may be a bit chilly in various parts of the country these days, this photo of Jason reminds us that the lazy and much warmer days are never too far away. Enjoy!!

Christina Aguilera & Matt Rutler Make Their Way To London

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 10:08 AM PST

Last week Christina Aguilera and her new boyfriend Matthew Rutler made their way to Japan and then earlier this week, amid the Internet leaking of Xtina‘s racy personal photos, the couple passed thru Spain on the Burlesque promo tour. Today we learn that Xtina and Matt traveled on to London, England so that she could perform on the UK competitive reality TV series The X Factor. Here are a couple photos of the pair as they made their way out of their London hotel this weekend:

It would certainly appear that Xtina and Matt are enjoying their world tour together. But, this visit to London is work for Ms. Xtina … she was one of the big performers on this weekend’s finale episode of The X Factor. After the jump, check out photos and video from Xtina‘s appearance/performance on The X Factor

It’s one of the biggest TV events of the year, watched by around a third of the British population. But as the X Factor final kicked off last night, the talent show was accused of straying somewhat from its family viewing credentials as Christina Aguilera and Rihanna put on two extremely provocative pre-watershed performances. Aguilera wore an extremely low-cut black dress as she cavorted with an army of lingerie-clad dancers while Rihanna thrust her way through her solo performance in pants and strapless bra. The superstars jetted in … to appear on the show, with Aguilera duetting with Rebecca Ferguson and Rihanna supporting Matt Cardle. But it was as they took to the stage for their second respective performances of the night – before the 9pm watershed – that they raised eyebrows, leading to Twitter and internet forums being flooded with comments from outraged viewers. Christina’s rendition of Express from her new film Burlesque caused the most upset, with viewer left shocked as she did the bump and grind with her female dancers. ‘Is it me, or is anyone else shocked at the raunchy performance from Christina Aguilera, being shown before the watershed?’ tweeted Sallywoodings‎. LottieLovesEwe‎ was similarly taken aback:’Rihanna not so bad but Christina’s was just wrong for 8.30 TV!! seriously inappropriate.’ Predicting scores of complaints another Twitter user, WhatsAboutTown, posted the message: ‘OMG Christina Aguilera shocking……….how many complaints will ITV get about #xfactor tonight’ … On popular online TV forum Digital Spy, there was a lot of unease about the explicit nature of the performances on a family show. Georgiecats said: ‘It isn’t suitable before 9pm when small children watch this show. I’m no prude but it’s too early in the evening for that type of slutty performance.’ Smartie33 agreed, saying: ‘Christina and Rhianna – it’s just disgusting. It’s meant to be a family show.’

Oh my … these performances sure seems to have sparked the ire of a few viewers … which, I’m sure, the producers of The X Factor are wholly pleased about. Controversy sells and the fact that so many people are buzzing about the performances, both good and bad, is a boon for the popular reality TV series. Here is video of Xtina‘s performance of Express for you to be entertained/offended by:

I don’t, personally, see what all the hubbub is about but … there you have it. What do y’all think of Xtina‘s performance? Are you impressed?

The Wonder Woman TV Series Is Not Yet Certain

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 09:34 AM PST

Back in October we learned the exciting (and somewhat worrisome) news that Warner Bros. is planning to make an all-new Wonder Woman TV series but today we learn from producer David E. Kelley (who is interested in helming the new series) that there is no deal yet in place to bring Wonder Woman back to the small screen. But, despite the fact that nothing has been officially determined, he is still very much interested in running the show:

We may have to wait a while for the return of Wonder Woman to live-action television. That's because writer-producer David E. Kelley, who was reported in October to be adapting the superhero project, hasn't "necessarily committed" to the series. "There's no real deal in place yet, but yeah, my intent is to take a stab at it," Kelley, creator of Chicago Hope, The Practice and Ally McBeal, told Zap2it. "I've been working on it between scripts for Harry's Law. It's a very, very different genre for me, a very tricky beast. I won't know whether I've cracked it or not until I've finished it, but it's going." Needless to say, it's far too early to speculate who might be cast as the Amazon Princess, last played on live-action TV three decades ago by Lynda Carter. "At the beginning, there was a little bit of that," Kelley said, "but we quickly made it known that was premature. I haven't necessarily committed to doing it yet. I'm at the point where I'm trying to figure out if I can make the franchise work for me. [...] If I can't, I don't want to delude Warner Bros. or anybody else that I should be doing it." That probably won't fill Wonder Woman fans with much confidence. But neither will Kelley's acknowledgment that he won't know whether the project is "a fertile and creative place where I want to live" until he actually begins writing — which probably won't be for a while.

HMMM … well, mebbe this is all for the best. As I said before, I’m excited by the prospect of Wonder Woman making her return to TV but the show has to be done right. I trust David E. Kelley would be a great person to run the show but if he’s not quite ready to get to work on the show, I’m happy to wait until the time is right. The original Wonder Woman series from the late 70′s is so epic, I would hate for a new show rushed to production to ruin WW‘s reputation. I’m willing to wait so long as they take their time and do right by Wonder Woman.

‘Tron: Legacy’ Premieres In Hollywood

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 08:26 AM PST

Tron: Legacy, the long-awaited sequel to the 1982 film Tron, won’t open in theaters until this coming Friday but last night Hollywood Blvd. was transformed into the digital world of Tron for the World Premiere of the film at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, CA. Stars Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde were joined by a host of guests — including music maestros Daft Punk — at last night’s premiere event for the film. As I blogged last week, I loved the film but read on to find out what IGN thinks of Tron: Legacy:

After almost 30 years, Disney has made the bold move to continue the story of Tron rather than reboot the original film. Yes, they’re claiming that Tron: Legacy is a film that new eyes, who’ve never seen the clunky-yet-pioneering original film, can latch onto, but I honestly can’t imagine seeing this new film without some sort of context. Sure, we’re all overly familiar with the idea of a virtual world, but the Tron world needs a little more explanation than that and I fear that some things might get lost in translation, but I suppose that’s not my job to worry about. What viewers will get, regardless of their relationship with the 1982 film, is a thrilling, moving 3D adventure that will leave you wanting more. Whereas 3D has quickly become a dirty, corporate word, Tron: Legacy’s use of the new technology to bring the audience directly into this very specific and unique world makes this movie a completely immersive experience. Jeff Bridges, who anchors the entire experience by playing both the hero and the villain of the piece, is predictably capable stepping back into the shoes of ENCOM CEO Kevin Flynn, a man who we learn has disappeared on the night he tells his young son Sam that he’s discovered a miracle within his new creation. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) eventually grows up into a stubborn underachiever who loves to make bold corporate espionage plays against the very company that he stands to inherit. Bruce Boxleitner (the OG Tron) returns as the now-weary Alan Bradley, a man who’s always remained at Sam’s defiant side in an almost apologetic manner due to Sam’s abandonment. From here, the story kicks off the basic “hero’s quest” as Sam enters the digital world of The Grid that his father created and discovers that Kevin’s been trapped inside his own creation, by his own jealous in-world avatar CLU, for decades … But even though we’re being presented with a surprisingly effective “passing the torch” family saga, there’s simply no escaping the breadth of this new Tron world. Tron: Legacy almost delivers double the dividends considering the fact that the original film was disqualified from Oscar special effects consideration because using computer technology to enhance you movie was considered cheating back then. The new Tron world that director Joseph Kosinski has delivered, which is still mostly filled with negative space, is a frightfully hypnotic … The character of CLU, which Bridges himself plays with the aid of motion capture technology and a body double, is an ingenious touch, but the effects just aren’t quite there yet to fully justify the idea. I was a little more forgiving of the dead eyes and the overly reflective cheek bones when I was actually watching CLU than when I was watching the younger Kevin Flynn in flashbacks and news reels. Since CLU is artificial and represents the exciting new-age technology that inadvertently comes between human beings, I didn’t mind the artifice, but this new mo-cap face tech, no matter how revolutionary, just didn’t work when it had to portray real people … First time feature director Kosinski delivers thrills and a touch of heartache inside a very impressive palate of colors and noise. And I’m not afraid to admit that, as completely muddled and incomprehensible as modern action sequences have become, I enjoyed the fact that our heroes and villains were color-coded.

You can read the full text of this IGN review HERE. I posted excerpts because they convey pretty exactly my opinion of the film. It’s deffo a movie you MUST see on the big screen and in 3D. To be honest, I can’t wait for the film to open this weekend because I want to see it again in IMAX. I’m so anxious for all y’all to see it because I’m dying to hear what other people think of it. David and I have discussed the movie at length, I’m ready to hear other opinions. It won’t be long now … altho we’ve had to wait 28 years, Tron 2 is almost here.

Prince William & Kate Middleton Release Their Official Engagement Photos

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 08:00 AM PST

Last week we learned that Prince William of Wales and his fiancée Kate Middleton posed for famed photographer Mario Testino for the couple’s official engagement photograph. Today, we learn that the couple actually posed for 2 official photos and we get to see them both. First up, Wills and Kate lookin’ fairly formal in photo #1:

The upcoming nuptials of Prince William and his fiancee, Kate Middleton, became even more official Saturday, with the release of a pair of engagement photographs. The pictures, sent by Prince William’s press office and distributed by the Press Association, came out several months ahead of the April 29, 2011, wedding at London’s Westminster Abbey … Photographer Mario Testino took the engagement pictures, among others, on November 25 at St. James’ Palace in London. “They are in their prime and brimming with happiness,” Testino said. “I have never felt so much joy as when I see them together.”

Awww … they look lovely, don’t they? Next up, we get to check out the more informal, more affectionate photo #2 — after the jump …

This one is my fave of the two. They look so happy, so in love and so well-suited for one another. I was really hoping we’d get to see these official engagement photos sooner rather than later … but I wasn’t expecting to see them quite so soon. I am so excited for this Royal Wedding, I can’t even tell you!

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Got Hitched!

Posted: 12 Dec 2010 07:42 AM PST

Congratulations are in order for longtime couple Nicole Richie and Joel Madden because the pair got themselves HITCHED last night! As we learned earlier in the week, Nic/Joel planned to get married in a lavish ceremony at Nicole‘s parents home in Beverly Hills, CA and yesterday was the big day. Joel and Nicole are officially Mr. and Mrs. now ;D

She’s a blushing bride no more. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden became a married couple Saturday night in Beverly Hills, RadarOnline.com has confirmed. With dad Lionel Richie – her rock of support – and friends including Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Kris Jenner and Samantha Ronson in attendance, Nicole was a stunningly beautiful bride as she took Joel’s hand in marriage. Music legend Quincy Jones, her dad’s good friend and Nicole’s godfather, arrived just before she walked down the aisle. Other guests were brought in by shuttle van from the nearby Beverly Hills Hotel … an elephant named Tai was part of the celebration and hundreds of red roses supplied by florist to the stars Mark’s Garden, decorated the tables … Joel’s Good Charlotte twin brother Benji, was reportedly the best man. Nicole and Joel’s children Harlow and Sparrow were also part of the celebration.

Yay!! At last … at looooong last :) Nic/Joel have been happily attached for years and two children … and now they are officially man and wife. I couldn’t be more thrilled for the both of them. They truly are among the most loving couples in Hollywood and they are each so deserving of the other. They have been one of my fave Hollywood couples for years now … it’s just really fantastic to hear of their continued happiness together. Altho no photos from the actual wedding ceremony have been made available just yet, you can check out a couple aerial shots of the Richie Mansion that were snapped as the couple said their I Dos, after the jump …

I understand that the couple sold the official photos to the wedding ceremony itself to a publication and will donate the money to charity (my guess is that the money will go to the couple’s Richie-Madden Children's Foundation). I cannot WAIT to see Nicole‘s wedding dress … and to see the Madden brothers all dolled up in their finery … and the babies in their little outfits!!! I hope you’ll join me in sending all our love and congrats to Nicole and Joel today! Woot!!!
