| Cate Blanchett Joins 'The Hobbit' Cast! Posted: 07 Dec 2010 07:20 PM PST  Cate Blanchett will reprise her role of Galadriel from The Lord of the Rings trilogy in the upcoming adaptation of the trilogy’s prequel, The Hobbit. The film will be split into two parts that will be filmed back-to-back starting this February, according to Variety. Director Peter Jackson commented on Cate’s casting, saying “[she] is one of my favorite actors to work with and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her reprise the role she so beautifully brought to life in the earlier films.” WHAT DO YOU THINK about Cate Blanchett reprising her role? |

| Elizabeth Edwards Dies of Cancer at 61 Posted: 07 Dec 2010 03:20 PM PST  Elizabeth Edwards, the estranged wife of 2004 vice presidential candidate John Edwards, has lost her battle with cancer at the age of 61. Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2004, shortly after her husband lost the bid for vice presidency. She passed away in her home today (December 7) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina surrounded by her family. In a statement, her family said “Today we have lost the comfort of Elizabeth’s presence but she remains the heart of this family. We love her and will never know anyone more inspiring or full of life.” Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Edwards family. |
