Well, here’s one thing Prince William can cross off his wedding to-do list. Thanks to Snoop Dogg, the royal groom-to-be is set on at least a partial playlist for his bachelor party (known in the U.K. as a “stag party”). On Tuesday, the rapper released “Wet,” a single intended specifically for the Prince’s bash. The song, available on the rapper’s Web site is described in a press release as “an anthem” for the royal stag party, “and all bachelor parties around the world to follow.” “When I heard the royal family wanted to have me perform in celebration of Prince William’s marriage, I knew I had to give them a little something,” Snoop Dogg says in the release (though there is no official word on the validity of his requested performance). “‘Wet’ is the perfect anthem for Prince William or any playa to get the club smokin’.” ‘Wet’ is the second single off the rapper’s upcoming album, Doggumentary Music, which drops in March.
Whether or not Snoop actually wrote the song for William‘s bachelor party, the song is pretty slick … you know, in a wet sense. Fancy a listen? Check it out in full, after the jump …
You can click HERE to download a FREE MP3 of Wet. Snoop Dogg wants you to make a video of yourself dancing to the song and then enter it in a contest for a free, all expenses paid trip to the UK! Click HERE for the contest deets and make those videos, y’all. You may not get to dance to this song with Prince William but you might win a free trip to his hood ;)
Actress Reese Witherspoon was joined by her children Ava Elizabeth and Deacon Reese as well as her boyfriend Jim Toth at the unveiling of her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Reese was awarded the 2,425th star in a ceremony that took place here in Hollywood, CA earlier today … here are a few photos:
Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon will receive the 2,425th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Wednesday. James L. Brooks, who directed and wrote the script for Witherspoon's new film, "How Do You Know," will join her at the ceremony, which is set to begin at 11 a.m. in front of the W Hollywood Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. Born March 22, 1976, in New Orleans and raised in Nashville, Tenn., Witherspoon won the 2005 best actress Academy Award for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in "Walk the Line." She also won Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for the performance. Witherspoon began her career in 1990, after attending an open casting call for "The Man in the Moon." She ended up being cast in the lead role of Dani Trant, a 14-year-old country girl who falls in love with her 17-year-old neighbor. Witherspoon's other film credits include: "Legally Blonde," "Election," "Vanity Fair," "Pleasantville," "Cruel Intentions" "Sweet Home Alabama," "Just Like Heaven," "Rendition," "Penelope," "Freeway," "Twilight" and "Four Christmases."
Aww … how cute does Reese‘s little family look! Ava looks beautiful with her hair done up in curls and Deacon is very handsome in his little suit. I love that Reese‘s man Jim was also in attendance on her big day today. Much love and congrats goes out to Reese on this latest accomplishment. I deffo count Reese Witherspoon in the group of celebs who is worthy of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and I applaud and salute her today! Congrats!!
Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and others were on hand in at the Ziegfeld Theatre in NYC last night for the premiere of their new film Black Swan (which opens in select cities this Friday December 3). Here are a few photos from the red carpet arrivals:
On Monday we got to see a creepy new music video for Black Swan which got me really, really excited to see the film. I can’t say that I’m really feelin’ many of the red carpet looks that we got going on here (was there a dress code? was everyone but Mila required to wear black?) but I think Mila Kunis was the best dressed of the night. LA will get Black Swan on opening day this Friday and I’m hoping that I’ll get to see it this weekend.
I have to say … it’s a bit disconcerting to see the Muppets looking so … immobile. I mean, we all know that the Muppets aren’t alive … that they are just puppets but still … seeing them be manhandled is … bothersome. I’m not sure what I’m more disturbed by … the elongated sock body that Kermit the Frog has or the way that Gonzo is being carried around by his neck. I can’t say I’m all that surprised by the Miss Piggy photo, after all, if she were alive I’m certain she’d insist on being carried around like the Diva she is. I’m just glad I never saw photos like this when I was a kid … this sight of the Muppets would’ve ruined my childhood.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Christina Aguilera has opened up to People magazine about her new relationship with Matthew Rutler. In quotes attributed to Xtina, she confirms that the couple are romantically involved. What is curious is that this interview is nowhere to be seen (yet) on People‘s official website … but The Daily Mail has a lot of direct quotes that they claim come straight from Xtina herself. Read on to hear what Xtina reportedly has to say about the new man in her life:
Christina Aguilera has given her first interview about her new boyfriend Matthew Rutler, saying: ‘There’s a love there.’ The singer, who filed for divorce from husband Jordan Bratman just six weeks ago, blames her new film Burlesque for driving them apart. She also admits becoming close to Rutler on the film’s set, although she insists they didn’t begin dating until after she filed for divorce. ‘Matthew is a special person,’ she told People magazine of the set assistant. ‘We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He’s the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it’s daylight. Once I filed for divorce, we started dating. I’m not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I’m taking it slow and trying to be happy.’ The two have made no secret of their romance, enjoying several romantic dates, with Rutler even giving Christina a rose. ‘There’s a love there, yes. I’m having fun, I’m dating and it’s something I haven’t had in a really long time.’ Christina also addressed her break-up from record producer Bractman, the father of her two-and-a-half year-old son Max. She said their marriage started off well. ‘We were great the first year after Max was born. Jordan was amazing. He was the first to change Max’s diaper. Then thing s turned. I was nurturing Max and felt independent in the relationship.’ But then she landed the role on Burlesque. ‘I went right into filming Burlesque [in Autumn last year]. As a musician you’re with your posse all the time, and during the movie I removed myself from mine. So I had an independence I’d never felt before. I was growing leaps and bounds daily. I went from being a girl to a woman. When I finished filming, I didn’t feel right in my own shoes [a home]. I had a lot of things stirring inside of me that I felt were being suppressed. We tried to work on the marriage and figure out a common ground, but the problems were obvious.’
Wow … now that is quite a declaration. But, c’mon … doesn’t this all seem terribly rushed, terribly too media friendly? Not only has Xtina gotten herself into a new romantic relationship (seemingly hours after she filed for divorce from her husband of about 5 years) but she’s already talking about it very publicly just weeks into the relationship? As I’ve mentioned before, I’m hearing from very reliable sources that Xtina‘s relationship with Matt is not as genuine as she is outlining in this new interview. From what I understand, neither Matthew nor Jordan are Xtina‘s type. My guess is that this whatever the Hell is going on is merely for PR purposes. I’m having a real hard time taking Xtina at face value when it comes to this new “love interest”. Nothing about it feels right. But, I must confess, I have no concrete reason to discount what she is saying. I don’t know with absolute certainty that she is not being honest in this interview so … I suppose it’s up to the individual to believe what she is saying.
So … do you believe that Xtina is already madly in love with this new guy already? Does this sound like true love to you?

International pop superstar Kylie Minogue was among the featured performers on the NBC special Christmas In Rockefeller Center which aired live last night and she brightened up the whole event by performing not one but two fun Xmas songs. The NBC special was focused around the lighting of the Xmas treet in Rockefeller Center but for me, the real draw was Kylie‘s two musical performances:
New York’s Rockefeller Center looked like a true winter wonderland, and pop star Kylie Mingoue fitted right in with her snow queen inspired outfit. The singer was among a host of stars who turned out for the annual lighting of the Christmas Christmas tree in the Big Apple. Mariah Carey, Jessica Simpson, Sheryl Crow, Katherine Jenkins, and Susan Boyle all performed at the event … This year’s tree, which is about 75 years old, came from the yard of Peter Acton, a New York City firefighter and September 11th first responder. ‘Over the years, people would say to us that the tree belonged at Rockefeller Center, but we never really paid much attention,’ said Acton, who lives in Mahopac, New York, about 50 miles north of New York City. ‘Even now, my wife is disbelieving that our tree is really going to be this year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.’ Acton was one of the firefighters first dispatched to downtown Manhattan on the morning two hijacked jets struck the World Trade Center. The tree will remain lit from 5.30am to 11.30pm, through early January. It will stay lit for 24 hours on Christmas Day. Thousands of people traditionally attend the annual tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan, where police issued a gridlock alert, and millions of other people watch the event on NBC television.
What a great choice for an Xmas tree this year. And what a great selection of performers … but, as I said, the real draw for me was Miss Kylie Minogue. After the jump, check out video of Kylie‘s performances of Santa Baby and Let it Snow …
Kylie‘s version of Let It Snow will be available for purchase next Tuesday December 7. If you’re really lookin’ to make the yuletide gay, then you’ll need this song in your Xmas playlist :) I think Kylie did a fantastic job last night … who knows, mebbe the US will finally fall in love with her like the rest of the world already has. Woot!
Who better to interview the nation's most desired man than its funniest? Wil Anderson catches up with GQ Man of the Year Ryan Kwanten for a few beers (some drunk, one spilt) and Probes the brilliant mind behind the stunning pecs. For the past few years Kwanten's been burning up the small screen as the hilarious Jason Stackhouse in True Blood, and in his spare time over the last year he's managed to squeeze in three films – Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, Griff the Invisible, and Red Hill. And there's plenty more to come. Kwanten shares everything with GQ from growing up in Sydney's Northern Beaches, to breaking into Hollywood and his dislike of sleep. Despite his success Kwanten remains down-to-earth and is still excited by living and working in Hollywood – "Every time I drive down Santa Monica Boulevard, every time I see the Hollywood sign, I've been here eight years now and I still have that twinkle."
Aww … you gotta love how much lurve Ryan‘s home country has been giving him lately. It’s always nice when a local boy makes good, it’s very clear that Australia is very proud of their Man of the Year. After the jump, check out one more photo from Ryan‘s Aussie GQ magazine photospread …
Yes, I’m sure some of y’all are very disappointed to see that Ryan is fully dressed in this photo but, hey, being honored as Man of the Year is a classy thing. Congrats to Mr. Kwanten on this new accomplishment … and here’s hoping his next magazine photospread features much less clothing ;)
Now, judging by the clothing I’m assuming that the baby in these photos is Knox Léon … but we do know that Brangelina are very happy to let their children wear whatever clothing they like so it’s entirely possible that this twin is actually Vivienne Marcheline. In any event, Angelina took one of her baby twins to the aquarium today for a little date … which is just too cute for words. My guess is that daddy Braddy was off on a date of his own with the other twin. I wonder what Parisian fun those two got up to together.
Matt Workman a cinematic photographer has posted a little teaser on his website of working on Britney Spears next Radiance commercial. No shots of Britney herself, but Matt along with MTV worked on the commercial and I have to wonder why MTV was involved unless… its going to be tied into her new single that we are expecting any time now. Matt eluded on his site that he couldn't say much for a "few weeks" so that leads me to believe early December release date of the commercial – which could also mean the new single is but days away. The commercial (or music video type commercial – we hope) is directed by E.J. McLeavy Fisher not to mention its being produced by Jeremy Hammond– a music industry wizard. Hopefully the commercial will be tied around Britney's latest music or at least tidbits of it to bring us into the New Year!
After this blogpost was published on PoorBritney.com, the photo and all commentary was removed from Matt Workman‘s official website. It’s unclear if he was asked to take down the information or its deletion was a mistake but there is enough information here for Britney fans to get excited about. When Britney collaborates with MTV, it’s usually a big deal. My guess is that the Radiance commercial shoot is part of an MTV documentary of Britney‘s life these days, which includes the work she’s doing on her next album. Hopefully we’ll be hearing more about this commercial shoot and/or whatever it is she’s working on with MTV very soon. Who knows, mebbe we’ll be hearing new music news very soon as well? Wouldn’t that be an excellent Xmas present?
Margaret Cho, who competed this season on Dancing with the Stars, posted an entry on her official blog this week that claims that her fellow castmate Bristol Palin was forced to be on DWTS by her mother and ex-governor of Alaska Sarah Palin. Cho claims that she learned this information from a source “in the know” about Palin family matters and insists that Sarah Palin made Bristol compete on the show in an effort to make America “fall in love with her again” (presumably because America fell out of love with her after Bristol gave birth to a baby out of wedlock). Here are excerpts from Margaret Cho‘s DWTS blogpost:
Why did Bristol do Dancing with the Stars? I heard from someone who really should know (really should seriously know the dirt really really) that the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly (in the circles that I heard it from) for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she "owed" it to her to do DWTS so that "America would fall in love with her again" and make it possible for Sarah Palin to run in 2012 with America behind her all the way. Instead of being supposedly "handicapped" by the presence of her teen mom daughter, now Bristol is going to be an "asset" – a celebrity beloved for her dancing. I am sure the show wasn't in on this (but who knows anything really).
HMMM … interesting … and 100% plausible. I did occur to me that the best way for Sarah Palin to capitalize on the most popular competitive reality TV program on the air would be to have her daughter compete on the show that she would never be able to do herself. If Palin ever does make a run for the Presidency, she would not be able to do so if she had lowered herself to appearing on a dance competition TV series … but her daughter, that’s another story. I not only believe Margaret‘s assertion that Bristol was forced to do the show but it fortified the suspicions I already had.
So … what does Margaret Cho think about Bristol Palin personally? After the jump, find out …
Although I don't agree with the family's politics at all, I really like Bristol as a person. She's warm and incredibly supportive, and I think that she looks beautiful out on the dance floor. It's heartbreaking that people are so awful to her about her weight. I think she looks fantastic, and why does everybody think they have a right to comment on our bodies? What are young girls going to take away from that? If people call her fat what kind of impact does that have on women who have similar body types – which is most of us??!! Still, it is a dance competition, and so I am sure that people feel they have the right to judge bodies and not just ability. That's just wrong. Bristol is learning. She improved a lot, in my opinion. Her tango was fierce and really the best dance she did. You really do learn to dance in this competition! I am proud of her for shaking her ass! But keep in mind there are other forces at work here and it's not just for the love of dance.
Now I am scared I am going to wake up with a decapitated moose head in my bed.
What I love most about Margaret Cho, besides her insanely funny humor, is that she always tells it like it is. Just because she doesn’t agree with a person’s politics, she can still be honest about liking the individual as a person. I also absolutely believe her assertion about Bristol being forced to do DWTS for her mother’s gain. Will the Palins ever admit this as true? Never. Is there anyway to prove that this is true? No. Still … it’s not all that difficult to believe, not one bit. I think it’s brave of Margaret to share her beliefs on this matter … don’t you? What do YOU think about Margaret‘s blogpost?
Just when you thought all the coffee dating that Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift have been doing lately couldn’t get any worse … it goes and gets worse. The first photo of Jake and Taylor together on Thanksgiving has finally surfaced … on the cover of this week’s issue of US Weekly magazine. While the photos that we’ve seen HERE and HERE were snapped clandestinely, this new photo was taken full on face-front … behold:
The new Us Weekly (now on newsstands) has the first photos of Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal’s romantic Thanksgiving Day weekend. Arm in arm, the two looked more smitten than ever as they took an afternoon stroll in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood, where the actor’s sister, Maggie, lives. Dating for just five weeks, the romance is heating up, several insiders tell Us Weekly. "She loves his family and he loves hers,” says a Swift source. Adds another pal, "It's definitely serious." So, how did the unlikely romance come about? Find out and get more – including why their relationship works; their thoughts on the nine-year age gap and what their families think; how Swift is already “love-struck” and must-see exclusive photos – in new Us Weekly today!
Now … I think it’s pretty clear that I am not a fan of this Jake and Taylor pairing so, naturally, my commentary about the two of them together will prolly never be favorable. But I have to point out the curious nature of this new photo of Jake and Taylor looking so happy and smiley together. All of the photos we’ve seen of the pair have been taken from behind or from far away … this photo looks way too posed to look like a genuine candid shot. I mean, doesn’t this photo look like the couple are posing? The casual one hand hold, the laughing and looking away … the coffee cup. Doesn’t it seem curious that all of the sudden a professional photographer not only happened to get a clear shot of the couple lookin’ all “coupled up” but that they managed to get the photo face front? It’s all too … perfect. To be honest, I was more willing to believe the couple were actually a couple from all the clandestine camera phone photos snapped of the two of them. This perfectly posed photo makes the whole “relationship” seem … staged. Mebbe I’m wrong and my personal feelings are getting in the way but … what do y’all think?
Every December 1, the world collectively works together to raise AIDS awareness by commemorating the day as World AIDS Day in an effort to raise money for AIDS treatment and research. The theme of World AIDS Day 2010 is Universal Access and Human Rights:
The theme for World AIDS Day 2010 is ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’. Global leaders have pledged to work towards universal access to HIV and AIDS treatment, prevention and care, recognising these as fundamental human rights. Valuable progress has been made in increasing access to HIV and AIDS services, yet greater commitment is needed around the world if the goal of universal access is to be achieved. Millions of people continue to be infected with HIV every year. In low- and middle-income countries, less than half of those in need of antiretroviral therapy are receiving it, and too many do not have access to adequate care services. The protection of human rights is fundamental to combating the global HIV and AIDS epidemic. Violations against human rights fuel the spread of HIV, putting marginalised groups, such as injecting drug users and sex workers, at a higher risk of HIV infection. By promoting individual human rights, new infections can be prevented and people who have HIV can live free from discrimination. World AIDS Day provides an opportunity for all of us – individuals, communities and political leaders – to take action and ensure that human rights are protected and global targets for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care are met.
If you would like to participate in the World AIDS Day campaign in an effort to commemorate the theme of Universal Access and Human Rights, you can get more information on how to do so HERE. OR, you can do something as simple as wearing a red ribbon today to show your commitment to fighting to find a cure for AIDS:
The red ribbon is an international symbol of AIDS awareness that is worn by people all year round and particularly around World AIDS Day to demonstrate care and concern about HIV and AIDS, and to remind others of the need for their support and commitment. The red ribbon started as a “grass roots” effort; as a result there is no one official AIDS ribbon manufacturer, and many people make their own. It’s easily done – just use some ordinary red ribbon and a safety pin! If you want to take your awareness raising a step further then try finding a local event to take part in. Around the world there are hundreds of activities taking place to mark World AIDS Day, including candlelight vigils, art shows, marches and religious services. If you can’t find anything in your area then why not organise an event yourself?
Wednesday, December 1 marks (RED)'s World AIDS Day, where landmarks around the world will be illuminated in red lights to highlight the cause of HIV/AIDS prevention. The organization's goal is for the year 2015 to mark the beginning of the first AIDS-free generation. To raise awareness, social network users can help to turn a map of the world red using Twitter and Facebook or by attending a (RED) Meetup. Foursquare users can also participate by including the hashtag "#turnred" when they check in at any location, which will unlock a special (RED) badge. The checkins (if they're posted to Twitter), tweets and Facebook profile photos will be posted to a map on the (RED) website. Countries that see the most activity across the different channels will turn a deeper shade of red. You'll be able to filter the activities based on the social network — foursquare included — that generated it. (RED)'s primary objective is to raise awareness and funds for the Global Fund, which supports efforts to eliminate AIDS in Africa. A significant portion of their funds are raised by brands like Apple and Gap that offer special (RED) versions of their products and donate a portion of the proceeds to the Global Fund. You can follow (RED) on foursquare to find retailers near you that offer (PRODUCT) RED.
World AIDS Day is all about raising awareness, doing something very simple in unison with millions of people around the world can help make a difference. Silence = Death. I urge you to make the commitment today to be silent no longer.
