‘Dexter’ Has Been Renewed For A Sixth Season

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 02:30 PM PST

Great news, Dexter fans!! The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Showtime is ready to announce that they will renew the series for another season!! It’s almost definitely certain that Dexter and the gang will be back for a sixth season next year!!

This won’t surprise anybody: Showtime is getting ready to announce a renewal for Dexter. The show just had its second highest ratings ever on Sunday night, delivering 2.5 million viewers, up 43% from the fifth season premiere. That almost certainly means the upcoming finale on Dec. 12 is going to set a new viewership record. In 2008, Showtime confidently renewed Dexter for two seasons. That’s not likely to happen this time, since key talent deals will need to be renegotiated before the show’s seventh season. Expect the offical Dexter renewal within the next week or so.

I’ve been LOVING this current 5th season and I am VERY happy to hear that we still have more Dexter to look forward to :) This is great news!! Woot!!

Jared Leto Is Lookin’ Blue

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 02:19 PM PST

Jared Leto, whose band 30 Seconds to Mars finally unleashed their epic music video for Hurricane this week (not without some controversy), was spotted lookin’ a bit like little boy blue in London, England this week … literally:

As we are all very well aware, Jared really loves to play with his hair. Usually, he can do no wrong … but I’m not sure I’m totally feelin’ this blue look on him. I bet he thought he was being cute with the matching blue shoes … and he would be wrong about that. Alas … I miss the days of the hot pink mohawk … those were the good ol’ days. Still, I bet Jared can make this Smurfy new look work for him … at least, I hope he can. What do y’all think? Do you like the blue?

Chick-Fil-A Is FINALLY Coming To Hollywood

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 02:11 PM PST

At long last … Hollywood, CA is finally, actually, most assuredly getting a Chick-Fil-A restaurant … after many years of rumor and conjecture. As you may recall, Ryan Seacrest spilled the beans on this Hollywood Chick-Fil-A back in August … and while I was happy to hear the news, I wasn’t going to start counting my chicks before they hatched. BUT, it would appear, that plans for the Hollywood Chick-Fil-A are actually a go and it is scheduled to open in Summer 2011:

It’s confirmed (now that we’re in the year 2010 and Facebook is a credible journalistic source): fast food chain Chick-fil-A (@CFAhollywood) will open a franchise in Hollywood in summer 2011. Though Chick-fil-A has eateries all over the rest of the country, this will be only the second franchise in Los Angeles proper. (The first is located near USC at 3758 S. Figueroa Street.) Hot rumor of the day: The Hollywood Chick-fil-A will be located at the southeast corner of Highland Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, where Del Taco once stood.

The eatery already has an official Facebook profile HERE. While I am exceedingly happy to hear this latest development, I will not really get happy until I see construction commence on the hallowed ground … or until the Chick-Fil-A sign goes up. Still … I am very encouraged by this happy news ;D

Christina Aguilera Opens Up To ‘People’ Magazine About Her Divorce

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 01:22 PM PST

Yesterday we got a sneak preview of Christina Aguilera‘s new interview with People magazine wherein she opens up, again, about her split from hubby Jordan Bratman. As you may recall, in the quotes we read yesterday, Xtina confirmed (all too quickly, IMHO) that she is currently dating Matthew Rutler. Today we get to read a few more comments from Xtina‘s new People interview, comments which focus more on the demise of her marriage to Jordy:

Christina Aguilera remembers vividly how she felt as she signed the papers in her divorce from music exec Jordan Bratman. “Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it,” the Burlesque star, 29, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview. “I really didn’t want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up.” The decision to end her marriage of five years was not easy for Aguilera, but she strongly felt she had to do what she thought best for her and Jordan’s 2-year-old son. “When you’re unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer,” says the Grammy-winning pop singer, whose own parents’ tumultuous relationship led to divorce when she was 7. “That’s the last thing I wanted for my son.”

The full text of Xtina‘s interview with People magazine, which will undoubtedly include more about her new relationship with Matthew, will be available in this week’s issue of the mag on newsstands tomorrow. I still think it’s a bad idea to rebound so publicly with a new relationship so soon after filing for divorce but every couple is different and every situation is different. I still have my suspicions about what is really going on with Xtina and her private life but in the end, I only wish her all the happiness in the world.

Game time! Can you guess which currently rehabbing celebrity was awarded the Sober Shine Award from the rehab facility she is currently undergoing court-ordered treatment?

I know, I know … it’s tough to guess who it could be … but I think if you really apply yourself, you might come up with the right answer. After the jump, find out who it is — and see new photos of just how fabulous she continues to look …

Yep, you guessed it! Lindsay Lohan is lookin’ good, y’all. Sobriety has done her a WORLD of good. It really does seem like she is taking her rehabilitation seriously … and that is good news — for her! She is really only helping herself and that should be its own reward. Here’s To The Night

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 12:48 PM PST

Last night I made my way out to the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA to see EVE 6 in concert. Yes, the very same EVE 6 who hit it big in the early 00′s with megahits Inside Out, Here’s to the Night and my personal fave Promise. The guys have been out of commission for a while but they are, apparently, back:

I last saw EVE 6 in concert back in 2001 at a tiny gig in Toledo, OH … and I’ve been a fan for a while so I was very excited to see them live again. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect at last night’s show … but I was very pleasantly surprised. After the jump, check out some photos I snapped last night and hear how the show turned out …

Not only was the Troubadour packed with people but most of the people in attendance last night knew the words to every single song the band performed … including new music that has not yet been officially released. Technically, I suppose you could call EVE 6 a local band since they are from the LA area but still … after all these years, I was impressed with the level of fan support they got last night. I had a blast … it was 2001 all over again and I was jumping around like a fool. The show as great, the guys sounded really great and boy … have they grown up. EVE 6 is still made up of lead singer/bassist Max Collins and drummer Tony Fagensen. Original guitarist Jon Siebels is no longer in the band but new guitarist Matt Bair is an excellent replacement. I had a great spot right up against the stage … but right in front of the speakers. Ugh … it’s been a long time since I’ve put my ears thru that kind of work-out. I did manage to get a setlist and a guitar pick so, all in all, it was just like the good ol’ days. I believe EVE 6 played a show last month in NYC and that this LA show was their last of the year. Here’s hoping they play more shows soon tho … they are really fun to see live.

Tonight, David and I are hanging out with Josh and Emma to enjoy a small little Hanukkah dinner together. I’m gettin’ my hair did and all that jazz, should be fun.

REMEMBER … you have until December 10 to enter for a chance to attend the Pirates Fan First event at Disneyland on December 13. Click HERE for all the deets! Happy Thursday!

Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Put Up A United Front Against Horrible New Rumors

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 11:24 AM PST

Yesterday, just one day before Britney Spears‘s 29th birthday today, Star magazine published an unfounded and completely irresponsible report that claimed that Britney confessed to Jason Alexander (the loser Britney married for 55 hours back in 2004) that she was being abused by her current boyfriend Jason Trawick. When I first heard the report yesterday, I was so disgusted by its falsity that I didn’t even bother to mention it because of its sheer lunacy (I’m also refraining from linking to the ridiculous story today). Unfortunately, Britney does not have the luxury of ignoring these sorts of outrageous matters so she was forced to issue an official statement of denial of the Star magazine report. But, even tho a firestorm of controversy was brewing yesterday, Britney and Jason wanted to be together in a show of unity for one another. Here is a photo of Britwick weathering the storm yesterday along with the full text of Britney‘s denial statement:

Every aspect of the story published by Star Magazine is completely and utterly false and Star Magazine was informed of the falsity of this story before it was published. The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a complete fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years. The audio recording posted on Radaronline this morning purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable. Suffice it to say, that Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney. This is just another example of the irresponsible nature of the tabloid media relying on shoddy sources and false information for the sole purpose of selling magazines, without regard to the truth and without regard to who they hurt in the process. These irresponsible statements are defamatory and Britney Spears’ legal team will be taking legal action against all of the appropriate parties.

I understand there is a recording that purports to be of Britney telling Alexander of the abuse claims. TMZ reports that an audio expert has already shot down the validity of this recording as a fake so all that is left is for the lawsuits to come out. I have no doubt that Britney‘s legal team will launch a vigorous and unrelenting lawsuit against everyone involved in the publication of this abuse report. It sucks so bad that Britney has to deal with this kind of garbage on her birthday today but she’s weathered much worse storms and I have full faith that she will not only be vindicated but with end up having a Happy Birthday … thanks to all the LURVE that we are sending to her today :D

Taylor Swift Grabs Coffee Without Jake Gyllenhaal

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 10:50 AM PST

Taylor Swift, who has just been named as Entertainment Weekly magazine’s 2010 Entertainer of the Year, was spotted in her hometown of Nashville, TN heading out for a cup of coffee WITHOUT Jake Gyllenhaal. Dun Dun Dun!!! Normally, this would not be Earth-shattering news but considering that Taylor has been seen on quite a few coffee dates with Jake — her rumored new romantic interest — it seems worth mentioning that she is actually capable of getting coffee without having Jake in her general proximity:

Still, it’s all those coffee dates with Jake that really have tongues wagging these days. As you may recall, just yesterday we saw a new photo of Taylor and Jake lookin’ all perfectly coupley on the cover of US Weekly magazine. Is this solo outing for coffee a sign of the end of Jake and Taylor? Doubtful. Altho I’m still not 100% convinced that whatever is going on between the two of them is a genuine romantic interest, I cannot believe that they will stop being seen together anytime soon. In case you’re interested or are just a masochist, you can check out one more photo of Jake and Taylor together from the new issue of US Weekly after the jump …

Is it real? Is it forever? Is this just a friendship, a fling, a torrid love affair? We can only keep guessing … and that, my friends, is exactly the point. A person who can inspire so much conversation over a few visits to the coffee shop is certainly worthy of being named Entertainer of the Year.

Hugh Jackman & Mochi The Dog Enjoy Some Bonding Time

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 10:05 AM PST

On Tuesday we learned that the Jackmans added a new member to the family when we got our first look at the fam’s new pet pooch Mochi. Today we get to see a couple photos of daddy Hugh Jackman and Mochi enjoying a bit of bonding time as Mochi tries to do his biz in the bitter NYC cold:

Is this not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen? As if the sight of Hugh Jackman playing with his kids wasn’t enough to make your uterus ache, the sight of Hugh and little Mochi is just cute overload! Ah … to be that lucky little pooch … being carried around and loved by such an attentive man as Hugh Jackman clearly is. Something tells me that Mochi is going to enjoy his life as the Jackman family pet … oh yes, indeed.

Eva Longoria & Tony Parker Reunite For Lunch

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 09:20 AM PST

Newly separated and currently divorcing couple Eva Longoria and Tony Parker were spotted at lunch together at a hotel restaurant here in LA recently and it looks like they were discussing everything other than getting back together. Of course, it’s impossible to know what the pair were talking about based on only photos but my guess is that the couple were not talking reconciliation:

Tony Parker and Eva Longoria reunited for a lunch date in L.A. on Wednesday — two weeks after she filed to divorce him in Cali … which was followed by Tony’s own filing in Texas. Awwwwkward. They met on neutral ground … at a hotel in the L.A. area. Tony was in town because his San Antonio Spurs played the Clippers last night — but based on Eva’s gestures and Tony’s expressions … we’re guessing there was little hoops strategy discussed.

TMZ has a bunch of photos from this awkward lunch HERE. It should also be noted that Eva and Tony met privately, without any lawyers present. It sounds like they wanted to get a few things straight between them before their legal representatives hammer out the final details in court. Based solely on this photo (Eva‘s stance, the look on Tony‘s face) it would appear that Eva is the one in the driver’s seat. HMMMM.

‘Entertainment Weekly’ Names Taylor Swift The 2010 ‘Entertainer Of The Year’

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 08:20 AM PST

Congratulations are in order for the 20 year old Taylor Swift today … because Entertainment Weekly has named Taylor as the 2010 Entertainer of the Year! Citing Taylor‘s success on the music charts, at awards shows and on the concert trail, EW decided that Taylor is not only deserving of the title of Entertainer of the Year but they’ve decided to make her the youngest person ever to win the honor. Here is the new issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine, which salutes all of the Entertainers of 2010, with Taylor Swift on the cover:

Taylor Swift kicked off 2010 with a No. 2 single debut ("Today Was a Fairytale"), a hit movie (Valentine's Day), and four Grammy wins, including Album of the Year. She then spent months headlining arena concerts and big-ticket awards shows. But there was one achievement — the Oct. 25 release of her third record, Speak Now — that topped everything. Buoyed by strong reviews and the radio-friendly hit "Mine," Speak amassed a jaw-dropping 1,047,000 units in first-week sales, the highest tally for any release in five years. For all that, the confidently sweet 20-year-old who was only 2 months old when Entertainment Weekly launched in 1990 is now our youngest-ever Entertainer of the Year. In our interview, Swift talks about all the speculation surrounding the subjects of the songs on Speak Now, understood to include ex-boyfriends Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas, and John Mayer. "Sometimes I would laugh because I would see it in print and it would say, 'This song, which is written about her ex, so-and-so…' And they would write about it as if it was fact. The fact is, I haven't ever confirmed that any song is about any particular person. There's something kind of freeing about that. As far as I'm concerned, it's all still up in the air." She also explains how she decided to perform her song "Innocent," which sure seems to be about Kanye West, at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. "I had decided that I didn't want to perform on the show. Or even go. Then I woke up in the middle of the night and I realized that I had to, and that I wanted to perform that song."

EW has selected 14 Top Entertainers for 2010 — including James Franco, Jon Hamm and others — but, apparently, Taylor Swift tops them all. I can’t say that I can argue with the stellar year Taylor has enjoyed in 2010. She has enjoyed much success so I applaud her for this latest accolade. BUT, if the love affair she has apparently sparked up with Jake Gyllenhaal actually turns out to be the real deal, then she has already won the biggest prize of all. Still, I suppose congratulations are in order for Miss Swift. What do y’all think? Do YOU think Taylor Swift is a worthy Entertainer of the Year? If not, who would you select?

The 2011 Grammy Awards Nominations Have Been Announced

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 08:02 AM PST

Congratulations are in order for Eminem and a host of other musical acts who are celebrating their Grammy Awards nominations today. Em ended up nabbing 10 nominations — including Album of the Year — while Lady Antebellum, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga each walked away with 6 nominations each. Read on for all the deets on who will and who won’t compete for Grammy Awards in 2011:

When Eminem was first nominated for album of the year some 10 years ago for “The Marshall Mathers LP,” it marked a milestone for the Grammys as it chose to honor an album that was considered masterful in its artistry yet morally bankrupt in its values. On Wednesday, as the Recording Academy once again nominated Eminem for album of the year along with nine other bids, it again gave accolades to a foul but genius piece of work — Cee Lo’s “Fuck You,” an infectious retro groove with an unforgettable, unprintable chorus. The tune, which is so profane it had to be changed to “Forget You” for radio play, was nominated for two top Grammy honors: record and song of the year … It’s a sign of how much times, and Eminem himself, have changed that his leading nominations were not controversial, but expected and respected. The person with the second-leading tally, Bruno Mars with seven, was not without his own drama this year, after being arrested in Las Vegas in a cocaine possession case, which is pending. It was the only negative in a brilliant year for Mars, who co-wrote “Fuck You” and was also featured on B.o.B’s “Nothin’ on You,” also nominated for record of the year … Other top nominees included Lady Antebellum, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga, who were all nominated with six each. Gaga also was nominated for album of the year — the second straight nomination in the category for her … Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” was one of the year’s top hits but was shut out of the record and song of the year categories. Yet Perry, who performed the hit on the nominations broadcast, was far from disappointed: Her album “Teenage Dream” was nominated for album of the year, along with Gaga’s “The Fame Monster,” “Recovery,” “Need You Now” and Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs” … Justin Bieber … was nominated for best new artist in a category that also included Drake, Florence & the Machine, Mumford & Sons and jazz artist Esperanza Spaulding … The evening’s biggest snub may have belonged to Ke$ha. Even though the party-girl singer had a top-selling debut and several hit songs, she was not nominated for any awards.

Biggest snub? Are you EFFING kidding me? Ke$ha‘s music is complete shite! Yes it’s catchy but it’s meaningless … and not in that “all pop music is meaningless” sort of way. I am not always a fan of the way the Grammy noms and awards get handed out but Ke$ha‘s shut-out this year kinda restores my faith in the institution of the Grammy Awards. In my mind, Eminem had one of THE best albums of the year … hands down. I’m hoping he’ll clean up at the Grammys next year. Click HERE to see the full list of 2011 Grammy Awards nominations. Did your faves get noms? Who are you rooting for to win?

Happy 29th Birthday, Britney Spears

Posted: 02 Dec 2010 07:00 AM PST

Huzzah!! Happy Day!! Felicitations!! Do you know what today is? Today is the day that we give thanks and celebrate the birth of the beautiful, amazing, gorgeous, living legend, icon of our generation, innovator, strong, kicks ass & takes names, doesn't retaliate when people diss her – takes the high road, deserves a standing ovation at all times, QUEEN of all popdom … our dear Britney Spears:

While December 2 is not yet a national holiday, I still think that we should all take some time out of our day and send ALL OF OUR BIRTHDAY LURVE to our beloved Britney today. As you may have heard, there are some heinous rumors going on about Britney and her lovebird Jason Trawick — rumors that were so unbelievably ridiculous that I didn’t even both to mention them yesterday … but I will cover in a post later today — but let’s send her love and well wishes today to offset the horrible negativity that is plaguing her these days. IMHO Britney Spears truly is a living legend in her own way and I, for one, wish her the HAPPIEST of Birthdays today and many, many, many more Happy Birthdays to come!!
