Brangelina & The Twins Invade NYC

Posted: 05 Dec 2010 01:15 PM PST

The globetrotting Brangelina family have made their way from Paris, France (where they recently celebrated Pax Thien‘s 7th birthday together and paid an intimate visit to the Aquarium de Paris) to NYC, NY this weekend and managed to invade and take the city by storm. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stepped out with their twin babies Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Léon for a quick shopping trip to an art store this weekend … and boy did they cause a stir:

It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for the Jolie-Pitt family, who flew into New York City on Saturday. Recently, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took Zahara and Shiloh shopping in Paris. Days later, the family went on a hot-air balloon ride and a boat trip in celebration of son Pax’s seventh birthday. Later, some of the family members visited the aquarium in Paris. Now the globe-trotting clan has landed in the Big Apple, where on Saturday Pitt and Jolie took twins Knox and Vivienne to Lee’s Art Shop in Manhattan, a longtime favorite spot for the family. “She was her usual beautiful self and he was handsome and friendly,” according to one observer. “The twins are perfect and adorable – what sweet faces.” According to the source, the family was accompanied by a bodyguard, who stopped photographers from following them inside, where the foursome spent time on the children’s art supply floor. “It’s so nice that the world’s biggest movie stars make time for their kids,” the source added.

Brangelina are in town for the NYC premiere of Ange‘s new film The Tourist (which will take place on Monday night) but it’s clear the trip is NOT all about work for the bizzy family. It’s unclear if the rest of the Brangelina kids were left back in Paris (or wherever) but it’s nice to see the twins out and about :)

Dancer In The Dark

Posted: 05 Dec 2010 01:04 PM PST

Yesterday evening, David and I met up with our friend Jen at the ArcLight Hollywood for an early showing of Black Swan (primarily because most of the showings last night were completely sold out) so that we could AT LAST see the film that everyone has been buzzing about … for months. Without question, Black Swan is now one of my favorite films of the year:

Black Swan is absolutely a Darren Aronofsky masterpiece … those of you who are familiar with and love his films will most assuredly enjoy Black Swan. To be honest, I’m having a hard time thinking of ways to describe it. The pace is frantic and the action is dizzying … there are times when you have no idea what exactly is going on and it’s never easy to believe what you see happen on the screen. Natalie Portman‘s acting performance is a tour de force … she is really magnificent as Nina Sayers, overwrought yet hugely talented ballet dancer. Mila Kunis is also fantastic but her role as the cool chick ballerina is fun rather than impressive. The film is all about Portman. I don’t know that I’ve seen a more beautiful film this year … without question, Black Swan will be honored in some way at the Academy Awards next year. IMHO, Swan is a much superior film to The Wrestler (which won a few Oscars) so I’m counting on Portman and Aronofsky to be honored with their own Oscars this time around. I would deffo call Black Swan intense and very scary … be prepared to be in a clenched posture thruout the film. I was so stressed by the franticness of the film that I needed to relax and come down after it was over. Just … brilliant. There are a few things about the film that I must see again so that I can sort them out in my head but YOU MUST see Black Swan at least once in theaters. The film opened in select cities this weekend but it will open more wide in the coming weeks. See this film, you must!!!

After the movie, we went out for some eats at 8oz. Burger Bar and Jen and I chatted away the night for hours! ‘Twas a fun night out, indeedie.

Today, I’m meeting up with Darion and some friends for a fun afternoon hangout session and then tonight David and I are planning to hang out with Jordan for his birthday! It’s a bummer that the weekend is already over already … hope you have a great Sunday!!

I don’t know about you but there is something about Marlon‘s come hither eyes that make me want to, well, come thither. He deffo has one of those smoldering looks that really makes you want to get to know him better, don’t he? Brazil sure knows how to make beautiful people, I gotta give them that. Enjoy!!

Kristen Stewart & Rob Pattinson Go For A Dip In Brazil

Posted: 05 Dec 2010 12:04 PM PST

Last month we saw a few photos of actor Robert Pattinson taking a swimming break in his underwear in between takes on the set of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. Today we get to see new photos of Rob and his co-star/rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart going for a swim on set together:

She’s know for being dark and brooding, but Kristen Stewart looked white hot in a tiny bikini while taking a beach break with Robert Pattinson. Newly-released pictures of the couple show them playfully stripped down and swimming together in the ocean in Brazil. Kristen, 20, looked toned in her bandeau two-piece as she emerged from the water with her wet hair slicked back. Robert, 24, seemed in very high spirits as the pair cavorted together. He took a running jump into the water wearing only his underwear. Clad in a pair of black Calvin Klein boxers, the Twilight star was taking time out from filming Breaking Dawn, the latest instalment in the vampire saga. As Robert leapt yelling over Kristen’s head, she ducked low in the water and grimaced at the oncoming splash from her boyfriend. Witnesses also spotted Kristen jumping on Robert’s back for a piggyback ride. The pair were also seen filming steamy kissing scenes on the streets of Brazil’s capital Rio De Janeiro last month. Twilight: Breaking Dawn is set for release on Nov 18th, 2011.

Um ……………. doesn’t Robert Pattinson make, like, $1 million dollars a second every day he draws breath on this Earth? How is it that the guy cannot afford to own a pair of actual swimming shorts. HMMMM. Still … it does look like he’s having fun, soggy undies and all. K. Stew looks pretty rockin’ in her bikini … miserable but rockin’. Ah, young lurve.

Mochi The Dog Is JackMAN’s Best Friend

Posted: 05 Dec 2010 11:37 AM PST

Last Tuesday we got our first look at the newest member of the Jackman family — a pet pooch named Mochi. On Thursday, we saw cute photos of daddy Hugh Jackman enjoying some bonding time with the pup and today we get to see eldest child Oscar Maximillian sharing his own bonding time with little Mochi:

I have to say, I’m not a big dog person … but this pooch is cute as HELL! I’m not sure if it’s me or not but the more I see Mochi in Hugh‘s arms the more I see the two of them looking more alike (er, you know … except that Mochi doesn’t have a homeless man beard). I really love posting photos of Hugh Jackman and his family … but now that the Jackmans have this adorable pet pooch, OY! I just love them all even more. Aren’t they just the cutest ever?

Gerard Butler Goes Apeshizz On A Photographer

Posted: 05 Dec 2010 10:43 AM PST

The usually testy actor Gerard Butler was especially testy in Miami, FL yesterday when he decided to go all crazypants on a paparazzi photographer who was taking photos at the Art Basel Miami event at the Miami Convention Center yesterday afternoon … take a look:

Thankfully Gerard did NOT take a page from the Russell Crowe playbook (who got himself into a bit of trouble a few years ago when he went all Naomi Campbell on a poor unsuspecting hotel concierge when he assaulted him with a telephone). As you can see, Gerard had a phone handy and managed to refrain from hurling the device at the offending photog. Good Gerry, good boy. Still … Mr. Butler may want to get that temper in check a bit better … he doesn’t really want to join the Naomi Campbell/Russell Crowe Phone Club, now does he?

Celebs Help LA Light The Fake Plastic Xmas Tree

Posted: 05 Dec 2010 10:30 AM PST

Willow Smith, Seal, Stevie Wonder, 90210‘s Jessica Lowndes and Jersey Shore‘s Paul Pauly D Delvecchio were among the performers who provided the entertainment at The Holiday Tree Lighting at L.A. LIVE in downtown LA last night. The celebs were on hand for the official lighting of the 54 foot LED holiday tree (which is made up of over 10,000 lights) as well as the official opening of the new 70×80 outdoor ice skating rink located within Nokia Plaza. Here are a few photos and some deets about the event:

‘Tis the season for giant Christmas trees! When LA Live opened for business two years ago, it became the Southland’s unofficial version of New York’s Times Square—a go-to meeting place for friends and loved ones to enjoy the holiday season. And this Christmas at LA Live will prove to be even more spectacular than the last two! Hosted by Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, the fun and festivities of the LA Live Holiday Celebration will kick off this Saturday with the tree lighting, a 54-foot LED tree with over 10,000 lights. The tree lighting ceremony will also include the grand opening of the Nokia Plaza’s outdoor ice arena, as well as special performances by Grammy award-winning singer Seal, Willow Smith, and an ice skating performance by 2010 Olympic Gold Medalist Evan Lysacek. The event will also kick off AEG’s Season of Giving Initiative, which will honor a different charity or non-profit organization each night at the ice skating rink. Because what’s a holiday season without giving?

I suppose it’s entirely unsurprising to learn that LA has a huge fake plastic tree smack dab in the “Times Square of Los Angeles” but, well, we do. David and I first saw the tree lit up (unofficially, I guess) when we went to LA Live last weekend to see Ok Go in concert … as fake as it is, it’s pretty impressive. Josh and I were at LA Live on Friday night and we saw lots of people skating in the outdoor ice rink … which is pretty unbelievable for SoCal. Say what you will about the artificiality of Tinsel Town, we do have a fun way of celebrating the holidays in new and fun ways.

The Oklahoma Sooners Are The 2010 Big 12 Champions

Posted: 05 Dec 2010 09:38 AM PST

You’ll have to pardon my insane excitement but I simply MUST pass along the fantastic news that my college alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, defeated the University of Nebraska in spirited college football play yesterday to become the 2010 Big 12 league champions! My Sooners took on the Cornhuskers in Arlington, TX for the Big 12 Championship and managed to come out victorious with a big win! Nebraska is leaving the Big 12 league after this season to join the Big 10 league but the mighty Sooners made sure they left the Big 12 with their tails between their legs … a no trophy. The championship trophy, instead, will be headed for Norman, OK for the 7th time in Big 12 history :) Here are a few pics of my boys in Crimson & Cream celebrating their big win last night and some deets about the game itself:

No. 10 Oklahoma is keeping the conference title in the Big 12 family. Nebraska is headed to the Big Ten with one more sour championship-game memory. Travis Lewis had an interception in the end zone and recovered two fumbles, and the Sooners rallied from a 17-point deficit to beat Nebraska 23-20 on Saturday night in the Big 12 championship, the Cornhuskers' last stand in the conference. Oklahoma won its seventh Big 12 title—more than twice as many as any other school—and the seventh straight by schools from the South Division. With Nebraska bolting to the Big Ten and Colorado off to the Pac-12, there won't be another Big 12 title game in the immediate future. "It's pretty special to have the last championship and to add to the number we already have is really pretty special for sure," coach Bob Stoops said. Landry Jones threw for 342 yards and a touchdown and also sneaked in for another score from 1 yard out as the Sooners (11-2) made the second biggest comeback in Big 12 championship history. Colorado came back from 19 down to Texas in 2001. The No. 13 Cornhuskers (10-3) self-destructed, squandering a 17-0 lead with four turnovers and getting shut out in the second half for the first time all season. "This is a great feeling. This is my third Big 12 championship and this one's definitely the sweetest," Lewis said. "The fashion that we won this game in, we always pride ourselves that defense wins championships. I felt like we got rattled a little early, we gave up some big plays but we never panicked." Jimmy Stevens delivered the game-winner, a 27-yard field goal, with 8:28 to play after Lewis' third takeaway … "We wanted this bad," Lewis said. "This has been a long season. We have been tested in so many ways. We have been with our backs against the wall. We came out here and the defense totally dominated." The longtime rivals had played each other in 71 straight seasons as members of the Big Six and as national powerhouses in the Big Eight before being split up into separate divisions in the Big 12 … "Beating Nebraska, like this, in this game? Are you kidding" Stoops said. "It's just great to get another championship.”

Woot!! Now y’all know that I am not a big sports fan but I simply must cheer when any team near and dear to my heart does well in championship play. You might not believe this but I attended every single home football and basketball game thruout all my years at OU and really missed that feeling of being there to cheer on my team. Unfortch, during my years at OU, the Sooners didn’t win any championships … but still, they are my team and I couldn’t be prouder of them. OU has won the final Big 12 Championship because they’ve got skills, drive and heart. Boomer Sooner, y’all!! Woot!!
