Watch: Julia Stiles Delivers The BEST ‘Dexter’ Line Ever

It’s no secret that Showtime‘s Dexter is arguably THE best show on TV right now … and after last night’s gripping episode, I think you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone would would disagree … particularly because of one scene that featured Michael C. Hall (Dexter), Julia Stiles (Lumen) and a very talented cat:


Even if you don’t watch Dexter (and, honestly, you really SHOULD be watching Dexter), this clip is deffo worth your time. If you watch Dexter but have not yet watched last night’s episode and fear that this clip might spoil the ep for you, rest assured it does not. Check it out in full, after the jump …


LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! David and I got to see this scene a couple of weeks ago on a promo DVD of last night’s ep and I was howling with laughter on the floor when this scene came on. Watching it again today is honestly just as funny. If Julia Stiles does not win an Emmy Award for delivering this line alone, there is no justice in the world. LOLOLOLOL!

Ryan Gosling Does ‘New York’ Magazine

Ryan Gosling is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of New York magazine. During his photoshoot for the mag, he got the wild idea to make and throw a Molotov cocktail … just because. But, before we get to that bit of fun, let’s check out Ryan‘s very manly NY mag coverphoto and read some excerpts from his interview:

Blue Valentine, directed by Derek Cianfrance, is the film that best captures Gosling's particular brand of manliness—the back-and-forth between tender, boyish goofiness and a more virile, dangerous, and unpredictable sexuality. The film tracks the six-year devolution of a romance between Dean (Gosling), bighearted and blue-collar, and Cindy (Williams), the shy young nurse he marries and has a daughter with. The film is ultimately devastating—at times harsh and claustrophobic, like a pomo Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? "Ryan plays his character with such brutal honesty," says his friend Mark Ruffalo. "It's when acting becomes being." Gosling was intrigued by the script's evocation of "erosion and what a powerful force that is, that can turn a mountain into a rock. The film is like that Supremes song 'Where Did Our Love Go' " he says. "It's a mystery and you in the audience are the detective because the characters in the movie are too close to it—they're not able to see what went wrong, what happened. They still love each other, but they're not in love: Why?" He tried to persuade Cianfrance to shoot the two parts of the film—the couple's courtship and the crumbling of the marriage—six years apart, to match the timeline of the script. "We couldn't get anyone to finance that idea," says Gosling. So the director enabled his star's love of improvisation and full character immersion as best he could. After completing the scenes of Dean and Cindy falling in love (which includes an enchanting ukulele moment), and to prepare for the bad times, Gosling and Williams moved into a Pennsylvania house for four weeks with the young actress who played their daughter. They had a pretend Christmas and birthdays, and Gosling "would make us ice-cream shakes to put on weight," says Williams. "We'd clean up the kitchen, take out the trash, do a budget—I'd do a budget and Ryan would try to put in $500 a year for cigarettes" … improvisation paid off in sex scenes with Williams that are difficult to watch—not because of any physical act, but because they are so emotionally raw. Blue Valentine was given an NC-17, a decision Gosling called "misogynistic" in a statement to the MPAA: It's "okay supporting scenes that portray women in scenarios of sexual torture and violence for entertainment purposes, but they are trying to force us to look away from a scene that shows a woman in a sexual scenario, which is both complicit and complex" … Gosling might dislike the current business of Hollywood, but, actually, he's a die-hard fan of the classic studio system. "It used to be mandatory to sing, dance, and act—to do comedy as well as drama," says Gosling. "You came out here and trained. Over time, [actors] got compartmentalized. If you tried to play a character that was south side of a character you were made famous for, you were kicked to the curb, or shamed into getting back in line. The idea," he says, "is to go back to the way things used to be."

Because David loves all things New York, he has a subscription to New York magazine so I am really looking forward to reading this interview with Ryan. I am also really interested in seeing Blue Valentine, NC-17 rating and all. It sucks that the MPAA wields so much power with their movie ratings because IMHO, they tend to get their ratings wrong a lot … but, that is a discussion for another time. Um … well, at least he was a good boy about it and responsibly put out the fire caused by his cocktail. Blue Valentine will open in theaters on December 31.

Emma Stone Goes Blonde For ‘Spider-Man’

In October we learned that actress Emma Stone has been cast to star as original Peter Parker girlfriend Gwen Stacy in the big screen reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise and today we get our first look at Emma rockin’ her newly bleached blonde locks which she showed off this weekend on the red carpet here in LA. Filming production is prolly right around the corner, so Emma had to color her lovely red hair blonde:


Emma Stone ALWAYS looks lovely, no question. But, I greatly prefer to see her with her red hair … and I STILL think that the powers that be missed a great opportunity to get Emma to play the red-headed Mary Jane Watson in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot. BUT, the casting has already been decided … Emma is blonde … what do y’all think?

Neve Campbell Opens Up About Her Divorce

At the beginning of his month, we learned the sad news that Scream star Neve Campbell had filed for divorce from John Light, her husband of 3 years. Today we get to hear from Neve about how she’s doing since deciding to end her marriage in new comments she made on the red carpet last week:

Neve Campbell isn’t keeping a low profile after splitting from husband of three years, Brit actor John Light. She attended Wednesday’s Friars Club roast of Quentin Tarantino at the New York Hilton and Towers. Asked how she was holding up, she told UsMagazine.com, “I’m always doing great.” The unattached actress’ goal this holiday season? “Spending time with my family and friends,” said Campbell, 37, who returns to the big screen in Scream 4 (out Apr. 15). “I’m really looking forward to that this year.”

It’s never nice to hear that a married couple decides to divorce but it really sounds like Neve is doing OK. Her comment that she’s “always doing great” seems to imply that she won’t let anyone or anything keep her down. I have loved Neve Campbell for years (not only in the Scream films but also her work in The Craft) and I am really looking forward to seeing her in Scream 4. I sincerely hope that her split from John is the best thing for the both of them. Neve is single and prolly not quit ready to mingle … but she’ll get there some day.

Christina Aguilera & Matthew Rutler’s Relationship Goes Back A Ways

In mid-November we got to see what we thought was the first photo of the newly single Christina Aguilera out on a date with her new man Matthew Rutler (a relationship she confirmed just last week to People magazine) but the pair have been hanging out together … for a while. We knew that that Xtina and Matt got close on the set of Burlesque but did you know that that closeness goes all the way back to at least February of this year? Well before she decided to divorce husband Jordan Bratman … HMMM:

Many Hollywood romances blossom on film sets. And it seems the same is true for Christina Aguilera and her new boyfriend Matt Rutler. The couple met on the set of her debut film Burlesque earlier in the year, but the singer says they didn’t start dating until after she filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman. New pictures have emerged showing that the pair did indeed grow close during filming, and that Matt, who worked as a set assistant, was glued to her side. The 29-year-old singer has been open about the fact that she struck up a friendship with Rutler, who is also a guitarist, during filming. ‘Matthew is a special person,’ she told People magazine last week. ‘We had a really strong friendship on the movie. He’s the kind of person you could spend hours on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it’s daylight. Once I filed for divorce, we started dating. I’m not trying to jump into anything. I just left a five-year marriage. I’m taking it slow and trying to be happy.’

I’m still not personally convinced that Xtina and Matt are as romantically involved as she claims but it is clear that the two have been friends for a while. Whether or not these two will take things to the next level and really solidify their relationship is anyone’s guess. As you may recall, Xtina took Matt with her to Japan last weekend so that he could be with her while she promotes Burlesque over there this week. We’ll just have to wait and see how their relationship continues to develop. What do y’all think … are these to in lurve?

A Brush With Royal/T

Yesterday afternoon, I met up with Darion and a bunch of his peeps at Royal/T Cafe, Shop, Artspace in Culver City, CA so that we could grab some dessert and check out the new Tron: Legacy pop-up shop that is there for the next few weeks. It was really great getting to see Darion and everyone … I hadn’t seen any of them for a long time. I got to meet little Miss Flynn for the first time, the beautiful daughter of Darion’s good friends Julie and Vince:


In all honesty, I wasn’t at all impressed with the Royal/T place overall. The service in the cafe was horrid, the art was … nonexistent … and the pop-up shop was full of outrageously overpriced items. The best part of the visit was getting to hang out with everyone, especially Flynn who is the cutest little nugget ever! OY! That baby is so cute … it was all I could do to keep from eating up her teeny-weeny toes!

After this hangout session, David and I met up with Jordan and a group of his friends for a belated birthday dinner at BLD. We had so much fun getting to celebrate Jordan and getting to know better his great group of friends. Despite the rain, Sunday was a pretty rad day. Today beings a whole new week! Tonight I’m heading out to a Star Wars: The Clone Wars screening in Hollywood … and on Wednesday, I fly back to Detroit for the rest of the week. We are just weeks away from the end of 2010 … can you believe it?!

Last month we got our first look at the new teaser poster for the upcoming sequel film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and last week I announced a new Pink is the new Blog contest for a couple of lucky readers and their guests to win FREE tickets to Disneyland here in SoCal to attend a very special Pirates Fan First! event next week. Today we get to check out some behind the scenes on set video, courtesy of Entertainment Tonight, from the UK set of Pirates for an inside look at the movie currently in production:

‘Batman: The Dark Knight’ Rises Will Film In The UK

Last month we learned that Tom Hardy (rumored to play villain Hugo Strange) had joined the cast of the upcoming Christopher Nolan-directed sequel film Batman: The Dark Knight Rises and last week we learned that Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Two Face Dent) will NOT be appearing in DKR. Today we learn that Nolan has decided to take production of the new Batman film back to the UK and film the principal interior scenes at the Cardington Hangars … which is where Batman Begins and Batman: The Dark Knight were filmed:

Last week Hero Complex confirmed where The Dark Knight Rises would not be filming, and now Variety knows where it will. In a recent article, Variety confirms that The Dark Knight Rises crew will be heading back to the Cardington hangars, which sit just outside of Bedford. This isn't a huge surprise, both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were shot there. Hopefully we'll see the return of the Batcave, Wayne Manor, and the Narrows, all of which are over in the UK. I think it's safe to assume production will also be returning to Chicago as well. In another bit of news, production designer Nathan Crowley will be returning for The Dark Knight Rises. Crowley has previously worked on Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Production is scheduled to begin in May 2011.

As you may recall, we saw many exterior photos from the set of The Dark Knight when production moved to Chicago, IL but the interior stuff was all shot in the UK. It makes total sense that the next Batman movie will be filmed there as well. I understand Nolan is due to turn in the final script for The Dark Knight Rises to his bosses as Warner Bros. Studios this week so … things should be happening very soon production-wise. Altho the film won’t be released until the Summer of 2012, we have many months ahead to look forward to of the filming production of the movie. Wee!

Jake Gyllenhaal & Anne Hathaway Hit The Promo Trail Down Under

Now here’s a coupling I can get on board with … Jake Gyllenhaal and co-star Anne Hathaway have made their way down under to Australia to do some promo work for the release of their new film Love and Other Drugs. Jake and Anne posed for the Aussie press at The Wharf Restaurant in Walsh Bay, Sydney … don’t they look so good together?

They say the best way to achieve beautiful skin is by protecting yourself in the sun. And Anne Hathaway certainly seems to be taking that to heart. The actress has been in Australia promoting her latest film for several days now – but does not appear to have even the slightest hint of a tan, despite the broiling Sydney sun. Anne and Jake Gyllenhaal continued to promote their new film Love & Other Drugs today in Sydney. There’s no doubt that despite her lack of golden glow, Anne was having a wonderful time. The 27-year-old and Jake couldn’t stop laughing as they posed for a photocall in the sunshine yesterday, their arms affectionately around each other. Wearing a very short sparkly dress and heels, Anne looked chic yet girlish. Meanwhile Jake, 29, kept it simple in blue jeans and a blue shirt.

I know many of y’all, like me, are none too pleased by the sight of Jake lookin’ all couplely with Taylor Swift … but I think the sight of these two together more than makes up for the Jake/Taylor pairing. Many folks have asked me if I would be happy to see Jake matched up with anyone … and I say, yes! If Jake and Anne started dating, I would be among their biggest champions. They seem well-matched to me … in fact, Anne makes the most sense for Jake. Both actors are fairly talented and successful. They have great chemistry on screen which means they must have great chemistry off screen as well. It’s very clear these two are already great friends … wouldn’t they make great lovers as well? I say, Jake – ditch Taylor, get with a real woman! Sometimes the thing you’re lookin’ for the most is right in under your nose.

Watch: The Cast Of ‘Glee’ Performs On ‘The X Factor’ In The UK

The cast of Glee (sans Chris Colfer who got left behind in LA to film scenes with Darren Criss for an upcoming episode of the show) made their way to the UK this weekend to put on a special performance on competitive reality TV series The X Factor. Here are a few screencaps of the Glee folks belting out their new trademark song Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey:


The Glee kids will be touring Europe next year, much like they did here in the US earlier this year, performing in concert many of the songs that have been featured on the show. As I understand it, The X Factor is still doing gangbusters in the UK so this performance by the cast of Glee was watched by many people on that side of the pond. Dude, Amber Riley KILLS in this performance. I mean, she is hands down the most impressive singer among the bunch and she always thrills when she opens her mouth but … dang … when she belts out her little solos in this performance, I got goosebumps. She is fantastic. I really loved the Glee concert when I saw it here last May … the folks in Europe are in for a treat.

Clearance Sale: James Franco Underwear

Last month we learned that David Beckham was planning the launch of his own line of underwear … but did you know that actor James Franco already has a line of underwear named for him? Yeah, neither did I. It turns out, tho, that the undies don’t really sell very well. No, the undies have not been spotted in high end department stores like Bloomingdale’s or Saks Fifth Avenue … they have, instead, been spotted in a close-out mall in Brooklyn, NY marked way, way down … behold:

James Franco is truly Hollywood's greatest multi-hyphenated entity since Barbra Streisand became a certified public notary. Actor, writer, director, Ph. D. student and even Oscar Host are just some of the entries in Franco's C.V. And to that storied list we can now add underwear magnate. Click through for the photograph evidence. Sadly, Franco's James Franco Brand Underwear is not doing as well as its namesake. Though blessed with an elastic band and a breathable cotton panel, this man-undies were snapped in the Brooklyn Close-Out Mall. Better luck next time, James Franco and James Franco Brand Underwear!

LMAO!! I don’t even know what to make of this. I don’t know that I believe that James Franco has anything to do with his namesake undies. A lot of counterfeit companies manufacture products and slap famous people’s names on them in an effort to trick people into buying their wares so my guess is that that is what is going on here. Still … who wouldn’t want to get their hands on James Franco‘s underwear … and for such a low, low price!? Should these Franco boxers show up at any close-out malls here on the West Coast, I might have to pick me up a few pairs … then all of my Xmas shopping for friends will be complete!

Lindsay Lohan Continues To Shine In Rehab

Here are a couple new photos of Lindsay Lohan continuing to look fantastic as she makes her way to one of her regularly scheduled alcohol education classes in her Sober Living program at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA. As we continue to see, it appears that L. Lo is thriving in her program there … let’s hope her commitment to staying clean stays strong:


We’ve been seeing photos of Lindsay lookin’ pretty good for the past few weeks … but, again, none of this really means anything substantial just yet. Just because she looks well does not mean A.) that she is actually well and/or B.) that she will continue to do well once she gets out of rehab and into the real world. That being said, I think Lindsay really has a chance here to thrive in her sobriety. If she wants to stay clean, she’ll stay clean. She hasn’t looked this well in so long … how can she not want to stay clean, you know? I think we should cheerlead her as much as possible in the hopes that she continues to keep her nose of of trubs, gets her head back in the game and makes a concerted effort to save her own life.

Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Enjoy A Mexican Getaway For Her Birthday

Last Thursday, in a tweet message where she made first mention of her romantic relationship with beau Jason Trawick, Britney Spears shared that she and Jason were heading off to enjoy a romantic weekend together in celebration of her birthday. Today we learn that Britwick made their way to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico by way of private jet and the pair enjoyed a relaxing, fun and loving weekend together:

Britney Spears celebrated a very happy long birthday weekend with boyfriend Jason Trawick during a romantic trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. “When they landed, she got to the [private] villa and was blown away,” a source tells PEOPLE of the couple, who arrived on Dec. 2, Spears’s 29th birthday. “Jason had arranged a red velvet cake for her birthday” … “They suntanned and did a lot of relaxing and decompressing,” says the source. “They seemed very much in love. ” Indeed, a source close to Spears told PEOPLE last week that “the couple’s relationship is better [than ever]. Britney and Jason lately have been very happy together.”

Awww … this is great news! Yay!! After the horrible rumors the couple had to endure last week (on Britney‘s birthday, even), I’m glad to hear that Britwick managed to escape it all and have themselves a superfun weekend. I just love Britney and Jason together … I honestly think he is the best thing to happen to her in a long time. Long live, Britwick!! Here’s to many, many years ahead of happy, happy romantic getaways together :)
