Rielle Hunter can’t stop thinking about how she gets to marry “Johnny” now

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 08:51 AM PST

Can I admit something? I'm impressed that thus far, John Edwards hasn't come out with his weepy douche-face on, whining about Elizabeth's passing. I thought he would do that right away - take a stroll in front of the cameras, cry a little for his public. The fact that he hasn't makes me think that maybe a small part of him "gets it" you know? Gets that we don't want to see his dumbass, gets that a lot of people still harbor nasty feelings towards him about the whole Rielle Hunter situation. Speaking of Rielle, Radar reports that she's all excited now that Elizabeth is dead. Sorry, I should have warned you that a dry heave was coming. Yes, Rielle thinks that because Elizabeth has finally passed away, now she and "Johnny" are going to get hitched. She even thinks people should be impressed by her patience!

As friends and family mourn the passing of Elizabeth Edwards, the mistress of her estranged husband John Edwards continues to hold out hope that she and the former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination can finally be together.

A source close to the mistress Rielle Hunter and to the Edwards family exclusively told RadarOnline.com: “Rielle has been very patient through all of this. She still believes that John is her soul mate, and she thinks that they’re going to get married.”

That’s a sentiment that’s sure to anger many who loved Elizabeth and applauded her courage while dealing with a husband who cheated on her as she battled cancer. On Tuesday, Elizabeth, 61, passed away after a six-year struggle with cancer. She was surrounded by friends and family who rushed to her side after the shocking announcement that her doctors believed any further medical treatment would be futile.

The source revealed that Hunter has been closely watching Elizabeth’s situation.

“She doesn’t care about anyone but herself. She’s been selfish and horrible this whole time, no matter what else has been said about her,” the source said.

Hunter currently lives in a home paid for by John Edwards. She lives there with their young daughter Quinn, the child John originally denied was his, even when the National Enquirer busted him visiting Rielle and Quinn in a Beverly Hills hotel.

As for how Rielle will respond publicly to the news that Elizabeth has passed away, the source said they doubted what she said would be heartfelt.

“She will say nice things about Elizabeth, but only if it makes her look good,” the source added.

[From Radar]

Yeah, I totally don't doubt the validity of this story. If I learned anything from watching Rielle in that Oprah interview, it's that she's as delusional and vapid as they come. It wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that she's making Elizabeth's death all about RIELLE. My guess is that as soon as Elizabeth's death was announced, Rielle was on the phone to Johnny to offer her "sympathy" plus a little reminder that now they could get married.

Jennifer Aniston tells Chelsea that she’s still in love with Brad, says Star Mag

It's 2005, y'all! Jennifer Aniston made the cover of this week's Star Magazine, all because she (allegedly) can't stop talking and obsessing over Brad Pitt. To the point where she "poured out her heart" to Chelsea Handler when they were vacationing together in Cabo. Allegedly, Jennifer told Chelsea "I can't stop loving Brad" and Chelsea has swooped in to go on an anti-Jolie rampage in the hopes of FINALLY making Brad realize that the mother of his six children is a horrible person and that he should FINALLY leave her for Aniston. Of course.

Now, for those Jen-lovers who are going to start yelling at me immediately, let me say this for the record: I don't think this went down. I think Star Magazine is running this cover because Uncool Bermuda Triangle covers are their bread and butter, and because Chelsea Handler's coked-out rage and senile "jokes" have give the tabloids a new angle to play with. That being said, what did you Jennifer fans expect? Aniston's new butt-buddy Chelsea goes on an explosive (and dated) tirade against Jolie just days after a sandy, Mojito-soaked vacay with Aniston? Of course this is the story. Of course people are going to go with the "Aniston can't get over her ex" angle - because the whole incident makes Aniston look like SHE'S NOT OVER IT. That she's still talking about it. That she's still obsessing about it, going on six years later. How do we know she's not obsessing over Brad and Angelina? Her friend is still obsessing about it, after all.

Celine Dion reveals her twin boys, Nelson & Eddy

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 07:58 AM PST

hello

Celine Dion has just revealed her twin baby boys Nelson and Eddy to Hello Magazine and People Magazine this week. Celine got the full Hello cover - and only a sidebar for People, who must have worked around the clock on their Elizabeth Edwards cover story. Anyway, Celine's fraternal boys look like… babies. They're only like five weeks old - you can barely tell what they're going to look like at this point. But Celine gave a great interview… and I just love her. I want the best for her. She deserves it.

Céline Dion takes PEOPLE all over her Jupiter Island, Fla., mansion for a collection of intimate photos with 6-week-old fraternal twins Eddy and Nelson in our new issue, on newsstands Friday. Lounging on the porch, in the pool, in the family bed – the twins, born Oct. 23, are getting more than comfy their new home, as Dion and husband René Angélil celebrate their expanded family after six difficult rounds of IVF.

The couple’s older son, René-Charles, 9, also seems thrilled with his new siblings, cradling them in a mound of red pillows in one photo.

In the story, Dion talks about the pregnancy, birth, life with the newborns and her plans for easing into rehearsals for her new Las Vegas show, which kicks off March 15.

“The love and what I feel inside, what we have accomplished – I don’t know how to put it into words,” Dion says. “It’s bigger than life itself.”

"They're so cute, it's incredible," said Celine. "When we look at them we can't believe it, and to have them here at home – it's all we could wish for."

The boys, who were born when Celine was 35 weeks pregnant, were in a neonatal intensive unit for several days, but they have all since returned to their home in Florida.

"They're feeding every two hours now," said Celine. "It's going well. I don't get a lot of sleep, yes, for sure I'm tired, but that's what I want."

Celine, 42, also spoke about the heartbreak of having originally being pregnant with triplets.

"For a week we thought we had triplets, but sadly on the next visit to the doctors we only heard two heartbeats," she revealed.

"That little baby decided to leave the space for the two others and to say goodbye to us. It happened very early during the pregnancy. But still, it shocks you."

Before this pregnancy, Celine and Rene had spent years trying for a sibling for their nine-year-old son Rene-Charles. Celine endured six rounds of IVF and suffered a miscarriage.

Rene says that the twins arrival was understandably emotional. "We were crying, he said. "Even though we didn't speak to each other, we were both thinking about the time it took [to conceive them]."

The couple also spoke about the names they have chosen for their sons, Eddy and Nelson. "The idea is to have our sons be inspired by somebody that has the same name," said Rene, 68, who also has three grown-up children from two previous marriages.

"We met with Nelson Mandela and spent some time with him at his house when we started Celine's world tour," he said. "Eddy is an homage to Eddy Marnay," he said, referring to the French songwriter who wrote Celine's first five albums, and had also written for Edith Piaf and Nana Mouskouri.

"He was like a father to me," said Celine. "He passed away six years ago. He was such a gentle man, everybody loved him."

[From Hello Magazine & People]

At the end of the day, I still find Nelson and Eddy to be extremely dated and unfashionable names, but at least Celine's kids don't have everybody's else's name, you know? There are worst things than being named after Nelson Mandela, or someone your mom loved like a father. It's all good - and I'm glad to see Celine looking so healthy too. Bless her.

L&S: Kate Middleton’s family & drunken shenanigans threaten the royal marriage

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 07:33 AM PST

1051-cover-pr

You might get the impression from Kate Middleton is a total lush and a complete embarrassment for the royal family from this Life & Style cover. You would be wrong - the story seems to be about Kate's BROTHER James being the drunk one. And how he was so blitzed one night that he pissed in a public garden. Which just makes him kind of funny, in my opinion. Anyway, now that Kate is set to join "The Firm" it seems like people are coming out of the woodwork with "embarrassing" photos of her, and some are even rehashing that incident with Kate's sketchy uncle.

Four months before she’s set to walk down the aisle and marry Prince William, Kate Middleton has reason to panic—photos of her family during a messy, drunken night out last year have surfaced. The photos, exclusively obtained by Life & Style, were taken on April 15, 2009, after the Middleton family — including Kate's younger sister, Pippa, her brother James, her father, Michael, and her mother, Carole — walked from their London home to the nearby club Raffles, a private members-only lounge for London's ultrawealthy jetset crowd, to celebrate James' birthday.

According to an onlooker, James already seemed intoxicated on his way to the club.

"You could tell from the way he was walking that James had been drinking," an observer tells Life & Style. After just a half an hour inside the club, he emerged for a smoke break. He was so out of it, he shocked bystanders by urinating through a railing into a historic, private garden. And although the family lived just steps away from the club, James had to be escorted home in a taxi.

"Katie was mortified and tried to keep people from taking his picture," the onlooker recalls, "but he didn't seem to care."

The queen is likely to be furious at the Middletons.

"Now that Kate is joining her family, those photos are more embarrassing than when they were originally taken," a royal insider tells Life & Style. According to the insider, the queen wants the youngsters to party in private. "She's even asked William and Kate to cut down on their evenings out because she doesn't think it looks right for them to be partying so much during a recession."

Kate's families' behavior is a constant hovering threat to her reputation. Gary Goldsmith, Kate's uncle on her mother's side, caused her enormous embarrassment when he was caught offering cocaine and escort services to an undercover reporter in July 2009. The family shunned him, but Life & Style has learned he's since worked his way back into their good graces. In fact a royal insider confirms, "He's set to be invited to the wedding."

[From Life & Style]

While I'm generally not the biggest fan of Kate, even I think she's pretty much the least scandalous person in the UK at this point. Is this all they've got on her? Some drunk photos, a dodgy uncle and a brother who pisses in public gardens? That's so tame - and part of the reason I don't care for Kate. She's just so bland.

Oh, but it is a good idea for Kate and William to stop partying and clubbing all the time. They're not kids anymore, you know? It also might be a great idea for them to stop talking nine vacations a year too!

Speaking of, Kate made this week's Us Weekly cover too. The story looks…zzzz….

Stephen Moyer and Alex Skarsgard get frisky for charity

It’s sad but until I saw these drool worthy photos of Alex Skarsgard and Stephen Moyer kissing (sort of) and wearing doofy shirts for charity, I’d almost forgotten about True Blood! I’ve read all the books (the last one sucked!) seen all the shows and the new season isn’t coming out for over a half a year. They need to do something to keep the fans interested, and this photoshoot might be just the trick. The thinking women’s vamps wore shirts designed by a True Blood fanclub site after a friendly competition to raise money for charity. The battle was fierce and close, with Stephen narrowly beating out Alex to earn $35,043 for Gulf Aid. Alex raised $34,223 for his charity, SOS Children’s Villages. Moyers may have had the edge by offering random prize giveaways for donations including signed DVDs and a signed script. In the end “Team Bill” won and Moyers got to pick the shirts the two wore for this photo.

Bill Compton narrowly beat out the Viking Eric Northman by only $829. Together, both teams competing in the Battle Of The Fang raised almost $70,000 for charity! As Bill Compton is the reining king, Stephen Moyer got to choose the t-shirts himself. As you can see, his chosen shirt reads, "I Like My Bitches Blonde" while Alex's says simply, "Bill's Bitch!" Both these dudes got a sense of humor, is all we're sayin'.

Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgård are amazed at the amount of contributions that their fans have donated. Alex, Stephen, Gulf Aid and SOS Children's Villages all want to thank everyone who participated in The Battle Of The Fang. The Battle has surpassed all our expectations!

The success of The Battle Of The Fang has once again proven that True Blood fans, no matter which team they're on, are the best! We'd also like to thank all of the fans who donated, Stephen Moyer and Alex Skarsgård for playing along and alexskarsgard.net, our partner in the competition, for all their hard work.

[From TrueBlood-News.com]

That’s so nice that they helped out a fan site and charity! Next time they need to auction off video of the two of them making out. You know that would earn over a million in donations. Also, how hungover do they look here?

Carey Mulligan tells Elle UK that a doctor tried to make her do Botox

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 07:12 AM PST

Here are the two covers for Carey Mulligan's appearance as Elle UK's January cover girl. The photos are by David Slijper. I think the images are very striking, and I love my girl and everything, but something about the angle and the hair is aging her. I don't hate it though - Carey is one of those Cate Blanchett-types who can play anything from teenager to 50 years old. Speaking of Carey looking old-ish, that's kind of what the cover interview is about. Carey describes an incident where a doctor (!) told her that she should Botox. For. Real.

At just 25, Carey Mulligan is one of Hollywood’s freshest-faced stars. Yet the British actress was told to get Botox in order to look more youthful, she has disclosed.

Of her visit to a Los Angeles dermatologist, Mulligan recalled: “I said, ‘I have some lines here under my eye and they’re annoying, what can you do?’ He looked at my face and said, ‘We’ll just drop some Botox in here and here…’.

“I said, ‘What the —-? I’m only 25, are you joking?’ So I can’t move my face? Isn’t that, well, the antithesis of what I’m trying to do as an actress? Only in LA would someone try and give you Botox when you’re 25 years old.”

The star of An Education has won plaudits for her quirky style but claims to feel “intensely uncomfortable” on the red carpet.

“I’ve never felt like a sexy person. I’ve always felt like a sensible person. I’ve always felt absurd wearing anything revealing,” she told Elle magazine.

The actress also confided that she loathes her much-copied gamine hairstyle. “I hate my hair. After An Education, I had a small part in Michael Mann’s film Public Enemies and he wanted me to dye it white blonde, and it wrecked my hair. Literally, ruined it. It was falling apart, fried. So I had to cut it off. I cried.”

Although tipped to land a second Oscar nomination for Never Let Me Go, Mulligan admitted to disappointment at missing out on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, the forthcoming Stieg Larsson adaptation. “I auditioned for it but I didn’t get the part,” she said, adding that watching another actress play the part would be “agony”.

[From The Telegraph]

The old saying in Hollywood is that you should never tell what roles you passed on (or what size a man's dong is), but I think saying what parts you auditioned for and lost is fine. It actually makes me like her even more thinking that she's so emotionally invested in roles she only auditioned for.

As for the Botox thing - WTF, doctors? She's cute as a button, she can move her face, and she's a great little actress. Not all actresses have to come from The Starlet Starter Kit. Dumbasses.

Britney loves Walmart, enthuses about her birthday trip to Mexico

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 06:47 AM PST

fp_6223131_spears_britney_f
Britney Spears and boyfriend Jason Trawick went on vacation to Mexico to celebrate Britney’s 29th birthday. This comes on the heels of the scandal over the most-likely fake recordings of a Britney sound-alike telling her first ex husband, Jason Alexander, that Trawick was abusive. Maybe Britney and Jason had this whole trip planned before the recordings came out, or maybe they did it as a response to that and a sign of togetherness. Either way, they’re using this vacation for as much positive PR as possible. US Weekly has a whole story in their upcoming issue about their romantic getaway, and People had details yesterday. It just seems too heavy-handed to me when it was obvious to most people that those tapes of Britney were fake. She has a lot of fans though and her people want to make it seem like she’s fine after all she went through a couple years ago. Here’s US Weekly’s story:

Days after Star magazine and Radaronline published fake reports about Jason Trawick’s alleged physical abuse of girlfriend Britney Spears, the content pop singer and her beau of nearly two years were a world away from Hollywood: at a private, $5,000 per-night villa in Conchas Chinas, Mexico, as revealed in the new Us Weekly, out now.

The occasion? Spears’ 29th birthday Dec. 2 — and her former agent Trawick, 39, surprised the singer with a red-velvet cake shipped from L.A. and much more.

The happy duo shrugged off the false abuse rumor for their luxe Puerta Vallarta trip. “They did not allow it to get them down,” an insider tells Us.

In fact, Spears tells Us exclusively: “My birthday weekend away with Jason was amazing. Best birthday of my life!”

For much more details and pics from their romantic, luxe birthday getaway, pick up the new Us Weekly, out today.

[From US Weekly]

Yeah, we get it, they’re doing great and all. I’d be more likely to believe it if they went to Mexico and we weren’t privy to the details afterwards.

Meanwhile Britney went to a Walmart in LA with her bodyguard yesterday. She was dressed appropriately in a low cut silk top with a leopard print bra that was only partially visible. Her hair and makeup also looked decent and she looked thrilled to be out shopping. She’d do much more to further her image if she’d look as put together and happy as this on most outings.

Ashton Kutcher explains why he tweets “sweet nothings” to Demi

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 06:38 AM PST

Photo by: Dennis Van Tyne/starmaxinc.com 2010 11/4/10 Ashton Kutcher at a press conference on Human Trafficking at the United Nations. (NYC) Photo via Newscom

Ashton Kutcher has written an essay for Harper's Bazaar proclaiming the value of tweeting "sweet nothings" to one's partner. It's all just some gigantic "LOOK AT ME, I LOVE MY WIFE" piece designed to make us forget all of his screwing around with club chicks. It's also designed to make Ashton seem like he's some kind of ground-breaking savant because he was on the forefront of the Twitter revolution. Oh, and it also works as an advertisement for his new film, No Strings Attached. Of course. It serves many purposes. Sidenote: I offered this story to CB and she was all "Jesus, I hate this guy, he's such a tool." The lesson? No one's buying it, Ashton. Anyway, the full piece is here at Harper's Bazaar, but I put in the complete piece below. It's called: "Ashton Kutcher: Has Texting Killed Romance? Ashton Kutcher asks, in an Internet era, are we losing our ability to really communicate?"

I was shooting a scene in my new film, No Strings Attached, in which I say to Natalie Portman, “If you miss me … you can’t text, you can’t e-mail, you can’t post it on my [Facebook] wall. If you really miss me, you come and see me.” I began to think of all of the billions of intimate exchanges sent daily via fingers and screens, bouncing between satellites and servers. With all this texting, e-mailing, and social networking, I started wondering, are we all becoming so in touch with one another that we are in danger of losing touch?

It used to be that boy met girl and they exchanged phone numbers. Anticipation built. They imagined the entire relationship before a call ever happened. The phone rang. Hearts pounded. “Hello?” Followed by a conversation that lasted two hours but felt like two minutes and would be examined with friends for two weeks. If all went well, a date was arranged. That was then.

Now we exchange numbers but text instead of calling because it mitigates the risks of early failure and eliminates those deafening moments of silence. Now anticipation builds. Bdoop. “It was NICE meeting u.” Both sides overanalyze every word. We talk to a friend, an impromptu Cyrano: “He wrote nice in all caps. What does that mean? What do I write back?” Then we write a response and delete it 10 times before sending a message that will appear 2 care, but not 2 much. If all goes well, a date will be arranged.

Whether you like it or not, the digital age has produced a new format for modern romance, and natural selection may be favoring the quick-thumbed quip peddler over the confident, ice-breaking alpha male. Or maybe we are hiding behind the cloak of digital text and spell-check to present superior versions of ourselves while using these less intimate forms of communication to accelerate the courting process. So what’s it really good for?

There is some argument about who actually invented text messaging, but I think it’s safe to say it was a man. Multiple studies have shown that the average man uses about half as many words per day as women, thus text messaging. It eliminates hellos and goodbyes and cuts right to the chase. Now, if that’s not male behavior, I don’t know what is. It’s also great for passing notes. There is something fun about sharing secrets with your date while in the company of others. Think of texting as a modern whisper in your lover’s ear.

Sending sweet nothings on Twitter or Facebook is also fun. In some ways, it’s no different than sending flowers to the office: You are declaring your love for everyone to see. Who doesn’t like to be publicly adored? Just remember that what you post is out there and there’s some stuff you can’t unsee.

But the reality is that we communicate with every part of our being, and there are times when we must use it all. When someone needs us, he or she needs all of us. There’s no text that can replace a loving touch when someone we love is hurting.

We haven’t lost romance in the digital age, but we may be neglecting it. In doing so, antiquated art forms are taking on new importance. The power of a handwritten letter is greater than ever. It’s personal and deliberate and means more than an e-mail or text ever will. It has a unique scent. It requires deciphering. But, most important, it’s flawed. There are errors in handwriting, punctuation, grammar, and spelling that show our vulnerability. And vulnerability is the essence of romance. It’s the art of being uncalculated, the willingness to look foolish, the courage to say, “This is me, and I’m interested in you enough to show you my flaws with the hope that you may embrace me for all that I am but, more important, all that I am not.”

[From Harper's Bazaar]

Ugh. God, Ashton is such a douche. What's next, Demi is going to write an essay pontificating about the genius of tweeting bikini photos of yourself? Whatever. I'm happy to ignore these two.

Michelle Williams in Azzaro for the Blue Valentine premiere: cute or meh?

Posted: 08 Dec 2010 06:24 AM PST

fp_6224753_bluevalentine_premiere_nyc_08_11

Last night was yet another screening/premiere for Blue Valentine. This one was notable, however, because both Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling (the two leads) actually showed up. Ryan is hypnotizing me with his gorgeous eyes. I can barely see past them, honestly. Michelle is… ugh. The hair. The hair looks slightly better, but it's still bad overall. The dress is Azzaro - and while I have to applaud her for not doing the old-lady, cream-of-wheat style, but I don't love the dress. Still, the overall effect is rather cute.

By the way, unless you live in a major city, you probably won't get the chance to see Blue Valentine, because of its NC-17 rating (most theatres don't want to touch it). However, now that some people have seen it, we're getting a better idea as to why the subject matter is so "controversial" that it needs an explicit rating: oral sex. Specifically, Michelle gets hers. What is it about a female being pleasured that makes stuffy old dudes whip out their bitch? Anyway, PopEater has a lengthy discussion about why Blue Valentine won't be seen by many, and why the ratings system is screwed up, etc. Just beware though - that piece is full of SPOILERS for both Blue Valentine and Black Swan.

Jenny McCarthy dumps her famewhore body-building boyfriend Jason Toohey

Back in August, Jenny McCarthy rolled out her new boyfriend, Jason Toohey. Media outlets had to search for photos of him - and we found them on his body-building page, where he took to the interwebs to show off his extremely sketchy body. Besides "professional gym rat" and "the founder of Eyedews" (for real), Jason didn't do much besides be Jenny's silent boyfriend. After the official People Magazine roll-out, they weren't even seen together all that often. It just seemed like Jason was Jenny's "just for now" bone. And now it's over! SOB.

Just four months into her new relationship, Jenny McCarthy has broken up with boyfriend Jason Toohey, In Touch can exclusively reveal. Blond beauty Jenny, who began dating the Las Vegas-based body builder soon after her shocking split from Jim Carrey, kicked Jason, 35, to the curb after she presented at the American Music Awards on November 21.

"He couldn't handle her fame and the amount of attention she received, so she ended it," an insider explains.
