Tragedy Hits Oslo, Norway

Posted: 22 Jul 2011 12:51 PM PDT

This is so horrible and so sad.

A bomb went off in Oslo, Norway today, ripping through buildings including the Prime Minister's office.

Horribly, that's not the only incident. Just outside the city, a man dressed as a police officer opened fire at youngsters at a youth camp connected to the ruling party.

It looks like the situations are connected, and sadly it has left at least 7 dead and more injured.

Police Inspector Bjoern Erik Sem-Jacobsen said a suspect in the shooting has been arrested. He said the gunman, who was dressed as a police officer, pulled out a gun and started firing into the crowd of youths. There were unconfirmed reports that five people were wounded in that shooting.

A square in Oslo, where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded, was covered in twisted metal, shattered glass and documents expelled from surrounding buildings, which house government offices and the headquarters of some of Norway's leading newspapers. Most of the windows in the 20-floor high-rise where Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and his administration work were shattered.

The damage in downtown Oslo was the result of "two or more bombs," but there aren't many specifics yet.

The Prime Minister, Jens Stoltenberg, who was working from home today luckily, has urged the country not to be afraid, because this kind of violence strives to strike fear.

Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has urged Norwegians to not cave in to fear caused by a bombing in downtown Oslo that killed seven people and a shooting at a youth camp outside the capital.

We support that thought, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't show caution. Be alert and BE SAFE!

It's just absolutely despicable that things like this happen, and there are humans out there capable of doing it. Absolutely atrocious.

Our thoughts go out to everyone who has been rocked by this horrible happening.

Top Three Networks Shelling Out Big Bucks In Competition For Casey Anthony Interview

Posted: 22 Jul 2011 12:45 PM PDT

Yuck.

We're very sad to report that Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, is negotiating with NBC, ABC, and CBS to determine who will pay the most for the female OJ's first exclusive interview!

According to sources, there is a "big price tag for the interview," they are also offering to license photos and other material, and so far, it seems like ABC and NBC are the frontrunners, with the latter taking the lead.

As much as we're aware how high-profile this case was, we're pretty disgusted to think that this woman is managing to make a profit off of her child's murder, and worse yet, that these networks are willing to pay her to do so.

We'd personally prefer that she just disappear and leave the public eye forever, but we doubt that's going to happen for a very long time.

So sad.

Bristol Palin's Message About Teen Pregnancy

Posted: 22 Jul 2011 12:30 PM PDT

Thanks for taking the time to do this, Bristol!

Check out the video (above) of Bristol Palin talking about teen pregnancy with HLN's Dr. Drew.

We think it's great that she's using her experience as a teen mom as an opportunity to warn/educate others about the realities of being a teenage mother.

What do U think of Bristol's message? Do U agree with what she's saying here?

Jennifer Aniston Meets Justin BF Theroux's Fam!

Posted: 22 Jul 2011 12:20 PM PDT

Things are better than ever for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux!

After promoting Horrible Bosses in London, Jen and Justin went out to Shoreditch House where cousin Louis Theroux met up with them.

According to an insider, Louis was a fan of Jennifer's:

Louis obviously approved [of Jennifer] It looked like they were having a great time, and they all seemed instantly at ease with each other. Justin looked proud of Jen and seemed quite manly and protective.

Good! This guy may actually be the lasting one for Jen. We hope so. We'd love to see him pre-plan a pre-proposal.

He should totally do it on Mulholland Dr looking out over the city. We think that would be totes cute!

Mattel Co-Founder/Husband Of 'Barbie' Creator Passes Away

Posted: 22 Jul 2011 12:00 PM PDT

Sad.

95-year-old co-founder of Mattel toy company Elliot Handler passed away last night from heart failure.

Handler's wife Ruth created Barbie back in the 1950s, and the doll was named after the couples' daughter Barbara.

Our thoughts go out to Elliot's family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Carey Mulligan is pretty cool too.

Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Will Stream On YouTube!

Posted: 22 Jul 2011 11:30 AM PDT

Exciting!

Back in April and May, we heard the lineups for Lollapalooza 2011 and Austin City Limits, and we were impressed with the roster of artists for both events.

We COULD tell you everyone who's performing again, but now you'll be able to find out for yourself when you STREAM both events LIVE on YouTube!!!

Here's what Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell had to say about it:

"For those of us who can't make it — we have YouTube. Be a voyeur to this year's Lollapalooza. Watch as musicians offer their souls and the crowd devours them. You just may forget that you aren't really there."

Here's what YouTube's music marketing programs manager Dana Vetter had to say bout it the streaming deals:

"This allows us to showcase multiple artists each day, which is really exciting to users, and we can hope to expect longer viewing times from people who catch one set and trickle into the next one."

"In the past 12 to 18 months, we've come a really long way in terms of live music. There's a huge audience connected with these things. The trajectory of live music has come a long way and we hope to see it continue."

And even if you don't get to watch the performances live, you'll be able to check 'em out for four weeks following the festivals! Awesome!

What do U think about this? Will U attend Lollapalooza and/or Austin City Limits via YouTube?

Roseanne Sings The National Anthem - And Doesn't Eff It Up!

Posted: 22 Jul 2011 11:20 AM PDT

After 21 years - redemption!

During last night's episode of Roseanne's Nuts, the comedienne somehow managed to convince a Little League to let her sing The Star-Spangled Banner, which, you may or may not remember, has been a big no-no since her disastrous performance of the national anthem during a MLB game back in 1990!

But we're delighted to report that she actually did a pretty admirable job!

Ch-ch-check out the performance (above)!

A lovely reminder that it's never too late to make something right!

Well done, gurl!
