P!nk Reveals Why She Named Her Daughter Willow Sage

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 05:30 PM PDT

A couple of weeks ago we got our first look at P!nk and Carey Hart‘s newborn baby girl Willow Sage and today we not only get another look at the little darling but we get to hear from P!nk herself about Willow‘s birth and how she got her name. It’s a very sweet read, yes, but the new photo below of Willow is just the cutest thing you’ll prolly ever see.

Pink and husband Carey Hart thought they had it all planned out when it came to welcoming their first child. "We watched Ricki Lake's documentary The Business of Being Born early on. It was so enlightening and empowering," the new mom tells PEOPLE. "We took all kinds of classes and decided to work with midwives at The Sanctuary … I was really looking forward to the whole rite of passage — giving birth perfectly present, unmedicated, in the way nature intended." However, that was before daughter Willow Sage made her own agenda known, arriving on June 2 via a Cesarean section following two nights of labor. "She was in the frank breech position, which is head up with her legs up by her head in a pike position. We tried everything to turn her around," Pink, 31, reveals. "Turns out this little girl had other plans — she is my daughter, after all." "It all turned out perfectly in the end, even though it wasn't what we intended, because she is healthy and happy and so am I," the singer adds. "We'll go for our natural birth next time, for sure." Deciding on the name Willow Sage for their newborn was particularly heartfelt for Pink, who turned to her love of nature for inspiration. "The willow is my favorite tree. I grew up near one. It's the most flexible tree in nature and nothing can break it — no wind, no elements," she explains. "It can bend and withstand anything. I love that sentiment. I want that for her." "Sage is cleansing and sacred," the Grammy-winner continues. "And it sounded great together. It doesn't hurt that her last name is Hart — flexible cleansed heart."

Too. Freakin’. Cute. Willow Sage is a very lucky little girl to have such cool parents. You can read the rest of P!nk‘s account of the first days with Willow HERE. It’s a really adorable read. Love :D

Lenny Kravitz Does ‘Details’ Magazine

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 04:30 PM PDT

Musician turned actor Lenny Kravitz is featured in the new issue of Details magazine. In addition to promoting his new album (titled Black and White America), he also talks a bit about his family and his upcoming film roles … particularly the role of Cinna in The Hunger Games. Can you believe that Lenny never even heard of The Hunger Games book series before he got offered the part? ‘Tis true … but he doesn’t want you to hate him for that. Click below to read some excerpts from Lenny‘s interview with Details mag.

On identifying himself race-wise: "If I have to fill out a form that asks what race I am, I check both boxes."

On his daughter stealing his old outfits: "My daughter Zoë has a lot of my stuff. She took all my boas from the Mama Said era. They were in storage, and I yelled at her, "Don't steal my boas!" She laughed and said, "Those words would not come out of most fathers' mouths."

On announcing in 2004 that he would be celibate until he got married: "Sorry, man, I'm not going to deal with that question. I said it, and it just got blown way out of proportion."

Does he want to get married again?: "Oh, most definitely. Have I experienced enough as a single man? Yes. Yes, I have."

On getting the role of Cinna in The Hunger Games: “I honestly hadn’t heard of them before the director called me. I hope the fans don’t hate me for that. He had seen my work in Precious and called and offered me the part of Cinna, who is the stylist for the main character, Katniss. He saw how I played a caregiver in Precious and figured I might be good for Cinna. I didn’t have to audition, so I’m lucky.”

I love Lenny Kravitz. Despite the fact that he didn’t know about The Hunger Games before he got the part, I’m sure he’s caught up and ready to go. He is a great actor … I loved him in Precious so, I have no worries about him playing the part. I love how he sounds like the coolest dad ever. Lenny is the man, no question. More magazines should be featuring him cuz I think far too many people sleep on his talent.

OMG … love this so much. Björk is, without question, a musical genius … I am so excited for her new album. This issue of Dazed & Confused sounds like a must read for me. She looks fab on the cover … I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

Prince William & Kate Middleton Go Boat Racing In Canada

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 01:57 PM PDT

Prince William and Kate Middleton continue to enjoy all the fun that Canada has to offer and spent part of their weekend participating in a dragon boat race on Prince Edward Island. Wills and Kate were on opposite teams … and he won. But in Kate‘s defense, I’m sure she just felt sorry for him and decided to let him win to save face :)

It started with some friendly rivalry and ended with a consoling hug from the winning prince. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went head to head in a dragon boat race across Dalvay Lake in Canada Monday. The royal couple, who enjoy battling it out in tennis and other sports, showed off their competitive spirits at the Prince Edward Island boat race, in which they lead teams of local athletes. Asked who was going to win, William told PEOPLE, “We are. Of course!” When Kate approached with her team, she was less certain. Asked if she would win, the duchess replied: “Not sure about that. I’m feeling slightly nervous.” Kate, in open-necked sweatshirt and slim navy trousers, was asked by photographers if she would stand at the bow of the boat the whole way. “I’ll try to!” she answered. At the end of the race, it was William’s team that came in first by a third of a length. William gave Kate a hug as they stepped off the jetty, but showed no signs of regretting his victory. “No chivalry!” he said as he accepted the prize of a bottle of champagne.

I gotta say … I’m loving Will and Kate‘s Excellent Adventure. I mean, I know it’s kinda work for them but it looks like a fun holiday as well. I can’t wait to see what they get up to next.

All Decked Out

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 12:39 PM PDT

The 4th of July is a day filled with fireworks, BBQs and the general outdoors … none of which I partook in at all yesterday. I got wrapped up in computer work yesterday, which got stretched out by my spending an inordinate amount of time DJing the I ♥ The 80′s room on turntable.fm, and … well … that was my day. On the plus side I managed to get a lot of work done but on the down side, I sat in front of my computer all day/afternoon/night long.

In addition to getting some real work done, I also managed to rack up enough Turntable points to become a “DJ superstar”. LOL! Yes, now I look like DeadMau5 on Turntable ;) Today, tho, I’m getting out of the house … David and I are meeting up with Emma and Josh at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA to see my Detroit Tigers play the Anaheim Angels. I haven’t been to a Tigers game in ages, not since Detroit a couple of years ago so I’m excited. Summer is in full swing … and it’s glorious!

Happy Tuesday!!

The Justin Bieber Issue Of ‘Vanity Fair’ Was The Worst-Selling In 12 Years

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 11:02 AM PDT

Earlier this year, Vanity Fair magazine made the curious decision to put tween popstar Justin Bieber on the cover of their magazine … presumably in the hopes that Beiber‘s legion of devoted fans would shell out for multiple copies of the mag … but, alas, they were wrong. According to a new report out today, Bieber‘s issue of Vanity Fair is the magazine’s worst-selling issue in over a decade! Yikes!!

Note to magazine editors: Think twice before booking Justin Bieber. Vanity Fair's February Bieber cover is on track to become the worst-selling issue for the Condé Nast monthly in 12 years and one of the top three worst sellers for the magazine since Graydon Carter took over as editor in chief in 1992. The Bieber cover has sold 246,000 copies, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations' Rapid Report. The ABC Rapid Report data is submitted directly by publishers but has yet to be audited by ABC, so the figure could be slightly adjusted. But if the number holds true, the Bieber cover will be Vanity Fair's biggest bomb since Will Smith graced a July 1999 cover while atop a black stallion to advertise the movie "Wild, Wild West." The Smith cover sold 202,701 copies at the newsstand, according to ABC data. The only other cover that has sold below the 246,000 threshold during Carter's reign was the July 1993 one featuring Harrison Ford, which sold 243,000 copies. The February cover featured Bieber smothered in kisses in an issue that also included stories on Julian Assange, The Huffington Post and Warren Buffett. Through May, Vanity Fair is down about 5 percent at the newsstand, averaging 342,000 sales an issue, according to ABC's Rapid Report. But Bieber wasn't bad news for Vanity Fair alone. His October 2010 Teen Vogue cover — presumably tailored for a more ideal demographic for the 17-year-old superstar — sold 121,054 issues, roughly 12 percent below Teen Vogue's 2010 average, according to ABC data. And it's not just the monthlies, either. In April 2010, People featured a Bieber cover — "ALL ABOUT JUSTIN BIEBER" shouted the headline — that sold 961,762 copies, which represents a 25 percent dip below average sales and was the third worst seller for the weekly all of last year, according to ABC data. Bieber also appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone and US Weekly earlier this year, but Wenner Media has yet to submit 2011 newsstand results to ABC. So what's up with the apparent Bieber cover bust? "Who knew 12-year-olds didn't buy magazines?" said a Vanity Fair spokeswoman.

LMAOOO!! This is hilarious. To be honest, tho, I’m actually surprised. I figured Bieber fans would literally run out and buy up every magazine they could that featured their idol. I guess with the popularity of the Internets among youngsters, there is no need to buy hard copy magazines when you can have high resolution scans for free on your computer. In my day, I’d be buying up multiple copies of Bop, Teen Beat, etc. but … I suppose that’s a bygone era for teenybopper fans.

Comedy Central Is Planning To Roast Charlie Sheen

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 10:24 AM PDT

Comedy Central has hit the jackpot with the announcement that Charlie Sheen will be the guest of honor at their next celebrity roast. In previous years, Comedy Central has roasted Pamela Anderson, David Hasselhoff, Joan Rivers and others. But this Fall, they’ll be roasting the very trainwrecky Charlie Sheen … and get this … the show will air on the same night that Ashton Kutcher will make his debut as Sheen‘s replacement on Two and a Half Men! Um, that’s kind of brilliant.

Charlie Sheen is coming back to TV. The actor will be roasted by Comedy Central on Sept. 10 in Los Angeles. It will air on the network on Sept. 19 — the same night Ashton Kutcher makes his debut as Sheen’s replacement on CBS and Warner Bros.’ Two and a Half Men — at 10 p.m. ET. “You could say I’ve been providing kindling for this roast for a while," says Sheen in a statement. "It’s time to light it up. It’s going to be epic." Sheen has slammed Kutcher as his replacement and said that Men will tank without him, saying, “Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer … Oh wait, so am I!! Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB…Enjoy planet Chuck [Lorre], Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.” The roast will be executive produced by Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions, who was also EP and director of the Donald Trump, David Hasselhoff, Joan Rivers and Pamela Anderson roasts.

This will be a BOON for Comedy Central, no question. It’ll also provide an opportunity for Sheen to stick it to CBS for ousting and replacing him by allowing him to steal some of Two and a Half Men‘s thunder. You will note that we haven’t been hearing from or about Charlie Sheen for a while now … which, IMHO, is intentional. If he seriously wants to have a TV career again, he is wisely keeping his insanity out of the public eye. My guess is that this roast will be treated as a tribute to “good ol’ Charlie” in an orchestrated attempt to repair his image. Yes, the roast will be raunchy … but it’ll be funny, too. Not Charlie Sheen seriously crazy funny but Let’s make fun of good ol’ Charlie and forget all of his problems funny. Brilliant move. Will any of y’all be tuning in to watch?

Beyoncé Helps NYC Celebrate The 4th Of July

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 09:33 AM PDT

Another 4th of July has come and gone here in the US but last night all of New York City was alight with rockets’ red glare and star-spangled banners. And right smack dab in the middle of all of the celebratory hoopla was a very special lady. No, not the Statue of Liberty (altho, she was there, too) … I’m talking about popstar Beyoncé. Bey was the featured performer on NBC‘s 4th of July fireworks spectacular … click below to see some photos and video of Beyoncé celebrating our nation’s independence as only she can.

She regularly wows fans with her revealing stage outfits and booty shaking dance moves. But Beyonce clearly deemed it more appropriate to dress in more formal attire as she gave a stunning performance of God Bless America at tonight’s special Macy’s Fourth of July celebration in New York. The 29-year-old singer wore a strapless floor length black gown and pink and white necklace for her two song appearance. She performed her new hit single The Best Thing I Never Had along with patriotic number God Bless The USA in front of the appreciative crowd. The concert, which took place on Liberty island, looked even more impressive against the backdrop of the Statue of Liberty. The show, which was hosted by Nick Lachey, also paid special tribute to the 125th Anniversary year of the iconic landmark. New Yorkers then celebrated Independence Day with a spectacular fireworks display.
About 40,000 shells, featuring 50 designs and 17 colours were fired over the Hudson River from six barges.

Beyoncé sounded and looked fantastic. She is the perfect singer for an event like this. You need a big voice to help America celebrate its birthday, you call Beyoncé (now that Whitney Houston is, sadly, no longer available). Great performance, yeah? Love it!

Lindsay Lohan Covers Italian ‘Vanity Fair’ Magazine

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 08:35 AM PDT

Lindsay Lohan, freshly sprung from her most recent bout of house arrest, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Italian Vanity Fair magazine. As I understand it, Lindsay was photographed just before she got sentenced to house arrest but her issue wasn’t released until now … very close to her recent birthday. Click below to check out Lindsay‘s latest VF cover and check out some photos from the accompanying spread.

Altho this article has been posted online HERE, it’s written in Italian so I can’t read a word of it. There are a lot of pretty pictures to see tho … behold:

I’m constantly amazed at how much magazine coverage Lindsay gets … I mean, what does she have to talk about in these coverstory interviews? As you may recall, Lindsay covered Vanity Fair magazine here in the US last August … back when she was trying to “reboot her career and clean up her life”. I suppose it’s more of the same in this interview as well … are you buying it? As for the photos, are you diggin’ them?

Victoria Beckham Has NOT Given Birth . . . Yet

Posted: 05 Jul 2011 07:57 AM PDT

For the past few months it was fairly widely rumored that David and Victoria Beckham were planning to give birth to their fourth child, a girl, on July 4 (presumably because a story about the Beckhams having their first US born child on Independence Day would make for a better story). Well, July 4 came and went and … no new Beckham baby. A rumor started going around that Victoria gave birth to a girl named Felicity yesterday but, alas, it’s not true. Apparently we still have about a week to wait until Baby Beckham #4 is born.

While America celebrates Independence Day it was thought that the Beckhams would be welcoming their baby girl into the world. But despite claims that Victoria Beckham had already given birth, MailOnline can confirm that the Beckhams are not expecting their daughter until next week. A spokesperson for the Beckhams told MailOnline: ‘The rumours are rubbish, Victoria has not had the baby but she will be giving birth soon.’ It was widely reported that the 37-year-old fashion designer had booked into an L.A. hospital to undergo a Caesarean section on the Fourth of July holiday.
But today David's publicist, Simon Oliveira revealed on Twitter that the couple were never expecting their baby on the American holiday. He tweeted: 'Contrary to certain reports, David and Victoria Beckham’s baby is not due today and that was never the case….' However it appears the couple’s fans were over eager and took to Twitter with rumours circulated that Victoria had given birth to a girl with details even claiming the weight and name of the baby to be 5lbs 8oz and Felicity Beckham. However the rumours were simply a false alarm and a spokesperson has told MailOnline that the Beckhams are expecting their daughter next week. In May a spokesperson for Mrs Beckham told MailOnline: ‘It is no secret that Victoria will be having her baby in the U.S. – we will not be confirming the date although early July is correct.'

It should be noted that July 12 is next week … that is the day that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt‘s twin babies Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Léon were born. It also happens to be my birthday as well ;) I’m just saying … wouldn’t it be so cool if Baby Beckham #4 was born on July 12, too? We don’t have long to wait now … Vicki B. should be bringing forth the fruit of her loins very, very soon.
