Back in May we learned that Kelly Clarkson was planning the release of a new single in July and today, July 6, we get our FIRST LISTEN of her new single Let Me Down. I know there are a lot of Kelly fans out there dying for new music (like I am) so you’re gonna wanna click below and feast your ears on her newest offering.


Oh man … LOVE this song! It’s got that same Since U Been Gone vibe in tone (not necessarily in sound). This is the Kelly Clarkson that we all fell in love with. If this is a sign of what’s to come from her new album, then I am VERY excited. Woot!! What do y’all think … do you love it?

Prince William & Kate Middleton Enjoy A Canadian Holiday

Yesterday we learned that Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are enjoying the last days of their visit to Canada this week, did a bit of dragon boat racing against one another. Today we learn that the couple did a bit more boating but under more friendly circumstances. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took a break from their royal duties to enjoy a mini holiday of downtime in the midst of their tour. Click below to see what camping looks like for a royal couple.

FacebookTweetWilliam and Catherine have been busy with official engagements while visiting Canada but the newlyweds did squeeze in some time together – alone. Included in their Tuesday itinerary was downtime away from their entourage to visit a remote spot in the country’s Northwest Territories known locally as “Honeymoon Island” for three hours of solitude among the stunning scenery. After arriving at Blachford Lake, about 100 miles north of Yellowknife, where they met with rangers and local students, the pair paddled out to the romantic spot to watch a midnight sunset and dine on a feast of local cranberries, bannock bread and caribou steaks cooked over an open campfire. The area is so far north that during summer it hardly gets dark. But at dusk, when the sun briefly disappears out of sight, William and Kate were able to enjoy what’s known as the slowest sunset on the planet. “Its real name is Eagle Island, but ever since my wedding night we’ve called it Honeymoon Island,” local Tessa Macintosh, who runs Blachford Lake Lodge with her husband, Mike Freeland, told reporters Wednesday. “When I was taken there I thought my new husband was the most romantic man on earth. I’m sure that is just how Kate must feel now.” It is the second time that the royal couple have been able to sneak away for some downtime by the water. On Canada Day, William took Kate for an afternoon row across a lake and a picnic in a log cabin.

Canada is seriously beautiful … I need to see more of it. If anything, this royal visit by Wills and Kate feels more like amazing tourism promo for Canada than anything else. It looks like they are having a magical time.

In other Wills and Kate news, a new painting of the pair has been unveiled ahead of their arrival here in the US on Friday. Artist Steven Vaughan painted this piece titled Ordinary People that features the royal couple being overlooked by an angelic Princess Diana:


While I fell the tribute has a nice sentiment to it, I can’t help but feel this painting looks gauche and a bit tacky. I will say it was nice of Vaughn to be generous with the hair on William‘s head. This painting will be on display in Beverly Hills and prints will be sold for charity. I’m not sure if this is the sort of thing that William and Kate will appreciate but … it’s not my fave tribute to to them. What do y’all think? Do we like?

Tigers In The Outfield

Last night David and I met up with Emma and Josh at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, CA to see my beloved Detroit Tigers take on the Angels in the second game of their 3 game series. While the Tigers lost 1-0, the game was really a good one … and if it wasn’t for that teeny, tiny point it would’ve been a much better game ;) We had a total blast tho. Last night was my first visit to Angels Stadium and I have to tell you, I loved it entirely. Everyone is so friendly there. Sometimes, opposing team fans are treated poorly at games like this and while I’m sure that does happen even at Angels Stadium, I saw no sign of malice at all. Angels fans are a class act and I am really looking forward to attending another game there soon.


Tonight, David and I are heading back to Anaheim, CA to see New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys in concert at the Honda Center. I’ve never seen NKOTB before so I figured, what the Hell. I hear the show is very fun so I’m excited. Any NKOTBSBers out there? Will I see you at the concert tonight?

Last week we got to see a small clip from the upcoming season premiere of The Discovery Channel‘s Man Vs. Wild which features guest star Jake Gyllenhaal traipsing around Iceland with host Bear Grylls and today we get to check out 2 really fantastic clips from the show. Natalie Portman Has Reportedly Given Her Son A Very Hebrew Name

Last month we learned that Natalie Portman and fianceé Benjamin Millepied welcomed the birth of their first born child. While we learned that the couple gave birth to a boy we have gotten no other information about the little dude since. Like, no news at all. Today, tho, we learn of a new report that claims that the name of Natalie‘s baby boy has been revealed. According to THIS site, Natalie and Ben decided to give their son the very Hebrew name of Alef.

Portman names first child Alef, like the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, not Alf, like the friendly alien on the eponymous American television show. Actress Natalie Portman’s first-born son with fiance Benjamin Millepied was given the name Alef, the Israeli television show “Good Evening with Guy Pines” report[s]. The happy parents have yet to confirm their sons birth or name after People magazine was the first to report the event. The birth took place [in June], Pines’ program reported. For Portman, 30, who was born in Jerusalem, the birth was the high point of a year marked by great personal and professional success.

I must confess, this “news” is a bit old (by a couple of weeks) but since we’ve heard nary a peep from Nat and Ben about their baby I figured this was worth sharing. Clearly, the couple want to keep their newborn baby news to themselves for as long as possible. I’m sure we’ll hear something official and hopefully see the first photo soon. As for this report, I’d LOVE it if Natalie named her son Alef. It’d be a very different, very special name. What do y’all think? Do you like the sound of Alef Portman-Millepied?

Zac Efron Bares His Hot Bod At The Beach

Last weekend we saw a few photos of High School Musical BFFs Ashley Tisdale and Zac Efron frolicking together on a beach in Malibu, CA in celebration of her birthday. The only thing wrong with those beach photos is that they were painfully free of any shirtless photos of Zac. Today, I am remedying that oversight with a batch of newer photos of Zac Efron at the beach … sans shirt. Click below to behold the bounty.


See … now this is more like it. I think there should be, like, a law that Zac Efron is not allowed to go to the beach unless he’s showing off some skin. Top or bottom, you know, whatevs. Ah, Summer … how I love thee.

Paul ‘Pauly D’ Delvecchio Celebrates His Birthday At The ‘Jersey Shore’

Late last week we learned the surprising news that Jersey Shore castmember Vinny Guardino packed his bags and moved OUT of the Jersey Shore house and left the show altogether just a few days after the cast convened in Seaside Heights, NJ to begin filming season 5 of the show. Today, in happier news, we learn that Vinny‘s departure has not put a damper on the JS festivities. Paul Pauly D Delvecchio was joined by family and friends yesterday to celebrate his birthday … which, undoubtedly, will be captured on film for the show.


While the cast can sometimes be generally annoying, I think it’s safe to say that Pauly D is everyone’s fave JS castmember. He just seems like a really fun, really nice guy. It’s nice to see that Pauly isn’t letting Vinny rain on his parade. Clearly, Pauly is going to enjoy his time in the Jersey Shore for as long as possible. Let’s send all our Birthday Lurve to Pauly D today!

Jessica Biel & Justin Timberlake Reportedly Give Their Relationship Another Try

Back in March we learned the sadish news that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake broke off their relationship after they unsuccessfully breaking up a few times before throughout their 4ish year romance. Today, according to a new story from US Weekly, we are hearing that Justica are reportedly “hanging out” again in an attempt to rekindle their romance. Is the couple famous for being on-again/off-again trying to be on-again again?

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel might have broken up in March, but a source tells Us Weekly their 4-year-romance hasn’t fizzled out just yet. Timberlake, 30, and Biel, 29, are “quietly seeing each other again,” says a source. “They have been talking the whole time and decided to give it another shot. Jessica really wanted to get back together with him and Justin realized single life is not what it’s cracked up to be.” On July 3, the couple shared pork tacos at the Black Hoof restaurant in Toronto. But another insider cautions reconciliation won’t be easy and adds that for now, “they’re just spending time together and taking things slowly.”

Hmmm. Now, just because a couple of ex-lovers are seen having dinner together, I’m not sure we should necessarily count on a romantic reunion. I’ve managed to stay very good friends with most of my exes and there is no chance we’ll ever be anything more than just friends. That being said … Jessica and Justin have broken up a few times in the years they were together and they always got back together again. Maybe the split back in March was just another of their hiccups? I guess time will tell … but for now, let’s just wait and see. What do y’all think … would you like to see Justica get back together?
