Kevin Hart had a major birthday weekend partying it up with The Carters, his girlfriend Eniko, and his hometown of Philly.  Check the pics inside, plus the first pics from the kick off of "Ride Along 2" filming....

While celebrating his 35th birthday yesterday, comedian Kevin Hart seemed to be having the best weekend ever.  The TLAM2 star hit the On The Run tour Saturday night in his hometown of Philadelphia, and was spotted chopping it up backstage with Jay Z.  He said afterwards:

The "On The Run" tour was beyond epic last night....I love surrounding myself with great people that do amazing things because that then pushes me to want more and to do more!!!! What Jay & B are doing is History people....thank you both for constantly raising the bar in entertainment!!!! They are the MVP's damn it!!!! #OnTheRunTour #History #Motivation #legendary

Jay even gave him a shout out at the start of the performance of one of his solo tracks.

His girlfriend Eniko was there too, of course.

Speaking of those two:

The twosome spent the weekend poolside and dancing it up at Kevin's birthday party Saturday night.  He posted the above video saying:

#MyBdayPartyLastNightWasUnreal #MeAndMyRibTurnedUp #happybdaytome #GottaLoveHer #FunTimes #WeDancedAllNight

Ha.  And despite catching some hate on her page, Eniko still made a public service announcement for her bae:

.. Cause your eyes are the windows to heaven, Your smile could heal a million souls.. Your love completes my existence You're the other half that makes me whole.. Happy birthday babe @kevinhart4real may we continue to share our love together.. I hope you had a memorable one.

But it was back to work this morning in Miami.  It's the first day of filming his and Ice Cube's sequel Ride Along 2.  Pics from the set:

Kevin said on his social media, "Today is Day 1 of filming Ride Along 2, I'm so excited to get this project started."

The first one was a blockbuster major hit.  And was actually good and hilarious, surprisingly. So we're sure this one will be too. Can't wait!

RETURN OF THE 90'S: K-Ci & JoJo Act A Fool In Concert + Tevin Cambell Rocks Essence Fest

If you still have dreams of letting K-Ci & JoJo sing you a verse, you might want to hear what they sound like now. Check out the Jodeci members' wild performance in L.A. this weekend, plus Tevin Campbell making a comeback at the Essence Music Festival.

At the Greek Theater in L.A. this weekend, K-Ci & JoJo performed...and looked like this. K-Ci was hopping on the shoulders of security and riding around the audience while trying his damndest to hit a note. And the brothers did their version of a tribute to the late Bobby Womack while performing "If You Think You're Lonely Now".

Check out the foolery below:

Meanwhile, down in New Orleans, Tevin Campbell performed for a packed out Super Lounge at Essence Fest over the weekend. And he's still pretty much got it.

He did his hit "Can We Talk" and told the audience to stop singing because it's his song. Ha! And told them they can go ahead and chime in on the chorus.

And he rocked one of our fave songs ever, "Always In My Heart."  Nice!

It’s the 20th anniversary of Essence Fest! And last night was surely one to go down in the history books. Jill Scott, Mary J. BligeLedisi and Tank hit the main stage. Michelle Williams, 112 and Marsha Ambrosius performed their sets at the Superlounge, while caught up with Towanda and Trina Braxton, Boris Kodjoe & Nicole Ari Parker and more when you go inside…

Jill Scott (above backstage before performing) rocked the house last night on the main stage at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Ms. Jilly opened up for the Queen of Hip Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige. And of course, Jilly from Philly did not disappoint.

Showing off her snatched waist in glittery bell bottom trousers and fitted cut-out black blouse, she ran through a slew of her classics including “Golden,” The Way,” “He Loves Me (Lyzel In E Flat)” and she hit her operatic high-notes like only she could.

Peep a clip of Jilly singing “The Way” below:

Before Jill Scott hit the stage...

Tank got the ladies all hot and bothered with his single “Sex Music” followed by his hit single, “Maybe I Deserve.” He asked the audience, “Can I take my clothes off y’all?” before serenading the ladies with “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

Before leaving the stage, Tank passed along some words of wisdom to the fans saying, “God has someone for everyone and that we don’t have to rely on empty promises.”

New Orleans native Ledisi tore the house down belting out her hits “That Good Good”, “Pieces of Me” and “It’s Alright” and “I Blame You.”

Ledisi also ended her set schooling her fans saying, “Have faith, love yourself,” she said. “And be careful of who and what you allow in your circle.”

Then the headliner took the stage....

The Queen Of Hip Hop Soul stormed the stage like a hurricane in all white to open her set with her 2006 hit “Enough Crying.” The Grammy award winning songrtress ran through her catalog of tracks including “I’m Goin’ Down”, “Not Gon’ Cry”, “Share My World” and “Don’t Mind.”

Quick wardrobe change as she continued to rock the stage:

Before ending her set, she sent out a message to the fellas saying, “We expect you to have our backs and respect us. Most of all, we need to trust in you!” then closed her set with “Family Affair.”

Atlanta R&B singing group 112 took the stage at the VERIZON lounge to run threw a few of their hits.

And Marsha Ambrosius took her talents to the FORD lounge. Peep a clip from her set below: caught up with fab "R&B Diva" KeKe Wyatt at the Convention Center:
