Brit Brit Talks To Rolling Stone!

britney-spears-interview-with-rolling-stone

It's fascinating to hear her talk so in detail about the entire production! Makes you realize just how much of the creative process comes down to her!

Britney Spears recently gave an interview to Rolling Stone Magazine about her PHENOMONAL new album, Femme Fatale, and discusses not only her influences this time around, the recording process, working again with producers Max Martin and Dr. Luke, but also the artists that she's rawking out to on her own time!

Here are some HIGHlights:

On her influences for Femme Fatale:

When we first sat down to talk about Femme Fatale I knew I wanted to make a dance album that was ahead of everything else out there but unique to me which is why I was so picky with the recording process. I only wanted songs that I immediately connected to. I also wanted to make sure that this album was completely different from Circus or anything else I had ever recorded. I love Circus but I wanted something darker and edgier. I also wanted to make an album and didn't want to just record a bunch of songs and put them together. I think Femme Fatale is really connected from start to finish.

I have always been heavily involved in every album I have ever made. I'm very stubborn when it comes to recording and will only record songs I love, which is why it takes me a long time to make an album. I have to feel connected before I record and the song has to spark something inside me. Very few songs do that. I guess it's a good process because I love all of my music. I know there are a lot of artists that hate songs they recorded. I don't feel that way.

I wanted to make a fresh-sounding album for the clubs or something that you play in your car when you're going out at night that gets you excited but I wanted it to sound different from everything else out right now. I also wanted to experiment with all the different types of music I love which is why you hear a mixture of pop, hip-hop and dance throughout the album. I also really wanted to play with my voice and change up my sound here and there which was really fun.

I listen to a lot of different music from all over the world and I guess I just gravitate towards what sounds fresh and what makes me want to move. I really didn't want to record anything on this album that could be mistaken for anyone else out there. I think my first two singles, "Hold It Against Me" and "Till The World Ends," sound completely different from anything else and I think when my fans hear the rest of Femme Fatale they'll see how fresh every song is.

On Dr. Luke:

We have known each other for a really long time. Most people don't know this but we actually worked together when I was recording "Blackout." He was incredible back then and he has only gotten better over the years.

On Max Martin:

Max played a huge role on this album and he has been there since the beginning so there is such a huge level of trust. He gets exactly what I am saying when I tell him what I want and don't want musically. His melodies are incredible and he is always coming up with weird sounds, which I love. The whistle on "I Wanna Go" still gets me every time I hear it. Who would have thought of that? There is nobody I feel more comfortable collaborating with in the studio.

What she's listening to now:

I love the Peas but I also love Deadmau5. I guess I'm all over the place. Lately I have been listening to Robyn and Adele non-stop but I also love to find new artists that very few people know about. It's one of my favorite things to do because it's like being part of a secret. Friends and people around me are always showing me new artists that they love and that's how I learned about Sabi and ended up working with her on "(Drop Dead) Beautiful." I have always wanted to feature a new artist on one of my albums and she is really cool.

Amazing!

It sounds as though a lot of thought, care, and creativity were put in by all parties to ensure that the album was a success, and we think that it shows all the way through!

We couldn't be more thrilled with the direction she took!

Congratulations, gurl! Can't wait for the official release!

Christina Opens Up About Not Being Who She Was

Maybe the troubles she's going through now, from divorce to what seems to be an issue with alcohol, wouldn't exist if she was just allowed to be herself when she first started out.

Christina Aguilera wasn't really who she was when she was a teen. Unfortunately, upon landing her first record deal, she was fit into someone else's definition of herself, and it really affected her in a negative way.

She'll be getting a chance to change that for someone else, though, as she has been tapped to be on the new singing competition show The Voice.

She spoke a little about all of this:

"I was so green to the business. I was so thrilled and excited to get my first record deal that I allowed myself to sort of be molded or get labeled some things that sort of take hold and [made] me out to be what they wanted [me] to be… I think that you can only shine your best when you are able to be yourself. And that's what I want these people to be able to do."

That's such a fab outlook on your duties as a part of The Voice!

What you shouldn't forget, though, is that nothing is too late for you either! Get some of your issues sorted out and be the you you've always wanted to be!

And then give us a mind-blowing album of epic beauty with that INcredible voice of yours!

We do love you, Christina! Here's to hoping everything gets much better for you! Have fun on the show!

Yet another reason why we absolutely LOVE her!

Sandra Bullock has donated $1 million to the Red Cross to support Japan!!!

Here's what the Red Cross had to say about this wonderful gesture in a statement:

"The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for this generous support from Sandra Bullock and her family. This contribution is vitally important as the Red Cross works to provide critical assistance and essential relief items in this time of urgent need for so many people in Japan."

Previously, Sandra donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to provide support for the Haiti relief effort back in January 2010.

Just amazing! We cannot express enough how impressed we are, Sandra!

Enrique Iglesias To Host US X Factor??

Huh??

Enrique Iglesias has reportedly been approached to host the US version of X Factor, which premieres this fall.

Enrique's never hosted, well, pretty much anything before, but he has dipped his toes in the acting pond, so maybe this doesn't seem too far fetched.

Meanwhile, Simon Cowell says he plans to reveal the judges this week, promising that it will be "the best judging panel so far."

It better be, Cowell. After so much speculation and so many rumors swirling about the judging panel, we're expecting greatness.

Speaking of which, why not just ask Enrique to be a judge??

Mischa Barton Attacks Photog At SXSW

Posted: 17 Mar 2011 10:10 AM PDT

Girl, you need to settle down!

A photographer approached Mischa Barton at SXSW and she was NOT having any part of it!

She and her friends immediately went on the defense and some sort of scuffle took place. It's kind of hard to see on the vid because Mischa and her friends pushed the camera away.

Watch it all go down (above).

What do U think? Was Mischa overreacting or did she have a right to the push the camera?

Boo! Malaysian Radio Stations Censor GaGa's 'Gay' Born This Way Lyrics

lady gaga gets censored in malaysia

This is NOT cool, Malaysia.

Radio stations in Malaysia are refusing to play some lines from Lady GaGa's Born This Way, because they "encourage public acceptance of gays."

Boo! Here are some of the lyrics that are being edited:

"No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track, baby."

Here's what Malaysia's AMP Radio Networks had to say about it:

"The particular lyrics in Born This Way may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia's social and religious observances. The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a 'taboo' by general Malaysians."

Here's what Malaysian gay rights activist Pang Khee Teik had to say about AMP Radio Networks' decision:

"[The media should be] a platform for marginalized voices and create understanding - not perpetuate ignorance and hate."

"Lady Gaga was attempting to address this very thing in her song. How dare they play that song and cut out its shining heart. We just want the same thing as everyone else: to love, be loved and have our songs played on the radio."

Right on, Pang!

We're sad to hear this decision by Malaysian radio stations, but we're glad to see people like Pang standing up for what is right!

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL! EVERYWHERE!

Check Out Mel Gibson's New Mugshot!

Posted: 17 Mar 2011 09:40 AM PDT

mel-gibson-new-mugshot

He does not look like a happy camper.

Nor should he. It's about time we saw some remorse for his deplorable behavior.

Instead of attending the SXSW Premiere of his new film, The Beaver, Mel Gibson instead chose to turn himself into the El Segundo Police Department last night to have a new mugshot taken and his thumb prints recorded, in accordance with the no contest to simple battery plea deal he took linked to his abuse of baby mama Oksana Grigorieva last year.

Check out his mugshot (above).

16 hours of community service and 52 weeks of counseling is a pretty lenient sentence, given what he did. We truly hope that he's learned from his horrific mistakes and takes his therapy sessions seriously.
