Michael Jackson Surveillance Footage Erased By The LAPD Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:50 AM PDT This is crazy. Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers will be going to court on Wednesday to ask the judge to order the LAPD to turn over all the surveillance videos that showed who was going in and out of Michael Jackson's home on the day he died. The problem is only 4 minutes of footage was copied by the LAPD. The rest of it was erased. Oh geez… The LAPD says that they grabbed the footage to get a timeline of when MJ entered his home before he died. Since they didn't know that his case would turn into a homicide investigation, the rest was erased. In fact, the police apparently never even looked at the rest of the surveillance videos so no one knows who entered his home on the day he died. Wow. That seems pretty careless. And also, a little bit shady… Guess Conrad Murray's defense has been hit with another blow. [Image via WENN.]

Janet Jackson Getting Her Producer On! Signs Deal With Lionsgate Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:30 AM PDT After starring in three Tyler Perry films for Lionsgate, Janet Jackson seems to have proved herself to the company…so much so that they've signed a production deal with her. That's right, folks! Janet Jackson has signed a deal "to select, develop and produce a feature film" for Lionsgate. Here's what she had to say about it: "Many people forget I started out as an actor. I have been fortunate to work in the film industry, though not as much as I would like. I have a passion for storytelling, and have been doing it through my music for some time." Here's what Lionsgate president of motion picture production and development Mike Paseornek had to say about Janet: "She is a powerful on-screen presence, with a vast audience, and we believe she will be an equally powerful presence behind the scenes. We are honored to be able to provide a home for her ideas, passion and immense talent." Congratulations, Janet! Drew Barrymore Directing RomCom Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:20 AM PDT Fab! Drew Barrymore is once again getting behind the camera for her sophomore directorial foray with How To Be Single! Here's what it's going to be about: Single is based on the same-titled novel written by Liz Tuccillo and published by Atria on June 10, 2008. In the mold of New Line's successful multi-story pics such as He's Just Not That Into You and Valentine's Day, Single explores the loves lives and break-ups of a group of New Yorkers over the course of ten years. While we weren't HUGE fans of Valentine's Day, we would def like to see Barrymore take a crack at making a movie like that! We're sure it'll be a little more unique! Especially after 2009's awesome Whip It, her directorial debut starring the wonderful Ellen Page! Drew, best of luck to you in your directing career AND with that new beau of yours!! Jason Patric Has Some Nasty Things To Say About Ashley Judd Posted: 16 Mar 2011 11:10 AM PDT Whoa! Where did this come from?? Jason Patric recently gave an interview and he had some pretty harsh things to say about Ashley Judd. Back in 2003, the two worked together in the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and oh, just a short 8 years later, he's decided to dish out some major criticism! This is what he had to say: "Ashley is lazy, selfish, and arrogant." OUCH!! Those are some fighting words, Jason! We wonder what must have happened to cause so much hate! Nate Dogg's Family Says Complications From Stroke Caused His Death Posted: 16 Mar 2011 10:50 AM PDT More details are coming out about Nate Dogg's death. The rapper had two strokes, one in 2007 and one in 2008, and they believe that complications stemming from those two strokes could be the cause of his death. Rod McGrew, Nate's close friend and manager says that he was "95% recovered from the first stroke in 2007," but when the second stroke occurred a year later, he became partially paralyzed and suffered from partial memory loss. McGrew adds though that he had "cognitively fully recovered," and was fully alert before he died. In a statement, on behalf of himself and Nate's family, McGrew said: "We appreciate the enormous outpouring of response from all over the world. We greatly appreciate that and thank everyone for their prayers and support. We know that Nate will be hanging out with his good friends 2Pac and Biggie." Touching. Kelly Clarkson's New Album Delayed! Posted: 16 Mar 2011 10:40 AM PDT Boo! BOO! We will not clap for this. Kelly Clarkson took to her Facebook page yesterday to announced that her new album, which was poised to release soon, will be kept in the hands of the record label until September. Why? She didn't quite say, but what makes it so strange is that according to Kelly, the album is finished and ready to roll! On her page, she explained: "I recently found out that my album won't be coming out until September ….the album has been recorded but I can't release it until then. I realize that is a long time but that's the best time to release it apparently so I'm sorry for the wait but I promise you it sounds great!" Eh, the suits intervened. We don't know what information they have that instills confidence in them to delay her fifth album, but lets hope they are right. Personally, we're dying for a new Kelly jam RIGHT NOW! But, at least she is staying optimistic about it. That's the most important thing. Maybe you could tell us more about the music in the meantime, girl? Here's what Mary wrote about the book in the proposal she's been shopping around: "This memoir is her story, in her own words. Mary and Keith Hudson have been Christian Evangelists long before the world every heard of Katy Perry." "Amid a torrent of negative reports from tabloid magazines and entertainment shows, Mary Hudson wants to tell 'her story' and dispel a lot of rumors. Katy's success has impacted her ministry in both negative and positive ways." "She loves her daughter very much and is very proud of her accomplishments, but disagrees with a lot of choices she makes in her career. This memoir is to set the record straight. It is not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all. It is the story of Mary Perry Hudson." And here's what book co-writer T.L. Gray had to say about it: "We currently have interest from a couple of different agencies, but have not signed with anyone . . .
