Amanda Bynes -- well, her lawyer - officially pled "not guilty" to misdemeanor DUI charges on Wednesday. The D.A. will seek a stiff sentence since Bynes refused breathilizers and blood tests which means she could face up to six months in jail. We think there's a better likelihood of studios green-lighting She's The Man 2: Jailhouse Blues with Bynes and Channing Tatum starring as cellmates and lovers, LOLz!! Amanda is trying to tweet her way out of this mess, but it doesn't seem to be doing her any good. She begged @BarackObama for executive leniency on Tuesday, swearing that she doesn't even drink!! | Christina Hendricks Explains Mad Men's Controversial Sex Deal! Posted: 06 Jun 2012 12:10 PM PDT WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! Two Sundays ago, Mad Men dealt a scandalous sex card that shocked and polarized fans. Some of you thought like Pete: Seize the day! When opportunity knocks, answer it. But some of you felt like Don: Sex is NOT the appropriate way to land a client! Nothing is worth Joan's dignity. So when Joan agreed to give her body to a slimy Jaguar dealer in return for a partnership and the satisfaction of knowing she scored the job for 'em, Twitter went NUTS! Were they trying to say women can only sleep their way to the top? Or were they merely reflecting the truths of the time period? Was Joan taking advantage of the best deal for her self and her family? Or did the empowering empress lose some of her cred?? Christina Hendricks tells The Hollywood Reporter of her character's shocking twist:
Well either way, Joan did it!! And she ended up pretty much set for life. ...but she did it with her body, which is still pissing A LOT of people off. As we always say, to each their own! Some place high moral standards on their body while others view the utilization of it as a talent in its own. And both are personal decisions. But what seems most bothersome about Joan's particular trade is how she clearly didn't feel in control. Doing something she's not comfortable with isn't true to the Queen we know. Still, it was her decision. She was aware of everything that would come with it: a partnership, money, and personal shame. And she agreed. While it's true the knowledge of Don's opposing stance could have moved her in the other direction, that can be unsettling as well. Because again, don't we know a woman who doesn't let anyone influence her personal decisions?? Guess that's what makes Mad Men so great. | Miss Pennsylvania Turns In Tiara After Claiming Miss USA Pageant Was FIXED! Posted: 06 Jun 2012 11:50 AM PDT Miss Pennsylvania USA 2012 Sheena Monnin has resigned from her beauty queen role in the Miss Universe Organization. She claims that she witnessed "fraudulent" behavior by officials at the Miss USA Pageant this past weekend where she alleges the top five finalists were already selected "before the show ever started." The 27-year-old told her Facebook followers that another contestant "saw a folder lying open to a page that said 'FINAL SHOW Telecast, June 3, 2012' and she saw the places for Top 5 already filled in." She explains her decision for "voluntarily, completely, and utterly" removing herself from Donald Trump's pageant system in another statement that reads:
Miss Universe, however, revealed that the former beauty queen is not being completely honest. On top of calling her allegations "false," the organization released an email in which Monnin criticized the inclusion of transgendered contestants. It reads:
Ugh! She had to go there, didn't she? Such a shame! Especially after Olivia Culpo, the contestant that was crowned Miss USA on Sunday night, expressed her support for such equality. We'd like to consider her side of the story, but not sure if we can after THAT ignorant statement. Trump has announced he plans on suing Monnin over the "ridiculous" accusations and added that the organization doesn't even care who the final contestants are. He thinks "she's angry about losing," but made sure to state "she didn't deserve to be in the top 15." If that's her attitude toward equality, we don't think so either. We walked around some amazing neighborhoods in West Berlin, checked out the museums in East Berlin, saw some very important historical sites, ate some amazing German food and more! In other words, this trip has been a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!!! And, it's so much more meaningful because we get to share it with our mom! We're so lucky to have such a great one! We reported last month that after almost two years of legally trying to rip each other's throats out over custody and financial support, Melissa Etheridge and her ex, Tammy Lynn Michaels, had reached a settlement in their domestic partnership split. It appears that the latter ended up receiving quite a significant chunk of change...in royalties from the rock star's music! That right, under the terms of the agreement, Tammy walks away with 50% of the royalties from Melissa's album The Awakening, as well as from the songs A Simple Love, All There Is, All We Can Really Do, An Unexpected Rain, California, God Is in the People, Heroes and Friends, Imagine That, I've Loved You Before, Map of the Stars, Message to Myself, Open Your Mind, The Kingdom of Heaven, The Universe Listened, Threesome, and What Happens Tomorrow! On the flip side, Melissa gets their properties in Arizona, California, and Arkansas, and they BOTH get to keep their respective Vespas! Yeah. Seriously! LOLz!
