First Look: ‘The Muppets’ Releases A Second Teaser Movie Poster

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 05:30 PM PDT

After the release of the first teaser movie poster back in May and the full length movie trailer in June, today we get to feast our eyes on the second teaser poster for the upcoming film The Muppets. As you can see below, the gang is all smooshed together in this new poster … and it is a fine sight, indeedie.

Aww … I love this poster. Don’t you just want to jump in the middle of this pile of Muppets and cozy up with their furriness? I used to love watching The Muppet Show when I was little because I always thought they looked so fun to hug. I wanted to hug Fozzie Bear so much. This poster totally reminds me of that feeling I had as a kid. The Muppets movie comes out at the end of the year … just in time for the warm fuzzies to kick in :D

Rihanna Has Been Chosen As The New Female Spokesmodel For Armani Jeans & Underwear

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 04:30 PM PDT

Back in January we got to check out the Spring/Summer promo photos for Armani Jeans & Women’s Underwear as modeled by actress Megan Fox. Today we learn that her tenure as Armani model will be short because singer Rihanna has been chosen to replace her as the Armani girl for next season. Out with the Megan and in with the Ri Ri, I suppose.

The label just announced Rihanna as its new face for ads shot in New York that will come out this September. The campaign is known for casting some of the sexiest faces in entertainment, including the Beckhams, Megan Fox, and Cristiano Ronaldo. Whether or not Rihanna will get to pose with whips and chains that excite her, and possibly the world (the Beckhams got only a big rope), this is a good direction for the diva. Her deal surely includes a mandate to wear Armani for red carpet appearances, and Rihanna is one of those people that will surely benefit from the pared-down appeal of a good piece of Armani eveningwear. Then again, she could just as easily diva her way into the sort of treatment they gave Lady Gaga. But, man, would it be refreshing for her to seize this opportunity to exercise a little restraint.

If memory serves, David and Victoria Beckham got to model for Armani for a few seasons before they were replaced … presumably because they were big sellers. That’s not to say that Megan Fox isn’t a big seller but … well … I guess it’s time for fresh blood. Personally, I think Rihanna is a great choice as the new Armani model. She’s hot. She will look great in the ads, I’m sure. I can’t wait to see what they come up with.

Joe Jonas Got Pelted In The Face While Performing In Brooklyn, NY

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 03:30 PM PDT

Poor Joe Jonas. It would seem that the hipsters who inhabit the trendy neighborhood of Williamsburgh in Brooklyn, NY aren’t too fond of his solo music. While performing on stage at a Paper magazine event over the weekend, it is being reported, he got pelted in the face with flying projectiles by people in the audience who were — apparently — not his biggest fans. Poor dear.

He may be adored by teenage girls, but it seems Joe Jonas’ efforts to extend his fan base in New York last week failed in spectacular fashion. The middle Jonas brother, 21, is said to have been attacked by hostile hipsters during a gig in Brooklyn. He was pelted with green foam mini-basketballs at a Paper magazine party in the trendy New York neighbourhood of Williamsburg, according to the New York Daily News. ‘Save for a group of adoring girls at the front of the crowd, Jonas did not encounter very much love from the hard-core Williamsburg crowd in their frayed jeans, acid-washed tanks, jean vests and oversize eyeglass frames,’ reports the publication’s Gatecrasher column. The crowd booed the Disney star as he took to the stage to perform five songs from his new album. The publication reports two men ‘pegged Jonas in the face with their balls. They also nailed one of his backup singers.’ Although Joe behaved like a true professional and ignored the assault, it didn’t do him much good: the party-goers had already decided they weren’t fans. His efforts to fire up the crowd with an enthusiastic ‘How you guys doing tonight’ fell flat.

Yikes! I mean … yeah, what do you expect? I think it was really brave of Joe to go up on that stage in front of that crowd and sing his little popstar heart out but, no, that was not his target audience. It may be “ok” for Paper magazine to put in their pages but to put him in front of their real life readers and have him play music? Of course they are going to give a negative reaction. It would be way too uncool to NOT hate on poor Joe. It sounds like he handled himself very professionally and in the music biz, you’re gonna have to grow a very thick skin cuz there are a lot of haters out there. Here’s hoping Joe‘s next gig is a more successful one … free of foam basketballs handed out to the audience beforehand ;)

Bush Announce The Release Of A New Album

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 02:30 PM PDT

Last month we learned that singer Gwen Stefani is retiring as a solo artist and returning to make new music with her band No Doubt … and today we are learning that her husband Gavin Rossdale is ready to get back into the music game again as well. As some of you may recall, Gavin is the lead singer of the band Bush who found much success and fame in the 90s. The band hasn’t put out a new album in about a decade but according to a new press release out today, they’re back with a new album set for release in September! Are you ready for more Bush?

Multi-platinum rock band BUSH has announced a September 13th release for highly anticipated new album THE SEA OF MEMORIES. Recorded with producer Bob Rock (Aerosmith, Metallica), THE SEA OF MEMORIES is the seminal band's first studio release in 10 years and the first to be released via their own imprint, Zuma Rock Records, through an exclusive partnership with eOne Music. On July 21st, the band (vocalist/guitarist Gavin Rossdale, guitarist Chris Traynor, drummer Robin Goodridge, and bassist Corey Britz) will perform lead single "The Sound of Winter" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Last week, Bush announced that they'll be playing the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on July 28th and the show literally sold out in under a minute. On Saturday, August 20th, Bush will also be among the headliners performing with the Sunset Strip Music Festival in LA. THE SEA OF MEMORIES captures the electricity and trademark intensity of classic Bush delivered in a setting that's fresh and alive. Songs like "The Sound of Winter," "Heart of the Matter" and "All Night Doctors" are propelled by heavy guitar and hypnotic beats, simple song structures and sublime textures. About the album, Rossdale says, "When making music, you have a choice to repeat what you've done or move on. It would've been safe to just rework (1994's debut album) 'Sixteen Stone' over and over, but what kind of life would that be? When you're driving down the road, you're focused on what's in front of you; you don't really think to keep checking in your rear view mirror. I like the idea of art changing, developing and morphing." Over the course of their remarkable career, Bush has sold more than 16 million albums in the U.S. and Canada alone. They've also compiled an amazing string of 14 consecutive Top 40 hit singles on the Billboard Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts, including ten that hit the Top 5. Four of these became No. 1 hits: "Comedown," "Glycerine," "Swallowed" and "The Chemicals Between Us." The band is currently finalizing plans for a fall tour.

Bush were so huge back in the day … I was deffo a fan. I got to meet the entire band at an in-store appearance at Harmony House in Berkley, MI during the band’s first US tour. One of my fave shows ever was Bush & Veruca Salt in Oklahoma City, OK. I believe Gavin went solo for, like, a second but his solo stuff wasn’t really appealing to me. I am very intrigued by this new sound from Bush. I love Bob Rock, he has produced some incredible albums so … I have faith. Any other Bush fans out there? Are you excited by this news?

Prince Harry Plays Polo, Loves Race Cars

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 01:46 PM PDT

Over the weekend we know that Prince William played a bit of polo here in SoCal but his younger brother, too, played the sport back in the UK as well. While Wills was playing with the yanks here in the US, Prince Harry was playing in an Army vs. Navy game in Tidworth. In addition to playing with the ponies this weekend, Harry also played around with some race cars. He is such a sporto, ain’t he?

So yeah … whether Harry is riding astride a horse whacking around balls with his mallet or if he’s just standing around racing cars …

… he manages to do so with INCREDIBLE hotness ;) I really love Wills with Kate Middleton … but single, free-wheeling Harry is DEFF the more attractive prince of the two … at least, IMHO. I wonder if Harry is planning a visit to the US or, more specifically, SoCal anytime soon … I’m sure we’d LOVE to host him here ;)

Indulging My Sweet Tooth

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 12:41 PM PDT

Yesterday afternoon, David and I met up with our dear friend Angie and her adorable daughter for an ice cream date at Sweet Harts in Studio City, CA. Angie’s little girl had a birthday late last week and mine is tomorrow we we met in the middle to celebrate together :) Of course, I don’t think anyone really needs a reason for a fun ice cream date with friends ;)

My cake batter with marshmallow-covered marshmallow sauce was A-MAZING! We had a great time together. After ice cream, David and I grabbed dinner at nearby Casa Vega then called it an early night.

Tonight, I will get to hang out with some of my dear friends in Hollywood for a pre-birthday drink thing. While I’m not crazy about turning another year older, I am very much looking forward to seeing my friends. For my birthday tomorrow, I’m gonna do a bit of work and then David and I are going to Disneyland! Yes, I am refusing to grow up :D

Emma Watson & Rupert Grint Arrive In NY For The LAST NYC ‘Harry Potter’ Premiere

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 10:58 AM PDT

Fresh from last week’s world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 — THE LAST HARRY POTTER FILM EVER!!! — stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint made their way to NYC this weekend ahead of the films NYC premiere this week. As I understand it, their fellow castmate Daniel Radcliffe made his way back to NYC before they did due to his Broadway commitment. But, at last, the big Harry Potter 3 are in the US to kick off the final farewell to the world of Harry Potter.

The British royals may have already left our fair shores but I’m quite happy to have Emma and Rupert here to take their place here to represent the UK ;) People … the last Harry Potter film comes out at the end of this week … then … it’s over … dunzo … for good. First come the premieres, then the film’s release … then the ocean of tears. I’m not ready. I’m telling you … I’m so not ready.

Conan The Barbarian Releases A New Group Character Poster

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 10:21 AM PDT

In early June we got to see a few character posters from the upcoming remake film Conan the Barbarian starring Jason Momoa and Rose McGowan (among others). A couple of weeks later, we got to see the red band sorta-NSFW red band trailer for the film. Today we get to check out a new poster that culls together the major characters in the film in one epic poster. Check it out below.

So … my excitement for this film has gone from zero to, like, 90% in the span of just a few weeks. I wasn’t really all that interested in a Conan remake … and then I got to see Momoa in Game of Thrones and now I can’t WAIT to see him lead this film. The fact that Rose McGowan is a villain in the flick makes it all the more exciting for me. I like this poster, but not as much as the motion poster we got back in March. Man … I just hope this movie turns out well, now that I’m all excited and stuff.

First Look: Photos From The New Maroon 5 Music Video Hit The Internets

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 09:21 AM PDT

Last month, Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine performed the new Maroon 5 song Moves Like Jagger together on an episode of The Voice. For the past few days, they’ve been hard at work filming a music video for the track. Xtina tweeted the first photo from the set of the vid which are accompanied by a few promo photos from filming below. Xtina is rockin’ a sweet 70′s look and Adam is just rockin’ … sans shirt ;) Worth a look? Check it out below.

It’s kinda hard to remember that Adam Levine is the lead singer in a BAND because now that he’s gotten a lot of exposure as a judge on The Voice, he comes across as more of a solo artist. But … Moves Like Jagger is a Maroon 5 song and Xtina is merely a guest vocalist … lest the photos make you think it’s a duet between two solo artists:

I love Maroon 5 and I’ve really grown to like this track … the whistling, gets me every time. This video looks pretty sweet … I love the flag backdrop and, of course, Adam‘s shirtlessness. The vid looks like it’s going to have an 80′s feel, don’tcha think? I can’t wait to see it.

Prince William & Kate Middleton Make Art Then Depart From SoCal

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 08:46 AM PDT

Prince William and his new bride Kate Middleton have already made their way back home to London, England but not before they spent one more day charming the pants off of pretty much everyone here in Los Angeles, CA. After a bizzy day of polo playing and hobnobbing Saturday night, Wills and Kate got an early start yesterday visiting with kids at an inner-city arts center in downtown LA before attending one last military event on their way out of town. For some reason, I thought Wills and Kate were going to be staying in the US for longer than one weekend … but what a weekend it was. Click below to check out some photos of the royal couples’ last day here in SoCal.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left their mark on Los Angeles yesterday as they made imprints of their hands in clay. The couple were visiting Inner-City Arts, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1989, which helps underprivileged children in the city's Skid Row neighbourhood, to develop through the arts. Just like the stars who leave their marks outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, Kate and William gamely put their hands in blocks of clay and then signed them instead of writing in a visitor's book. The tiles will be glazed by students, fired in their kilns and then installed in one of the campus walls. Kate kept her priceless diamond and sapphire engagement ring on throughout the exercise. Her first effort barely left an imprint prompting her husband to tease her: 'Come on, come on. Do it properly' before showing her his. 'Now that's an imprint.' As they made their second mark, William looked over to his wife and rolled his eyes. 'Come on do it again a little harder,' he joked. For their last effort the couple did a joint imprint, putting their hands over each other to push down. As they did so the pair started play fighting, trying to push each other out of the way. Afterwards they washed their hands in the sink and Kate patted away at the prince's trousers, desperately trying to get some of the clay off his Saville Row suit. 'Oh well, it's my own fault. I should have put an apron on like you,' he remarked to Kate , who had sensibly put a black apron on over her navy and white crochet top and white pleated skirt by High Street store Whistles. Earlier the couple had sat down with students from a ceramics class and helped them to make a giant tortoise out of clay. 'Brilliant,' said William, who was being helped by Jeysey Aguilar, eight, 'really impressive.' Kate chatted easily with another group of youngsters who were working on the tortoise's shell. 'Do you play computer games?' she asked one child, who replied that they did. 'You should talk to William, he plays them all the time.' The area the couple visited is one of the most deprived in the city and is known as the homeless capital of the world. In a 50 square mile block there are more than 4,000 homeless people of which at least 1,000 sleep rough on the streets each night. Some 30,000 'at risk' children live within a 2.5 mile radius of Inner City Arts, 90 per cent of which live below the poverty line. As the couple drove through the streets they saw men and women pulling shopping trolleys containing their scant belonging and tents erected on the sidewalk. Inner-City Arts delivers instruction in dance, drama, music, ceramics, visual and media arts to more than 10,000 children and young people every year. Its interests complement those of British homeless charity Centrepoint, of which the prince is patron … The objectives of the visit were to learn about the extent of homelessness and associated issues that affect children, their families and communities in one of the most deprived areas of Los Angeles.

After their glamorous trip to California, feted by A-list celebrities, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the hoi polloi on an ordinary commercial flight home to the UK . They were greeted by British Airways staff on a sun-drenched runway at Los Angeles airport – a marked contrast to their blustery arrival at Ottawa airport last week. Arriving at LAX in a Range Rover, they said their goodbyes after their hugely successful tour of Canada and California, their first official royal trip. The tour has, apart from a couple of minor demonstrations, been heralded a huge success not just for William and Kate but for the British Royal Family. William and Kate snubbed a private jet in favour of travelling on the commercial flight with their entourage and security, taking first class seats on the jumbo. They had travelled through an area with one of the biggest populations of homeless people in the U.S. on their way to LAX. Their last engagement was at a jobs fair at Sony Studios on behalf of Service Nation: Mission Serve – a programme honouring members of the armed services, at which William thanked Los Angeles for welcoming him and his new wife. He said: ‘As this is my last opportunity before we leave this afternoon, I would just say, on behalf of us both, how grateful we are to have been welcomed so warmly in the Golden State and the City of Angels. Thank you so much.’ They have enjoyed an action-packed tour that has seen them take part in casual events, where their ease as a couple and love for one another was on frequent display, to the more formal, allowing William to show his statesman qualities … At their final event in the U.S., for Service Nation: Mission Serve, the royal couple arrived in a motorcade with an escort of 17 officers from the Californian Highway Patrol – affectionately known as Chips – who had British flags fixed to the back of their large bikes. Service Nation: Mission Serve is an umbrella organisation set up by the U.S. government which brings together different service charities to support the re-integration of servicemen and women into civilian life. On stage, with an enormous 60ft American flag in the background, the Duke said: ‘This is the last event on our tour of North America, but to my mind, it is one of the most important. ‘This is because it is about men and women who – of their own free will – choose to put their life on the line for their country.’ He added: “Service Nation: Mission Serve, and all the companies and employers taking part today, are providing opportunities which mean something very immediate and personal to us. ‘Catherine and I both have friends back in Britain who could benefit from a brilliant initiative like this.’ William made the audience laugh by taking a swipe at his brother Prince Harry: ‘I am delighted, therefore, that our Foundation – and in that I include my low-flying Apache very average brother – is a partner in today's event.’

Dang … incredibly charming to the very end. I would say that despite the smattering of protests that greeted the royal couple here and there along the way, this North American tour was a SMASHING success. I would wager very good money that the couple — both of them — managed to charm the Hell out of almost everyone. This is the face of the next genration of British royalty and this introduction, as it were, to North America was very important. These are the people who will rule the United Kingdom in the near future … and they have shown, IMHO, that they are excellent representatives of their country. It’s a shame their visit to the US was so short (and limited to California) but I hope they felt welcome … and will return very, very soon.

David Beckham Announces The Name Of His Baby Daughter On Facebook

Posted: 11 Jul 2011 07:17 AM PDT

Yesterday we learned the very happy news that David and Victoria Beckham welcomed the birth of their fourth child — their first girl — at around 8 AM PT. At the time that news of the baby’s birth was confirmed, no name was announced. Later in the day, Becks remedied that situation by posting his own personal birth announcement on his official Facebook profile along with the baby name. The fourth Beckham child, the only girl, has been named Harper Seven Beckham.

I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx

Well … it’s a name, that’s for sure. I absolutely love the name Harper … it’s a beautiful name. The Seven as the middle name is … interesting. For those of you who aren’t aware, 7 was David Beckham‘s first jersey number when he played for the Manchester United Football Club. Clearly, the number means a great deal to him for him to use it as a name for his only begotten daughter. It’s different, you gotta give the Beckhams that point. While I’m not in love with Seven as a name, I’m sure it’ll grow on me … and, at least, it’s only her middle name ;) So … I gotta know … what do y’all think of Harper Seven Beckham‘s name?
