Mischa Barton Takes Looking Ridiculous To A Whole New Level

Posted: 20 May 2011 05:30 PM PDT

Mischa Barton has worn some fugly clothes over the years … from THIS horrible polka dot peek-a-boo dress to THIS skunk-inspired ensemble. This week, she take ridiculous fugliness to a whole new level. Mischa decided to wear a pair of over sized glasses with a red and white striped outfit and, well, she looked just … horrible. Check out the photos below and see who’s look Mischa was sportin’ at an airport in London this week.

I can’t even with this … look. It is very obvious that Mischa is really desperate for attention so … well, at least she got it. Oh Mischa … you’re a mess, girl.

First Look: ’21 Jump Street’ Releases A First Official Photo

Posted: 20 May 2011 04:30 PM PDT

Last month we got to see photos from the set of the big screen adaptation of the TV series 21 Jump Street, starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, and today we get to see the first official image from the film. This new image is featured in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine and it gives us a look at the actors in disguise while undercover. Check out the photo below.

The first official look of “21 Jump Street” has made its way out via Entertainment Weekly magazine. Exposed in the image, which hits the web in a scanned version, are Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill who wear white suits while in action. A movie adaptation of 1980s’ TV series of the same title, “21 Jump Street” is described as “a John Hughes movie with Bad Boys style action.” Tatum and Hill portray two undercover cops assigned to work in high schools and colleges to catch troubled youths. Also starring in the action comedy film are Ice Cube and Brie Larson, with Rob Riggle playing the villain. Johnny Depp, who starred on the small screen version, will make a cameo in this Phil Lord and Chris Miller-directed movie that will hit U.S. theaters on March 16, 2012.

Meh … boring. It’s nice that we get a promo image but this photo shows us nothing of merit. The photos we saw of Channing and Jonah wearing police uniforms were way more exciting. If I saw this photo without any captioning, I’d have no idea that it is for the 21 Jump Street film. Not impressed … not yet.

Chaka Khan Gets A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Posted: 20 May 2011 03:30 PM PDT

Soul/R&B legend Chaka Khan was honored in LA yesterday with the 2,440th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As you may recall, Chaka recently opened for Prince during his 21 Nite Stand concert residency at The Forum in Inglewood, CA but yesterday the spotlight was squarely on her. Chaka was joined by her BFF and fellow Soul/R&B legend Stevie Wonder at yesterday’s Walk of Fame star unveiling. Check out some photos and videos from yesterday’s ceremony below.

Chaka Khan was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, May 19. The 58-year-old Grammy-winning R&B, soul and funk singer is known for songs such as “Tell Me Something Good,” “Ain’t Nobody” and “I’m Every Woman,” – the latter of which was famously covered by Whitney Houston. Khan received the 2,440th star in the Recording category and it is located at 6623 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the My Studio nightclub in Los Angeles. Wearing a plum suit, the singer accepted the honor at a ceremony hosted by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. “Oh my god,” Khan said. “I’m like, oh, hell to the no. This is so fabulous. I am so honored. I don’t … do I deserve this? All I’m doing is what I love to do.” “Singing is my sanity,” she added. “That is the way I stay as balanced as I possibly can, if you want to call this a balance. The best thing that you can do is to do something that you love and believe in. This is a blessing. This is another jewel in a crown of many jewels that I wear spiritually.” Khan, whose real name is Yvette Marie Stevens, grew up in south Chicago and sang in several groups, including Rufus, in the 1960s and 1970s. The 1974 song “Tell Me Something Good” was written by Stevie Wonder, who sang the song with her at the star ceremony and appeared with her as she accepted her plaque, and was one of Khan’s biggest hit with the group. In the later1970s, she began concentrating on her solo career and released her debut solo album, “Chaka” in 1978. The record featured the track “I’m Every Woman”, which was written by Ashford & Simpson. In 1979, the pop singer Prince released the track “I Feel For You,” which Khan covered in 1984 and which featured hip hop artist Melle Mel and the lyrics “Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan / Chaka Khan, let me rock you / Let me rock you, Chaka Khan.” Between 1974 and 2007, Khan won 10 Grammy Awards, including prizes for her collaborations with artists such as Ray Charles and Mary J. Blige. The singer has released a total of 13 studio albums, with the latest being the 2007 record “Funk This.” She is also set to receive the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s prestigious Hitmaker Award at a gala in New York on June 16th. In 2008, Khan starred in the Broadway musical “The Color Purple” alongside former “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino. Khan also appeared in the gospel musical “Mama I Want to Sing” in London in 1995. Khan continues to perform and is set to give concerts in cities such as New York, Philadelphia and Detroit through the summer.

Talk about your honors well deserved and LONG over due. Chaka Khan‘s has been and still is one of our most precious natural resources and it is about damn time that she is honored in this way. It is an honor to get to hear her perform live so it’s only fair that she be honored in this way. Much love and congrats goes out to Chaka Khan on this latest accomplishment. Woot!

Watch: Jennifer Lawrence Talks ‘The Hunger Games’ With ‘Access Hollywood’ & ‘Letterman’

Posted: 20 May 2011 02:30 PM PDT

Earlier this week we got our FIRST LOOK at actress Jennifer Lawrence as she will look as Katniss Everdeen in the big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games and last night she started doing her first official promo appearances for the film. J. Law paid a visit to Access Hollywood to talk about her new role, revealing that she was a fan of the books before the movies were even talked about. Then she paid a visit to The Late Show with David Letterman to explain what The Hunger Games are to Dave and his audience. Check out these video interviews below.

Jennifer Lawrence has immersed herself in the role of Katniss Everdeen in Lionsgate's adaptation of Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games," and she's starting to feel like another big screen action star in the process. "It was fantastic!" the 20-year-old actress told Access Hollywood on Thursday, when asked about landing the coveted role. "It was great because I was such a huge fan of the books before I even knew about the movies," she explained. "I feel like a fan that gets to dress up… It was really, really great." The "Winter's Bone" Oscar nominee said she and co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson have started intense training at a stunt camp for the upcoming movie. "I love archery! I really love it," the actress told Access. "And I'm starting to do stunts with the bow and arrow, so I kind of feel like Hugh Jackman. And then I'm doing rock climbing [and] tree climbing." The actress, who is also appearing in the upcoming "X-Men: First Class," said her past diet regime for the mutant shape shifter Mystique is helping her prepare to play Katniss. "We all pretty much have to get in supernatural shape for this," she explained. "The dieting probably for 'X-Men' is helpful." As far as the movie's fight scenes – which pit children against one another in fights to the death – Jennifer said they will be "very intense." The actress told Access "The Huger Games" will easily appeal to fans of "The Twilight Saga." "I think the reach is very similar," she continued. "Very popular books, very large fan base. So, I think the size of it is very familiar to 'Twilight.'" Jennifer – who is now sporting long dark locks – laughed off complaints made by some about her not having the same hair color as her District 12 Tribute character. "It was funny because everyone was upset that I was blonde, and I was like, 'I'm gonna dye it,'" she said. "The Hunger Games" is set to begin filming in North Carolina, and the film will hit theaters on March 23, 2012.

I totally get that the Hunger Games folks are trying to court the Twilight audience but the stories are so not the same. IMHO, the Hunger Games books written by Suzanne Collins are light years better than the Twilight books written by Stephenie Meyer. But, if the Twilight gang wants to jump on board the Hunger Games train, the more the merrier. I’d love for these Hunger Games films to be big hits … I love the books so much … I think successful movies might inspire more people to read the books (tho, you really should read the books FIRST before seeing the movies).

Next up, we’ve got Jennifer‘s interview with David Letterman. Among other things, she explains to Dave what The Hunger Games are all about … check out the video below:

Jennifer Lawrence is very charming … I know she will make a great Katniss. The promo push for The Hunger Games is already underway and the film hasn’t even started filming yet. It’s gonna be a LONG year until the film gets released next May. It’s gonna be real fun following the film along the way.

First Look: An Official Promo Image Of Tom Hardy As Bane In ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Surfaces

Posted: 20 May 2011 01:30 PM PDT

Earlier today a new viral game for the upcoming sequel film Batman: The Dark Knight Rises was unleashed on Twitter where every tweet that featured the hashtag #thefirerises would help reveal a promo image from the film on the movie’s official website. It took a few hours but the game was completed and the image was revealed … giving us our first official look at Tom Hardy as the Batman villain Bane.

OMG … love this photo! Click HERE to see a much larger version of this Bane photo. As you may recall, we got our first look at Tom Hardy on the set of The Dark Knight Rises lookin’ all beefy … but he was not necessarily lookin’ in character as Bane. If the viral games are beginning already, I think we have many fun months ahead to look forward to of fun Batman games to play. So … what do YOU think of this first look at Bane?

Celebrating Emma’s Birth

Posted: 20 May 2011 12:44 PM PDT

Last night David and I joined our dear friend Emma at SeƱor Fred in Studio City, CA to help her celebrate her birthday! The last minute dinner was made up of some of Emma’s closest friends and we all had a fun time just hanging out together. To be honest, I always have a great time hanging out with Emma and Josh but it was extra fun getting together for her birthday last night.

The food and drink was great but the real draw was celebrating our love for Emma. David and I have made some really fantastic friends here in SoCal over the years but Emma and Josh are the first couple that we met together as a couple. Words can not express how much we love them both.

Tonight, David and I will be meeting up with Darion and the 3 of us will be heading out to the Hollywood Bowl to see Kylie Minogue in concert. David and I got to see Kylie live in Berlin on her Les Folies Tour 2011 last March but this will be our first time seeing the Aphrodite Live 2011 version of the tour. We are all SO excited!! It’s going to be an amazing night! Happy Friday, Happy Weekend!!

Watch: ‘True Blood’ Releases A New Season 4 Trailer Full Of Witches

Posted: 20 May 2011 11:39 AM PDT

Last week we got to see a new full length trailer for the upcoming 4th season of True Blood and today we get to check out a newer trailer that features some of the new characters that will be featured on the show. In addition to the vampires, shape-shifters, werewolves and faeries on the show this new season of True Blood will also feature a coven of witches! Apparently, in the world of True Blood, witches can control the dead … which would mean big trouble for the vamps in town. Click below to check out this new trailer.

I mean, of course they had to throw witches into the mix … in the supernatural world of True Blood, they were sorely lacking the witch element. It really looks like this new season of the show is going to try and outdo all the previous seasons … and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

The Birth Certificates Of Mariah Carey’s Twins Have Been Released

Posted: 20 May 2011 11:22 AM PDT

Last weekend, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon left the hospital with their twin babies Monroe and Moroccan Scott and while we are still waiting for the first photos of the little ones, today we do get to check out their birth certificates. That’s right, as a matter of public record, the birth certificates of Roc and Roe have been made available to the public for your viewing pleasure below.

These certs don’t really divulge any real personal information. They do tell us that Monroe was born first and that she doesn’t have a middle name (just like Mariah doesn’t have a middle name). Moroccan Scott has the same middle name as his father Nicholas Scott. Head over to Too Fab HERE to zoom in and get a closer look at these docs if you so desire. It might keep you entertained a bit until the first PHOTOS of the babies are released.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Talks About Her Return To TV In ‘Ringer’

Posted: 20 May 2011 11:04 AM PDT

Last week we learned that Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s new TV series Ringer was picked up by The CW to air this Fall and yesterday we got our first look at the first official photos and video from the show. Today we get to hear from SMG herself on why she decided to return to TV after an 8 year hiatus and we get to see new photos of her in-person appearance at the CW Upfronts presentation in NYC this week.

There are two reasons why Sarah Michelle Gellar, TV's erstwhile Buffy Summers, elected to return to the small screen after an eight-year absence — and one of them is a 20-month-old girl named Charlotte Grace Prinze. Speaking with TVLine before The CW's upfront presentation announcing the premiere of Ringer, on which she plays dual roles, Gellar explained, "As a mom, I decided it was something that was going to afford me the chance to do both" — that is, act and be an attentive parent (aka "the most rewarding experience of my life," as she put it) … The other huge draw for Gellar was Ringer's premise, which has her playing Bridget, a troubled young woman who, to escape the mob, adopts her MIA twin's identity — only to realize that her sis, Siobhan, has heaps of problems of her own. "I was just fascinated by the show," Gellar says, "and by the people I got to work with" … As for tackling a dual role, Gellar says that while "you might see a little more of Bridget, Siobhan won't be long-lost" by any stretch. In fact, as seen in some preview clips, Gellar will have numerous opportunities to act opposite herself. As the mysterious narrative unfolds, "We're discussing doing some of it from one twin's perspective, some from the other, you're going to see flashbacks that explain how they got to where they are…," Gellar previews. "I want to make sure that the story for both of these girls comes to life."

This show sounds so interesting, I am really looking forward to investing as much as possible in Ringer when it premieres this Fall. My guess is that SMG was waiting for the right project to come along at the right time before she decided to make her return to TV. I honestly don’t even care what the reasons for her return are, I’m just glad she’s back. I’m so happy that SMG will return to The CW (which is essentially her old network The WB) to her old Tuesday night time slot. I have a good feeling that Ringer is going to be a big hit.

Wrestler ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage Passes Away At Age 58

Posted: 20 May 2011 10:04 AM PDT

Very sad news to pass along today … TMZ is reporting that former superstar wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage died today in a car accident after he suffered a heart attack while driving. It is too horrible to think that Savage suffered a heart attack at a fairly young age but that he died in a car accident due to his heart ailment is just too tragic for words. The Macho Man was only 58 years old.

Macho Man Randy Savage — one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time — died today in a car accident in Tampa, Florida … TMZ has learned. TMZ spoke with Randy’s brother, Lanny Poffo, who tells us the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM … and lost control of his vehicle. Earlier this month, Savage celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his new wife Lynn. Savage was 58. Macho Man began wrestling in the WWF in 1985 and became a superstar with his trademark catchphrase “Ooooooh Yeaahhhhh.”

UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol tells TMZ … Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median … through oncoming traffic … and “collided head-on with a tree.” Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries. Savage’s wife was a passenger in the vehicle during the collision — but survived with “minor injuries.” She was transported to a different local hospital where she was treated. According to officials, Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Cops say alcohol was NOT a factor.

Wow … what a horrible tragedy. As a young boy, I was a huge fan of the World Wresting Federation and of the Macho Man himself. Alongside Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, The Junkyard Dog, Captain Lou Albano and more, Macho Man Randy Savage was one of the superstars of WWF wresting. You’re prolly not surprised to learn that I really loved Randy‘s flamboyant and very colorful outfits. The WWF really provided fun characters to watch and root for and Randy Savage was one of the biggest stars … I remember collecting bubble gum cards of the WWF wrestlers and even owned a Macho Man Randy Savage action figure. My deepest condolences goes out to the Savage family. This is very sad news … may Randy Savage rest in eternal peace.

Justin Timberlake & Andy Samberg Film A Digital Short For ‘Saturday Night Live’

Posted: 20 May 2011 09:23 AM PDT

On Wednesday we got to see the promo videos for this weekend’s ep of Saturday Night Live, which will feature guest host Justin Timberlake. I guessed that we might be seeing a new Digital Short of JT with his SNL BFF Andy Samberg and today we learn the pair did film a short together in NYC yesterday. TMZ managed to snap the pics, which you can check out below.

As you can see, JT and Andy are joined by actresses Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson — who costarred with the guys back in May 2009 on SNL. You may recall the foursome featured in a Digital Short called Motherlover. Might this new short be a sequel to that track? Might it be a whole new song altogether? Might we get to see a Dick in a Box at some point? I guess we’ll have to tune in tomorrow night to find out.

First Look: ‘The Muppets’ Releases A First Teaser Movie Poster

Posted: 20 May 2011 08:49 AM PDT

Last November we first learned that a new Muppets film was being made, starring Jason Segal, and that it would be released around Thanksgiving 2011. Back in February, we got our first look at the (kinda creepy) official logo for the film that features Kermit the Frog‘s decapitated body. Today we get our first look at the first movie poster released for the film along with the official film description … check it out below.

On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds. To stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate. With secret, signature, celebrity cameos, "The Muppets" hits the big screen Nov. 23, 2011.

I have to be honest … I think there is going to be too much realism in this film for my frail little heart to handle. I grew up with the Muppets being legless … the sight of them walking on their own two feet is very disconcerting, I have to say. You may recall that back in January we saw photos from the set of The Muppets and those photos were really really real … showing the Muppets as puppets. I mean … yes, I know that Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, et al. are puppets … but I don’t need to SEE that they are puppets. That being said, I am excited for this new film. I understand it’s been 11 years since a Muppets movie was last made. What do y’all think of this poster? Are you excited or worried about this film?

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Entertainment Career Derailed, ‘The Governator’ Gets Canceled

Posted: 20 May 2011 08:07 AM PDT

In the wake of this week’s shocking news that former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger cheated on his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver, with the family’s live-in housekeeper — with whom he fathered an illegitimate child — today we are learning that Arnold is putting his entertainment career on hold. Since ending his term as the governor of California, Schwarzenegger has been agreeing to appear in various entertainment projects. Yesterday, he issued a statement saying that his return to the world of Entertainment has been put on hold. Additionally, plans for his own comic book/animated series called The Governator have been canceled.

“Gov. Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines,. This includes ‘Cry Macho,’ the ‘Terminator’ franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Gov. Schwarzenegger decides.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s animated project, “The Governator” is officially on hold … The official announcement comes just a few hours after Schwarzenegger said he was putting all his future acting gigs in a holding pattern. A rep for the animated project — Arnold’s first after leaving office — tells TMZ, “In light of recent events, A Squared Entertainment, POW, Stan Lee Comics, and Archie Comics, have chosen to not go forward with the Governator project.” The rep would not specify if the project is completely dead or just postponed until Arnold’s personal issues blow over. One potential problem was the show’s plot … Arnold’s character was supposed to fight crime with the help of his wife Maria and their four kids.

As much as I would LOVE for this news to mean that we will never have to see Arnold Schwarzenegger in any entertainment projects from here on out, I really think this just means there will be a delay of his eventual return (tho, I wouldn’t be surprised if The Governator comic/animated series is canceled for good). Let’s be real, this is Hollywood. Hollywood has a short memory. Given enough time, this horrible cheating/illegitimate child scandal will be a thing of the past. But for now, we get a respite from any projects that might include Arnold.
