Solange Knowles, Cassie, & Selita Ebanks Get GORGEOUS For Carol's Daughter Monoi Collection Launch Event

Beauty was rampant at yesterday's Carol's Daughter event at Sephora.  Spokeswomen Solange Knowles, Cassie, and Selita Ebanks were there to launch the Monoi Repairing Collection.  And the ladies brought the fabness.

Mary J. Blige, who was one of the first faces of Carol's Daughter, came out to the West 34th St. Sephora in NYC to support owner Lisa Price, CEO Steve Stoute, and all three spokeswomen.

Selita switched up her tresses to a red short blunt bob.  It may just be a wig, but it's actually pretty cute on her.

Solange killed it with one of the fave colors of the season--a soft yellow pantsuit with a white button down, white nail polish, and n envious head of natural hair.

And Cassie and her perfect skin kicked it at the event with Mary J.  Are we feelin' the hair?

Couples News You MIGHT Care About: Kim Kardashian ENGAGED+Amber Rose & Wiz Khalifa Get Kissy In The Club

After 6 months of dating, Kim Kardashian finally got her wish of getting a baller to marry her.  NJ Nets baller Kris Humphries popped the question in her bedroom last week.  And all the details are out in this week's mags. 

 

Kim, her 20-carat-ring, and pics of Amber Rose & Wiz Khalifa sharing love in the club when you read on....

 

New Jersey Nets baller Kris Humphries (whose father is black by the way and can be seen in this video for those of you who have been wondering) gave his new fiance' a marriage proposal complete with a 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring worth a reported $2 mill.  It's a 16.5 carat emerald cut center stone flanked by two 2-carat trapezoids  Alrighty. 

PEOPLE magazine (surprise surprise) has all the details right after the proposal:

It was a dream come true for Kim Kardashian when she walked into her Beverly Hills home May 18. Her boyfriend of six months, New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries, was waiting in her bedroom on bended knee with four words written in red rose petals: "WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

"I didn't expect this at all," Kardashian, 30, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview (out Friday) of the romantic, surprise proposal. "I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now."

Humphries popped the question with a custom-designed, 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond sparkler. "I just knew I wanted it to be big," says Humphries, 26, who, with the help of Kardashian's mom Kris Jenner, planned an intimate family celebration later that evening.

"Kris really didn't want a big celebration, but he had jokingly told my mom he'd be fine if there were mini-horses there," says Kardashian with a laugh. "Later that night at the party, my mom brought out two mini-horses, covered in glitter, for us! It was hysterical!"

And her sis Khloe said: 'I can't believe I was able to keep this a secret but now I can scream all I want about it! Kim is engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!'

Oh yes.  It was such a surprise that photogs just so happened to be in tow at the proposal.  And People mag has all details and images just days later.  But hey, it's what Kim has been trying to get for umpteen years now (after her first marriage)....so why not blow it up in the media, despite constantly claiming she wants to keep her relationship private. 

Since the spinoffs like "Kourtney & Kim" are getting low ratings, you gotta have something new in the works to keep this publicity train rolling. I'm sure a "Kim & Kris" show is already in pre-production.  Hell, maybe even post-production.  If it's true love and not just true PR thirst, I'm happy for them.  Congrats.....

 

In other couples' news, Wiz Khalifa almost sucked off Amber's face while partying in San Francisco at Sens nightclub last night.

NEW GIGS: Gabrielle Union Set To Star In "Family Tree" + Dallas Mav Baller Shawn Marion Lands Reality Show

YBF chic Gabrielle Union just landed a role in a new indie film called Family Tree plus reality tv will be a little sportier this fall when Dallas Mavericks star Shawn Marion hits the screen. Deets inside.....

 

 

Gabrielle Union has joined Jena Malone and Zach Gilford in the Brian Savelson directed indie dramedy Family Tree.  Produced by Anish Savjani, the film is about an estranged father and son who accidentally wind up in the same vacation home with their two girlfriends.

Gabby plays one of the girlfriends and her character is the same age as her lover's son.  Production is scheduled to start this June in upstate NY.

Gabby will surely be making paper this summer as she will also film with Kevin Hart and Taraji P. Henson in Think Like A Man.

 

 

And on tv......

Coming this fall, Dallas Mavericks fans will see baller Shawn Marion on a reality show about the women in his life. I wonder if he got the idea from Russell Simmons.  But don't think this is a dating show or a forum for girlfriends and former flames...the show will focus on the very close women who helped him become who he is now.

TMZ reports that the show is tentatively called "The Ladies in My Life" and is about his mom, sisters, and publicist.  By the way, a few of his female admirers will be in the mix.   

The show is being filmed at his 14,000 square foot Dallas mansion and we will get to meet Shawn's twin sister, Shawnett, who is 6-feet tall and can dunk a basketball.  Alrighty then...

Lil Wayne Brings His New Mystery Boo & Drake Courtside To Heat Game

Lil Wayne and his checkered socks kicked it courtside at the Miami Heat Eastern Conference Finals game last night where they beat out the Bulls in overtime. (Boooo!)  Weezy had his arm around his mystery beach chick during the game....so I guess he's proud to show...this...off.

WINNING: Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward Dances Away With "DWTS" Mirror Ball Trophy

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have lost the Superbowl but their wide receiver, Hines Ward, won the country's most high profile ballroom competition last night.  Deets inside....

The grand finale of "DWTS" Season 12 was last night and Pittsburgh Steelers baller Hines Ward and his partner Kym Johnson walked away with the coveted Mirror Ball trophy.  Hines joins Emmitt Smith on the list on pro football players who've won the Mirrorball trophy.  So I guess basketball players may have game....but football players got dance (moves).

After winning, Hines told reporters,

“I heard it (my name), but I looked over and I saw Kirstie and I was like, ‘Jeez, everybody loves Kirstie.’ It had come down to voting. I really didn’t know how I would match up to Kirstie. It’s the fans. It’s definitely the fans.”

He also gave props to his partner.

"Starting this competition, I never thought I'd be in the finals, but, you know, I owe it all to Kym," Ward said."

 

But the road wasn't easy, at one point his partner Kym Johnson was hospitalized after injuring her neck while practicing with Hines.  But Tuesday they bounced back and notched a perfect score of 30 for their samba.   In the end, Hines beat out Disney starlet Chelsea Kane (third place) and "Cheers" star Kirstie Alley (runner-up).

First Lady Michelle Obama hit up tonight's State Dinner at Buckingham Palace in full out glam.  She's one of the first few lucky people to don a look from Tom Ford's new collection for women.  But decide if we're loving her all-white evening gown and gloves when you read on....

 

FLOTUS worked her and her Presidential Hubby's first State Visit and State Visit to the Queen's home in a long evening gown, complete with front criss cross straps and long flowing chiffon.  She paired her look with long white evening gloves and a sparkly clutch.

President Obama looked like he also enjoyed himself at the 171-person dinner.  But we're pretty sure all eyes were on Mrs. O.  So...

Earlier today, Oprah Winfrey taped her last "Oprah Winfrey Show" episode at HARPO studios.  Details about the guest(s) and nature of the show are still heavily guarded, but the show's executive producer, Sheri Salata did tweet:

 “We’re ready. She’s ready. We’ll be toasting up a storm. Probably weeping a bit, holding each other tight.  And most definitely feeling a sense of closure for what has been such an unforgettable chapter in all of our lives.”

Gabrielle Union Lands A Job, Joins Cast Of "Think Like A Man"

We told you earlier about the Steve Harvey project Think Like A Man starring Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson and Michael Ealy, Gabrielle Union. Deets inside....

 

Good news for fans of Gabby Union.  According to indiewire.com, The actress is set to join director Tim Story's adaption of Steve Harvey’s best-seller Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.  The movie will star Kevin Hart as a therapist with a failing marriage who counsels Taraji P. Henson and Michael Ealy among others. 

Others added to the cast include Jerry Ferrara, Romany Malco and Gary Owen. Production starts in July.   

BIRTHDAY BABE: Naomi Campbell Celebrates Her 41st Birthday On A Yacht

Faith Evans & Husband Todd Russaw Speak Out About SPLIT

News broke last week that R&B singer Faith Evans had officially filed from divorce from her husband/manager of 14 years, Todd Russaw.  However, the couple says the split was mutual, and their focus is on their kids.

 

The couple's official statement when you read on....

Faith Evans filed papers in the L.A. Superior Court last week to end her 14-year marriage to her husband and manager Todd Russaw.  And the couple has now released a joint statement about focusing on their kids and wanting privacy and respect from the media:

“The dissolution of a marriage is a difficult time in anyone’s life. However, after a great deal of thought and careful consideration, we have come to the decision to end our marriage together. We will both remain committed to parenting our children and will also continue to support each other’s professional endeavors. We consider this a private matter and we will not make any further statement regarding the matter. We would appreciate the press respecting the privacy of our family, particularly our children, as we attempt to handle our situation with respect and dignity.”

The couple separated in 2005, had their youngest child 2 years later, and also hit a few bumps like Faith getting arrested several months ago for DUI. 

SPOTTED: Lil Wayne BOO'D UP With Mystery Chick On Miami Beach!

What We LOVE About Oprah II: 1996-2006

Yesterday, we walked down memory lane thinking about how Oprah changed the face of television in the mid 80s with her national debut.  Now, we also remember when Oprah shifted her focus to "Change Your Life" television...and she changed the face of daytime tv.

During the late 90s, as Jerry Springer was inching closer and closer to her in the ratings, Oprah Winfrey announced to her audience that she was moving in a different direction.  With "Change Your Life Television" it was about using tv as a platform to give viewers tools to lead better lives. 

Before Oprah, who talked about being "authentic" and "vulnerable" as ways of life?  Not many folks spoke about "teachable" moments or those "aha" moments either.  She introduced us to Suze Orman, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz and Iyanla Vanzant who each taught us how to get out of our own way, move forward,  save ourselves, and wake up.  And with her own touring Power Summits, she made it accessible.

As her show progressed, self-improvement went from being an inside-joke or only for those who could afford therapy, to something achievable to all of us.  And Oprah....we thank you.
