TV FAB: VH1 Orders 10 New Episodes Of "Love & Hip Hop"

Posted: 26 May 2011 09:24 AM PDT

VH1 recently announced that they have renewed the "Love & Hip Hop" show, ordering 10 new episodes.  Deets inside......

Fans of the VH1 series "Love & Hip Hop" will be happy to know that they can expect a season 2 of all of the Mama Jones vs. Chrissy and Somaya vs. Olivia drama.

This season the show, created by Mona Scott-Young, was a ratings success drawing nearly 1.3 million total viewers for the reunion special and 1 million viewers per episode for the regular season.

For the cast, Jim Jones' girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin, singer Olivia LongottEmily Bustamante (what's she going to talk about now that she's "split" from Fabolous?) and rapper Somaya "Boss" Reece are all slated to appear for a second time, sans Mashonda.  We told you previously that she decided not to return.

Talking about the renewal, Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Original Programming & Production at VH1 said,

"Our viewers have connected passionately with these women and their unique, authentic stories in the realms of pop culture and music," Olde continued. "We're very happy to be able continue those storylines."

I have no idea why I love this damn show.  Bring on the foolery!

JET-SETTERS: Rihanna Jets Out Of L.A. + Jennifer Hudson Departs Sydney

Posted: 26 May 2011 08:42 AM PDT

Rihanna was spotted arriving at LAX for a trip to NYC for her upcoming "TODAY Show" concert series kickoff performance, while Jennifer Hudson was seen departing Sydney, Australia yesterday.  See pics of both ladies inside.....

Rihanna will appear on the TODAY Show on Friday as a part of their summer concert series.  And she was spotted keeping it comfy and cute in a Nike jogging suit, pink Nike shoes, and her denim Prada bag.

Even the star-uhs have to go through the god-awful security lines without special treatment:

RiRi was recently attacked in the press reports by the president of the Parents Television Council who said her performance of “S&M” with Britney Spears at the Billboard Music Awards this past Sunday was too much for prime-time.  I'm sure the kiss that the network cut away from didn't help either.

PTC President Tim Winter said, "I cannot imagine what would possibly lead the ABC television network to air a profanity-laced, S&M sex show on primetime broadcast television. The overtly sexualized performance by Rihanna and Britney Spears was no accident or mishap, but a deliberate effort to target teens with images and lyrics that glamorize whips, chains and other sexual fantasies."

And over in the land down under.....

Jennifer Hudson was seen arriving at the airport in Sydney, Australia on her way out of the country.  Someone doesn't look as cheery as she usually is.

She rocked some black over-the-knee boots and her ever-present leggings.

Jennifer was in Sydney promoting I Remember Me where she appeared on the Australian edition of "Dancing with the Stars."

Lil Wayne's Mystery Boo REVEALED! Meet "Dhea"....

Posted: 26 May 2011 07:39 AM PDT

Ever since THESE PICS and THESE PICS of Lil Wayne toting this new mystery chick around Miami hit the net, folks have had lots to say.  But we may have gotten to the bottom of who Weezy's mystery lady is, thanks to our homies over at Complex.

Tunechi's lady revealed inside....

The folks at Complex got a Twitter tip stating that homegirl's name is Dhea...and she's from Scottsdale, Arizona.  Her name is "Dhea" and she works (or worked) in some capacity at a sexy nightclub (which is also a restuarant and lounge) in Scottsdale.  She also says (according to her facebook page) that she lives in Scottsdale, but she's from Taranto, Italy.

We're wondering if Wayne met her while she was doing her...duties...at the nightclub/restaurant she works at (according to her Facebook page).  Weezy has made some concert stops over in AZ.

Dhea and at least one of her girls--who also appears to work at the nightclub/restaurant--put their last name as their workplace--Suede.  Interesting.

Either makeup does wonders or these pics were taken a while ago:

She's on the far left in both pics.  Well, now you know....

HAPPY 36TH BIRTHDAY LAURYN HILL!

Posted: 26 May 2011 06:50 AM PDT

Yesterday, Lauryn Hill celebrated her 36th birthday and The YBF would like to salute her with 36 candles as we reminisce about the icon's fashions and how her music touched our lives inside....

For millions of people, Lauryn Hill's iconic album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was just that disc.  Whether she was singing about the birth of her kiddie Zion, breaking up on "Ex-Factor" or the basement love groove "Nothing Even Matters" with D'Angelo, the disc struck a cord with millions of fans around the globe and expanded the reach of hip-hop.

She was a woman in the hip-hop game who wrote, produced and arranged, and became a symbol of strength for many women.  She's been slow to release new music thanks to her having babies and doing her own thing.  But she's back with concert shows, and she's been recently added to the "Rock The Bells" tour.  We love her crazy ass outfits, ridiculously relatable songs, that voice, and everything in between.

Happy 36th birthday Lauryn!

TALKSHOW FAB: LisaRaye Chats With Wendy Williams About "Single Ladies," Cheaters, & Beefing With Stacey Dash

Posted: 25 May 2011 12:12 PM PDT

LisaRaye dropped by "The Wendy Williams Show" yesterday to talk about her new tv show "Single Ladies" and to clear up rumors about her beef with Stacey Dash. Kinda.  Deets inside...

LisaRaye stopped by to talk to Wendy Williams yesterday.  She went on to talk about her exciting new show "Single Ladies" on VH1, where she plays a sexy take-no-mess woman in her 40s out for good times and better sex.  She said the role was written for an actress in her 30s but she, who's in her 40s, blew the producers away at the audition.

She then talked about Stacey Dash.  We told you earlier about reports that the women were not getting along and she confirmed that.  Ms. McCoy said she's too grown for physical fights and hair pulling like other sites reported.  But she seemed to be vague about the arguments that took lace--saying simply when people spend a lot of time (13 hour days) together in one place, things are bound to happen.

She dished that she's single and focusing on herself and her 21-year old daughter Kai right now after a very messy divorce.  But she let Wendy know her next man will be wealthy because she is an "accomplished" former-First lady, and an around the way boy couldn't do anything for her.  Alrighty then Lisa...

Watch the interview here:

Please peep how LisaRaye pulled that Single Ladies card out her weave at the end of the segment.  Girl....

Beyonce Responds To Performance Stealing Accusations, Reveals Track Listing For '4'

Posted: 25 May 2011 10:47 AM PDT

Beyonce's not letting haters run her world.  She's speaking up about those accusations that she ripped her Billboard Music Award performance from an artist named Lorella Cuccarini.  Her response, plus her tracklisting of her new album 4 inside.  She's revealing track names every hour on the hour....

You've heard the rumors and internet uproar of folks accusing Beyonce, who was honored with the Millennium Award on Sunday, of stealing her Billboard Music Awards performance of "Run the World (Girls)" from an artist named Lorella Cuccarini.

But she responded today saying she is well aware of Lorella's performance.  In fact, she was shown it a year ago and decided to work with the creators of Lorella's performance for her own performance.  Bey told AOL Music today:

"My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much.  I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius. Thank god for YouTube or I would have never been exposed to something so inspiring. I never worked so hard on anything in my life as that performance for the Billboard Awards."

Honestly, ALL artists are influenced by someone or something that preceded them.  Ripping something 100% with no credit is totally different than being inspired and respecting the other person's art enough to go straight to the source to work hard to create your own art.  IMO, Beyonce has done the latter.  And will likely inspire others soon with this very performance in the same way.

Peep the side by side floating around Youtube of Bey's performance and Lorella's performance:

Thoughts?

In other Bey news, she's releasing the titles of her songs off her upcoming album 4 every hour on the hour today via her Facebook page.  Here's what's been said so far:

1. 1+1
2. I Care
3. I Miss You
4. Best Thing I Never Had
5. Party (FT. Andre 3000)
6. Rather Die Young
7. Start Over
8. Love On Top
9. Countdown
‎10. End Of Time
11. I Was Here
12. Run The World (Girls)

We'll update as she releases.  She's so extra for this.  And we love it.

What We (And Celebs) LOVE About Oprah Winfrey: The Last Five Years

Posted: 25 May 2011 10:19 AM PDT

Today, Oprah Winfrey airs the last episode of her hit-syndicated talk show and she will be missed by millions of fans.

Some of her celebrity fans/friends have been speaking out about what she means to them and we have their tweets along with deets about the final show (semi-spoilers included so enter at your own risk) inside.....

She may be a billion dollar woman, but she knows what's really important in life.  The last five years, Oprah has focused on education and the upliftment of those who truly believe education in all areas of life is key.  Through scholarships, her school in South Africa, her magazine and now her OWN channel, everything she does has the intention of teaching.

According to CNN, Oprah Winfrey's final show will feature an intimate conversation between she and her audience.  With old show clips and segments playing as she spoke, Oprah told the audience,

" This last hour is about me saying thank you, it is my love letter to you. I want to leave you all with the lessons that is the anchor of my life. Everyday that I stood here I knew that this was exactly where I was supposed to be. There was many a day I came to work tired, but I showed up because I knew that you were waiting, you were waiting for whatever we had to offer. That’s why I never missed a day in 25 years."

And when speaking about what she hopes everyone has learned from the show, she said:

"(Know)what sparks the light in you so that you in your own way can illuminate the world. I didn’t even imagine that the show would have the depth and the reach that (it has now). ... Wherever you are, that’s your stage, your circle of influence. That’s your talk show, that’s where your power lies. … You have the power to change somebody’s life. Everyone has a calling, and your real job in life is to figure out what that is and get about the business of doing it."

And here's what some celebrities have tweeted about Oprah recently:

Mariah Carey: "Thank u Oprah for inspiring, educating & most importantly giving so many the power to dream & have hope these past 25 yrs! Love & God bless."

Joan Rivers: "Oprah Winfrey is so powerful that she had the Rapture postponed until after her final show airs tomorrow."

Will.i.am: "I’m going to miss the oprah winfrey show... Thank you so much for making feel apart of the harpo family... I love you oprah."

Kristin Chenoweth: "Best night of my life. Sang for Oprah!!!"

Josh Groban: "Took a covert trip to Chicago to surprise @Oprah on her big finale concert. Such an honor! Just landed in San Antonio for concert tomorrow!"

Conan O’Brien: "Oprah has revealed who the guest will be on her final show and it’s not me. P.S. Congrats to whoever 'Will Smith' is,"

Yoko Ono: "She is "one of the strongest women around."

Tyrese Gibson: "I have never witnessed anyone be honored on this level EVER!! @Oprah you are beyond amazing!! Great job team @Harpo Wow!! Wow!! Wow!!"

Shanice--I'm soooo sad that @Oprah's show is over..

Sissy Spacek: "I'm gonna miss Oprah," "She's like a girlfriend that we get to have tea with in the afternoon. I'm happy about her network, and I'm happy that she's gonna be able to do different things, but I'm sad for us."

Jada Pinkett Smith: "What a truly amazing night! @oprah Be sure to tune in and share the moment."

So, oh fab ones.  As we bid adieu, what has Lady O meant to you?

FRESH FACE: YBF Model Nyasha Matonhodze Nabs Louis Vuitton Campaign

Posted: 25 May 2011 09:35 AM PDT

Who's Nyasha Matonhodze? A YBF chick who is burning up the catwalks of the fashion industry.  And she's only 16.  Find out about this fresh face, and what major luxury campaign she just landed inside...

Hailing from Zimbabwe, Nyasha Matonhodze, a British-raised sixteen-year-old, has been chosen as one of the new faces of Louis Vuitton, and stars in the company's fall/winter advertising campaign.

With credits in Teen Vogue and Harper's Bazaar to her name, Nyasha is making a big name for herself on the runway.  So how does she feel about the campaign and all the attention lavished on her?  She told The Telegraph,

"My eyes filled up with tears and I thought 'Lord you are lucky!' It didn't actually hit me until I was sat in a Rolls Royce sitting eye-to-eye with [famed fashion photographer Stephen] Meisel."

But she admits the industry can be brutal.  She told The Cut,

"If you're not strong-minded, modeling can knock your confidence quite harshly. Every day you're judged on your look, and more so today you're judged on your personality. With that said, a lot of us are 15 or 16 years old, so some girls could really take the criticism personally. What we have to understand is that there's not something wrong with us per se, we just aren't a right fit with the client."

Pics of Nyasha hitting the runways these past few fashion seasons:

Beautiful.  Congrats to YBF CHick Nyasha!
