Watch: Britney Spears, ‘Hold It Against Me’

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 07:01 PM PST

At last … Britney Spears‘s new music video for her new single Hold It Against Me, the first from her upcoming new album Femme Fatale, has been released. Without further ado, check it out below …

GAHHHHHHH!!!!! I LOVE this video so much!! the colors, the dancing, the whole vibe is really freaking cool. If there is one thing I didn’t really love was the camera shot freeze frames … but, if you pause the video during those frames, you’ll find screenshots that you might miss as the video plays:

You will note that my source from the music video set was RIGHT about the news that Britney would be shooting paint from her fingers!! That part of the video turned out really cool, I thought:

So, I'm told that in the video for Hold It Against Me, Britney will be shooting paint from her hands (fingers) onto video screens. The director, Jonas Åkerlund, wanted to paint Britney's face for the scene but she was adamantly against having paint put on her face (I'm told she suffered a minor meltdown on set as a result). A body double stand in was used for the paint scenes that Britney was not comfortable doing.

You will note that we do NOT see Britney‘s face during those paint scenes so, yeah, body double for sure. I, personally, think this video delivered in SPADES! The teasers gave us a taste of what the video would be like but until we got to see the whole thing in full, we really didn’t know what we were in for. I love the fight scenes between Britney and Britney … the whole thing is just freakin’ cool, no question. I love it entirely!! Do you?

UPDATE: Britney Spears just tweeted a message on her official Twitter profile about her new music video:

Hope you guys love it as much as I do. If you didn’t I’ll kung fu kick you like I did to that chick in the video.

The LIVING LEGEND has spoken — bow down, beyotches!!

‘Jersey Shore’ Cast-Off Angelina ‘Jolie’ Pivarnick Is Gettin’ Hitched!

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 06:35 PM PST

The tragic and horribly annoying Angelina Jolie Pivarnick may have been driven off of the MTV TV series Jersey Shore — twice — but that doesn’t mean that nobody wants her. On the contrary, there is at least one person who likes Angelina so much that he wants to marry her. Yep, that’s right. Angelina was proposed to on the red carpet of some event in NYC this week by her boyfriend, now fiancée David Kovacs. Believe it or not.

She has the flair for the dramatic and lived part of her life in front of the cameras. But even Jersey Shore’s Angelina Pivarnick was taken by surprise when her boyfriend David Kovacs proposed to her in front of a hoard of journalists and photographers today. The very public proposal took place on a red carpet at New York Fashion Week. The couple were walking down the press line before the Sachika Fall 2011 fashion show, when Kovacs got down on bended knee. According to onlookers, the reality star immediately said ‘yes’. ‘She was completely surprised and said, “Are you serious?” She looked really happy and shocked,’ the witness told People magazine. ‘She covered her face with her hand and dropped the ring on carpet because she was so nervous. He then picked her up and they hugged and kissed.’ Sources say Angelina’s engagement ring is a sparkler. ‘The ring is platinum and 2.5 karats,’ an insider told Us Weekly.

Angelina and David have apparently been friends for several years, but it’s not known how long they’ve been dating. Angelina was most recently linked with Bachelorette star, Justin Rego. The 22-year-old, who appeared on two seasons of top rating Jersey Shore, is known for being the villain everyone loves to hate. In both seasons of the show, Angelina left early after non-stop fights with her house-mates. Her apparent laziness and unwillingness to help with any cleaning or cooking, as well as being the instigator for several fights, soon made her one of the most unpopular people in the house. Despite leaving the show on bad terms, Angelina insists there are no hard feelings. ‘If I ran into one of them, I wouldn’t be mean,’ she once told MTV.

As they say, a sucker is born every minute. I guess reluctant congratulations go out to newborn suck David Kovacs and his wife-to-be Angelina Jolie Pivarnick. Um … yeah.

Britney Spears Reportedly Buys A New $20 Million Dollar Mansion

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 05:17 PM PST

It looks like our dear Britney Spears is on the move again. In recent years, Britney has been doing a bit of real estate hopping but managed to settle down for a while in a sprawling manse in Calabasas, CA. Welp, it looks like Britney needs something bigger to live in because word is that she just bought herself a $20 million dollar mansion in Hidden Hills, CA. Um, that’s baller, y’all.

The stunning 20,000sq ft Tudor-style pad, set in three acres of land, has 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, and boasts swimming pools complete with caves containing Jacuzzi baths and waterfalls. It even has a multi-machine arcade room with video games and an air-hockey table and a pool table – which her two young sons Sean, five, and Jayden, four, are sure to love. "Between the chandeliers, the huge ballroom and the double stairway entrance, there is something completely enchanting about this home," Hollywood real estate expert Chad Rogers told In Touch magazine. The Hold It Against Me singer's new home is in the same community where superstars including Jennifer Lopez, the Osbournes, and the Kardashians have all owned homes.

Wowzers! From the looks of these photos alone, it looks like Britney will be living in the lap of LUXURY. Considering all the success that Britney has enjoyed over the years (with much more success to come), I think it’s perfectly fine for her to enjoy her wealth. A 10 bedroom home seems like a bit much for a currently single mother of 2 but … It’s Britney, bitch! This place looks and sounds SICK! I guess congrats are in order. Dude, she’s got a ballroom! Wow.

Emma Stone Does ‘Vogue’ Magazine

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 04:30 PM PST

Last month we saw photos of the beautiful Emma Stone on the SoCal set of The Amazing Spider-Man but today we get to see photos of her in the new issue of Vogue magazine. As you can see from the photos below, Emma looks STUNNING in this tiny Vogue feature. Behold.

She is so beautiful and talented and I just LOVE her to death. I think the next time Vogue decides to feature the lovely Ms. Stone, they should do so by putting her on the magazine’s cover. As much as I love these photos, it’s not nearly enough Emma for my satisfaction.

Lindsay Lohan Is Thankful For Charlie Sheen’s Advice

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 03:23 PM PST

Yesterday we learned that trainwreck Charlie Sheen was kindly offering up some useful information to fellow trainwreck Lindsay Lohan about how to better get a control of her life and, well, stop being a trainwreck. Today we learn that while Lindsay is thankful for Charlie‘s advice and support, she doesn’t believe she needs to take his advice. Of course. Additionally, Sheen thought it would be cool to pay a visit to the firemen to came to his house in order to save his life the morning after he enjoyed a 36-hour drug fueled porno party. Of course.

Lindsay Lohan is telling friends she’s definitely grateful for Charlie Sheen’s words of support yesterday … even though she didn’t agree with his message. Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ … she was listening when Charlie called in to the “Dan Patrick Show” yesterday and lashed out against the people trying to ” vilify [Lindsay] without fact.” But Charlie’s advice — that Lindsay “work on her impulse control” — didn’t go over so well … because Lindsay doesn’t believe she has self-control problems. Still, Lindsay is telling friends she “appreciates Charlie giving her his support.”

Um, yeah. Moving on … here is a photo of Charlie and some of the firemen who responded to his 911 call a few weeks ago:

Charlie Sheen took a trip to the fire department that responded to his house when one of his porn star party-goers called 911. As Charlie told TMZ, “It was the hernia heard ’round the world!” Charlie was armed with gifts to show his gratitude, including a bunch of Leathermans — a multi-tool, kind of like a Swiss Army Knife on steroids. Charlie said, “These guys are like George C. Scott, with a capital C! Hardcore.” Charlie felt the firefighters may have saved him, telling us, “Compared to me, these guys are true heroes.”

Er, no offense to these brave firemen … but a sack of potatoes would look like “true heroes” compared to Charlie Sheen. It’s just really amazing that trainwrecks like Lindsay and Charlie can, like, function. But, they are both alive and seemingly well so … if they don’t feel there’s anything wrong with their behavior, I don’t think anyone will be able to convince them otherwise.

The ‘Sherlock Holmes’ Sequel Gets A Subtitle

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 02:45 PM PST

It turns out that Sherlock Holmes 2 won’t be called Sherlock Holmes 2 after all. Warner Bros. has decided to give the sequel film a subtitle in order to, apparently, give it an identity of its own. Henceforth, from here on out, the upcoming Sherlock Holmes sequel will be titled Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Ooooooooooooooooh!

Elementary, our dear Watson, is not always a good thing. Particularly when it comes to the newly revealed title of Guy Ritchie’s Robert Downey Jr.-and Jude Law-starring Sherlock Holmes sequel, which certainly seems like it could’ve benefited from a secondary (and dare we say, tertiary) look. In any case, ladies and gentlemen, mark your calendars for Dec. 16, when into a theater near you will roll Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. No, seriously. What happened to the Brits’ much ballyhooed way with words? Ah, well. Perhaps that’s a mystery for the third installment.

HMMM, I’m not in love with the name but I do think it’s better than just Sherlock Holmes 2. Additionally, a new promo photo has been released for the film that features leading men Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law in action with their female co-star Noomi Rapace:

I am really excited for the original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo to make her English-speaking movie debut. As for the new subtitle … do you like it? Do you care?

Jake Gyllenhaal Jogs Jauntily Into Work

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 01:51 PM PST

When last we saw Jake Gyllenhaal here on the blog, he was in Nashville, TN hanging out with a female celeb at an intimate basement performance by Mumford & Sons. Oh and that female celeb was NOT Taylor Swift, it was actually British actress Carey Mulligan. Today we get to see photos of Jakey poo back here in SoCal making his way into the office lookin’ as cool as a cucumber.

Oh Jake, it doesn’t matter what you do or how you do it … I’ll always be a fan. Homie is just making his way into work, jogging across the street and I’m actually swooning at the cuteness. Ugh. Do your thang, Jake.

‘Scream 4′ Releases A Killer New Movie Poster

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 01:29 PM PST

Last month we got to check out a new poster for Scream 4 and today we get to check out an even newer poster for the upcoming sequel film. This new poster is a very clever take on the first teaser poster that we got to see in April of last year. It basically features the tools of the Ghostface Killer’s trade …

This is a fantastically fun poster. I can’t believe we are just 2 months away from the film’s release. I remember when we first heard back in the Summer of 2009 that Scream 4 was officially going to be made and here we are, so close to release day. Where does the time go? I’ve really enjoyed all the promo photos we’ve seen from Scream 4 thus far but I think this is my fave photo of the bunch. What do you think?

5 Years Ago Today . . .

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 12:33 PM PST

So … today is a very special day for David and me. It is the 5 year anniversary of the day we met. Back in 2006, we were two bloggers in Amsterdam hanging out, enjoying the city. Today, 5 years later, we are in lurve and fully committed to one another. Not too shabby, eh? In celebration of our 5 years together, David and will be doing a bit of traveling together and we are both very excited to get our adventure started.

These photos (which include our good friend and fellow blogger Rachel) were taken the weekend that David and I met in Amsterdam, Holland 5 years ago. That was us then … this is us now.

For the first 3 years of our relationship, David and I flew across the country back and forth (from LA to NYC) and around the world to various locales. We’ve visited Barcelona, Paris, London, Reykjavík and yes, we even went back to Amsterdam. But, since we’ve been living together here in LA for the past couple of years, our world travels have slowed down. So, we decided to take a nice long trip for our anniversary to get back into the swing of things. We leave tomorrow for a week-long stay in NYC to visit with David’s family and friends and then a week later, we jet off to Berlin, Germany for a 2 week vacation there. Neither one of us have ever been but we’ve always talked about visiting Germany. We are VERY excited. As much as I’m going to miss the warm, sunny weather here at home, it’ll be nice to get to know one of the most exciting cities in the world. Don’t fret … I will be working every single day, as usual, so things will be relatively normal here on the blog. Except for the rare travel day that may keep me away from my computer, things around here will remain the same. If any of y’all have any advice or suggestions about what to do when we are in Berlin, please pass them along. We’re heading into the city blind … but anxious to see and do as much as we can.

So … yeah, for our anniversary tonight we have some last minute preparations to take care of for our trip but I think we’ll manage to squeeze in a romantic dinner in there somewhere :)

More Banksy Street Art Shows Up In LA

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 10:58 AM PST

Yesterday Pink reader Sarah shared a photograph of a new piece of graffiti street art here in LA that is believed to have been crated by British graffiti star Banksy. It is believed Banksy is tagging LA ahead of the Academy Awards next week because his film Exit Through the Gift Shop is nominated for the Best Documentary award. Today, Pink reader Aaron sends in other photos of another Banksy art piece that popped up here in LA this week. In fact, Banksy pieces are showing up all over LA these days.

This Charlie Brown piece showed up on a fire-damaged building and was photographed by Aaron … but the following photos of this doggie taking a leak were professionally photographed by a photo agency:

A billboard on Sunset Blvd. was tagged by Banksy a couple of days ago … but has since been RIPPED down by the billboard owners:

A billboard company just ripped down a Sunset Blvd. sign that had been tagged by Academy Award nominee Banksy — just a few short days after the legendary graffiti artist touched it up in the first place. The Mickey Mouse inspired artwork — which mysteriously appeared a few days ago — was just taken down … but no one at the scene will tell us why. We’re told employees at the gas station directly below the billboard offered to pay $10,000 for the artwork — but the billboard company refused … A physical altercation just broke out over the sign — cops have responded to the scene.

Apparently, the client who paid for the billboard is PISSED that the billboard company ripped down the graffiti. Oh yeah, Banksy is deffo in town, y’all. He is creating quite a stir in the days leading up to the Academy Awards. We’ll have to wait and see if he will walk away victorious with an Academy Award but I think a great many people are hoping he will win just so that he can go on stage and accept his award.

Céline Dion & Family Return To Las Vegas, NV

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 10:36 AM PST

Back in 2002, Céline Dion launched a 3-year residency at Caesar’s Palace Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV and successfully performed 600 shows, making her one of the most successful Las Vegas performers of all time. After she finished her contract, she went back home to Canada and focused on her family life, giving birth to twin boys Nelson and Eddy last October (who we met back in December). This week, Céline and family returned to Las Vegas ahead of another 3-year residency at Caesar’s Palace … because, apparently, she ain’t done making millions of dollars in Sin City.

With her twin sons less than four months old, Celine Dion could be expected to be relaxing at home enjoying her maternity leave. But the mother-of-three got back to work today as she arrived in Las Vegas to begin rehearsals for her high-profile three-year residency at Caesars Palace. Joining her was her family, with the singer and husband and manager Rene Angelil showing off bouncing babies Eddy and Nelson as they received a gala welcome. The boys, wearing matching blue baby grows and white hats, were cradled in their parents arms as they posed on the steps of the casino. Their big brother, nine-year-old Rene Charles, was also with his family. French-Canadian star Celine will now begin rehearsals for her new show, set to debut on March 15 at The Colosseum. But despite her busy work schedule, Celine is not planning on taking a back seat in raising her sons. ‘I am changing diapers and breastfeeding and that’s something where no one can take my place,’ she told French GALA magazine last month. ‘It’s tiring but an intense joy,’ she said. ‘I take things day by day. That’s the secret to me. In any case, breastfeeding is more difficult if you are stressed. I didn’t have these children to not take care of them, to give myself to them 200 – 300 per cent.’

You go Céline! I can’t even wrap my head around the amount of money she made the last time she took up residency in Las Vegas. That she is doing it again can only mean that she will be getting paid MORE to devote another 3 years to performing there. It’s very obvious that she doesn’t have to work but she clearly loves it so much. Céline Dion is a shining example that if you want something, you go for it … and you don’t stop until you get everything you want. It really seems like Céline truly has it all … I hope amidst all of the hoopla of her life, she is able to enjoy the fruits of her labor.

Watch: ANOTHER 30 Seconds Of ‘Hold It Against Me’ By Britney Spears

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 10:02 AM PST

Yesterday afternoon MTV released a 30 second clip from Britney Spears‘s new music video for Hold It Against Me (and earlier today we got to see today’s 14th super short teaser for the clip). This morning, Access Hollywood Live featured a different 30 second clip from the video and an industrious fan recorded the footage and uploaded it to Twitter. Check out this other 30 second preview of Hold It Against Me below.

The video is grainy cellphone video of a TV playing the footage but still … it’s a pretty sweet look at more of the Hold It Against Me video that is due for release tonight. Check it out:

I really love it … I think she looks great! But what do YOU think? Impressed or … notsomuch?

UPDATE: Here is a higher quality version of this new 30 second preview clip:

Henry Cavill Does ‘Entertainment Weekly’ Magazine

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 08:54 AM PST

Last month we learned that British actor Henry Cavill won the role of Clark Kent/Superman in the upcoming Zack Snyder-directed Superman reboot film. Today we get our first look at Cavill on the cover of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. This issue of EW features the first interview with Cavill since it was announced that he won the role but it also devotes much coverage to the plethora of other superhero films that are coming our way.

For fans of superhero movies, the next two years could bring the biggest and broadest array of films the genre has ever produced — and hopefully the very best, as well. Call it The Spandex Singularity — an unprecedented concentration of super-star superhero properties, resulting from the intensifying geek takeover of pop culture. This year gives Fox's X-Men: First Class, a reboot (in prequel form) of the franchise that helped launch the modern era of superhero cinema back in 2000. Then come three new properties that will try to expand the category's horizons: Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, both from Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures, and Warner Bros.' Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds. Next year: The heavyweights. The Wolverine. The Amazing Spider-Man. The Avengers. The Dark Knight Rises. And then, capping the year, an as-yet-untitled movie that will try to restore the king of all the superheroes to his pop glory: Superman. The new issue of Entertainment Weekly previews the onslaught of box office super-friends about to descend upon us — and it also brings you the first interview with British actor Henry Cavill (The Tudors) since director Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) and producer Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight) tapped him to become Hollywood's newest Man of Steel. Among the topics of discussion: Cavill's audition, which included shooting a screen test wearing a replica of Christopher Reeve's once impressive, now dated Superman suit. "If you can put on that suit and pull it off," says Snyder, 'that's an awesome achievement." Cavill was feeling less than super in the moment, at least about his ability to fill out the costume: He had just finished shooting a film with Bruce Willis called The Cold Light Of Day, and the part required to him to shed the impressive abs of steel and muscle tone he had put on for the movie he made right before that, the forthcoming mythic fantasy Immortals. As an assistant helped to him put on the Super-suit, Cavill recalls: "All I could think was: Oh, god. They're going to look at me and go 'He's not Superman. Not a chance.' The actor inside me was going: You're not ready! You're not ready!" Snyder saw something — or rather someone — different. "He walked out, and no one laughed," says the director. "Other actors put that suit on, and it's a joke, even if they're great actors. Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go 'Wow.' Okay: This was Superman.'"

Yes, I am a huge Superhero fan but hearing about how many new projects are on the way (including the new Wonder Woman TV series, which we learned last night cast actress Adrianne Palicki in the lead role) … I fear that Hollywood may be overdoing it a bit and might cause us all (me, included) to get burnt out on all the Superhero fun. As soon as Hollywood realized that 3D movies were getting attention, they decided to make almost every single movie in 3D … and now people hate 3D again. Let’s hope the same thing doesn’t happen regarding Superhero films. But, I digress … I am still very pleased that Henry Cavill ended up winning the role of Superman. I think it’s very telling that for the audition, the actors were asked to wear the iconic Superman suit worn by the late Christopher Reeve. Some people were born for certain roles … I can see how Cavill might be the perfect man to take up the new mantle of Superman. I really cannot wait to see him all dolled up in the new Superman suit … but, I fear, we have a long time to wait before that happens. Still, I’ll take what little promo I can get. This week’s issue of EW is a must-read, I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy.

Britney Spears Releases A Fourteenth Teaser For Her ‘Hold It Against Me’ Music Video

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 08:38 AM PST

Today is the BIG DAY … at long last … Britney Spears will be debuting her music video for her new single Hold It Against Me in just a few hours. Tonight, at 9:55 PM ET / 6:55 PM PT, Hold It Against Me will premiere simultaneously on MTV and on Britney‘s official online sites. As you should be well aware by now, we have been getting quick 2 second teasers for the video for the past 2 weeks … and right now we get to see the 14th and final teaser.

Sadly, we get no sight of our dear Britney in this final teaser but considering the full music video will be unveiled later in the day, I’m not complaining at all. Here is today’s clip:

Yesterday we got to see a FULL half minute of footage from the Hold It Against Me music video and for me, that was enough to get me really AMPED for the video’s debut. I am so excited!! I can’t wait to see the video!! It won’t be long now, y’all … today’s the day!!!

Vanessa Hudgens Shows Off A New Tattoo

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 07:52 AM PST

Vanessa Hudgens, who has just been named the 2011 celebrity spokesmodel for Candie’s and who is featured in the new issue of Details magazine, has gotten herself a new tattoo — her first! Perhaps in a show of independence after her break-up with Zac Efron, Vanessa decided to “take flight”, “spread her wings” and get a butterfly tattoo on her neck.

She became a household name playing angel-faced good girl Gabriella in the High School Musical films. But with the Disney franchise – and her long-term relationship with co-star Zac Efron – behind her, it appears that Vanessa Hudgens is keen to move on. The 22-year-old has undergone a startling makeover, stepping out at New York Fashion Week looking more goth girl than teen queen. And to truly ensure there are no more Disney roles in her future, last night Vanessa decided to get her first tattoo. The actress got inked by famed tattoo artist Bang Bang, the man responsible for Rihanna’s body art, after dinner in Manhattan with Australian music group The Veronicas and their fellow Aussie MTV VJ Ruby Rose. Her dining companions are all tattoo enthusiasts, and Ruby, 24, admitted on Twitter that she may have had an influence over Miss Hudgens. She wrote: ‘Please don’t blame me.. But I may have convinced Vanessa Hudgens to get a tattoo… Now. Her first. By bang bang.’ The DJ and model added later: ‘Vanessa is deciding between her neck or ribs what do you guys think?’ The former tween queen went through with the inking, acquiring a butterfly on her neck.

I, personally, think this is a lovely tattoo … but I think it was a very, let’s say, bold decision to get such a large tattoo inked on one’s neck. But, if Baby V wants to keep her new tattoo hidden, she should have no problem doing so:

I really hope, tho, that Vanessa decided to get this tattoo because she really wanted it … and not because she was talked into getting it. Body art is beautiful but it should not be undertaken lightly. Let’s hope that this first tattoo is one that Vanessa will love for the rest of her life and not come to regret due to poor judgment. As for the tattoo itself, what do y’all think? Do you like it?

Victoria Beckham, David Beckham & Baby Bump Bid A Stylish Goodbye To NYC

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 07:32 AM PST

Late last week, Victoria Beckham unveiled what little baby bump she has for the first time upon arrival in NYC for NY Fashion Week. Vicki B. stuck around in town and celebrated Valentine’s Day with her hubby David Beckham (who flew in from London to be with her for VDay) and then appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. But, alas, today we learn that VB and Becks have packed up their belongings and have stylishly bid adieu to NYC.

I’m guessing that VB is carrying that HUGE clutch (designed by her, btw) in order to throw off our attention from her teeny, tiny baby bump … and it works! Next to that huge purse, her stomach looks non-existent. As for Becks, well, he’s carrying a big bag of his own … paired with quite the stylish outfit, I’d say. It is being reported that Les Beckhams are headed back to London to reunite with their children and so that Becks can get back to playing soccer in Europe, or whatever. I hope the family won’t stay over there for long. It’d be nice to have them back here at HOME in SoCal soon ;)

Happy 30th Birthday, Paris Hilton

Posted: 17 Feb 2011 07:00 AM PST

Birthday Lurve goes out today to the aging Hollywood socialite Paris Hilton who, today, turns 30 years old. As you may recall, yesterday we saw photos from Paris‘s early birthday party that was held in the Hollywood Hills on Tuesday night but today is her actual birthday. That’s right, folks … the celebutante who made a name for herself with sex tapes and crotch shots is now a grown woman of 30.

For me, Paris‘s 30 birthday seems to be the final nail in the coffin of her “generation” of Hollywood “It” Girls. For the past few years, Paris‘s celebrity cohorts have been growing up or falling by the wayside right before our eyes. Nicole Richie, who was Paris‘s partner in crime for years, long ago put aside her childish behavior to start a beautiful family with Joel Madden. Meanwhile, the tragedy that is Lindsay Lohan has been forced into “It” Girl retirement based solely on her in ability to stay out of trouble. Paris was the last of the crop of socialites completely unwilling to let go of the partying … but now that she’s 30, well, it’s a bit difficult to call her a Hollywood “It” Girl at all. I am by no means critiquing Paris‘s age … in fact, I welcome that she is 30 because I’m hoping she’ll one day soon start acting her age. But it seems significant to me as fan of pop culture that Paris is no longer a woman in her 20s. Undoubtedly, a new crop of Hollywood “It” Girls will come along to take center stage … but as for the crop of girls who ruled the 2000s, well, they’re women now. Happy Birthday, Paris. It’s time to start acting your age, not your shoe size.
