Watch: Kanye West, ‘All Of The Lights’

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 04:15 PM PST

Kanye West has unleashed a new music video for his new single All Of The Lights. The track features vocals by Rihanna and Kid Cudi and without question, is my fave song on his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Thankfully, the video is for the most part understated and actually simple. Check out the Kanye West video for All Of The Lights below.

Yes, some of the scenes are epileptic seizure inducing but … I really like how not elaborate it is. I really love this song. As far as the Rihanna vocals go, I like this track more than any of her songs on her album Loud. Check it out:

I’m so surprised that Kanye decided to go this route with this video … the song is my jam, and IMHO the video is dope. What do y’all think?

The New Spider-Man Film Will Be Tied To The Previous Spider-Man Films

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 04:04 PM PST

It turns out that reports that the new Spider-Man film, The Amazing Spider-Man, will NOT be a reboot of the Spider-Man trilogy of the 2000′s and will be, instead, some sort of “continuation” of the story. According to new statements made by Avi Arad, a Marvel Executive producer, The Amazing Spider-Man will tells stories from the previous 3 Spider-Man films that just haven’t been seen … or something like that.

The Amazing Spider-Man, a new Marvel Studios reboot of the popular superhero, has been considered in the press to be a straight-up reestablishing of the Peter Parker character and his particular comic book mythos. Marvel Executive producer Avi Arad has come forward to say that isn’t entirely true. While director Marc Webb has a new Peter Parker in Andrew Garfield, the upcoming first installment of this new reboot will still have ties to Sam Raimi’s original Spider-Man trilogy. Here is what Avi Arad had to say: “It’s not a comeback. You have to look at it this way: Do you want to know more about The Amazing Spider-Man? This movie is going to tell stories that you didn’t see in movies 1, 2, and 3.” Avi Arad went onto say that The Amazing Spider-Man doesn’t erase the Sam Raimi films, but instead has a storyline that could have taken place in the context of the original Spider-Man. The Amazing Spider-Man comes to theaters July 3rd, 2012.

I’m not quite sure what Arad is saying … but it sounds like The Amazing Spider-Man and the films to follow will tell other Spider-Man stories that take place in the same timeline as the previous films but just were not told on the big screen. Like, for example, these new films could just be squeezed in between the previous films and the story continuity would still be the same … er, you know, but with an entirely different cast. I like the way this sounds but unless The Amazing Spider-Man is treated more as a prequel to the first film, it doesn’t make sense for Spider-Man to use the mechanical webslingers rather than being able to shoot the webs from his wrists. In the end, we have a LONG time to wait to see how this new film relates to the previous films. I’m not sure I buy what Avi Arad is selling just yet but … I’m willing to wait and see.

Plans To Erect The RoboCop Statue In Detroit, MI Get Seriously Serious

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 02:45 PM PST

Last week we learned the amazing news that the Kickstarter project to fund the erection of a RoboCop statue in Detroit, MI successfully met their fund raising goal (with still time to raise more money) and today we get an update on the project. It turns out that the company that is licensed to create RoboCop replicas has offered to donate the materials for the Detroit RoboCop statue. It is really happening, y’all … very soon, Detroit will get its very own RoboCop statue!

A lot has happened over the past week – lots of questions coming in, including how the statue is going to look and how it’s going to be produced. We’re extremely excited to announce that Fred Barton Productions (http://www.the-robotman.com/) has stepped-up with an offer to donate the use of the very same materials they are using to create their amazing 1:1 Robocop statue which is now available for sale. Barton's 1:1 statue has been painstakingly retooled from a variety of studio sources and original stone molds assuring unprecedented accuracy and detail. Detroit's statue is going to be completely the real deal, scaled-up in size from these pieces. Barton is MGM’s Official Licensee for Robocop; they are the leader in studio licensed celebrity robotic replicas — including the amazing Robocop bust you see below. More soon.

If you build it, they will come. Very soon, an as real as can be statue of RoboCop will stand in Detroit, MI and I know people will come from all over the world to see it. I know that I will make my way back home to Detroit to see it. Will you?

If YOU would like to donate some money for this project, you can do so HERE.

Ashley Greene Celebrates Her 24th Birthday With Joe Jonas In Sin City

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 02:33 PM PST

Twilight star Ashley Greene celebrated her 24th birthday at Pure Nightclub inside the Caesar’s Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV this weekend with her popstar boyriend Joe Jonas. Clearly, the couple enjoyed themselves immensely in the VIP area of the club but Ashley reveals that it was the gift from Chanel that Joe gave her that really made her birthday special.

Joe Jonas sure knows how to charm his girlfriend Ashley Greene. At her 24th birthday celebration at Las Vegas’s Pure Nightclub on Saturday, the Twilight beauty donned a form-fitting black cocktail dress and sported a gold Chanel charm bracelet on her right wrist. The latter was a gift from Jonas. “The funny thing about it is when I got it, my boyfriend said it’s vintage Coach – and I was like ‘Thanks so much.’ And then I put it on and was like, ‘Oh my god, this is Chanel,’ ” Greene said, letting out a scream. “It was very cute and sweet and adorable to me because my boyfriend gave it to me,” she said. “Coach, Chanel, [it] makes no difference to him … [But] I absolutely love it because he knows what I like.” With Jonas joining her at the soiree, Greene danced seductively with her boyfriend and partied the night away at the Candy Land-themed bash, complete with oversized lollipops and an over-the-top, three-tiered birthday cake. Despite the sugar rush and the new bling, Greene said her best gift wasn’t something that was purchased. “I know this is cheesy,” she said, “but the biggest gift to me was having my best friends fly in to celebrate with me.”

Ok … no. I love that Joe was very sweet to give Ashley such a beautiful gift but there is no way in HELL that I believe that Joe Jonas doesn’t know the difference between Coach and Chanel. As the most stylish of the Jonas Brothers, I am 100%, utterly convinced that Joe knows whats up when it comes to designer labels. I’m certain that Ashley loves the bracelet because I can tell that Joe has pretty good, stylish taste. In any event, Birthday Lurve goes out to Ashley … and snaps to Joe for coming up with such a fab gift.

Brunch, Bowling & The Brooklyneer

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 10:30 AM PST

Yesterday was a bizzy and VERY cold day here in NYC. When we landed in NY Friday night, it was breezy and pleasantly 65 degrees. Yesterday the temps plummeted into the low 30s … with the wind chill making it feel closer to the mid teens. It was cold, y’all. Still, David and I had a full day of things to do so … we made the best of it and had one of the funnest days ever!

First up, we met for brunch with David’s sisters Lara & Eden and his aunts Judy & Susan and our good friend Jordan. We all met up at the Ember Room for a Dim Sum brunch:

Afterward, David, his sisters and I decided to go bowling at Lucky Strike! I’m not even sure who suggested it but we all immediately agreed that it would be fun to play together:

Then we spent a bit of time hanging out at Eden’s apartment before we met up with David’s good friends Shane and Isaac for drinks and snacks at a new bar called The Brooklyneer:

Because Brooklyn, NY is all the rage, they have to have their own bar … in Manhattan! Loves it! The food and drink was amazing … bacon caramel popcorn, y’all. And any place that has a photobooth is ACES in my book :D

That was pretty much our day, night. This afternoon, many of David’s close friends are coming together for a fun brunch … which will be a blast, no question. I’m not sure what the plan is for tonight … but we may decide to see a show so … we shall see. I hope you are having a great Sunday … and that it is WARM wherever you are ;)

Kylie Minogue Kicks Off Her ‘Les Folies Tour 2011′ In Denmark

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 08:55 AM PST

The Goddess has risen!! Kylie Minogue kicked off her new Les Folies Tour 2011 in Herning, Denmark last night and, by all accounts (at least, by the accounts that I’ll let myself get a peek at), the show is a SMASH extravaganza of fabulosity! Because I’ll be seeing the show live in person myself, I’ve been **trying** to stay away from tour spoilers … but because I am a weak, weak person … I did allow myself to see some of the images and video that have come from last night’s opening night performance. So, if you dare, you can see below some of what Kylie has in store for this new tour.

Before the show got underway last night, Kylie recorded a cute video message to fans which she posted on her official website:

And then the show got underway. Here is a short article on the opening night show (that doesn’t contain too many spoilers) as well as some photos from the opening number, Aphrodite:

Riding on the back of winged horse Pegasus, Kylie Minogue kicked off her Aphrodite Les Folies world tour in Denmark last night. Looking like a goddess of love – in tune with her song Aphrodite – she ensured the show, in front of a capacity crowd at the Herning Arena, went off with a bang. The pop princess has gone all out to outdo previous tours, spending £5million alone on the stage which features super-powered water jets. Kylie, 42, starts in Europe before covering Asia and North America and ending Phase One in Las Vegas on May 22. It's expected she'll then carry on with dates across her native Australia before a final swoop of the UK. Last night Kylie said: "I'm overwhelmed with the love and talent that is going into this tour and I can't wait for fans to be a part of it." Nobody was left disappointed – the set list featured both songs from the new album and classics like Can't Get You Out of My Head. Vive La Kylie!

Hahaha … yeah, this snippet of info is very light on the deets and offers no more info than we already know. Kylie did upload a video collage to her official site that shows parts of the various performance numbers from the show. THIS video contains spoilery info that you should not see if you want to remain completely surprised about the show:

Here are some photos from the Les Folies Tour 2011 tourbook along with the show’s setlist:

The tour merchandise is already available for sale online HERE. In addition to a fun array of t-shirts, tote bags, stickers, etc, the tourbook is being offered in paperback version (for £15.00) and hardback version (for £30.00). Kylie NEVER disappoints when it comes to live concert performances and tour merchandise. I am DYING so hard right now!! I can’t even tell you how anxious I am to see Kylie in Berlin on March 1. I swear, cross my heart and hope to die, that I will refrain from seeing any other spoilery info. Unless it’s official footage released by Kylie, I’m going to stay away … and even if she starts releasing more footage from the show … I’m going to stay away. I only have 9 days ’til my show … I can wait … I think. As for this stuff presented here, what do y’all think? Are YOU seeing this Les Folies Tour 2011 in Europe? Are you as excited as I am?

Britney Spears & Family Leave LA For Kentwood

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 08:13 AM PST

Britney Spears, fresh from dropping her HOT new music video for Hold It Against Me, packed up her kiddies — Sean Preston and Jayden James — along with her hot loverman/agent Jason Trawick and made her way home to Kentwood, LA for a little rest and relaxation with her family. One of the first things that our dear Britney got up to once she arrived back home was make a BEELINE for the closest Sonic Drive-In … which only make me LOVE her even more ;)

Here are a few photos of Britwick and the boys navigating their way thru LAX Airport on their way out of town:

After the young’ns were dropped off with granny Lynne Spears and grandpappy Jamie Spears, Britney and Jason hopped in the car and got their booty’s down to Sonic:

Man, oh, man … I LOVE me some Sonic. The food there is fantastic … and now I’m craving a Sonic Fritos’s Pie. Damnit! But at least our dear Britney and Jason get to enjoy some of the sumptuous deliciousness for me. It’s unclear how long, exactly, Britwick and the boys will remain in Kentwood but I suspect it won’t be for long. Britney still has an album to finish, promote and release so … she should be back here in LA very soon. I do hope, tho, that Britney and her boys enjoy a nice time at home in Kentwood … but y’all come back soon now, ya hear?

First Look: The Invitation For The Royal Wedding Of Prince William & Kate Middleton

Posted: 20 Feb 2011 07:41 AM PST

Check your mailboxes, y’all … because the official invitations for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton have been mailed out. BUT, in case you didn’t receive an invite in the post, you can read on to see what the invitation looks like and read all the known information about this coveted 10 in. by 6 in. piece of paper.

With its gold lettering and gilded edge, this stiff white card has been arriving in the mailboxes of some of the best-connected people around the world. It’s the invitation heralding the wedding of William and Kate Middleton, and it’s gone
out to 1,900 people, from kings to charity leaders, to close family and university friends, old schoolmates and prime ministers around
the world. Fittingly for the celebration, it is decorated in gold writing and emblazed with a matching insignia of William’s
grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in whose name the invitation is sent. The edges of the card – which is about 10 in. by 6 in. – are beveled and then gilded.
The simple wording reads that the Lord Chamberlain has
been “commanded by the Queen” to invite the holder to the marriage at Westminster Abbey at 11 a.m. on April 29. As for the dress code, guests are asked to wear military uniform, a tailcoat or a business suit.
The invitations went out on Wednesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, 600 of the 1,900 guests also have been invited by the Queen to a reception that she is hosting immediately after the ceremony in the Abbey.
Later, around 300 of those 600 guests are invited to a
dinner hosted by William’s father, Prince Charles, in the evening at Buckingham Palace.
Prince William’s office is not releasing the invitations to those events, as they are private. The couple is expected to stay in London that night, before starting
their honeymoon on April 30.

Alas, I did not receive an invite to the wedding (well, that I know of … my mail is being collected for me back home in LA …) but it, nonetheless, is still very exciting to see what it looks like. Even tho this invite is prolly THE most sought-after pieced of paper right now, I kinda love how of the 1,900 people who got invites, only 600 will be going to the reception … and only 300 of those people will be going to dinner at Buckingham Palace. Ah, to be one of those lucky 300 … so cool. Things are gettin’ seriously close, y’all. This wedding will be here in no time. I can’t wait :D
