Mel Begins Community Service!

Posted: 20 Mar 2011 11:40 AM PDT

Let's hope he can put some positivity back into the world after all of the grief he's caused!

Mel Gibson got one lucky break when he pled no contest to simple battery - linked to his abuse of baby mama Oksana Grigorieva last year - and was sentenced to 16 hours of community service, which he is choosing to do at his ex-wife Robyn Gibson's charity, Mending Kids International, but it appears that some of the parents associated with the organization are more than supportive of his presence there!

One parent, James Nicol, has revealed that Mel was essential in aiding their Ethiopian-born son Berhanu get an expensive series of medical procedures to help fix severe spinal issues over the past few years, and is thrilled with any future assistance the actor can provide the charity!

He concludes:

"If Mel was coming over to our house to play ball with my son, I would not be the least bit concerned."

Wow. Here's hoping that we continue to hear such positive stories like this about the actor as he begins his community service.

He's getting off much more easy than he probably should, so we'd love to see him truly take advantage of this and make a sincere, conscious effort to better himself.

Her Minajesty, Too?! Nicki Being Considered For Judging Position On X Factor!

Wow! We could get behind this!

While Former Island Def Jam Music Group chairman L.A. Reid is the only confirmed judge so far for the upcoming US edition of Simon Cowell's X Factor, sources close to production have revealed that none other than Miz Nicki Minaj herself is in negotiations to join the panel!

The insider explains:

"Simon thinks Nicki is fantastic. She's sassy, she looks great and she has bags of personality. Nicki has a large following and she fits well with the ethos of the show, which plans to usher in a new generation of musical talent. 'X Factor' is aiming for a younger audience. Those aged 12 and over can audition, and [the English version has] launched successful artists from other genres of music than pop. This isn't a done deal yet, but Nicki would be great for the show. She fits the ideal that 'X Factor' will be exciting, vibrant and different. And the show would also be great for her career."

Definitely! Our only concern is that she is still a relatively new artist…but we think with the success of her debut album, Pink Friday, and her amazing personality, she should have NO problem fitting right in!

But who knows? We're still hearing that Nicole Scherzinger, Chezza, and Tommy Mottola are still in the running - not to mention Little J and Enrique as potential hosts - so we doubt we'll have anything else confirmed until the official announcement is made!

And let's hope that it's SOON! We're tired of being left in the dark!

What do U think?? Who should comprise the judges panel on the US X Factor??

Yes! Joseph Gordon Levitt CONFIRMED As The Holiday Killer In The Dark Knight Rises! MORE Casting News!

Excellent! This is really shaping up to honestly be the best addition to the franchise YET!

Just as we reported in February, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has officially signed on to appear in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, and will be taking on the role he was previously speculated to have as Alberto Falcone AKA The Holiday Killer, who is the estranged son of Tom Wilkinson's Mafia head honcho Carmine Falcone from Batman Begins!

As we previously explained:

"He returns to Gotham to take over the underworld once fiercly ruled by his father before the arrival of Batman."

We cannot wait to see how he plays this one, and how Catwoman and Bane tie into it!

Despite confirmation from Warner Brothers, sources close to production are also revealing that indie actress Juno Temple, who appeared in Atonement and Kaboom, has been picked up in a supporting role as a "street-smart Gotham girl."

Awesome! The only criticism we can think to give is that we have to wait over a year to see it!

Ugh! It will be worth the wait, though! We can already tell!

What do U think?? Are U excited for The Dark Knight Rises??

LiLo's Thinking About Taking The Plea Deal!

Smart girl! We knew she'd come around!

Despite her reported refusal to cooperate, sources close to Lindsay Lohan have revealed that she is FINALLY starting to realize that she can't avoid jail time, and is now "seriously considering" Judge Keith Schwartz's plea deal in her felony grand theft trial.

The formerly hard-pAArtying starlet is STILL maintaining her innocence in the whole mess, but has now begun to realize that a three month jail sentence - which will most likely get reduced to 19 days due to overcrowding - is a lot safer than the risk of a more severe sentence if she actually does go forward with the trial!

Exactly!

Well, she's got until Wednesday to make up her mind. Here's hoping that she makes the right choice!

Brit Brit Back At The Baseball Field!

Third week in a row!

Despite Britney Spears' new album, Femme Fatale, dropping a little over a week from now, she once again made the time to be present at her son Sean Preston's little league game yesterday afternoon in Calabasas (above), along with boyfriend Jason Trawick and son Jayden James!

Look at that kid's ADORABLE face! Sean must be so thrilled to know his entire family is there - including his dad/coach KFed - cheering him on! And our Brit Brit looks so proud of her little man!

Obviously, she knows the importance of being involved in her children's life, and we can't commend her enough for always making them her top priority!

Hope you all had a nice afternoon together! Who won the game?!

Oh man! Those costumes are absolutely WILD!

Katy Perry kicked off the UK leg of her California Dreams tour over the weekend at the Hammersmith Apollo, and as you can see (above and below), gurlfriend was werking all kind of looks during the show - most notably a full on peacock tail, cat ears, and her now-iconic candy dress!

We love it! We're not going to lie, though…we would LOVE to see that whip cream can bra one more time!

LOLz! This is going to be one helluva show!

We can't wait to see for ourselves!

Keep up the good work, gurl!
