Prince Harry Does British ‘GQ’ Magazine

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 01:35 PM PDT

Prince Harry is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of British GQ magazine along side members of the Walking with the Wounded team that is planning an unaided walk to the North Pole in an effort to raise money for a charity that benefits British military servicemen and women. Henry is featured on 2 different covers for the mag … which you can check out below.

In a world exclusive for the May issue, GQ meets Prince Harry and the Walking with the Wounded team as they prepare for their epic unaided trek to the North Pole, in an attempt to raise £2 million for charities focusing on the retraining and rehabilitation of injured British service personnel. The team, including four wounded servicemen injured in Afghanistan, have been given a 40 to 60 per cent chance of succeeding by polar experts, so with the odds stacked against them, they discuss the motivation behind the trip with GQ. Prince Harry is Patron of Walking with the Wounded, and the team comprises Captain Guy Disney, Private Jaco van Gass, Sergeant Steve Young, Captain Martin Hewitt, Founders Edward Parker and Simon Dalglish, Logistics and Training Guide Henry Cookson, and Polar Guide Inge Solheim. Harry and the team were photographed by David Bailey in January 2011. A special edition front cover will feature HRH Prince Harry, with a donation from each issue sold going to the Walking with the Wounded charity.

What a great event! I understand that Prince Henry will only participate in a portion of the trek to the North Pole because he has to be back in London for his big brother’s wedding next month. I have no doubt that the Walking with the Wounded team will raise the £2 million they are hoping for … and more! Henry looks great on this cover, as do his Walking with the Wounded compatriots. I might have to get me a couple copies of this particular issue of GQ ;) Click HERE to read the full online version of GQ‘s feature article on Prince Harry and Walking with the Wounded.

Ricky Martin Busts Out The Beefcake For His New Tour

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 01:17 PM PDT

Yesterday I posted photos from Ricky Martin‘s first night performance of his Musica+Alma+Sexo World Tour and I made a few cheeky comments about Ricky‘s silly leather outfit (comments that I stand by). BUT, today we get to see photos from the second night of his tour and these photos show that Ricky doesn’t wear his leather outfit for the entire duration of his show. At some point, Ricky busts out the beefcake on stage … which is a much better look for him.

HMMM … as I mentioned yesterday, I think David is going to make me go see Ricky Martin in concert when he brings his show to SoCal in a few weeks. If this is the sort of thing that is to be expected from Ricky‘s live show, well, I guess I could be convinced to check out the show in person. Let’s just hope that Ricky loses a lot of the leather he wears on stage thruout the show. That’s a look that I could be down with.

Good Charlotte Rock The ‘House’

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 01:02 PM PDT

Last night David and I made our way to the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA to see my boys Good Charlotte live in concert. GC have been on the road for a few weeks now and they finally brought their show to SoCal. Last night’s show was the second to last of the Good Charlotte North American Tour 2011 and then they head off to the Philippines and abroad. I managed to snap some fun pics and some great video, which you can check out below.

I’ve been to many shows at the House of Blues but I’ve never seen the place quite as packed as it was last night. Joel and Benji took a lot of time during the show to express their thanks and gratitude to all the loyal fans in the house, a sentiment that was greatly appreciated by every single person in the audience last night. Here are a few videos that I shot of the show last night … enjoy:

Little Things:

I Just Wanna Live:

Damnit (Blink 182 cover):

We had an absolute blast. It is always a pleasure to see Good Charlotte live in concert. It’s crazy how long the guys have been killin’ it … I think they mentioned that their debut album came out 11 years ago. I love that they are still going strong, still packin’ in the crowds and still singing from the heart. Love those guys!

Later today, David and I are meeting up with Tam, Ollie, Rob and Caleb for a movie date and hang out session. It’s been far too long since we’ve seen those kids so I’m really looking forward to spending time with them. I hope your weekend is going well … Happy Sunday!!

Amy Adams Has Been Cast As Lois Lane In The New Superman Film

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 12:03 PM PDT

In January we learned that actor Henry Cavill won the role of Superman in the upcoming Zack Snyder-directed reboot of the Superman film franchise followed by the news in February that Kevin Costner was cast as Jonathan Pa Kent and the news in March that Diane Lane was cast as Martha Ma Kent. Today we learn that actress Amy Adams has been cast in the leading female role of Lois Lane. At last, Clark Kent/Superman has found his leading lady.

This just in — three-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams will play journalist Lois Lane in Hollywood's revival of "Superman." The 36-year-old star got the news on Sunday from director Zack Snyder, who phoned her from Paris … There had been a crush of Hollywood interest in the lead female role in the Warner Bros. project but Snyder said that after meeting with Adams, she was the clear choice to take on a character that dates back to 1938 and has long represented the strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man – even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound. "There was a big, giant search for Lois," Snyder said. "For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it." Snyder declined to discuss the precise prominence of Lois in the story or any plot details about the film but he said the role is "a linchpin" to the project and that he considers it essential that Lois — an FDR-era creation – arrives on screen in 2012 with contemporary appeal and spirit. "It goes back to what I've said about Superman and making him really understandable for today. What's important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today's audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him [in tone and substance]."

Yes, I am very happy with this casting. While I wouldn’t necessarily have pictured Amy in the role of Lois, I can see how she is a great choice for the role. I generally like Amy Adams in everything I’ve seen her in so I think she will make a perfect Lois Lane. I really hated Kate Bosworth as Lois in Superman Returns so here’s hoping Amy will NOT look to her performance for inspiration. Now that Superman and his lady have been cast, along with the Kents … I guess we’ll soon be hearing about villain casting. I’m assuming Superman‘s arch nemesis Lex Luthor will be featured in the film … I wonder who they’ll get to play him. As for Amy‘s casting, what do y’all think? Do you approve of Amy Adams as Lois Lane?

MTV Will Air A Special Titled ‘Britney Spears: I Am The Femme’

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 11:27 AM PDT

On Friday night, Britney Spears performed 2 mini-concerts at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV that were filmed by MTV for an upcoming documentary special to promote the release of her new album Femme Fatale (due out on Tuesday). In addition to filming her live performances, MTV also filmed some behind the scenes footage that will also be featured in her upcoming MTV special. The documentary, titled Britney Spears: I Am The Femme, will air on MTV on April 3. Read the deets and check out video of Britney‘s full performance of Hold It Against Me on Friday night.

After a killer set from “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D on Friday night (March 25), a montage of Britney Spears’ best video moments played to a hyped crowd at Rain nightclub inside the Palms Casino and Resort. Once the videos wrapped, the crowd went even crazier as the Femme Fatale herself hit the stage. Spears sported a stunning sequined bodysuit and performed her first song of the night, lead single “Hold It Against Me.” Flanked by sexy male dancers, she sashayed her way through the song, which included sexy hair-tossing and a wind machine. For her second song of the night, Spears debuted the will.i.am-produced track “Big Fat Bass.” Her dancers hit the stage in bright yellow, while Spears opted for a body-hugging latex bodysuit. She emerged from a speaker box, and the appearance had her fans screaming. The track was remixed to include past hits like “3,” “Slave 4 U” and “Gimme More.” She danced around the stage and climbed up on speakers as she danced to the track. Britney kicked it up a few futuristic notches for her latest club banger, “Till the World Ends.” The stage was filled with ladders, LED lighting, dancers and Spears in a black latex bodysuit covered in red lights. She clearly was having a good time, smiling to her fans. Her choreography was decidedly sexy, including flirty dance moves with her male dancers. At the end, Spears ascended the ladders and ended up on a platform, gyrating from above the room. As fireworks lit the stage, Spears danced and tossed her hair as the song closed. The room was filled with electricity and excitement. The performance was being taped by MTV for a special airing next week … Britney Spears: I Am The Femme is set to air April 3rd on MTV. Fans will get special access to behind the scenes footage of Britney recording her new album Femme Fatale, shooting a music video and preparing for her surprise Vegas performance … A teaser will debut Tuesday on MTV, the same day Spears’ latest album, Femme Fatale, hits stores.

It’s a shame the bass is so overpowering in this video because it would’ve been nice to hear the song without all the jarring feedback … but at least we know that we’ll be able to watch these performances in the I Am The Femme special set to air on MTV next Sunday night. Today, Britney will perform another mini-concert in San Francisco, CA (which will be shown on Good Morning America on Tuesday) and then she will make appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday and Tuesday. Femme Fatale is almost released!! All this fun promo stuff makes the album’s release all the more exciting. Welcome to Britney Spears Week, are y’all ready?

Aretha Franklin Celebrates Her Birthday With A Few Famous Friends

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 11:00 AM PDT

Earlier this week we saw photos of a very slimmed down Aretha Franklin sitting courtside with some famous sports friends at a NY Knicks basketball game and today we get to see Aretha celebrating her recent 69th birthday with a few of her other famous friends. Aretha, who reportedly lost 85 lbs. over the course of just a few months, looked mostly happy to be in the close company of her famous BFFs. Check out some photos from her soirée earlier this week.

She has lost a Aretha Franklin 85lbs in recent months, however the diva faced serious temptation as she attended her birthday party in New York last night. The Queen of Soul was presented with a huge cake as she celebrated turning 69 with a star-studded group of friends. She showed off her noticeably thinner frame in a flowing white and gold gown as she blew out the candles. Later she gave a brief but rousing performance in front of her friends at a Central Park hotel. Tony Bennett, Smokey Robinson, music mogul Clive Davis, Bette Midler and Gayle King were among the celebrities on hand to pay tribute to her. ‘It’s a fabulous moment,’ said Franklin. Bennett, who called Franklin ‘one of a kind’, was one of those who came with a present – and his was unique. ‘I also paint, so she knows about that,’ he said. ‘A long time ago, she said, ‘I’d love to have you do a painting of me,’ and I remembered that, and when I heard I was coming here, I just knocked off a quick sketch and gave it to her tonight.’ More than 100 friends and family gathered to celebrate Franklin, who just a few months ago underwent surgery for an ailment she has declined to disclose. In recent weeks, she has made more public appearances and is set to resume her stage performances in May. At the party, Franklin seemed full of energy, greeting guests and dancing to the music.

LOL! It really does sound like Aretha had a great birthday … but the photo with Bette Midler just kills me. It’s prolly just the way the camera caught her expression but doesn’t she look less than thrilled to be gettin’ a smooch from the Divine Miss M? Again, I’m very happy to see that Aretha‘s surgery scare turned out to be nothing more than some sort of weight loss procedure … and she can deny it all she wants but there is no way she lost 85 lbs. in 3 months without some sort of surgical help. Whatever the case may be, now that Aretha lost all of that dangerous weight (however she lost it) she has a bright and healthier future to look forward to. This world is not yet ready to say goodbye to its Queen of Soul. 69 and lookin’ fine, indeed.

Gwen Stefani Steps Out With Her Fashion Forward Family

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 10:03 AM PDT

Gwen Stefani and hubby Gavin Rossdale packed up their sons — Kingston James McGregor & Zuma Nesta Rock — for a family trip to the California Science Center this weekend and as you can see from the photos below, the fashionista family used the outing as an opportunity to werq it out! We are no stranger to seeing young Kingston James showing off his fashion forwardness and this outing was no exception. Homie rocked a furry vest which he expertly converted into a fun & fashionable cape. Too fabulous!

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale decided to take their sons for a family day out at the California Science Centre, but Kingston seemed more interested in playing superheroes. The couple's four-year-old son was wearing a fur waistcoat that he turned into a cape, which looked more like something his mother would normally wear. But Kingston made it his own over a DC Comics Justice League T-shirt and spread the waistcoat like a superhero cloak. The Justice League is a team of fictional superheroes that appear in comic books published by DC Comics and include Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman among others. And the youngster seems to have a passion for imitating his favourite characters. His little brother Zuma, two, decided to let Kingston steal the limelight and was more interested in being picked up by Gwen and Gavin as they strolled around Little Tokyo Town in Los Angeles after their trip to the Science Centre. Gwen, 41, was also making waves with her wardrobe choice by stepping out in a black and white houndstooth printed dress. The singer and fashion designer teamed up the ensemble with knee-high black boots, a matching handbag and little black jacket. While rocker Gavin kept his look casual in jeans and an army green anorak jacket. And the children’s nanny also joined them, who followed Kingston’s lead by wearing a Superman T-shirt too. Meanwhile, the No Doubt star, who draws inspiration for her L.A.M.B. fashion collection from Japanese culture, has recently made a huge donation to the tsunami and earthquake hit country. She has donated $1million to Save the Children's Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Emergency Fund to help in the relief and recovery effort. Stefani said: 'I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture. The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.'

I seriously love this little kid. Altho he appears to have a bit of an attitude, Kingston‘s fabulosity outshines pretty much everything else … including the rest of his family. Gwen seriously has the coolest little family. The way her children are allowed to express themselves is really remarkable. I’m telling you, Kingston will grow up to be a major force in the fashion world … you can just tell. Damn … now I gotta go find myself a vintage fur vest just so I can keep up with the trends of this 5 year old.

Reese Witherspoon & Jim Toth Got Hitched!

Posted: 27 Mar 2011 09:28 AM PDT

A couple of weeks ago we learned that enfianced couple Reese Witherpsoon and Jim Toth would be getting married on Saturday March 26 and right on schedule the couple did just that on her farm in Ojai, CA. All week long we’ve seen photos of the wedding preparations that were underway ahead of the big day and, by all accounts, the ceremony went off without a hitch. Lots of guests, lots of doves and, of course, the newlywed Mr. and Mrs. James Toth enjoyed a very special day here in SoCal yesterday evening.

Reese Witherspoon is legally married. The Oscar-winning Legally Blonde actress, 35, tied the knot with her very own leading man, entertainment agent Jim Toth, 40, on Saturday evening, her rep confirms exclusively to PEOPLE. The couple, who became engaged in December, tied the knot in a private ceremony at Witherspoon’s ranch estate in Ojai, Calif. A pre-wedding cocktail hour took place before the 20-minute ceremony, which started a bit late. Witherspoon walked down the aisle to “Here Comes the Bride.” Those in attendance included Witherspoon’s children (with her first husband Ryan Phillippe), Ava, 11 and Deacon, 7, as well as Renée Zellweger, Sean Penn with Scarlett Johansson, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan, and Alyssa Milano and her CAA agent husband, David Bugliari. Tucked away between rolling hills, the Ojai Valley property offers Witherspoon and her kids plenty of privacy. Sources have told PEOPLE that the kids bonded easily with Toth early on in his relationship with their mom. “He’s a grownup who’s really ready to take the next step,” a source told PEOPLE about Toth around the time of the pair’s engagement. “He’s a family-oriented guy, and that’s all she ever really wanted.” And in the run-up to the nuptials, Witherspoon was “very giddy,” added the insider, and “excited to see what the future holds.”

I understand the couple went to great lengths to keep their nuptials an intimate and classy affair for all of their guests. It sounds like they had a really special day. I expect we’ll be seeing the newlyweds’ wedding photo in some magazine by next week … but for now, the ceremony is something they can treasure privately, all on their own. Let’s send our warmest congrats and all our love to the happily married Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth!!
