It Looks Like Britney Spears Will Co-Headline Her Tour With Enrique Iglesias

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 01:40 PM PDT

Yesterday we heard a rumor that Britney Spears would be co-headlining her upcoming Summer tour with another big name act and today we learn not only that the rumor is very likely true but we also learn that her co-headliner will very likely be Enrique Iglesias. A company that makes promo flyers for concert events posted a flyer for a Britney Spears & Enrique Iglesias show to take place on August 5. While there has been NO official confirmation about any part of Britney‘s tour, this flyer leak seems to be a good indication that Britney and Enrique will be touring together this Summer.

Naturally things like this can be faked … but I don’t believe this flyer company would go to these lengths just for a hoax. It’s more likely that they posted the materials online before any official announcement was made, inadvertently letting the cat out of the bag early. I wouldn’t be surprised if Britney officially announced this tour with Enrique when she appears on The Ellen DeGeneres Show or Jimmy Kimmel Live next week. Additionally, a rumored set of concert dates has also leaked to the Internets:

July 11: Seattle, Washington (Key Arena)
July 13: Vancouver, British Columbia (Rogers Arena)
July 15: Denver, Colorado (Pepsi Center)
July 17: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Oklahoma City Arena)
July 19: Salt Lake City, Utah (EnergySolutions Arena)
July 22: Edmonton, Alberta (Rexall Place)
July 23: Calgary, Alberta (Scotiabank Saddledome)
July 25: Phoenix, Arizona (US Airways Center)
July 27: Las Vegas, Nevada (Mandalay Bay)
July 30: Portland, Oregon (Rose Garden)
August 1: Oakland, California (Oracle Arena)
August 3: San Jose, California (HP Pavilion at San Jose)
August 5: Anaheim, California (Honda Center)
August 7: Los Angeles, California (Staples Center)
August 10: Dallas, Texas (American Airlines Center)
August 12: Houston, Texas (Toyota Center)
August 13: San Antonio, Texas (AT&T Center)
August 16: New Orleans, Louisiana (New Orleans Arena)
August 18: Atlanta, Georgia (Philips Arena)
August 20: Miami, Florida (AmericanAirlines Arena)
August 22: Orlando, Florida (Amway Center)
August 24: Charlotte, North Carolina (Time Warner Cable Arena)
August 27: Washington D.C., Virginia (Verizon Center)
August 29: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Wells Fargo Center)
September 2: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Consol Energy Center)
September 4: Uniondale, New York (Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum)
September 6: Newark, New Jersey (Prudential Center)
September 8: New York City, New York (Madison Square Garden)
September 10: Boston, Massachusetts (TD Garden)
September 11: Buffalo, New York (HSBC Arena)
September 13: Toronto, Ontario (Air Canada Centre)
September 14: Montreal, Quebec (Montreal, Quebec)
September 15: Auburn Hills, Michigan (The Palace Of Auburn Hills)
September 17: Cleveland, Ohio (Quicken Loans Arena)
September 19: Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Bradley Center)
September 21: Indianapolis, Indiana (Conseco Fieldhouse)
September 25: Columbus, Ohio (Nationwide Arena)
September 27: Chicago, Illionis (United Center)

I’m not sure I believe these dates because the August 5th date listed on the flyer above does not coincide with the August 5th date in this set of tourdates. At this point, all of this is speculation and guesswork but … yeah, we’ll be hearing something official soon. Last night, Britney warmed up her live performance skills with a mini-concert in Las Vegas but soon she’ll be taking a full show on the road … apparently, with Enrique Iglesias. I’m not sure how I feel about this, if true. What do y’all think?

Ricky Martin Kicks Off His New Concert Tour In Puerto Rico

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 01:27 PM PDT

Ricky Martin kicked off his new Musica+Alma+Sexo World Tour in his homeland of Puerto Rico last night and he unveiled his new leather daddy look on stage. I’m thinkin’ Ricky‘s outfit is meant to look like a badass motorcyle outfit but, IMHO, it ended up looking more silly than badass. Check out the photos below and see for yourselves.

Oh, Ricky. This outfit looks like he got it at a Backstreet Boy garage sale. Yeah, I’m not really feelin’ it. Ricky has 3 more nights in Puerto Rico before he brings his tour to the mainland for a tour of the rest of the US before he takes the show international. David is really wanting to see Ricky in concert when he comes here to LA … so … I might be seeing this outfit up close and personal. Um … can’t wait.

Drew Barrymore Really, Really Loves Making Out With Will Kopelman

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 01:14 PM PDT

Drew Barrymore and her new boyfriend Will Kopelman have been flaunting their romance all over SoCal in the past week or so. From restaurants, to stores, to sporting events, Drew and Will have been seen makin’ out all over town. Last night, the couple took their lurvefest show courtside at the Staples Center where they rooted for the LA Lakers in between make-out sessions.

Geeze Louise, get a room you two! It is quite clear that these two are really LOVING the honeymoon phase of their new relationship. While I really miss seeing Drew with Justin Long, I am happy to see her lookin’ so enamored of a new dude. Let’s hope this new love is one that can stand the test of time and won’t burn out sooner rather than later.

Orchestral Manoeuvrings In The Dark

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 12:56 PM PDT

David and I made our way out to the Music Box in Hollywood, CA last night to see Oh Land and Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark (OMD) perform live in concert. Last night’s show was the third time I saw Oh Land live in concert and it was really great to see her really entertaining a huge crowd of people who were likely not there to see her. The Music Box was packed with OMD fans anxious to see the band perform here in LA for the first time in 23 years and they really seemed to enjoy Oh Land‘s performance last night. Check out some photos and video from the show below.

I wasn’t able to get up close to the stage but I really did have a great time at the show. I’ve been a big fan of OMD for years and they really sounded amazing. Since I got to see Duran Duran and OMD this week, it was like I teleported back to the 1980′s. So fun:

Here is video of OMD performing their biggest hit, If You Leave:

This was really big fan favorite last night … even David, who is not a big 80′s music fan, recognized and loved this song. The show was really fab.

Tonight, David and I will be making our way to the House of Blues to see Good Charlotte live in concert. I haven’t seen the GC boys on stage in years … so it’ll be great to see them again. I hope YOU are having a great weekend. Happy Saturday!!

David Beckham Does ‘Fantastic Man’ Magazine

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 12:16 PM PDT

David Beckham is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Fantastic Man magazine. As you can see from the coverphoto and accompanying photospread below, Becks is rockin’ the stylishly geek look for the mag. Classy and sexy, Becks makes a fantastic covermodel for the new issue of Fantastic Man magazine.

He normally leaves the magazine shoots up to his fashionista wife Victoria. But footballer David Beckham made a rare appearance as a ‘cover boy’ for men’s glossy Fantastic Man. The 35-year-old poses for the glossy a shoot by Alasdair McLellan at a pie and mash shop in David’s native East London. However, unlike his racy shots for Armani underwear and his fragrance ads, David is fully-clothed, dressed head-to-toe in designer gear. In the accompanying interview, the father-of-three speaks about his love for the traditional Cockney dish. He said: ‘Being an East End boy, I do miss my pie and mash. I've been living out of England for the last eight or nine years. Whenever I can get down there, I get down there.’

Yes … he does look great in these very stylish outfits but it would’ve been nice if they threw in a couple of less-clothed photo options ;) As much as I love this magazine feature, I’m not all that happy to hear Becks wax nostalgic on his love of England. With rumors going around that the Beckham family may be planning a move back to the UK, any talk of his homeland love makes me worry that he and the family will move back to London. Still, it’s most important that the family be happy … tho I think they’d be MUCH happier if they just stayed put here in the US :D This issue of Fantastic Man hits newsstands next week.

What Is Up With Sandra Bullock’s Face?

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 11:22 AM PDT

Sandra Bullock surfaced on the streets of NYC this week and she was spotted with a HUGE lump jutting out of the side of her jaw. Now, either Sandra was squirreling away nuts, she got socked in the face or she underwent some type of oral surgery … but whatever the case may be, this lumpy lump looks awfully painful. Ouch!

She has made the People Magazine’s 50 most beautiful people list twice. But Sandra Bullock looked less than attractive as she left her home in New York yesterday to run a few errands. In fact the 46-year-old Oscar winning actress was sporting a rather unusual lump on the right hand side of her face as she made the dash out of her West Village townhouse. Wearing jeans with a black puffer jacket and a black hat pulled down low over her face, the actress appeared to be trying to go incognito. The weird looking lump could, however, be due to extra tension in Sandra’s face and she appears to be gritting her teeth. The star has looked increasingly stressed in recent months juggling work commitments and motherhood.

LOL! No, I sincerely doubt this lump is the result of the “stress of motherhood”. It’s more likely she had a tooth extracted or something. In any event, this lump is not a good look for Sandy. Here’s hoping she heals well … and quick … cuz, YIKES! this big lump is kinda frightening.

Former Vice Presidential Candidate Geraldine Ferraro Passes Away At 75

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 10:06 AM PDT

Very sad news to pass along today … Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro, who was the first female candidate to run for Vice President here in the US on a major party ticket back in 1984, passed away today at the age of 75. It may not seem like a big deal now but it was such a revolutionary event when Ferraro was nominated as the Democratic candidate for Vice President of the US back in the mid-80′s. She will always be remembered as the FIRST and she will be sorely missed.

Geraldine Ferraro, the Democratic congresswoman who became the first woman on a major party presidential ticket as Walter Mondale’s running mate in 1984, died Saturday at the age of 75, NBC News confirmed. Ferraro died at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston of a blood cancer after a 12-year illness, according to a statement from her family cited by various news organizations. Ferraro was a telegenic, articulate and fiery three-term New York congresswoman when Mondale picked her from the male-dominated U.S. House of Representatives. Ferraro’s presence on the Democratic ticket generated excitement on the campaign trail, particularly among females of all ages … “For two centuries, candidates have run for president. Not one from a major party ever asked a woman to be his running mate — until Walter Mondale,” she said. “Campaigns, even if you lose them, do serve a purpose,” Ferraro said. “My candidacy has said the days of discrimination are numbered. American women will never be second-class citizens again.” Though best known for her political achievements, Ferraro started her career in public service upon graduation from Marymount Manhattan College in Manhattan, where she received her B.A. in English in 1952. She became a New York City schoolteacher, teaching second grade at P.S. 85 in Astoria, Queens, part of the district she would later represent in Congress. While teaching, Ms. Ferraro earned a law degree from Fordham Law School. Ferraro spent 13 years at home raising her children, during which time she also practiced law pro bono in Queens County Family Court on behalf of women and children and served as President of the Queens County Women’s Bar Association. In 1974, she was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney in the Queens County District Attorney’s Office. There, she started the Special Victims Bureau, where she supervised the prosecution of sex crimes, child abuse, domestic violence and violent crimes against senior citizens. Ferraro was first elected to Congress from New York’s Ninth Congressional District in Queens in 1978, and served three terms in the House of Representatives before being tapped for the Vice Presidential run … Ferraro is survived by her husband of 50 years, John A. Zaccaro; her three children and their spouses, Donna Zaccaro Ullman and Paul Ullman, John Zaccaro and Anne Rasmussen Zaccaro, and Laura Zaccaro Lee and Josh Lee; and her eight grandchildren, Matthew and Natalie Ullman, Elizabeth, Samantha and John Zaccaro, and Daisy, Alexander and Jane Lee. Ms. Ferraro resided in New York City.

I was in elementary school back in 1984 and I distinctly remember that Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro won the election that year in our class poll and she will always be a winner in my eyes. I was very lucky to meet Ferraro when she spoke at my political science class when I was in college and it was truly a honor to meet the woman and shake her hand. Despite her VP loss in 1984, Geraldine Ferraro managed to kick open the political doors and paved the way for other female political candidates to find success. Women like Secretary of State Hillary Clinton owe a debt of gratitude to Ferraro. I know this isn’t really gossy news but as a student of Political Science, I could not in good conscience fail to pay homage to such a great woman. Let’s send our love and deepest condolences to Ferraro‘s family today.

Bret Michaels Sues The Tony Awards For His Head Injury

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 09:40 AM PDT

In June of 2009, Bret Michaels and Poison performed at the 63rd Annual Tony Awards and during that performance, he inadvertently walked into a moving part of the set and banged up his face pretty bad. At the time, Michaels complained publicly that the folks at the Tony Awards didn’t show him much sympathy for his injury going so far as to issue a public statement on the incident. Over a year later, in August of 2010, Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage that almost killed him … and now he is suing the Tony Awards, blaming his on stage accident on his health problems.

The June 2009 Tony Awards scenery mishap that resulted in a head injury to Bret Michaels has now erupted into a lawsuit that the musician filed Friday in Los Angeles, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. Michaels’s attorney, Alex Weingarten, issued the following press statement, reports EW.com: “The Tony Awards dropped a piece of the stage on Bret's head, and then instead of doing the right thing, joked about it and played it off for ratings … Bret never wanted to file a lawsuit, but the Tony Awards have left us with no choice. They must be held accountable for almost killing Bret, and that is what we are going to do.” In the suit against CBS and the Tony Awards for unspecified damages, Michaels – who ever since the incident has suffered precarious health – claims that despite his asking producers for instructions on where to stand on the Radio City Music Hall stage during his performance, he was only told to “simply exit the stage from the rear.” The musician, who performed at the Tonys with his band Poison and the cast of Rock of Ages, fell down after being hit by a piece of scenery following his performance of Poison’s hit “Nothin’ But a Good Time.” He was knocked to the ground, and fractured his nose. The singer also required three stitches in his lip. According to the suit, “Michaels was never told that the scenery piece would be descending or given any warning of the existence of the dangers it presented. Quite the opposite, Michaels specifically asked for instructions regarding how to exit after his performance and was just told to walk off the rear of the stage – in what was ultimately the danger zone." In the suit, Michaels takes issues with producers telling the press afterwards that his missed his mark. The suit also connect the injury to Michaels’s subarachnoid hemorrhage. So far, there has been no comment from CBS or the Tony Awards.

To refresh your memories, here is video of Bret Michaels‘s accident at the Tony Awards back in 2009:

At the time, I never thought the accident was a big deal. From the looks of the video, it appears that Bret just walked face first into the set piece because he misjudged how quickly it was coming down (his other bandmates managed to not walk into the set piece). Now, I have no idea if it is medically possible for an injury in June of 2009 to manifest itself in August of 2010 but it does seem at the very least feasible that Bret‘s head injury at the Tonys led to his brain hemorrhage over a year later. My guess is that this suit will never go to trial. If the parties are smart, they’ll reach a settlement and let this public lawsuit go away. Still, if Bret really feels that the Tony Awards are responsible for his near death, I’m not sure he’ll settle for anything less than what he thinks his life is worth. We’ll have to see how this legal feud turns out. Which side are you on? Team Tonys or Team Michaels?

Watch: Britney Spears Performs A Mini-Concert In Las Vegas

Posted: 26 Mar 2011 08:47 AM PDT

Earlier in the week we learned that Britney Spears would be making an appearance in Las Vegas, NV last night and then we learned that her appearance would actually be a mini-concert performance at the Palms Hotel and Casino. Britney ended up performing twice last night … first at a ticketed event at 8PM and then at a public event at midnight. She performed 3 songs — Hold It Against Me, Till the World Ends and Big Fat Bass. Check out photos and video from her return to the performance stage last night.

As the hour grew closer for Britney‘s performance, photos of the event started making their way to Twitter. The first thing we got to see was the stage set-up for her performance:

And then Britney came out and the photos of her performance started making their way to Twitter:

She looked fabulous. Last night’s performance was her first since she wrapped her world tour The Circus starring Britney Spears a few years ago.

As I mentioned above, Britney performed 3 songs last night … here are video clips of varying length of each of the songs she performed:

Hold It Against Me:

Till The World Ends:

3 / Big Fat Bass:

Blah! I wish the clips were longer, less shaky and filmed length-wise but … I’ll take what I can get :) It’s hard to really gauge her performance from these shaky-clips but it looks like she put on a great show! I suspect she will perform these same songs in San Francisco, CA on Sunday … and that performance will be shown on Good Morning America early Tuesday morning — on the very day her album Femme Fatale is released in stores (PLUS, Britney will make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live on album release day as well). It is so amazing to see Britney back on the performance stage. I WISH I could’ve been at her performance last night or be in San Fran tomorrow but … ugh, I guess I’ll have to live vicariously thru all the folks who have generously been sharing their photos and videos online. I can’t wait to see and hear more! Britney is so back … and it is glorious!!
