Adrianne Palicki Will Play Lady Jaye In ‘G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes’

Back in May we learned the sad news that Adrianne Palicki will NOT portray the new Wonder Woman this Fall after NBC decided NOT to pick-up the David E. Kelley penned series … but today we learn better news for Palicki. She has been cast as Lady Jaye in the upcoming sequel film G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.

Friday Nights Lights series star Adrianne Palicki will play the female lead in the Paramount sequel to G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes. She’ll play Lady Jaye and joins a cast that includes Channing Tatum, as well as Dwayne Johnson, who signed on to play the role of Roadblock in the Jon M. Chu-directed film. Ray Park is expected to reprise his Snake Eyes character, Byung Hun-lee is expected to bring back Storm Shadow, and RZA just joined the film. The studio’s casting quickly; they need the film for next summer because the Star Trek sequel won’t be ready and this rebooted film and World War Z are prime candidates to fill summer slots … As for Palicki, she’s free because the Wonder Woman pilot didn’t get picked up. She’ll next be seen starring in Red Dawn and her screen credits include Legion, Women in Trouble and Lone Star.

As you may recall, we learned early last month that Dwayne The Rock Johnson is up for the role of Roadblock in Cobra Strikes … which is fine but I LOVE that Adrienne nabbed the role of Lady Jaye. It’s a bummer that her Wonder Woman dreams got dashed so I’m happy she’ll get to play a superhero in the new GI Joe film. Good for her :D

#LOFNOTC FTW!

Last night turned out to be a very fun night … totally unplanned. I basically was planning to be a Loser of Friday Night on my couch but after I heard that the amazing Amanda Palmer was DJing in the Losers of Friday Night on their Computers room on Turntable, I had to join in the fun. The room was packed with awesome people, including author Neil Gaiman, and the music was fun as Hell. In the history of the LOFNOTC, it was prolly the best night of all.


I will likely never ever get to DJ a party with Amanda Palmer in real life but last night, I got close … it was so fun! As I mentioned before, I have fallen in LOVE with the new music-oriented social network site Turntable and last night reminded me of the awesome potential of the site. Anyways … I spent quite a few hours DJing last night (and a few this morning) so, yeah, that was my Friday.

Tonight, Darion and I are going to the Anime Expo to see the world’s first totally holographic popstar Hatsune Miku live in concert. I’ve heard “she’s” amazing so … I’ll let you know. Happy Saturday!!

‘Femme Fatale’ By Britney Spears Is Voted The Best Album (So Far) Of 2011

MTV conducted a poll to find out what people think the BEST album (so far) of 2011 is and unsurprisingly Britney Spears‘s new album Femme Fatale was by and far the top choice. Our dear Britney beats Adele, Beyoncé and others. Click below to see the breakdown and see what other albums made this list … so far.

It was an incredibly tight race right up until the very end, but only one album could be named your Favorite Album of the Year (So Far)! And the winner is … Femme Fatale by Britney Spears. When we say things were close, we mean it: As of yesterday afternoon, when we last checked in on the polls, Lady Gaga's Born This Way was leading with a slim 2 percent lead over Brit Brit. But Miss Spears' fans came to their diva's rescue and she persevered in the home stretch, pulling ahead of Lady G by a full 5 percent. Gaga and Britney left everyone else in the dust. The two accounted for over 85 percent of the total vote, leaving Beyonce's latest, 4 (which, in fairness, we should note was only released this week), to grab just under 10 percent of the remaining votes. Adele, Bad Meets Evil and Chris Brown split what was left pretty evenly, with each album pulling in less than 2 percent of the vote. Check out the results of our Favorite Album of the Year (So Far) poll below.

31,201 votes were cast and broke down like this:

Scarlett Johansson & Ryan Reynolds Are Officially Divorced

Last December we learned that Scarlett Johansson officially filed for divorce from her hubby of a copule of years Ryan Reynolds and today we learn the sad news that the couple’s divorce is finally official … ScRyan are dunzo for good, y’all. Despite the fact that both Scarlett and Ryan have been fraternizing with other folks in the past couple of months, it’s only NOW that the couple are totally and completely divorced from one another. Happy Independence Day Weekend!

Scarlett Johansson and “Green Lantern” star Ryan Reynolds are officially back on the market, because their divorce just became final. Final divorce papers were just filed in L.A. County Superior Court. Sources tell TMZ … the divorce was amicable. Neither Scarlett nor Ryan asked for spousal support and there was no prenup, so they divided the property and earnings accumulated during the marriage 50/50. The papers were filed by Ryan’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, this afternoon. The couple married in September, 2008 and have no children.

Earlier today we learned that Maria Shriver formally filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger and now we learn that Scarlett‘s divorce from Ryan is finally complete. It’s kinda sad, to be honest. Ah well … life goes on, learn from your mistakes and move forward. Happy singleness to Scarlett and Ryan!

Vinny Guadagnino Reportedly Moves OUT Of The MTV ‘Jersey Shore’ House

At the start of the week we got to see the first photos of the Jersey Shore cast moving back into their infamous Summer home in Seaside Heights, NJ (after they spent about a 5 weeks filming the show in Florence, Italy the month before) and today we learn that one of the castmembers done gave up and moved OUT of the house. Vinny Guadagnino (who, sadly, never came up with a cool Jersey Shore nickname) has reportedly gotten fed up with filming and is so homesick that he decided to pack up and move back home to be with his mommy in Staten Island, NY. HMMM.

Vinny Guadagnino has bailed on the “Jersey Shore” house and the show once again — but this time, we’re told it’s for good. Sources directly connected to the cast tell TMZ … Vinny bolted from the house late last night after getting into an argument with another cast member. We’re told Vinny was feeling “burned out” and went back home to Staten Island. We have confirmed that he is at his house in Staten Island right now. Vinny threatened to leave a few days ago, after he complained of “being homesick.” We’re told the cast was able to talk him into coming back, but that didn’t last long. Sources connected with the show say Vinny has been a pain in the ass and no one will getting on their knees, begging him to come back. TMZ spoke with executive producer Sally Ann Salsano, who tells us, “We do not comment on the production of the show.”

LOL! Poor Vinny. I know he’s been able to be away from his mother for about a month at a time but 2 months? Clearly that’s too long to be parted from mama’s bosom. I’m sorry … it’s one thing to leave the JS house after getting punched in the face or getting dumped by a significant other … but homesickness? Lameness.

Maria Shriver Files For Divorce From Arnold Schwarzenegger

In late May we learned that Maria Shriver, who is estranged from her cheating husband and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, started exploring her divorce options and today we learn that she’s dropped the hammer and has officially filed for divorce. Because there is no pre-nuptial agreement between Shriver and Schwarzenegger, there will likely be a 50/50 split of assets … which means Maria will likely walk away from her marriage to Arnold with about $200 million. Not a bad parting gift, I’d say.

TMZ has learned Maria Shriver has pulled the trigger on her marriage … she just filed for divorce from Arnold Schwarzenegger … and we’ve learned, there is NO PRENUP. In the divorce petition, obtained by TMZ, Shriver cites “irreconcilable differences” as her reason for ending the 25-year marriage. Shriver is asking for spousal support and wants the judge to deny Arnold the right to ask for support for himself– though it’s highly unlikely he would. Shriver is asking for joint custody of their minor children, who she names in the document as 17-year-old “Patrick Arnold Shriver Schwarzenegger” and 13-year-old “Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger.” And, in the petition, filed by disso-queen Laura Wasser, Shriver is asking Arnold to pay the attorneys’ fees of both parties. As for the date Arnold and Maria separated … it isn’t specified in the divorce papers. According to the docs, the property accumulated during the marriage will be divided at a later date. And, sources tell TMZ, there is no prenup, so all of Arnold and Maria’s earnings over the past quarter century will be divided 50/50. Sources close to the couple tell TMZ … Arnold and Maria are on speaking terms and Arnold knew beforehand that she was filing divorce papers. Maria is telling friends she hopes this will be an easy and amicable divorce.

I think it’s fitting that Maria waited until Independence Day weekend to file her divorce papers (or as close to the weekend as possible). Arnold is a cheating scumbag and he does not deserve to be married to Maria. And after she went thru being married to him, I think Maria deserves every single penny owed to her from Arnold‘s millions. Run like HELL Maria … don’t look back … and take every penny owed to you.

‘Glee’ Dumps Chord Overstreet, Keeps Darren Criss

Big Glee casting news to pass along today … late yesterday it was reported that actor Chord Overstreet has been ousted as a series regular on the hit Fox series. Altho he hasn’t been fired from the show, he is no longer a series regular character … which means he’ll prolly feature in a few eps for the entire season. In happier news, actors Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr. have been bumped up to series regular castmembers on Glee. So when one door closes (in the face of an unsuspecting person, apparently), another door opens (for more fortunate folks). Click below to read all the deets about this Glee casting shake-up.

It's a case of good news/bad news for Glee fans courtesy of Ryan Murphy. First the good: Darren Criss (Blaine) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) have officially been upgraded to full-time series regulars, effective this fall with the start of Season 3. And now for the bad… Chord Overstreet's series regular option has not been picked up. However, a source close to the show says the actor — who joined the Fox hit last fall in the recurring role of McKinley transfer student Sam Evans — could return as an occasional guest star … The news comes two weeks after series creator Ryan Murphy raised eyebrows when he told Ryan Seacrest that most of the show's primary characters would graduate by the end of next season. "The show to me is about the way you express yourself as you start to move out into the world as a fresh, young person," he later clarified to Deadline’s sibling site TVLine. "Do we really want to have an eight-year [high school] senior? The only way somebody could stay on the show is if they flunk, and that is always a possibility. I think Brittany is pulling straight Fs."

Ugh … poor Chord. I mean, yes technically he’s still on the show … but we won’t see much of him … and he knows that. Yesterday he posted this message to fans on his official Twitter profile:

well its been a good yr too bad its over, time for summer and starting fresh / getting close to the end of the tour, cant wait to start working on my album when i get home!!! im gonna go full on! / i have the coolest fans hands down!!!! i love you all!!

I’m glad that Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr. will be more regularly featured on the show (tho, it kinda already feels like they have been heavily featured on the show already) but it’s a bummer that Chord is getting phased out. His poor character Sam … first he becomes homeless … then he finally gets a great girlfriend in Mercedes … now he’s gonna be squeezed out of the glee club :( Ah well. What do y’all think?
