New Madonna Album Rumors Hit The Internets

Posted: 10 Jul 2011 03:18 PM PDT

On July 4, we learned that Madonna officially began recording work on her next album. Today we are hearing from sources new rumors about what may come from Maddy‘s new disc. Madonna fans have been “hanging out” around her apartment listening for any bit of music they can hear … and then immediately sharing that info with the rest of the world online. Click below to find out what kind of information has been gleaned from these folks.

Our source Superpop, our staff member who broke the news about Madonna’s first days in the recording studio on Monday, was now sent some bits of the lyrics from the “Way back home” demo which is in the works at the moment. Reportedly, the song already sounds great, though it’s only just a demo track. Some say it’s scheduled to be the first single out of the new album but this can’t be confirmed yet, just as we can’t confirm that it will actually make the final tracklist of the album. Apparently, the song is not a Diagram Of The Heart production, it may actually be Martin Solveig’s. The song sounds something like Kelis’ “Scream”, starting off with a piano then turning into a powerful dance track, and its lyrics evoke the ones from Confessions On A Dance Floor’s “Let It Will Be”:

“I’ve been in charge so many years,
A above the tears above the fears”

“I’ve made the rules, I’ve cut the ropes
While I was dancing, you made your prayer and made your hopes
You thought that I was just a ho’s
but finally I found my way back home”

HMMM. I guess there are video recordings of this new Madonna music HERE but I can’t get them to play and, thus, I’ve not been able to hear them. I suspect this is the way it’s gonna be for the coming months that Madonna records her album. While I’d love to hear some snippets, I’d much rather wait and hear the songs in full when they are finished. I’m just glad she’s working on a new album. I have full faith it’s going to be an amazing album. I can feel it in me bones. The Queen of Pop is coming back, y’all.

Prince William & Kate Middleton Enjoy A Spot Of Polo Here In SoCal

Posted: 10 Jul 2011 02:28 PM PDT

Prince Willim and Kate Middleton continued their American holiday here in SoCal yesterday with a very bizzy schedule. They started out their day at a charity polo match in Santa Barbera, CA (Wills participated) before they returned to Hollywood, CA to attend a gala BAFTA event where they partied with a who’s who of big name Hollywood celebs. It was quite a day for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge here in sunny California!

Prince William played well enough in a charity polo match Saturday to earn public kisses from his wife and then mingled with a dazzling array of Hollywood royalty eager to meet the newlyweds on their visit to Southern California. At the midpoint of their tour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wowed a crowd at a sun-splashed polo field … The day’s royal events began up the coast at Carpinteria in Santa Barbara County, where William scored four goals as his team went on to win the overall polo match. The crowd at the sun-splashed Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club rushed onto the field despite an announcer’s pleas for them to return their seats, and finally security used a line of rope to push them back. After stragglers were pushed back and decorum was restored, William’s wife, the former Kate Middleton, presented each competitor a blue Tiffany & Co. box with a white ribbon, and a big silver trophy to her husband’s team. The last player to the podium was William. When the crowd yelled, “Kiss!,” she obliged and gave him a slight embrace and a kiss on each cheek … The couple arrived by helicopter in Carpinteria, joining hundreds of well-heeled royal watchers who’d traveled long distances — and paid big sums — to see them. “My father, the Prince of Wales, and my brother, Harry, were as green as that grass outside when I told them I’d be here today,” William told a reception where guests sipped champagne and whiskey. “Catherine and I have had a busy few days — so the prospect of being able to let loose this afternoon is wonderful for me.” William wore a white shirt and trousers with a blue blazer while his wife sported a silver and marble-gray hand-painted silk dress by British designer Jenny Packham. The cheap seats cost $400, while anyone paying $4,000 for a VIP ticket got a chance to hobnob with William and his bride … [the royal couple] then swung to the glamour of a black-tie evening event that drew Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Barbra Streisand, Blake Lively and Jennifer Lopez, among many others. The soiree at the restored 1920s-era Belasco Theatre in downtown Los Angeles was organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, of which William is president, to promote up-and-coming British talent in the industry. William’s wife, the former Kate Middleton, wore a flowing lilac dress with white waistband by Alexander McQueen. Fans cheered as they strode a red carpet and the couple responded by walking over and shaking a few hands. “Before I start, I’d just like to thank Colin Firth for my opening line: I have a voice,” William quipped in brief remarks to the star-studded audience, referring to Firth’s role as King George VI in the acclaimed film “The King’s Speech.” William also urged Hollywood to embrace the new wave of British talent. “Please give them the opportunities you have always extended to some of the brightest and best that Britain has to offer,” he said. “When American and British creative talent gets together, magic happens.” The guests included executives of major studios and entertainment companies along with such luminaries as James Gandolfini, Don Cheadle, Dana Delaney, Jack Black and Kristin Chenoweth.

I know the royals are supposed to be here on holiday but, damn, they’re keeping bizzy. A polo match by day and a gala event where you have to be cordial to so many people … that’s work! I understand that Wills and Kate spent part of their day today at a community center on skid row in downtown LA. I’m not sure when they have time to sleep but I do hope they are enjoying their time here in California. It’s really cool having them here, you know, even if many of us won’t get to actually lay eyes on them.

The Spa Who Loved Me

Posted: 10 Jul 2011 01:54 PM PDT

So … let me tell you about my AMAZING day yesterday. Because my birthday is coming up next Tuesday, David decided to take me out for a lovely couple’s day at the spa and Lord Have Mercy, was it heavenly. Not only was it luxuriously relaxing but it was something we got to share together which made it all the more fun. Afterward, we met up with our friend Josh Rosebook for dinner at Night + Market, one of our fave restaurants here in LA. It was a Saturday full of rest, relaxation, good food and good friends. What more could you ask for?

David managed to score a sweet deal at the Argyle Spa inside the Sunset Tower Hotel (on some Groupon-like site). We enjoyed massages, a warm milk bath and our own hammam (wet sauna with sugar scrubs and ice cold showers) … ALL in our own private suite (which had a huge flat screen TV, which we didn’t even think of touching). It was total bliss. David is always so amazing with his birthday gifts … not only did he pamper me but he allowed me to share it with him. Best gift ever :D

After our spa day, we were starved so off to Night + Market we went:

Best Thai Street Food outside of Thailand. Everything is SO delicious, so damn spicy. I love it there. On the big blank wall, they project videos and movies and last night’s offering was Footloose:

So awesome :)

This afternoon, David and I are meeting up with Angie and her daughter Kendal for a ice cream birthday date for Kendal’s 7th birthday. I can’t wait. Hope all y’all are having a great Sunday!

Victoria Beckham Gives Birth To A Baby Girl!

Posted: 10 Jul 2011 12:28 PM PDT

Much love and congrats goes out to David and Victoria Beckham today … because at almost 8 AM PT this morning, they welcomed the birth of their 4th child and FIRST baby girl! Altho Baby Girl Beckham was rumored to arrive last weekend, it turns out that this is the weekend she wanted to be born. Click below for all the deets concerning the arrival of first Beckham Baby Girl.

Victoria Beckham finally has a little girl to dress up. The pop star-turned-fashion designer and her soccer star husband David Beckham welcomed a daughter at 7:55 a.m. Sunday in Los Angeles. The parents of three sons – Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8½, and Cruz, 6½ – announced they were expecting a girl in March. “Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family,” says Beckham spokesperson Jo Milloy. The girl weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz., and was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. No name was announced.

Yay! Becks and VB finally have the little girl they’ve always wanted! I kinda love that the baby was born on 7/10 weighing 7lbs. 10oz. How perfect is that? I’m certain we’ll be hearing the baby’s name very soon (care to venture a name guess in the comments below?) but for now, let’s let the newly expanded family enjoy their time with the newest member of the bunch … and let’s send all of our LOVE and CONGRATS to the entire Beckham family today!!

Vinny Guadagnino Reportedly Moves Back INTO The MTV ‘Jersey Shore’ House

Posted: 10 Jul 2011 09:29 AM PDT

Last weekend we learned that MTV Jersey Shore castmember Vinny Guadagnino reportedly moved out of the house and left the show after being involved in a major fight with the rest of the cast. It would appear that Vinny was only homesick for a quick trip home because this weekend we are hearing that he has moved back into the house and has resumed filming the show.

Apparently the “Jersey Shore” cast enjoys a big pain in the ass, because we’ve learned Vinny has returned! As TMZ reported Saturday night, Vinny and the cast went to dinner and a club last night, in an effort to heal the deep psychological wounds between them — and apparently it worked. We broke the story … Vinny stormed out of the house a week ago and returned to his home on Staten Island, vowing never to return to the show. What’s interesting … at the time he left the cast, crew and producers were happy about it — or at least they said they were — because he was a pain in the ass. Maybe it was a story line, maybe it was just fickle silly youth — Jersey has just regained the glory of Vinny.

US Weekly reported this weekend that Mike The Situation Sorrentino moved out too but I don’t really believe that. TMZ makes a good point that this “move out” was merely for show and meant to be part of this season’s storyline. I have a hard time believing any of these numnuts are dumb enough to walk away from so much free money. Vinny‘s back, all’s right with the world.

British Tabloid ‘News Of The World’ Publishes Its Final Issue Ever

Posted: 10 Jul 2011 08:22 AM PDT

On Thursday we learned the very surprising news that the Rupert Murdoch-owned British tabloid newspaper News of the World would be publishing it’s final issue this weekend and today is dunzo day for the tab. As you may recall, NOTW came under intense pressure from readers and advertisers after it was revealed that employees (some very high-ranking) have been involved in serious phone hacking crimes (among other things). Seemingly, the decision was made to kill the 168-year old newspaper in order to cut as many losses as possible.

In London, issues of News of the World are rolling hot off the presses for the last time, the paper shuttered as a result of a hacking scandal that extends to the British government. The newspaper that prided itself on being the first to break a story, even if it was rooted in salacious suspicion, is shutting down after 168 years, leaving its 270 person staff without jobs. Dan Wootton, the Showbiz editor of News of the World, lamented the paper’s demise. “I am so proud of my colleagues who have continued this week in absolutely trying and very personally and professionally difficult circumstances in such a professional manner,” he said. A statement on the paper’s website blamed the demise on staff from previous years, apparently trying to distance current employees from the scandal. “We praised high standards, we demanded high standards but, as we are now only too painfully aware, for a period of a few years up to 2006 some who worked for us, or in our name, fell shamefully short of those standards,” the statement said. “Quite simply, we lost our way. Phones were hacked, and for that this newspaper is truly sorry.” While News of the World staff may be losing their jobs, one person isn’t — Rebekah Brooks, a chief executive for News Corporation, the parent company of News of the World who was a former editor during the time of the alleged phone hackings. Calls for Brooks’ dismissal abound but she isn’t focused on that and neither is News Corporation Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch. He released a statement today saying that he has total support for Brooks. “We already apologized,” he said. “We’ve been let down by people … the paper let down its readers.” Brooks, despite suspicions of her own involvement, said that the truth will come out. “Eventually it will come out why things went wrong and who was responsible and that will be another very difficult moment in this company’s history,” she said. Though News of the World is just one of Murdoch’s territories, it may be the one that could threaten his ever-growing empire. Murdoch is the man whose endorsements were sought after by prime ministers and whose media arm stretched across the Atlantic. Now with the onslaught of evidence against his paper and top editors, his focus is more on the future than the past. He is expected to fly into London Sunday as he scrambles to salvage his company’s bid for the satellite broadcaster British Sky Broadcasting. But the mounting evidence of widespread involvement in the scandal that brought down News of the World could be too much for even Murdoch to overcome. Already, former News of the World editor Andy Coulson and former royal editor Clive Goodman were arrested on charges related to the paper’s hacking scandal … These arrests are just the tip of the iceberg in the growing allegations against News Corp., including reports that News of the World hacked into politicians’ and celebrities’ voicemail and allegedly hacked into families’ voicemails of Britain’s fallen soldiers … On Friday, [Prime Minister David] Cameron revealed details of new inquiries into the paper, examining why the police investigation failed so “abysmally” and also examining the culture and ethics of the paper … News of the World may be heading to its grave, but the scandal is still very much alive.

It is very disturbing that Rupert Murdoch is choosing to stand by Rebekah Brooks, especially if he is trying to salvage his relationship with the British government … but many things that that man does mystify me to no end. In the end, it’s a shame that a newspaper with such a long history had to be killed off in a mire of shame and crime. It remains to be seen what repercussions will reverberate in the way other tabloid publications do business but, IMHO, it’ll be back to business as usual soon enough.
