Ryan Gosling Surprises His Mom For Mother’s Day

Posted: 08 May 2011 01:12 PM PDT

I’m not sure how YOU spent your Mother’s Day this weekend but if you’re a good son like Ryan Gosling, then you flew home to visit your mom … even if she wasn’t home. Ryan made his way to his mom’s home in Toronto, Ontario as a sort of surprise … but when he arrived, she was not home … and he had to sit on the porch waiting for her arrival. Thankfully, Ryan didn’t have to wait for long … and he got to surprise his mama right on her front porch :)

As you can see, Ryan had his trusty MacBook laptop computer to keep him bizzy while he waited for his mom to get home. It’s funny that the poor guy doesn’t have a key to his mom’s home but … his Mother’s Day weekend surprise worked out nonetheless. I’m certain mama Donna was THRILLED to come home to find her handsome son waiting for her on the porch. Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day to me ;D

Sarah Jessica Parker Celebrates Mother’s Day Weekend With The Fam

Posted: 08 May 2011 01:00 PM PDT

It’s been a few months since we’ve checked in with Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick and their beautiful children so what better time to see how the family is doing than on Mother’s Day weekend! When last we saw photos of the twin girls Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, the little ones were not quite ready to walk on their own … today we get to see new photos of the little darlings lookin’ like little ladies, standing on their own two feet.

I cannot believe how quickly these little babies grow up! It seems like not long ago that we first heard the girls were born and now they’re basically little kids, running around all over NYC. It’s nice to see that James Wilkie is growing up nicely (and chess is not a bad hobby to have). What a beautiful family … aren’t they all just the cutest? It really does look like it was a very Happy Mother’s Day weekend for the entire Parker-Broderick family :D

Derby By Day, Gettin’ Funky By Night

Posted: 08 May 2011 12:45 PM PDT

Yesterday was a very bizzy, very full, VERY FUN day for David and me. In the afternoon, we were invited to our friends Tom and Patrick’s home for their Kentucky Derby party where we got to eat, drink and be merry with a group of their friends. Last night, David and I made our way to The Forum in Inglewood, CA for my 6th Prince concert of his 21 Nite Stand residency here in LA. ‘Twas a fantastically fun and surprisingly profitable day for the two of us :D Read below for the deets.

Along with food, drink and comradery, there was also betting available at Tom & Patrick’s party. I put my money on the horses Pants on Fire and Watch Me Go … neither of which were even close to winning. David put his money on Comma on Top … at first. Before the race started, I noticed that no one bet on Animal Kingdom … so I told David, who was standing by the betting wall, to put some money on Animal Kingdom … he did and we won $100! I am not a gambling man … but winning the pot of cash yesterday gave me some keen insight as to why gamblers like to gamble ;)

After the party, we rested for a bit before hittin’ the road to see Prince in concert again:

What can I say … another fantastic show. Former Pussycat Doll and soon-to-be X Factor host Nicole Scherzinger was a nice surprise and Adam Lambert got brought up on stage to do some dancing with His Purple Majesty. Last night was one of those shows where the encores just kept coming. I’d say 80% of the audience left before the absolute finale encore at the very end. David and I had a BLAST! Thus far, I have 6 of Prince‘s 21 shows under my belt … and I’m planning on being in attendance for the 3 new shows coming up next weekend. It is a CRAZY privilege to get to see Prince perform so many shows like this. I was so jealous that London got to enjoy 21 nights of Prince a few years ago … I’m gonna do my best to attend every show possible :D

Tonight, I’m meeting up with Darion and Sebastian to see Thor in IMAX 3D again … I enjoyed the film so much, I can’t wait to see it again.

Happy Mother’s Day
to all y’all today … I hope you have a fantastic Sunday!!!

‘Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ Premieres At Disneyland

Posted: 08 May 2011 11:24 AM PDT

The world premiere of the new Disney action film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides took place on Main Street inside Disneyland in Anaheim, CA last night and a veritable who’s who of big name celebs were in the hizzy for the main event. Among the biggest stars in attendance was Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and others. Oh yeah, there were some Hollywood celebs at the event as well. Click below to check out some photos of Pirates stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush with some of their celeb friends at the premiere event last night.

And with last night’s premiere we officially enter the home stretch until the film’s release. I will be seeing a preview screening of Pirates very soon and I am really excited to see what kind of trouble Captain Jack Sparrow gets into this time around. It seems like only yesterday when we were first hearing about the start of filming production for this movie last Summer … now, here we are, just days away from the film’s release. The premiere looked like it was a blast … I love that Natalie Maines brought the family out for the event … and it’s always a pleasure to see Eliza Dushku and Rick Fox at any event. Oh and I gotta say … I am LOVING Johnny Depp with his shorter hair. He really looks ready to film his cameo for the planned 21 Jump Street movie that is currently in production. But that’s another movie for another time. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will open in theaters on May 20 … are you ready?

First Look: New Photos From The ‘Footloose’ Remake Hit The Internets

Posted: 08 May 2011 10:50 AM PDT

In June of last year we learned that dancer Kenny Wormald won the lead role of Ren McCormack in the upcoming remake of Footloose (after Gossip Girl‘s Chace Crawford decided to pull out of the film) and today we are getting our first look at the movie. In a new promo photo released from the new version of Footloose, we get to see Wormald dancing with Julianne Hough who will star as his female lead Ariel. Whether you like it or not … a new version of Footloose is headed our way.

She’s been a professional ballroom dancer and a country music singer. Now Julianne Hough is making her mark as an actress – in a remake of the Eighties classic Footloose. Newly released stills show the 22-year-old recreating the role of Ariel, made famous by Lori Singer, shaking her blonde hair as she dances across the screen. But whether the remake can match up to the magic of the original – which launched the career of Kevin Bacon – remains to be seen. The update of the iconic 1984 dance flick will open in October with a new cast including professional dancer Kenny Wormald, who takes over Bacon’s career-making role of Ren McCormack. While Wormald, 26, is not a household name, he definitely knows a thing or two about dancing. The Boston native has toured with Justin Timberlake and starred in Madonna and Mariah Carey’s music videos. Wormald was only a baby when the original came out, but he claims it is one of his favourite films. ‘I was about 10 when I saw it for the first time,’ he told USA Today. ‘I remember thinking, “That is awesome. He’s dancing in a factory. I want to do that.”‘ Dennis Quaid will take over John Lithgow’s role of the conservative reverend who disdains dance. Andie MacDowell plays his supportive wife, while Hough, of TV’s Dancing With the Stars, will play their wild-child daughter, Ariel. Hough, 22, who made her big screen debut in last year’s Burlesque, says fans will get to see a new side of her. ‘People are going to see my performance rather than the glitz,’ she says of the role that requires her to play a 17-year-old. ‘This is hometown-girl hot. I’m definitely wearing some tight jeans in this movie.’ The remake also has a new director, Craig Brewer, 39, of Hustle & Flow fame, who admits he was a rabid fan of the original. ‘I had the soundtrack in my Walkman all the time,’ he says. ‘I constantly played it.’ Brewer was brought on board after director and choreographer Kenny Ortega of High School Musical fame backed out shortly after the original lead, Zac Efron, quit. But Brewer has some big shoes to fill since while the original Footloose cost just $8 million dollars to make, and it grossed 10 times that much at the box office. Even more impressive, the film’s soundtrack sold more than 9 million copies, and scored two number one hits, singles Footloose and Let’s Hear It for the Boy by Deniece Williams. So far, there’s no word on who will be on the soundtrack, but the remake is being shot in several different cities in Georgia and could have a Southern feel. The movie-musical is scheduled to dance into theatres on October 14th.

Blah … I’m SO on the fence with this film. On the one hand, I am kinda curious to see what a new version of one of my favorite movies will look like. I have watched and re-watched Footloose a million times and without question, the film’s soundtrack is one of my fave albums of the 80′s. BUT as curious as I am to see what this remake will look like, I’m afraid it won’t hold a candle to the original and will only disappoint. I’m kinda on board with the casting … I gotta say, I love the idea of Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell as the Christian parents (tho John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest cannot be touched, ever!). To be honest, I don’t really think very much about Julianne Hough but I think Kenny Wormald has a chance here to really become a break-out star. I don’t know if my curiosity is enough to make me excited for this film … but it’s deffo got me intrigued. What do y’all think of this first look at the new Footloose? Are you impressed? Excited? Bummed out?

HMMM … now I really want to watch the original film. In fact, I’ll prolly watch the original Footloose another million times before this remake comes out in October.

Tina Fey Does Sarah Palin AGAIN On ‘Saturday Night Live’

Posted: 08 May 2011 09:53 AM PDT

Yesterday we saw a few funny promo videos for Tina Fey‘s hosting gig on Saturday Night Live last night and today we get to check out some of the funny skits she featured in on the show. Without question, last night’s ep of SNL was one of the funnier eps … Tina Fey has the ability to make anything funny … even Saturday Night Live. Tina was joined by fellow former-SNL castmember Maya Rudolph on the show last night and the two of them really brought the funny. Check out some promo photos and video from last night’s very funny Mother’s Day episode of Saturday Night Live.

Tina‘s opening monologue was very funny … but NBC has not released video of her performance. Tina dueted with Maya Rudolph (and their unborn fetii still in the womb) and it was just hilarious! But there were other funny skits as well last night … which you can watch below …

GOP Debate:

Mermaid:

Birthing Class:

The next two skits did not feature Tina Fey but they are also worth checking out. The bin Laden sketch could’ve been funnier but at least it was timely. The Digital Short features Michael Bolton and a strangely catchy song about Pirates of the Caribbean … I’m not sure what it says about me but, I laughed my ass off during the Digital Short. Check ‘em out …

Osama bin Laden Last Will and Testament:

Digital Short – Jack Sparrow:

I really enjoyed last night’s ep of Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey is just a brilliant comic. I love her entirely. Did you enjoy last night’s ep of SNL? Which skits were your faves?

Victoria Beckham Shares Her Baby Shower With Friends

Posted: 08 May 2011 09:30 AM PDT

Victoria Beckham made her way home from NYC this weekend so that she could be in attendance at a baby shower thrown in her honor! That’s right, Vicki B. won’t be giving birth to baby Beckham #4 until this Summer but apparently the time was ripe for her and her friends to celebrate her baby’s coming birth a wee bit early. Vicks shared some of her shower fun with her followers on her official Twitter profile. Click below to check out the photo she shared yesterday.

I have been told to wear something waterproof for my baby shower!!!!I’m now very nervous!!!!x vb / Question…..is waterproof chic?????or stylish is any way????x vb / So much fun!!!!!! X vb / Such a lovely day!!!thank u so much @EvaLongoria and @KenPaves for being such wonderful friends.Baby showers are so much fun!!!!!!!x vb / Thank u for such kind wishes and messages.I have had a lovely day today with friends and family. Can’t wait for the game tonight!!! X vb

In inference was that Vicki‘s BFFs Eva Longoria and Ken Paves threw the shower for her … but I don’t think either of them are included in the photo above. Actually, it really doesn’t matter because Victoria Beckham is clearly the star. I am LOVING this photo so much … we never get to see Vicki B. looking so silly and fun. I never thought I’d see the day when Victoria Beckham would allow herself to get wrapped in toilet paper … and then be photographed! She looks fab … it really sounds like she had a great baby shower :D

It’s Official! Paula Abdul Will Judge ‘The X Factor’

Posted: 08 May 2011 08:47 AM PDT

Well … OK … the news isn’t really officially official just yet but … it’s pretty much a certainty that Paula Abdul has signed her contract with Simon Cowell to be one of the judges on the US version of The X Factor, due out on Fox this Fall. As you may recall, we heard from Cowell himself a few weeks ago talking about the strong possibility that Paula would get the gig and since that time furious contract negotiations were taking place behind the scenes. Earlier this week, it was announced that Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger would be hosting The X Factor and we already knew that LA Reid and Cheryl Cole signed on to judge the show with Cowell … but Deadline is reporting this weekend that Paula HAS signed her contract and she is on board as the 4th judge.

I hear Paula Abdul just closed her deal to be the fourth judge on Fox’s The X Factor and is getting ready for tomorrow’s first two auditions tapings at 1 PM and 6 PM. With contract negotiations dragging on until the last possible minute, it is a good thing that the tapings are here in Los Angeles. Simon Cowell has a penchant for drama, and his U.S. X Factor has already offered a lot of that. The series’ hosts, Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones, were announced earlier this evening, less than 24 hours before they will emcee the first auditions. The other three judges on the reality show are Cowell, Antonio L.A. Reid and Cheryl Cole.

Woot!! I expect an official statement from Cowell/X Factor will be forthcoming … with auditions scheduled to begin today, there’s going to be some official announcement that Paula Abdul has joined the show as a judge. I gotta say … Cowell really rounded out his new show very well. I think the hosts will be great (Scherzinger is a MUCH better choice than Taylor Momsen, who was rumored for the host job months ago) and the judges are a proven batch of stars. Cheryl Cole has done a great job as an X Factor judge in the UK and I know there are LOTS of people out there missing Paula on a show like this. Will The X Factor be enough to topple the very popular American Idol? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. The X Factor is off to a great start tho … dont’cha think?
