Confirmed: Ashton Kutcher Will Replace Charlie Sheen On ‘Two And A Half Men’

Plans for the reboot of Two and a Half Men are officially a go! The Hollywood Reporter is confirming that Ashton Kutcher has been hired by Warner Bros. and CBS to replace Charlie Sheen on the upcoming new season of the show. Earlier this week, it was reported that Hugh Grant was up for the role but negotiations fell thru at the last minute. Ashton‘s casting may come as a surprise to most because his name has not been tossed around in the weeks since it was decided that Sheen would not be coming back. Read on for all the deets about Ashton‘s new gig on Men.

Ashton Kutcher appears to have won the Two and a Half Men sweepstakes. Two sources close to the deal-making tell The Hollywood Reporter that the actor is putting the final touches on a deal to replace Charlie Sheen as the star of TV's No. 1 comedy. CBS, studio Warner Bros. and Kutcher's reps at CAA declined to comment on the situation but a deal is said to be all but signed. The exact dollar figure he will be paid is not known but a source says Kutcher is getting a "huge payday" to join the hit sitcom. The deal came together quickly in the wake of Hugh Grant passing on the opportunity to join the show. Now sources say Men creator Chuck Lorre has crafted a storyline to introduce Kutcher in a way that satisfies the network and studio. "It's really funny," says one source. "People are going to love it." Broadcasting & Cable reported Thursday that Kutcher's name was surfacing as a possible Sheen replacement. The actor, who starred in the winter hit No Strings Attached, would be taking first regular series gig since catapulting to stardom on Fox's That 70's Show. He also executive produced the hit MTV hidden-camera series Punk'd, among others. Kutcher brings a youthful fan base to the CBS show, as well as a big online profile with 6.7 million Twitter followers, which could help CBS promote the show. “Chuck’s really happy,” another source says. For his part, Kutcher is remaining silent … Sheen was fired from Men in early March, after a weeks-long media circus that had the actor attacking everything from Alcoholics Anonymous to Lorre.

Wow. Kutcher‘s return to TV is bound to get attention. To be honest, I think Hugh Grant would be a much better fit for the show age-wise but only because I feel that Ashton skews really young … but maybe that’s the point. I’m not a fan of the show so I can’t venture a guess as to how fan’s will react to this news. That being said, I’m very curious to see how this turns out. What do y’all think about this casting news? Joseph Gilgun Has Joined The Cast Of The UK TV Series ‘Misfits’

Last month we learned the surprising and upsetting news that actor Robert Sheehan will NOT return for the third season of the brilliant UK series Misfits. Today we not only learn who will replace Sheehan on the show but we also get our first look at the new castmember on the set with his new Misfits compatriots. Joseph Gilgun has been hired to replace Sheehan on the Misfits … he will play a character named Rudy. Joseph Gilgun has been announced as Robert Sheehan’s replacement in Misfits. The This Is England ’86 actor has signed up to play new character Rudy in E4′s hit drama about ASBO superheroes. He will replace Sheehan, who is quitting his role as Nathan to pursue a film career. His departure will be shown in a special online-only episode ahead of series three. A statement from Channel 4 reads: “New kid on the block Rudy gets a rude awakening in his first few days of community service, learning that with the keys to the infamous locker comes a great deal of running and screaming and, in some instances, bloodletting. But that really is the least of his worries. More pressing is just how to keep his secret superpower, well, secret. And is it super? As in from the A- List?” Teasing the action of the third series, it continues: “The rest of the gang are also back with all-new powers. But just how did that trade off with Seth (Matthew McNulty), the superpower dealer, go down? You would hope that at least one of them has a power approaching something halfway useful. “With Seth still trading powers, zombies on the loose, havoc being wreaked with events from the past and even more havoc being wreaked in the present, things haven’t got any quieter for our gang.”

I realize that many of you US readers have no idea what I’m talking about but trust me, if you can seek out and watch Misfits you will love the show as much as I do. I blogged about my new love for the UK series Misfits back in January … so any news of the upcoming new season is very exciting for me. I was VERY BUMMED to hear that Robert Sheehan was leaving the show but I’m really hopeful that Joseph Gilgun will make a suitable replacement. The photo of the cast on set above was shared by Lauren Socha on Twitter, who plays Kelly on Misfits. Trust me, if you don’t know Misfits … seek it out and watch. It’s a brilliant show. Eva Longoria & Eduardo Cruz Frolic Together In Miami

Last month, Eva Longoria and her new loverman Eduardo Cruz made their way to Mexico for a romantic getaway. This month, the pair have taken their globetrotting tryst to Miami, FL. Eva and Eduardo have been spotted this week enjoying all the fun that Miami has to offer. As you can see in the photos below, it really looks like they’ve been having a blast … which means for Eduardo, wearing as little clothing as possible.


These two really seem to enjoy one another’s company. I realize they’ve only been together for a short time but I really like Eva and Eduardo as a couple. They make much more sense then Eva did when she was married to Tony Parker. I think it’s kinda fun to follow these two around the world on their romantic adventures. If variety is the spice of life, then these two live a very spicy life, indeed ;D

Jake Shears Of Scissor Sisters Shows Off His New Jockstrap

Jake Shears, frontman of the band Scissor Sisters, was the happy recipient of a box of unmentionables from a company called Nasty Pig that manufactures, among other things, undergarments. He was so happy with his package that he decided to model a jockstrap and post photos of his wares on his official Twitter profile. Very obvs, the photos are NSFW as they give a clear view of his Jake‘s bare buttocks … but for those of you who might be interested, click below to see Jake happily modeling his new gift from Nasty Pig.

Watch: A 1-Minute Scene From ‘X-Men: First Class’ Has Been Released

Late last month, X-Men: First Class released a full-length trailer … but today we get to see a full minute clip from the film itself. Altho we are only weeks away from the film’s release, I know I am getting VERY anxious about seeing the film. Everything I’ve seen thus far leads me to believe that this X-Men film may be the best of the bunch. The District 2 Tributes Have Been Cast In ‘The Hunger Games’

At last … the final pair of tributes have been cast in the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games. The District 2 boy tribute Cato will be played by Alexander Ludwig and the girl tribute Clove will be played by Isabelle Fuhrman. It was widely assumed that Cato and Clove might be played by better-known actors (Max Adler from Glee has been unofficially vying for the role of Cato) but instead, the parts went to these two lesser-known actors. That being said, you may recognize one or both of these actors from their previous work. Click below to learn more about the actors that will bring Cato and Clove to live in The Hunger Games film.

Tributes complete! Alexander Ludwig (Race to Witch Mountain) and Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan) have been cast as District 2 tributes Cato and Clove in the movie adaptation of The Hunger Games. They are the fiercest duo of the dreaded Careers alliance. Cato in particular is a nasty piece of work, and perhaps Katniss' biggest competition in the reality TV fight to the death. A hulking, fiercely competitive specimen, he's out for blood. His girl counterpart Clove is an expert knife-thrower and takes tremendous glee in her kills. Ludwig and Fuhrman, who both boast longer resumes than the majority of newcomers previously cast as tributes, join an impressive bench alongside the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Stanley Tucci, Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks, and, as of yesterday, Woody Harrelson. In terms of major characters, that leaves only the casting of Cinna, Katniss' beloved stylist, to be revealed. The Hunger Games goes into production this month and will be in theaters March 23, 2012.

Love this casting! I was so impressed with Isabelle‘s work in The Orphan … that movie totally blew my mind. She was just excellent in her role in that film. I don’t know Alexander but he looks much more handsome than I envisioned the character to be. Cato, in my mind, was a muscular and hulking figure … I guess we’ll have to see if Alex here will get beefed up for the role.

I don’t want to spoil the story for those of you who have yet to read the books (and I STRONGLY urge all y’all to read the books) so you’ll just have to guess which of these characters will make it out alive. Prince Rocks The Troubadour ALL NIGHT LONG

Yesterday afternoon, seemingly out of nowhere, The Troubadour announced that Prince would be playing two last minute shows in their tiny club Wednesday night. With almost no warning, tickets went immediately onsale for an early 7pm show and a late 11pm show. Because I am totally crazy, I jumped at the chance to get a ticket for the 11pm show … and then had enough time to get a ticket for the 7pm show as well. It turns out that my friend David Russell and his friend Chris were also attending the 7pm show so we met up at the Troubadour to begin what turned out to be one of the most amazing nights of live music I’ve ever seen.

This is the message that the Troubadour sent out yesterday announcing the 2 Prince shows:


I met up with David in line at around 5:45pm and then we were met by Chris shortly thereafter. The 2 shows that Prince played last night were very different in scope and style. The first show as more laid back, with lots of slow songs and long instrumental jams. Altho the set list looks short, the songs were interspersed among 10-20 minute jam sessions of just beautiful instrumentation. Power Fantastic and A Case of U were my faves but the show vibe of the show was just chill and cool as Hell. It was during this first show that I was closest to Prince. I was not 5 feet from the man all night. You could tell, it took a while for him to warm up to being so close to the audience. But once he did warm up, he was playful and joking with the crowd all night long.

The second show, damn, now that one was worth the price of both admissions all in one. While the first show was slow and jammy, the second show was LOUD, fast and really rocking. Prince came out and said, “I hope you are ready for some rock and roll” and he blasted his guitar from that track all the way until the final encore at 2:30am! It was more difficult to sneak photos for the second set but here are the few I managed to snap along with the setlist:

I mean … what can I say about this setlist? Legendary comes to mind. To be able to see Prince rock out to these songs in such an intimate setting … I am truly blessed. I kept trying to remember to be in the moment, to relish what I was experiencing because it really was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Before the second show started, I got to meet Glee‘s Darren Criss (who was really very sweet and so nice) but all I really could focus on was Prince on stage. After the show, I got to meet Prince‘s #1 female vocalist Shelby J. and was able to tell her how much I love her performances. She took my hands into her hands and thanked me … it was just the most amazing night of live music EVER! There were moments when Prince would use his guitar to “battle” with Mike Phillips on the saxophone that just BLEW my mind! It was unlike anything I’ve EVER seen before. I’m telling you, I could go on and on and on about all the tiny nuances of last night’s shows but I’ll never be able to convey what it was like to be in the presence of such awesome musicianship. I am SO excited for the rest of the Forum shows that Prince still has yet to perform in the coming days and weeks but I know, nothing will ever compare to being able to experience the shows I got to see last night. I am a very lucky man.

Plans for tonight? Sleep. I have to make up for the sleep I did NOT get last night. Ahhh … what sweet dreams I’ll have :)

The ‘Jersey Shore’ Ladies Leave For Italy To Film Season 4

Last week we saw photos of the Jersey Shore guys with packed bags in hand making their way thru the airport presumably on their way to Italy to film the upcoming 4th season of the show. Today, courtesy of TMZ, we get to see a new photo of the ladies and their packed bags at Newark Airport bound for Italy as well. As you can see in the photo below, Nicole Snooki Polizzi, Dina Deena Nicole Cortese and Jenni Jwoww Farley made sure to pack the tackiest/ugliest luggage they could find for the trip … naturally.

Jwoww and Snooki just checked in at the Lufthansa ticket counter at Newark Airport — destination: Florence, Italy for “Jersey Shore” Season 4. They’re at the business class desk right now, with a bunch of tacky, animal print luggage.

Ugh … I guess this Italian season of Jersey Shore is really gonna happen. Again, my sincerest apologies to the people of Italy … please know that these JS jokers do NOT represent all of America and they should be treated as the buffoons they are. MTV‘s Jersey Shore has already become a parody of itself so please do not take anything that they do or say in your country with any seriousness at all. That being said, if the fine people of Italy would like to keep the entire Jersey Shore cast — FOREVER — we would all be much obliged ;)

Jared Leto Poses For Terry Richardson On The Streets Of NYC

Back in March we got to see new photos of actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto posing in a series of photos for his BFF Terry Richardson. Today we get to see a new batch of photos of Jared by Terry. This time around, Terry shot Jared on the streets of NYC and altho the pics aren’t anything too special, they are kinda worth seeing because they do feature Leto and his hotness.


It’s nice that we can look forward to new photos of Jared Leto every other month when he hooks up with Terry Richardson for a fun day of photography. I’m hoping as the weather heats up this Summer, the next batch of photos will feature Jared wearing much less clothing. Just a suggestion.

Mos Def Will Guest Star On ‘Dexter’ Season 6

Singer turned actor Mos Def (who is, apparently, going only by Mos these days even tho pretty much everyone will continue to call him Mos Def despite his real name being Dante Terrell Smith) has just been announced as the newest guest castmember on the upcoming 6th season of Dexter. As you may recall, we learned earlier this week that Colin Hanks will feature on the show and now we know Mos Def will as well. According to the press release announcement, Mos Def will pay an ex-con named Brother Sam who is described as “a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion, yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence”. HMMM. Does that sound like a good guy or a bad guy to you?

Mos Def has finalized a deal for a multi-episode arc on the sixth season of Dexter, according to sources. The actor and hip hop artist will play a hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence. Michael C. Hall's Dexter will reveal the truth of who he really is. Production on the sixth season of the Showtime drama thriller begins in June with an eye toward a fall bow. Mos Def joins Colin Hanks — who will appear in all 12 episodes — as one of the upcoming season's villains. Hanks will play Travis, Dexter's main nemesis and a highly intelligent ancient artifacts expert who is linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami. At this point it unclear in how many episodes Mos Def will appear. But he is one of multiple recurring characters who will populate the show after the dispatching of season five guest stars including Jonny Lee Miller, Julia Stiles and Peter Weller.

I love Mos Def, most definitely. I’m very intrigued by the description of his character on the show … even tho it gives us an understanding of the role he’ll play, we have absolutely NO idea whatsoever how that role will impact Dexter. The obvious belief is that Colin Hanks will play the season 6 villain … but it’s possible that a hardened ex-con turned religious fanatic might be a villain himself. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out when the new season of Dexter premieres this Fall on Showtime. Any Mos Def fans out there? What do y’all think of his casting?

Britney Spears Hosts A Dinner Party To Raise Funds For Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Earlier this month we learned that our dear Britney Spears would be taking a night off from her furious rehearsals for the upcoming Femme Fatale Tour (due to kick off in just a few weeks) to host an event called An Evening of Southern Style to benefit the St. Bernard Project which continues to help Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Britney looked ABSOLUTELY STUNNING at last night’s event and she was joined by her loverman Jason Trawick as well as a host of other celebs who showed up to offer their support. When Britney Spears supports a charity, Hollywood comes calling. On Wednesday night, the femme fatale and her family hosted a private event in Beverly Hills that was attended by Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Kellan Lutz, Hilary Duff and others — all in support of the St. Bernard Project. The Louisiana-based nonprofit aims to rebuild homes of those affected by Hurricane Katrina, as well as helping rebuild their lives. Just a few days before the event, Brit called out to her devoted fanbase via Twitter to support the cause. “Text BRITNEY to UNITED (864833) to donate $10 to the St. Bernard Charity, which is dedicated to rebuilding homes after Katrina,” she tweeted. Once she arrived at the event, all eyes were on Spears as she graced the red carpet in a form-fitting lime green cocktail dress. She looked vibrant, posing for photogs, who snapped away in a frenzy. Hilary Duff, standing just a few feet down from Britney, couldn’t help but take in the action. “Gosh, I’m such a huge Britney Spears fan, I’m kinda freaking out that she’s right over there,” Duff told MTV News. “I love the whole ‘Toxic’ thing, I really like ‘Womanizer’ — she’s just talented all around and I’m a huge fan, excited to be here. And she keeps it going, you know, like all of her new songs are just as good as the last, and I’m impressed by her career. “I’ve actually met her a few times before and she’s really sweet, and I’m sure we’re gonna be talking about food more than anything tonight,” Duff continued. Once inside, Britney wasn’t the only Spears spreading Southern hospitality: Her dad, Jamie, was manning the kitchen. Guests were treated to a Southern-style sit-down dinner with all the fixin’s. Of course, it wouldn’t have been a proper Southern meal without some sweet tea, and guests sipped on the pop princess’ special recipe of lemon and peach tea. Britney serves as an ambassador of the St. Bernard Project, whose volunteers number around 32,000. Together, they’ve rebuilt homes in the New Orleans area for 350 families and counting.


Britney doesn’t lend her name to very many causes but when she does, it is deffo a cause that she strongly believes in. Hurricane Katrina had a devastating effect on her beloved homestate of Louisiana so I am not at all surprised that she would want to do anything possible to remind others that people in New Orleans are STILL suffering from the horrors of Katrina. At least, Britney and her celebrity friends were able to raise the much needed funds in classy, very Southern style. Britney posted a photo on her official Twitter profile of her father Jamie Spears cookin’ up some grub for the shindig last night:

Oprah Winfrey Gets A Chicago Street Named After Her

Oprah Winfrey, the woman who literally has it all, was honored in her adopted hometown of Chicago, IL by outgoing mayor Richard Daley with a street named in her honor. The street directly in front of Oprah‘s Harpo Studios in Chicago has been renamed as Oprah Winfrey Way in honor of her 25 successful years in the Windy City. Oprah happily appeared at the ceremony yesterday where her street name was unveiled, check out some photos and some deets about this honor below.

On Wednesday, outgoing Chicago Mayor Richard Daley gave another departing Chicago institution, Oprah Winfrey, a civic version of a parting gift: Her own street. Daley, who will leave office next week after more than 22 years, honored Winfrey by naming a block in front of Harpo Studios “Oprah Winfrey Way.” Winfrey is ending her own two-decade-plus run as host of her Chicago-based television show. “Your presence in Chicago has been a gift …” Daley said, moments before the cover was pulled off the sign that stands in front of the studio’s main entrance, calling Winfrey “a great ambassador for our city.” Winfrey was equally effusive about Daley and her adopted hometown. “I just want to say thank you to the mayor and also to the city of Chicago for embracing me and allowing me to take a stand and make a stand here in this city,” said Winfrey. Winfrey is the latest of well over 1,200 celebrities, religious leaders, activists and others who have been honored with street signs in Chicago. The list includes Michael Jordan, Siskel and Ebert, Frank Sinatra — who has two — and the geniuses behind Chicago-style hot dogs and pizza. More than 100 people crowded onto the block and dozens more stood behind police barricades that blocked both ends of the street in one of the best attended ceremonies since the city started honoring people with the signs in the early 1980s … Winfrey told the crowd about coming to Chicago in 1984 to host a morning talk show, “A.M. Chicago,” and how she fell in love with the city and decided quickly that if she didn’t get the job she would find a job, perhaps in advertising, just so she could stay. Winfrey said having a street named after her was “better than an Oscar or an Emmy.” “It is really just a full circle, miracle story,” she said, “that a little colored girl born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on a red dirt road ends up with my name on a street in the greatest city in the world, Chicago.”

I mean … Oprah has countless awards, massive amounts of money, her OWN television network … why not add a street to her collection of accomplishments. I can’t say that I’m at all surprised that Oprah got her own street name … in fact, I wouldn’t even be surprised if the entire city of Chicago were renamed after her. There is no doubt, Oprah Winfrey has enjoyed HUGE success in Chicago and she has shared much of her success with the city that has been so good to her. After 25 years in the biz there, it totally makes sense that Chicago, IL is now home to Oprah Winfrey Way.

Sadly, Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli aren’t the only celebrity couple calling it quits this week … actress Hayden Panettiere and her ginormous boyfriend Wladmir Klitschko have also decided to end their relationship. Altho the couple have only been together for about 2 years, everything seemed peachy keen in their relationship. Unfortch, it just wasn’t meant to be. Hayden and Wladmir are dunzo!

After two years of dating, Hayden Panettiere and Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion Wladmir Klitschko are calling it quits, PEOPLE has learned exclusively. “Even though we’ve decided splitting up is best for both of us, we have an amazing amount of love and respect for each other and remain very close friends,” says the Scream 4 actress, 21. Klitschko, 35, the reigning IBF, IBO and WBO heavyweight world champion, cites the physical distance as a stumbling block for the couple. “We had a great time together, but it’s not that easy to manage a relationship between two continents,” he says. “I have a lot of respect for Hayden as a person and as a friend, and I believe we’ll keep our friendship even after the separation.”

It’s a shame that distance is what is being blamed for this split but I guess when you have a guy that tall with a girl that short … distance is bound to be a problem. To be honest, if I were to guess the reason for the break-up, I’d go with Hayden‘s haircut. I love the girl, I really do … but I really do not like her short hair. It was the scariest thing in all of Scream 4. Unlike Leo and Bar‘s break-up, this split doesn’t seem so serious. The couple had only been together for about 2 years … she’s young, he’s giant … they’ll each find new love soon.

Leonardo DiCaprio & Bar Refaeli Are Dunzo, For Good!

Actor Leonarod DiCaprio and his longtime supermodel girlfriend Bar Refaeli have decided to end their relationship. The couple have been together for the better part of 5 years (except for that 6 month break they took apart a few years ago) and it was widely believed that Leo and Bar would end up saying I Do eventually. Apparently a marriage was not meant to be because clearly the couple couldn’t make a serious go of it. Leo and Bar are dunzo, y’all!

It’s the end of the road, once again, for Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaelii. The Hollywood superstar, 36, and the Israeli supermodel, 25, who had been together for five years – minus a six-month break halfway through – have called it quits, a source confirms to PEOPLE. The pair began dating in the spring of 2006, and tried to keep their romance low profile despite their stardom. They split in 2009, but were back together the following year. Refaeli later said she was grateful for that six-month break – that she “grew up” during that time apart and learned not to fear being alone.

HMMM … even tho many people thought these two would get married, I was never convinced. Leonardo DiCaprio does not strike me as the kind of guy who is likely to take a wife. He does not seem like husband material to me. If I had to make a wild assumption and guess what caused the split, I’d have to say that Bar prolly wanted to get married and Leo did not. Perhaps Bar wanted to start a family and Leo did not. Of course, I have no way of knowing for sure … but I can see Leonardo DiCaprio as a lifelong bachelor. It’s a shame that the couple couldn’t make their relationship work but, in the end, it’s prolly for the best that the couple split up now.
