WHAT'S BEEF: Sean Penn & Wyclef Jean Engage In Verbal Brawl Before Hugging It Out + Justin Bieber Fans Hack Esperanza Spalding’s Wikipedia Page

Posted: 14 Feb 2011 08:40 AM PST

Over the weekend "Haiti relief rivals" Sean Penn and Wyclef Jean had an intense confrontation during a music concert in Times Square.  Get the deets on their verbal warfare inside and find out why Justin Bieber fans have beef with Esperanza Spalding and how they expressed their anger last night after the cut...

We told you earlier about the war of words between Sean Penn and Wyclef Jeans a few months ago, when Sean Penn attacked Wycle Jean for wanting to be President of Haiti saying, he has a "personality that threatens to create a new swell of social unrest in a plagued country."

Wyclef responded saying  "I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain't see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine."

Well....the two fellas bumped into each other on Saturday at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in Times Square as both went to see Haitian band T-Vice perform.

Sources tell Page Six that the two men locked themselves in a backstage dressing room for a 30-minute argument before emerging, having made peace.

"They were both in the venue, and when they saw each other at around 1 a.m., they started a confrontation. Things seemed pretty tense, and everyone around them was nervous. They then asked staff if they could go somewhere private, so they were led into a dressing room backstage where they could be alone and shut the door. They weren't yelling and screaming, but they had it out and aired their differences for 30 minutes. When they came out they hugged each other, they went onstage and stood side-by-side," said a source.

It is good these two worked out their differences and perhaps they can start a charitable effort together to help Haiti in its time of need.

In music news...

A few Justin Bieber fans took offense when he lost out on the Grammy for Best New Artist to jazzy artist Esperanza Spalding.  So some fans took to her Wikipedia page and put a few nasty comments.

According to MTV.com, random facts and taunts were added to the site and then quickly removed. For example, after a sentence talking about her victory, a user added the statement, “Justin Bieber deserved it go die in a hole. Who the heck are you anyway?”

Although Justin shared in his fans’ frustration, he told MTV News,

“I’m not going to lie — I was disappointed. But, you know, I’m gonna come back [next year] and we’ll take a few home.”

And when Justin saw Esperanza backstage at the Staples Center the two artists shook hands.

Esperanza was just as surprised by the win as everyone else.

“I was one of those [surprised] people.  It was so unexpected, that’s the truth. I’m grateful to all my people in my big musical family that have given me so much support and help over the years. I don’t really think this is for me; it’s for all of us. And I wish they could all be here to put one finger on this with me.”

Congrats to Esperanza and hopefully Justin's young fans will take the high road like their idol.

WHO RAN IT?: Nicki Minaj Vs. Keri Hilson

Posted: 14 Feb 2011 07:39 AM PST

It's an animal print faceoff! (PETA is probably ready to stike any minute). In today's installment of "WHO RAN IT?" Nicki Minaj and Keri Hilson both went head-to-toe with animal print looks for different Grammy festivities. Decide who ran it best when you read on...

YBF celebs decided to rock animal prints to the biggest night in music history including Nicki Minaj, along with Swizz Beatz rocking a leopard print jacket, Jaden Smith sporting leopard print pants, and Jamie Foxx's date dressed in a leopard dress.

Nicki Minaj was drenched in a head-to-toe leopard look which was designed by Givenchy specifically for her. Her outfit included a leopard dress, leopard tights, leopard shoes and leopard gloves with her signature bright pink lip. She topped her look off with a blonde Bride of Frankenstein up-do which was covered in animal print as well.

Keri Hilson stepped out to Clive Davis' Pre-GRAMMY gala on Saturday rocking a long-sleeved Dolce & Gabanna Fall 2010 mixed leopard print gown. She paired her look with gold accessories, a gold chain belt and gold clutch. She topped her look off with a blonde asymmetrical bob to frame her face.

So…

WHO RAN IT?!

GRAMMY FAB HIGHLIGHTS: The Show And The Performances

Posted: 14 Feb 2011 04:52 AM PST

The performances from last night's 53rd annual Grammy awards were all out big-top productions with surprise guests, slick dance moves and Muppets.  And who doesn't love a good Muppet?  Come inside and see pics and highlights from the show.

The show began with a sexy and buff LL Cool J walking out and introducing "The Queen of The Grammys" Ms. Aretha Franklin who has 18 of the awards.

This lead to a tribute starring Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Yolanda Adams, Martina McBride, & Florence Welch.  The group performed 'Natural Woman,' and individual renditions of "Ain't No Way" 'Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)' 'Freedom' 'Respect' 'Spirit In The Dark' and 'Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves.'  And yes.....Christina knew the words.

I was not blown away by this performance but the audience seemed really excited by the Usher/Justin Bieber collab. And people really got excited when Jaden Smith took to the stage. Look closely and you will see that Will and Jada know all the words to Jaden's rap. I bet they helped him rehearse at home all week. They looked like proud parents.

.

The next performance was one of my favorites as it proved that the geeks can be "the cool kids." In a performance that mixed the old and the new, the classy with the street and covered several genres of music, I was in awe of B.O.B., Bruno Mars, and Janelle Monae.

And with a very bright backdrop, Cee-Lo Green performed his hit YouTube clip "F*ck You" with the Muppets. Then all of a sudden, Gwyneth Paltrow hit the stage. And guess what, she sounded pretty good. And there was no auto-tune either.

And another huge production number was Eminem who had Rihanna and Dr. Dre as backup. Again, this was another "much hyped" performance that fell a little flat for me.

Rihanna performed a medley of hits that included a walk-on with Drake.

Bonus:

Let's take another look at Nicki Minaj's outfit.  Thoughts?

1.  And after her Aretha  Franklin tribute, Christina A. fell as she left the stage.  Video.

GRAMMY FAB HIGHLIGHTS: The Winners And Attendees

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 09:57 PM PST

The 53rd Grammy Awards show was filled with exciting performances, interesting outfits and some surprising wins.  Peep the highlights inside...

Talk about star power, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Usher, three of the biggest stars in the world took a pic together backstage.

Beyonce showed us a little bit of everything.  I like to see her a bit more dressed up, but she's been working her butt off this year.  She can do what she wants.

And we caught Willow sitting in Lady Gaga's lap.  I wish I had Willow's childhood.

Oscar winner Jaime Foxx was there, looking a little lite and gray at the top. But he would surely be a silver Foxx.

I'm not feeling this gown on RiRI...but hey....it is Jean Paul Gaultier .

Jennifer Hudson kept it fab and represented for the Queen of Soul.

Jaden must have found his pants in Willow's closet.  He rocked the stage with Justin B.

Tyrese was in the house.

We also saw the newlywed Monica.  Now...this is a gown I like.

And Jordin Sparks was there too.

And there were some notable wins at the Grammys.

FAB TRIBUTE: The GRAMMYs Turn It Out For The Aretha Franklin Tribute

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 07:55 PM PST

The 53rd annual Grammy Awards started off with a FAB tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. We've got the video when you read on...

Yolanda Adams, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Florence Welch, and Martina McBride started off the tribute singing 'Natural Woman' before each got their own moment to sing. Christina redeemed herself after her Superbowl fiasco with a rendition of 'Ain't No Way'. Jennifer Hudson made a strong case to be casted as Aretha in her upcoming film belting out 'Respect'. And Yolanda Adams finished up the solos with 'Spirit In The Dark'.

Although Aretha wasn't able to make the Grammys, she pre-recorded a message thanking the group for the tribute. She also thanked Clive Davis, everyone whose sent get well soon cards, and everyone for their prayers.

Here's the video:

We first noticed Aretha lost a lot of weight when she showed up at the Pistons game Friday. Wonder if her 'surgery' was really gastric bypass ?

GRAMMY FAB II: YBF Celebs Strut Down The Red Carpet

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 07:43 PM PST

Tonight in Los Angeles, the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards were held at the Staples Center.  This is the night that most artists dream about all their life.  Come inside to see what your favorite celebs decided to wear on the red carpet for the biggest night of the year...

On the red carpet, Lil' Wayne posed with Nicki Minaj and Tyga.

Ok...I think the Nicki Minaj outfit is interesting and it works on her.  And I like how she matched the wig to the outfit.  For the record, she said this outfit is Givenchy.

Rihanna rocked a white layer Jean Paul Gaultier gown.

Jennifer Lopez rocked a silver sequined Pucci dress.

Jennifer Hudson looked phenomenal and she rocked the Aretha tribute.  She rocked a dark blue Versace spaghetti strap dress with Neil Lane jewlery and the shoe were Louboutins.

Janelle Monae rocked her usual black tux/uniform and we love it everytime we see it.

Jada Pinkett Smith wore a silver gown while Will rocked a black Dolce & Gabbana tux.  But clearly the style stars of the family are the kids.  Jaden rocked cornrows and leopard pants for his performance with Justin Bieber and Willow rocked platforms shoes, a cape a different shades of brown.

Eva Longoria's outift is a bit young for her don't you think? Eva rocked an Ashi dress and Brian Attwood shoes.

Ok Ciara's outfit is everything from high school.  The top part is majorette, the middle is cheerleader, the flowing train is lead soprano in the choir and the split is sexy librarian.  It's many things.  And it was designed by Emilo Pucci.

Yes...Mya got invited too.  And she dressed as a silver dollar.  I smell a Young Money collab coming on. She wore a Jean Fares gown, Casadei shoes, a Miriam Haskell bracelet and earrings and a Tacori diamond ring.

Lenny Kravitz rocked leather pants and a leather over coat with a thin t-shirt.

Keri Hilson wore a Basil Soda dress, Judith Leiber clutch, and Emsaru and Le Vian jewelry.

Amber Riley rocked a nice printed dress and some high heeled shoes.

Yolanda Adams rocked a silver gown and turned it out during the Aretha tribute.

Toni - I don't like it.

Tank's date looked great.  But I'm not a fan of this scarf under the tux jacket or that unbuttoned shirt.  It's tacky.

Diddy kept it simple in tuxedo pants and a leather jacket.

Seal and Heidi Klum do their own thing.  They are rockstars.

The newly Slim Paul Wall walked the carpet with his wife.

Musiq was there in a grey tux.

Prince Disinvites Eric Benet To Essence Event? + Kanye West Goes Shopping During GQ Event

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 10:12 AM PST

Sources say Prince recently had R&B singer Eric Benet disinvited from the Essence Black Women in Music pre-Grammy event in Hollywood because Eric is engaged to his ex-wife, Manuela Testolini.  Get the deets inside plus read about Kanye West turning a fashion show into a personal shopping event...

On Tuesday night, Essence Magazine honored singer Janelle Monae at Playhouse in Hollywood and Eric Benet was disinvited once Prince was expected as a special guest. Organizers believed it was because Prince didn't want to be in the company of his ex.

We told you earlier that Eric was marrying Prince's ex, Manuela, whom he divorced after five years in 2006.  At the time, Prince's lawyer, Patrick Cousins, told People magazine: "This isn't something that he wanted . . . He didn't countersue. He is just trying to get it resolved."

Eric started dating Manuela in November and proposed to her by singing a song he'd written, "Never Want to Live Without You."

I can't blame Prince.  I don't think I'd want to sit in a room with my ex and their new boo either.

Also in music news,

Kanye West scoped out the GQ Best New Menswear Designers in America event like it was a private show.  A spy told Page Six that Kanye went up to the lounging models and had them stand up and model the outfits for him.

He studied everything from the cut of the garments, to the soles of the shoes.  I wonder how much money he spent buying the items later?  Or was he given freebies.
