"Jumping The Broom" Cast Rolls To "106" & A Private Dinner

It was a majorly busy day for the cast of Jumping The Broom yesterday.  The YBF actors and actresses hit up "106 & Park" to do some promo, then held a private dinner and after party.  We've got all the pics of the fab cast making their rounds, plus what Tasha Smith and Laz Alonso told YBF about the Spike Lee VS. Actors Mike Epps, Pooch Hall, Tasha Smith, and Laz Alonso all laughed it up at their NYC pres dinner last night at Pranna restaurant.  And YBF was on the scene to chat up the cast.

When asked whose side they were taking in the Spike Lee vs. Tyler Perry beef, Tasha Smith (who has worked with Tyler) and Laz Alonso (who has worked with Spike) chimed in their two cents. 

Tasha commented that she just wants peace saying half-jokingly, "my goal in life is to get Tyler Perry and Spike Lee to collaborate and work together on a film in the future."

While Laz reminded everyone that Spike is simply an opinionated individual. He told us, "Spike is a very good friend and I enjoyed working with him in 'Miracle at Santa Anna'. [Spike] is an opinionated man, not just toward Tyler, but just in general. He is a man that commits to his feelings. I believe they're both necessary and they portray two different images that connect with black audiences."

What's next for the cast?  Laz is the star of the tv series "Breakout Kings" which airs every Sunday at 10p EST on A&E. Tasha has been cast for Tyler Perry's new show on TBS "For Better or for Worse".  They begin filming in July.  Pooch is excited about "The Game" getting picked up for a 5th season on BET.  And Mike Epps is focusing on his next stand up project.

 

Tasha worked this look.  LOVES IT.

And star of the movie Paula Patton looked cute as usual.

While covering the latest issue of UPTOWN Magazine, Sanaa Lathan dished about her new play called "By The Way, Meet Vera Stark.  It's a story of a seventy year journey through the life of Vera Stark, a headstrong African-American maid and budding actress. 

Her new role centers on her tangled relationship with her boss, a white Hollywood star desperately grasping to hold on to her career. When circumstances collide and both women land roles in the same Southern epic, the story behind the cameras leaves Vera with a surprising and controversial legacy scholars will debate for years to come.

Sounds interesting.  The play kick off this summer off Broadway in NYC.

YBF KIDS: Usher & The Kiddies Take NYC+Reginae Carter's Banking $22K Off Reality TV

Usher played doting daddy yesterday as he and his tour bus rolled into NYC.  He brought little Usher V and Naviyd along as they were spotted hitting up their hotel.

Looks like little Cinco was extra happy about his ball when he hopped off the tour bus with daddy Ursh in NYC yesterday.  Usher clutched his hand and his camo duffel with the other, while little Naviyd was spotted exiting with the nanny:

Speaking of YBF Kids, Toya Carter is making sure her and Lil Wayne's little princess Reginae is well taken care of from this reality show train.  Since 'Nae appears in several episodes of Toya's "Family Affair" BET reality show, Toya reportedly made the network do a minor's contract for her 12-year-old daughter, which would give Baby Carter $2,000 per episode.  In an 11-episode season, TMZ reports that Reginae's banking $22,000, plus expenses, plus a private bank account to protect her accumulating assets, plus travel accommodations if the fam travels more than 75 miles for filming.

Guaranteeing your baby some of that reality money that won't last forever.  I know that's right....

EVENT FAB: Beyonce, Kerry Washington, Kanye West & More At The Metropolitan Museum of Art Gala

Last night, Anna Wintour threw what has become one of the most sought after ticket in New York's high society fashion circles, the Costume Institute Gala.  This year's gala was dedicated to Alexander McQueen and attended by all of the beautiful people in music, fashion and business.  See pics of Beyonce, Naomi Campbell, Kerry Washington, and more inside....

The "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" Costume Institute Gala At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art went down Monday night and the YBF folks came out with the fabness.

The King and Queen of Hip Hop/R&B Jay-Z and Beyonce arrived arm-in-arm.  And Beyonce's gown was so tight she had to be helped up the steps in her Pucci gown.  Gorgeous look though.

Solange Knowles wore Dries Van Noten.  Lovely graphic and bold look for her.

Zoe Saldana wore a simple Calvin Klein that still works lovely for her.

Joy Bryant looks like a totally different person when she actually wears makeup.  She donned a Missoni ombre orange gown for the occasion.  

Model Joan Smalls was also there.  She pulled off the vampy makeup look with her gothic yet feminine dark silver gown.

Serena Williams went Carrie Bradshaw on us and wore a silver fascinator by Royal fave Philip Treacy and her gorgeous white Oscar de la Renta gown with a beaded bodice and shredded fabric look full skirt.

Pharrell Williams looked dapper in his suit.

Kerry Washington wore this stunning sexy cut-out teal dress.

Kanye West used a fancy safety pin to close his jacket.


 

He posed with Lyor Cohen.  Lookin' great 'Ye.


Jennifer Hudson looked fabulous in this strapless bronze and white full organza skirted gown.  The whole gown is made of silk organza and French tulle.  And she posed with Vera Wang--the designer of her gown.

Ciara looked very model-esque in her sleek Prabal Gurung gown.  I see she raised up those girls right too.

 

Serena's bestie LaLa Vazquez Anthony also donned Vera Wang.
 

 
 

She and Carmelo hit the red carpet.  Carmelo looked dapper as usual.  But the orange skin paried with the peach gown is just a bit much for La.  Not loving the fit of her gown on her either.
 

Andre Leon Talley worked his usual cape business.  This one was bigger than usual.

 

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys looked great and that crocodile jacket is to die for.  Interesting to pair with such a feminine gown--I wouldn't have done it.  But it's a fab jacket on its own.  Her whole look is by Givenchy.

Amar'e Stoudemire posed in Calvin Klein with his fashion partner Rachel Roy, who rocked her own strapless white design of course.

Rosario Dawson was there.

Nicole Richie wore white and looked fabulous with an old Hollywood look.

I love this gown on Rihanna.  Great one-armed revealing laced look for her. 

The dress is by Stella McCartney and the black lacy shoes by Christian Louboutin.

Rashida Jones wore a purple strapless A-line gown.  She could have taken a bit more risk though--this IS the Costume Gala.

Speaking of risks, Naomi Campbell (who looked like a piece of art) arrived with her boo Vladimir Doronin.   This white Alexander McQueen frock is sure to turn off a lot of people.  But there's something so unique about the top that I love.

Not loving Keri Hilson's choice here.  Her grey Versace dress wasn't my fave.  Not understanding the dress itself and it looks forced for her.  I've seen her take risks and look fabulous before, so expected more for this one.  And is it just me or is her hair and skin all starting to look monochromatic these days?

Jennifer Lopez wore this insanely red hot Gucci number.  I usually don't like big floral shrugs, but she made it work.  As usual.

Janelle Monae wore her signature black and white made head-to-toe by Chanel.

Iman looked like a Studio 54 diva in this metallic gold Stella McCartney deeply low cut pantsuit.  Classic.

Eva Mendes looked gorgeous in a royal blue one sleeved belted gown by Stella McCartney.

John Legend's model girlfriend Chrissy Tiegen wore a revealing black Chris March gown with Ruthie Davis’s “Spikette” pump.  Definitely a conversation starter dress.  Loves it.

 

Thandie Newton wore a Stella McCartney dress and walked the red carpet with Freida Pinto (on the right) and Jimmy Choo Chief Creative Officer Tamara Mellon (to Thandie's left).

Thandie and Tamara both wore Solange Azagury-Partridge jewelry while Thandie also accessorized with Jimmy Choo “Louisa” platform sandals from the Choo 24:7 Collection and the fashion house’s “Mini Tube” clutch.

Freida wore Chopard jewels and a satin clutch and white silk gown from Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2010 Haute Couture Collection.

BUSTED: Flavor Flav Arrested In Las Vegas For Having Four Outstanding Warrants

After being pulled over for a routine traffic violation Flavor Flav was arrested in Las Vegas after it was discovered that he had four outstanding warrants.  Deets inside.....

While in Las Vegas handling some business for his new chicken shack, Flavor Flav was arrested during a routine traffic stop because of four outstanding warrants.

TMZ reports that Flavor still needs to settle up with the courts for two cases of driving without a license, a parking violation and driving with no proof of insurance.

Flav was taken to a nearby jail, did a mugshot and was released shortly thereafter.  I hope he gets all this taken care of.  And this mushot is a mess...

Fans of Solange Knowles got a treat today as the sought-after-DJ released a previously unheard track called "Left-Side Drive." Listen to the song inside...

Solange wrote the song two years ago and said,

 “It’s completely unofficial, and was just inspired by the song which i have had a deep love affair with for years. I am a huge Boards of Canada fan, and got the chance to work with them on Sol-Angel on ‘This Bird’. Still feel honored to this day.”

Diddy, Rick Ross & Drake At The Celtics Vs. Heat Game + Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Renew Their Vows

The NBA Playoffs are in full swing and last night the Boston Celtics took on the Miami Heat in front of a crowd that included Ray J, Diddy and Rick Ross.  See the pics inside and see Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon at the hospital where they renewed their vows with Al Sharpton.

The Miami Heat beat the Celtics last night (99-90) in Game One of their playoff series.

While Dwyane Wade got very close to fans in the stands.

Meanwhile, Dwyane's girlfriend Gabrielle Union posed with Adrienne Bosh and Savannah Brinson in a photo tweeted.

 

The ladies all wore white to show support for the team and it worked as the Heat took the win.

Newlywed Chris Bosh had his game face on.

Ray J was there with his serious look.

Rick Ross was there too.

Recently, two of our favorite YBF chicks, Chanel Iman and Kerry Washington were spotted in the same outfit from the 2011 summer/spring Gucci collection.  Decide who ran it best inside....

 

Last night Kerry Washington rocked a bold and vibrantly colored Gucci dress from the spring/ summer 2011 collection to the Mary J. Blige honors concert in New York City. Washington paired the dress with Gucci's purple Malika clutch and purple and gold heels. A couple of months ago, half way across the world Chanel Iman wore the same dress to the 500 by Gucci party in Milan. Iman paired the racy frock with Gucci Kelis Suede & Python Ankle-Strap Platform Sandals.

Chris Brown's latest single samples Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" and the video itself is a very stylish tribute with glitzy outfits and action-packed dance moves.  Chris starts off the video saying MJ was his greatest inspiration and then dedicates the video to the King of Pop. 

The video was a wonderful tribute and captures the essence of the "Beat It" singer.
