Oprah, who is usually known for her positive outlook on life and lifts people's spirits with her neverending goodness and pearls of wisdom, has seemed to have taken a dark turn. While discussing her upcoming show Oprah's Lifeclass on OWN, she described her inspiration for the show:

| Sunset Junction Music Festival CANCELED! Posted: 24 Aug 2011 12:45 PM PDT Sadsies!!! Sunset Junction has been officially canceled this year! The city of Los Angeles denied the permit for this year's festival even though organizers raised enough money to cover fees the city was demanding. Unfortunately, they only had about $100,00 of the $141,000 owed on hand, which prompted the city to deny the proper permits needed. A lawyer representing Sunset Junction said that a check could be delivered by Thursday, one day after the deadline. The board's president, Andrea Alarcon, wasn't having any of it though. She said:
Wow, she isn't messing around! We are sooo sad about this! This is the first time in 31 years that the festival has been canceled. What are the Silver Lake hipsters going to do this weekend?!? |

| Anti-Gay Republican Rep Phillip Hinkle Refuses To Step Down After Craigslist Scandal Posted: 24 Aug 2011 12:20 PM PDT And what's more, he is refusing calls from the House Speaker, public and private, who is insisting that he resigned from his position. Earlier this month, Indiana Rep. Phil Hinkle was caught offering a teenage boy $80 for sex after responding to a Craigslist ad online. Since then, Rep. Hinkle has been repeatedly asked to step down from his position. He is already being removed from several of his committees and chair positions and as he has offered no explanation or apology for his actions,his constituents want him gone. However, it seems Finkle refuses to leave his post, insisting that he, not this young boy, was a victim of a crime, though of what crime we're not too sure. He is refusing to speak to House Speaker Brian Bosma, but he did offer his first public statement on the scandal, saying:
That ... is all crap and you know it! This is not something that is just going to blow over, sir. You've REALLY stepped in it and you have very little options left open to you. We suggest accepting that not only is your political career over, but that you are in fact a man who has never really delved into his real feelings. Resign from office and go get to know yourself. Taylor Swift only bought a $1,990,000, 4,062 square foot penthouse in downtown Nashville, TN in 2009, before swapping it in for a $1,400,000 historic mini-mansion in the same town in September of the following year. Only seven months later, she moved along to a $3,550,000 compound in a Beverly Hills, CA canyon - and now, after making some serious renovations to the Nashville mansion, she and her family have reportedly picked up another historic estate in Tennessee - and all for the very reasonable price of $2,500,000!
