CELEBS GIVE BACK: La Toya Jackson And Michael's Kids (Paris, Prince & Blanket) Donate To Children's Hospital

The children of the late Michael Jackson (Paris, Prince & Blanket) joined aunt La Toya and Grandma Katherine  for an event the family hosted on behalf of Children's Hospital in LA.  See the pics inside...

Yesterday, Auntie La Toya Jackson took out Michael Jackson's kids (shown above with Paris Jackson) for the Jackson Family Donation Event For Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

The Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa escorted Mrs. Jackson into the event.

 

And Mrs. Jackson sat with Prince during the ceremony.

The family donated 13 pieces of art created by Michael Jackson to the hospital.

The family later posed with the donations.

 

Looks like Blanket was waiting for the entertainment to hit the stage.

 

It's great to see the kids following in their Dad's footsteps and giving back.

Lenny Kravitz Gets WET For The August/September 2011 Issue Of UPTOWN Magazine

Lenny Kravtiz covers UPTOWN Magazine's 2011 Style issue and we have some sizzling behind-the-scenes photos and highlights from the cover story with the rock sex symbol inside....

 

For the August/September issue style issue of UPTOWN Magazine, Lenny Kravitz sat for a candid interview with the magazine and donned some kick-butt fashions as well.

He opened up to the mag about his childhood saying, that he was often teased in school and called "zebra" because of his Jewish father and Black mother.

“I was the kid they knew was different. They knew who my parents were
and would call them Mr. Day and Mrs. Night, or they’d call me zebra.”

He added that when the family moved to L.A. for his mother (Roxie Roker) to do "The Jeffersons", he was enrolled in high school but rarely attended.  His friend and musician Jill Jones said, 

“Lenny would move easily through all the groups. There were black kids who hung together in the cafeteria, the geeks, the Asians, surfers, the rocker kids. He
hung with all of them." 

He also revealed he had a close relationship to Teena Marie.

 “She would cook a lot. It was her and
Penny Johnson, Rick James’ little sister. They looked after me, fed me. She took
me to concerts. She took care of a lot of folks. The big reason why I am here 
[is] because of this sister. She was for real. She was self contained,
a multi-instrumentalist, a writer, producer."

 

 

In this photo he walks the streets of the Meatpacking District in a black oxford shirt, David Ruffin–style glasses, a gray blazer, and a peacoat wearing what he calls “church shoes.”

Friends describe Lenny as down to earth.  “He’s cool with everybody when we walk the streets in New Orleans,” said Trombone Shorty, who appears on Lenny's new album, Black and White America.

One of his fondest memories is seeing the Jackson 5 live. “I remember all the flash bulbs going off. They sang “The Love You Save” and 
I lost my mind. Aretha Franklin sat next to us; she had on this white fur stole
 with the matching fur hat. The music just hit me.”

Lenny recently signed on to play Cinna, the designer from the popular Hunger Games science fiction novels, that have
been made into a film slated for a March 2012 release.

 

He also revealed that he designs furniture and fixtures at Kravitz Design, his own interior design company.

Nicole Ari Parker Lands Broadway Role In "Streetcar Named Desire" + Tracee Ellis Ross & Malcolm-Jamal Warner At The NABJ Convention

Nicole Ari Parker is heading to Broadway to join Blair Underwood in "Streetcar Named Desire."  Get the deets inside and see Tracee Ellis Ross and Malcolm Jamal Warner promoting their new show "Reed Between The Lines" at the NABJ Convention.

 

Fans of Nicole Ari Parker will be able to see the YBF chic on Broadway in Spring 2012 as she will star with Blair Underwood in the Broadway revival of "Streetcar Named Desire."

The pair will be directed by Emily Mann and Terrence Blanchard will handle the musical score. This will be the play's first revival since 2005.

Tracee Ellis Ross and Malcolm-Jamal Warner were in Philadelphia, PA recently at the NABJ conference to promote their new show "Reed Between The Lines " on BET.

While there, they posed with fellow cast members and BET execs: David Scott, Vice President of News BET Networks; Loretha Jones, President of Original Programming at BET Networks; Anna Maria Horsford; Melissa De Sousa; and Jeanine Liburd, EVP Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility.

Today we celebrate "The Voice" and icon Whitney Houston who turns 48-years-old.  We have seen her hit unimaginable highs and serious lows and as she pulls it together, let's celebrate her gifts.  See our gallery inside.....

 

Whitney Houston turns 48-years-old today.  And as one of the most-awarded female artists in music, she sits atop a music legacy that cannot be denied.

She's had unforgettable highs like the recording of "I Will Always Love You" and some unintentionally funny ones like the "Crack is Whack" quote, nevertheless, whether it's her singing or her "Hell To The Naw" side, Whitney keeps us listening, watching and laughing.

We wish Whitney well on her special day and all hope we will see her reprise her role in the Waiting To Exhale sequel.

Chris Bosh CLAIMS He Didn't Kick Baby Momma Off "Basketball Wives" + Chris Gets a Full Back Tattoo

We reported previously that Chris Bosh's baby momma Allison Mathis was taking him to court for getting her booted off "Basketball Wives," and now the newlywed Chris is firing back with another lawsuit calling her out for her B.S.  Get the deets inside and see the full back tattoo Chris just got...

 

Chris Bosh recently filed court docs in Orange County, FL disputing Allison Mathis' claims that he got her kicked off "Basketball Wives."

Allison, who says she had filmed two episodes and brokered a $250K payday, claims that producers got scared and dropped her from the show after Chris' high-powered lawyers threatened to sue if she appeared on the show.

But in his court docs, Chris says it's not his fault that producers dropped Allison, he is simply "acting to protect his own economic or financial interests."

He says he shouldn't have to pay Allison anything and that the judge should toss her lawsuit.  Alrighty then.

EXCLUSIVE: Kelly Rowland Lands SITCOM STAR Deal With Major Cable Network!

It's indeed "Motivation" singer Kelly Rowland's year.  On the heels of a #1 single and hit album Here I Am, TheYBF.com has learned Ms. Rowland just nabbed a deal to star in her very own sitcom!

 

Deets inside...

A major cable network just offered Kelly Rowland a deal to star in her own sitcom. 

We've learned the deal was just put on paper yesterday, and the deal should be signed, sealed, and delivered within a few weeks.

She'll begin filming the pilot episode of the yet-to-be named sitcom January 2012.

Kelly is sharpening her acting chops with her new role on the upcoming ensemble cast movie Think Like A Man.  And she's also starred in "Girlfriends" a few years ago and movies like Seat Filler, Mama I Want To Sing!, and Freddy vs. Jason.

While we can't yet reveal which major cable network offered up this sitcom deal, let's just say the network is no stranger to giving YBF chicks their shot at stardom.

Kelly also recently confirmed her tour will kick off this September.  And Chris Brown & T-Pain will be joining her in the multi-city fun.

Rihanna Gets STRIPED In Barbados

Rihanna's still chillin' back home in Barbados.  She was spotted rocking some high-waisted striped Missoni Sea Collection pants and a nude bikini top and body jewelry as she chilled beachside with fam and friends this afternoon.

Rih and her curly brown/blonde hair have been looking pretty relaxed these last few days in Barbados. 

She and her friends chilled outside on the beach while texting away on their phones.


 

And her LOUD tour may be over in the US.  But she's heading to Europe for festival performances soon. She'll be at the On The Beach festival in Helsinki, Finland on August 15th and the Bergen Calling festival in Bergen, Norway two days later.

Jay-Z And Kanye West Release "Watch The Throne" COVER Art + Kanye Goes Off In Another Media Rant

We told you earlier that Jay-Z and Kanye West's album Watch The Throne was released via iTunes yesterday, and now we can show you some of the disc's fancy artwork. 

See what Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci created for The Throne inside and get the deets on Kanye's latest rant where he compares himself to Michael Jordan AND Hitler.

 

Jay-Z and Kanye West pulled out all the stops for their avant garde hip-hop album, even hiring Givenchy's designer, Riccardo Tisci, to create special pieces for the Watch The Throne artwork.

Riccardo, who served as the album's creative director, created these special pieces which merge the faces of Hova And Kanye with the traits of several wild animals.  

While the disc arrives in stores on Friday, you can pick up the deluxe edition of the album exclusively at Best Buy from August 12 – August 22 to see more of the artwork.

 

But the new album isn't the only reason Kanye is making headlines this week. 

 

He recently put his foot in his mouth (again) during a concert in Herefordshire, England.

While performing at the Big Chill music festival, Kanye went on a long rant about being an artist and how people do not understand him or appreciate how he is changing music.  While we're not sure who has recently pissed in his cornflakes as we've seen nothing but mainly positive words spoken toward this new project of his, obviously someone's goten to him.

"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm f**king insane ... like I'm Hitler." He continued, "One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did."

Or...maybe people are just staring because they're starstruck?  He then told the audience he's in the hip-hop game to make a difference.

"Michael Jordan changed so much in basketball, he took his power to make a difference. It's so much f**king going on in music right now and somebody has to make a f**king difference."

 

And as Kanye poured out his emotions, he also talked about Amy Winehouse and her tragic death.  He suggested that her death was caused by the pressures of fame telling the audience, 

"“This is for McQueen, for Amy, for Michael and for all the media, can you lighten up on all your artists that are still here?"

It's clear that Kanye takes his "art" seriously......and we should just let him be great. 

BIG KISS: Shaq Lays A Big One On Hoopz In Public

The now retired NBA baller Shaquille O'Neal was spotted out in Calabassas with his live-in girlfriend, reality chick Nikki "Hoopz" Alexander, over the weekend smooching it up for the cameras.

 

The duo spent the afternoon seeing Planet of the Apes, then had a mini-smooch session for the paps.  Pics inside....


 

Shaq's known to be a silly guy, so it's no surprise he gave his ex-wife Shaunie O'Neal a run for her cuddly paparazzi pics money after these shots of her and Marlon came out days ago.

Shaq and Hoopz have been dating for a couple years now, and seem to be closer than ever.  Who'da thunk it?

PRETTY GIRLS ON VACAY: Cassie & Christina Milian Show Off Their Bikini Bods In Ibiza

Who knew Cassie Ventura & Christina Milian were on bestie status?  Or at least good enough friends to go on vacay together?  The two fab chicks rolled over to Ibiza, Spain for some partying and fun in the sun.

Cassie, Christina, and a third friend basked in the sun on the Spanish coast over the weekend.  Ibiza is also one of Diddy's big hangout spots, so it's possible Cassie was there accompanying him.

The two ladies and a friend donned their bikinis and sexy summer wear and snapped personal pics from their vacay.  And lately, mommy to Violet Nash, Christina, has been talking about making a new album.  And Cassie is still "working on" her second album, Electro Love.  It's been 5 years since the resale of her first album.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez were spotted heading to dinner at Nobu in Malibu yesterday.

Olivier has been spending a lot of time with Halle's daughter Nahla.  So it looks like Hale's keeping him in her life for a while.

And have you noticed that Halle and Olivier are wearing similar haircuts?  I wonder if Olivier gets his cuts in Halle's renovated salon at her home.

 

The couple was later spotted leaving Nobu and headed home.

Halle wore very little makeup and even when she's not trying, she manages to be an effortless beauty.  Cute couple time...

Former "DWTS" contestant Romeo Miller was spotted at club Primal in Atlanta over the weekend.

Romeo chilled with Vivica A. Fox's boo Slimm during the party.

Although he was surrounded by women all night, Romeo recently told KRAZE Magazine, "I'm one of those people, I really feel that you can't go lookin' for love, love will come to you. I'm single, I'm mingling."
