NBC Picks Up Wonder Woman Pilot! Posted: 23 Jan 2011 01:00 PM PST Woo-hoo! Wonder Woman officially has a home! Despite passing on the David E. Kelley pilot last week, NBC made the decision to pick up the show now that Comcast is taking over the network. The network passed on the script due to costly licensing fees as well as having bad luck with superhero projects in the past (ahem, Bionic Woman). However, now that Robert Greenblatt has taken over, the show just may have a chance after all. The adaptation is said to be a non-campy and serious take on the classic comic. Kurt Russell Excited About Kate Hudson's Pregnancy Posted: 23 Jan 2011 12:40 PM PST What a happy Grandpa! Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn's longtime partner, says he and the family are excited that Kate Hudson is expecting a baby with boyfriend Matt Bellamy. Kurt says, "We are pretty excited about it. I guess it's going to be about 5 or 6 months. We have time to get ready for that." And what about Kate's son Ryder? Kurt says: "He is pretty excited about it. Chris [Robinson] and his wife just had a child, a year old and they have a great relationship between those two. He was very excited about that so he is excited about this, too." He also adds how much fun it is to be a grandparent: "I love just seeing these kids and its fun having babies once again. Its fun to watch them grow and see how they are getting it and what they are grasping…I think secretly we are all hoping for a girl." Aww, such a sweet guy! Two More Companies Pull Their Ads From Skins!!! Posted: 23 Jan 2011 12:20 PM PST The list is getting bigger and bigger! First it was Taco Bell and GM. And now, Wrigley and H&R Block are the latest companies to pull their ads from MTV's racy teen drama, Skins. In a statement, a spokesperson for Wrigley said: "Wrigley has decided to suspend any advertising during MTV's Skins as it was never our intent to endorse content that could offend consumers. Any ads that previously aired during the show were part of a broader advertising plan with the network." Meanwhile H&R Block says that their ads were never supposed to run during the show, adding: "H&R Block is not an advertiser of the show. One ad ran by mistake as part of a rotation. Once we learned this, we immediately took steps to ensure it didn't happen again. This program is not brand right and H&R Block did not select it to be part of our rotation." Ouch! The Parents Television Council has called the show "the most dangerous television show for children that we have ever seen" and has urged advertisers to pull their ads. MTV responded to all the criticism, saying: "We review all of our shows and work with all of our producers on an ongoing basis to ensure our shows comply with laws and community standards. We are confident that the episodes of Skins will not only comply with all applicable legal requirements, but also with our responsibilities to our viewers. We also have taken numerous steps to alert viewers to the strong subject matter so that they can choose for themselves whether it is appropriate." All this controversy is just creating more buzz for the show! The show may have limited advertisers, but it's sure to have higher ratings now.

Britney Begins Shooting HIAM Video! Posted: 23 Jan 2011 12:00 PM PST Soooo exciting!! Britney tweeted that she's already begun working on the video for Hold It Against Me, which will be directed by Jonas Akerland! She said: Day 1 of the HIAM shoot with Jonas. Such an incredible experience. I think this will be one of the best videos I have ever done. -Brit Akerland also directed GaGa's Telephone video as well as Madonna's Ray of Light. Bob Marley's Family Wins In Image Lawsuit Posted: 23 Jan 2011 11:40 AM PST This is a big victory for the the heirs of Bob Marley. A federal judge has ruled against a company that has been using the reggae legend's image in making and selling toys and apparel. Leo Valencia, owner of Avela, has been ordered to pay Marley's family $300,000 in damages after the family complained that they didn't want to see Bob Marley's image portrayed on bobbleheads and plush toys. The judge is expected to award more damages after determining if there was more profit lost because of unfair competition. This is huge for the family considering just a few months ago they lost a lawsuit in obtaining the rights to some of Marley's most famous songs. Such a shame, but at least they won this time. Cuba Suspends All Mail To The U.S. Posted: 23 Jan 2011 11:20 AM PST Oh boy. Cuba has indefinitely suspended all mail to the U.S. on Friday, which extends a ban that was announced in November. Cuba's mail service, Correos de Cuba, made an announcement, saying, "Until further notice, we cannot continue to accept any type of delivery." This includes all types of correspondence, including packages, letters, and postcards. The suspension of mail occurred after the U.S. applied stricter anti-terrorism measures to mail deliveries from many countries, including Cuba. This increased the number of letters and packages being returned, making the service more costly. This certainly won't improve relations between the two countries who have been enemies fore more than half a century. Thoughts??

Pope Says Marriage Is Not A Right Posted: 23 Jan 2011 10:40 AM PST Pope Benedict XVI told priests in his annual speech on Saturday that they need to do a better job counseling couples who plan to marry. Benedict added that no one has an absolute right to marriage and to ensure that marriages last longer, Catholic churches need to provide pre-marriage counseling to help avoid a "vicious circle" of invalid marriages. According to records, the United States had more annulments in 2006 than than anywhere else worldwide. "The church and society at large place too much importance on the good of marriage and the family founded on it to not make a profound commitment to it pastorally," Benedict said. Thoughts?? But this, my friends, is the miracle of all miracles. I was given some news that literally shook me to my core. This time, I'm the one being reunited. According to Oprah's unauthorized biographer, Kitty Kelley, Oprah may discover her actual father's identity, alleging that Vernon Winfrey isn't her biological father. Scandalous!
